Josh~ we must have been eating at the same time. LOL We spend every 4th at Hershey! I am so happy they opened this restaurant. The server was a little too friendly however, but he did his job. My son eat my prime rib instead of his kiddie meal! i thought Hershey would have had more choices in the forms of desert, but the minis were wonderful. We made reservation to return next week! read more

Friendly waitress and bartending, good food, did not make up for the chilling reception at the desk. Very good menu, lots of healthy options. Beautiful lobby. read more

Just had the worst meal here. Service was absolutely awful, starting with the waitress being oblivious to the fact we were all out of water. We ordered our meals, including wanting salads to come out before our meal(which the waitress asked if we wanted). 50 minutes later our meal (including salads) came out. Our steaks were burnt on the outside and way over cooked in general. The asparagus was soggy. The pork chops were bland. The only good meal was the basic American burger. Other than that, nobody in our party was happy. We then ordered dessert, and despite waiting 25 minutes for it, it was very good. Overall, the service was a major issue as well as the burnt food. Would never go back, which is unfortunate because we live so close. read more

My wife brought me here on Father's Day. We had dined here on Mother's Day, and had a good experience, and my steak was excellent. We had reservations for 2:15. I was hoping for another enjoyable steak dinner. We were seated immediately, but waited "forever" for a waiter to come to bring us menus and water. We were served only from a brunch menu. So I had to settle for steak and eggs. Service was very slow. We had to remind the waiter twice to that we wanted coffee. The breakfast steak was truly the worst I had ever had, tasteless and tough. Guests at the neighboring table were also disappointed that they could not order from the dinner menu as well, and they were not happy with their service. This is the club-house restaurant for the Hershey Hotel, and had every reason to expect a great experience, but were severely disappointed. read more

Had my first and probably last experience eating here. I went with my family for a birthday dinner and honestly, the food is just okay. My biggest problem with everything is that nothing came out more than barely above room temperature. We ordered the homemade pierogies with creme fraiche and also the fingerling potatoes for appetitzers. The pierogies had a good flavor, but they were also a bit dry in texture and barely warm when they came out. I ordered the grilled hanger steak with roasted mushrooms, scallion and bacon whipped potatoes and a birch beer glaze. Again, my food came out barely warm. My steak was cooked perfectly medium, but the seasoning left something to be desired. One of the members of my party ordered braised beef short ribs and was brought baby back ribs instead; when she told the waitress that these were pork ribs and not the beef, the waitress insisted that they were the beef. She had to wait for the waitress to come back a second time to insist that they were definitely the wrong ribs and sat without food while they remade her order because it was indeed the wrong meal. Awesome! Her dinner was comped and apologies were made, but it still put a damper on the rest of the meal because she had to sit without food for 20 minutes while the rest of us ate. Dessert was probably the best part. I had one of their shooter desserts-- A blondie with maple whipped cream. Overall, I'd say this is overrated and overpriced and I probably wouldn't go back. read more

The Harvest Restaurant is located behind The Hotel Hershey on hotel property. Let's start with; it's expensive. But everything seems to be expensive at this hotel; see my hotel review. But it was a wonderful dinner; I ate here with my family; wife, daughter (13) and son (10). The restaurant has a very enjoyable relaxing atmosphere; upscale elegance but without being snobby. We dressed up, but there were people still in their park cloths too. The staff is very nice, attentive and eager to please. Everyone enjoyed their meal; actually dinner at Harvest was my wife's favorite activity during our 3 days at The Hotel Hershey. The food was very good. They had a bread; can't remember the name; that was AWESOME!! I couldn't stop eating it and I recently switched to a low carb diet; it sort of tasted like banana bread. I was excellent!! One neat aspect of this restaurant is everything is prepared with local ingredients; vegetables, grains, meat, etc... My wife started with the She Crab Soup and she loved it; I just kept eating bread... My son had the Baby Back Ribs; ate almost all of them, I had the Lobster Cobb Salad and my wife had the 8 oz filet. It was probably the best steak I've ever tasted and I've eaten at a few really nice steak houses; Morton's, Charley's, etc...We ended with the Molten Turtle Cake which again was delicious. Everything was just really good. So even though the dinner was a bit expensive, I highly recommend Harvest for that splurge meal... Enjoy... read more

I give a one star for atmosphere otherwise I would rate this place 0. If you are not use to eating good food then you would find this place ok. Otherwise for those of us who enjoy a good meal and dine out alot the food here is awful. For the price they charge its shameful how awful the food is. read more

I opened a Yelp account solely for the purpose of writing this review. I was absolutely stunned at how poor the quality of food was here. My wife ordered lamb shank which came out way overdone and tough, yet cold. I ordered grilled monkfish, which came out grey on the outside, raw in the middle, and also cold with a congealed bearnaise sauce. This was one of the worst meals we've had anywhere. We will never eat at a Hershey establishment again. read more

Just had brunch and I am extremely disappointed. I expected more from The Hotel Hershey. To start we asked for a gluten free menu from the seating hostess. She said she would check om that and she never returned. Pretty sure she had no idea what gluten free meant. We ordered the fruit plate to share and about 2 minutes in we found a live worm crawling put of a blueberry. We notified a person on the wait staff and that was taken off our bill. Then our meals came...I got the Surf and Turf Benedict. The steak was good, the English muffin was soggy from the ridiculously over cooked spinach. Spinach should be green not brown. The poached eggs could have been cooked 1 minute longer but they were ok. The potatoes were the best thing on my plate, they were very good. Too bad not all of them were cooked long enough. Overall I felt like it was the first serving job for the wait staff and unfortunately I felt the same way about the cook staff. I will definitely not be rushing back there anytime soon. read more

Arrived on a Sunday night to be told there would be an hour wait for a table. The other restaurant at the hotel was closed. So, we ate in the bar area at a table. We were told only light fare would be allowed due to a busy kitchen. The rice dinner salad was all spinach leaves, very little substance. The portabella with cheese was full of vinegar. Clams and soup were okay. We were denied a hamburger with french fries because THAT would take too much time. Very high prices for insubstantial light fare and the staff seemed not to care. read more

Great service from our waiter, but 3 of 5 meals came out completely wrong, and we needed to correct one order twice. Food was way off - not served as described as on the menu, which when pointed out they fixed. Not like it seemed different that what was written, rather it wasn't prepared properly. Really disappointing. Manager apologized, but made no effort to ensure the rest of our experience was ok... Not once did she come back out to check in. Soups were WAY too salty. Average - if that - food. This may have been an off day for them, but my three stars are only for the server. read more

Ok so we're foodies, I'll be the first to admit it. But this place is a true disappointment unless you have places like Fridays and Ruby Tuesdays at the top of your list. If you're looking for food to match the fussy surroundings of the hotel and Hershey, this place misses on all cylinders. The atmosphere is ok, tables set closely enough that you can hear the entire conversation of the people sitting next to you. So if you're looking for quaint and romantic this isn't it-decently kid friendly though if that's what you need. Average wine and beer lists, the standards are present but don't look for any craft beers or outstanding wines to go with your mediocre food. The salted caramel, I have to agree with another reviewer, was the highlight of the meal. Ribs were almost inedible, lamb was tender but bland along with the parsnip purée it was sitting atop. Overpriced and annoying to park. For the price, one of the worst meals we've had in a long time. read more

Have been always dining here, ever since the restaurant been open for business, since then the service is good, the food is superb, thats the reason why we keep going back, bec. we are also season pass holder!last time we were there,Aug. 10th,2011,table number 511,the name of the server is Tammy D,She is so rude,She slams the plates on the table,She swings the plate,She ended hitting my daughters nose, to make matters worse, she did not even apologized,She commented that my daughter is a brave girl.I never seen a server like her in my whole life,I am very surprised ,how did she got this job,if she's not happy doing her job!!!The food is horrible,I ordered an appetizer fried calamari, its so hard as a rock!I did not believed it,but ordered the appetizer twice, the last 2visits,I've been there with a span of week apart, still the fried calamari was cooked the same. I would conclude the service & food is horrible,I would suggest Devon Seafood Grill & Restaurant read more

The food is good, but the service is abusive. The servers know that you are a tourist and try and take advantage of you. Our server, for example, cheated us twice. The first time was when my child was ordering the sides for their meal. The waitress asked if they'd like fruit. Of course, we said yes. Fruit, she failed to mention, was $4 more. Next, we asked for one ice cream to split between two kids. Our waitress brought us two ice creams and charged us for both. Just be careful of the upsell and the abusive overcharging. read more

Had dinner at this restaurant on Saturday night while staying at the hotel. Everything about the meal was fantastic. I had the cranberry sangria, which was fruity and sweet. It was perfect to start off my meal. The bread on the table was fresh and good. For an appetizer, we had the cheese plate. The bleu cheese was my favorite and it was excellent. Not too strong, and perfectly complimented with the cranberry compote. The cheddar was initially too strong for me, but paired with the honey mustard, and it popped off nicely. For dinner, I had the special locally raised grass fed strip steak. It was hands down the best steak I've had in a really long time. It was tender, flavorful and cooked to perfection. The only gripe I have is that the bacon, scallion mashed potatoes were dry and could have been creamier. But other than that, the other sides - the mushrooms and creamed spinach were delicious. For dessert, we split the classic Hershey's chocolate pie. It's very decadent and chocolately - so if you are a chocolate addict like me, then you will be in love. I will dream about this meal until I get to eat it again! Highly recommend this restaurant. read more

When we first got there, the lady asked if we had reservations. When i said no, i thought she was going to have a hizzy fit by her looks and actions. After looking on her computer for a couple of minutes she never looked at us and instructed us to follow her. I guess she was trying to act sophisticated, but really. She seated us and told us our server would be Kaitlan. Kaitlan was very courteous had helpful with the menu. Two of us had ribeye steak, both medium rare and one had braised short rib shepherds pie. For being USDA prime, the ribeye was not what I expected. It was good just not really tender as I expected. On top of that, our server ordered the grass fed steak. $40. Grass fed. I'd rather have corn fed. Really! The shepherds pie was good but needed a sauce to moisten it up. Yep! A little dry. All in all the dinner was ok. Our server was good. We would not return because you do not get what you pay for. read more

My mom and I have a relatively new tradition of spending Christmas at the Hershey Chocolate Spa and then have a steak at Harvest. The restaurant is beautiful. It has lovely decor but is casual enough that you don't need to get super dressy. Every year our steaks and sides are perfect. We also get the soup sampler and I can't even tell you which is my favorite because they were all delicious, but if forced, the she-crab soup is perfection. We didn't get desserts this year because we were stuffed, but in the past they have been excellent. I would definitely recommend a special dinner out here! read more

We have visited this restaurant with and without our kids for a few years. I have to give kudos to Harvest for offering gluten free options and also providing you with locally harvested vegetables etc... They have one of the best kids menus I have ever seen with many options besides chicken fingers or pizza! I wish that they were open for breakfast as well considering the Hershey Circular Dining Room is the only available option at the Hotel. Check them out! read more

We stayed at the Hershey hotel and we dined here almost every night. The atmosphere is very welcoming and has a natural feel to it. The food was excellent and fresh from local farms. Service was outstanding and everybody was friendly. I would highly recommend dinning here. read more

Tried this tonight, and the first thing I must stress don't make the mistake we did and accept to sit outside. Although beautiful and a nice place to eat outdoors that gets destroyed when you have loud people screaming or kids crying or flipping their rocking chair as you are sitting near the fire pit where they do smores. Totally ruined our dinner ambience. Food was just okay, service was okay as well. We got the cheese plate which was good but would have been helpful if our server knew the cheeses that were plated. We asked her and she said she would let us know and never did. I got the chicken, tasteless, it was like they took the chicken boiled it and then smothered it with sauce. I returned it, not edible to me. My husband got the special strip steak, full of grizzle, very poor cut for the price we paid. Overall a mediocre experience, don't think on our next trip here would try read more

Great focus on local food. Beautiful building. Lunch prices are good. Couple of nice veggie options; good beers on tap.

We visited Harvest for Lunch a few days ago and were impressed. The service, food, and atmosphere are all top notch. My wife had a salad that came with lobster. I had a lunch special that included crab soup, a turkey sandwich, and small salad. We also tried a couple specialty cocktails, which were both very tasty. We'd like to go back for dinner in the future. read more

Just arrived home from a girls overnight getaway at Hotel Hershey. Harvest was selected for our Saturday night dinner for the farm to table concept and concierge recommendation. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. Not one out of six enjoyed their meal: three were served very fatty and crusty short ribs; two had salty and tough rotisserie chicken; and one had unappealing dry trout. We are not super picky people! The restaurant didn't even look like the photo and had a very unappealing odor from when we walked in. Two other things worth noting...bathrooms were not clean; even the doors were super dirty; and someone in our party has a celiacs issue and almost ordered an item that stated it was gf but it wasn't--there was a typo on the menu. If she hadn't doubled checked that it was gluten free she would have had a problem. On a positive note, the wine was good. I hate to give a bad review, but this was not at all what I expected on my first trip to Hotel Hershey. read more

Good restaurant, but probably not outstanding. Great view. Get a reservation near one of the windows in the back. We sat kind of in the middle of the room. I liked the atmosphere quite a bit but it can get pretty loud. It appears there is a room in the back for private parties that would be ideal if you had a large group. We took our kids and extended family. Don't forget to check out the game room around the corner and the pool table room that also had an indoor shuffleboard that the kids loved. There's also a bar room connected to the restaurant that looked inviting but we had the kids along. Maybe next time. It was raining, so we couldn't try the ice rink. Overall, I'll be back. read more

The food was very good, minus the french fries, they were soggy. The server on the other hand was curt. She would not let us substitute coleslaw for spinach. We were told coleslaw is only a garnish. Is it really a big deal to give me spinach? Cost is not much different. I felt uneasy and don't know if I would return. I asked for a doggy box and said I would like to box it mysel,f and she responded, are you sure? Yes, I am I asked to do so. She slammed plates down too hard on the table. As a business I would assume you want to make the customer happy. I was not. If I could rate the food, separately I would give the food a 4 service a 2 1/2. While we did leave a 20% tip because my friend does that, I would not have, given the service. read more

Service unrushed and polite. Food was very good. The crab soup was excellent if a little light on crab. Without a doubt the tour de force here are their desserts. Hard pressed to decide between the peanut butter pie or the chocolate cream pie. Have both! read more

Ate there for a work dinner. Lots of steaks at the same time. Mine was burnt on one end and almost rare on the other. Service staff was slow to come around, so it was easier to suck it up & find the sweet spot in the middle instead of making a fuss in front of the boss. read more

Wow... Couldn't believe how overpriced and generally not good the food and service were! Service was slow, staff had minimal knowledge of the menu and food was worse than underwhelming. Expected more as it was tied tithe Hershey Hotel. Definitely not worth it! read more

Not OK Hostess could add a bit of friendliness to her demeanor. Medium rare steak came medium well. Shared plates weren't split. Had to ask for an extra dish two times. Inexperienced?!! server asked how everything was, we reported the problem, and she said, "Sorry. So everything else is ok?," and walked away. 3 year old's hamburger from the kids' menu was raw throughout. Mushrooms were the one standout...other dishes were fine. Reported the problems to manager (aka hostess, as above) who did apologize, said no charge for the burger, offered replacements, and took food away to show the cook. Bills came after a LONG wait...server had difficulties splitting the bill and charged for a kids' side that she had listed as one of the included side choices. Only now were we told it was an extra charge for this selection. Wrong again! Back to the hostess manager, who agreed it was incorrect. MORE time waiting, with a 1, 3, and 4 year old. Took our credit cards... Another 25 minutes. We feel like we were part of an expensive (for us), failed training session for staff. This was meant to be a rare family gathering...we live outside Philly, Pittsburgh, and Rehoboth Beach, and this was the restaurant we chose for our one dinner. What a contrast with the excellent food and service poolside today. So sad this occurred...have eaten here before with much more positive experiences, but it won't be our choice next time. read more

We were here on 4th of July weekend with my family (party of 11), had an excellent meal of salmon, husband had the porterhouse and said it was the best he has had in a long time. The use of local farms really does make a difference. My mother said the baked potatoes from Lancaster County were the largest she has ever seen! The game room has a lot of activities to keep kids busy while waiting. We will definitely go back when we are in the area. read more

We found Harvest at Hotel Hershey to be mediocre at best. The decor was beautiful and our waitress was great - very attentive and knowledgable. We were seated by a large window and thoroughly enjoyed the view. That being said, the food was just not that good. We were a party of four and three of us were not happy with with our food - it was bland and tasteless. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich on flatbread with goat cheese. The chicken was dry as was the bread. Very disappointing! The one exception was the lobster roll my husband ordered - he said it was delicious. The one bright spot was dessert - everything we ordered for dessert was wonderful! read more

The ambiance was beautiful for this restaurant, but my food was not good. There were not many options at this restaurant, but I thought that the squash raviolis were a good choice. My husband ordered the salmon. He enjoyed his salmon, but my raviolis were not good (my husband even tried them and disliked them as well). The vegetables that I got with it were very hard and overly salted. I ended up sending my food back. But the peanut butter cup martini was good. read more

Worst meal at harvest. Cold food, overcooked food. 30 minutes to wait on entrees. Hamburger was like hockey puck. Usually good but this was over the top bad. Might want to wait a few months and hope there is new cook before visiting. read more

Service was very slow at 5:15 on a Saturday. Food was mediocre at best. I ordered the chocolate BBQ sauce chicken wings. They were actually pretty good. Nice and crispy and the sauce was good. My entree was the lamb shank in a parsnip puree. Lamb shank was mostly fat and looked like it had been braised about 4 hours too long. Parsnip puree was ok, but not great. My wife got the special which was a filet with crabcake for $46. She asked for medium rare and half the filet was raw/cold. Crab cake was dry. Vegetables weren't cooked enough. Our two friends both got the ribs which they said were decent, but not great. Came with about 2lbs of french fries which was a little excessive. I don't get how our service was so slow yet 3 of our entrees (2 racks of ribs and braised lamb shank) were already cooked. The filet was undercooked, yet we still waited 45 minutes for our food. Atmosphere inside was very nice, but we won't be going back. For the money, there are far better options. read more

This restaurant is associated with The Hotel Hershey so my expectations were high. The ambiance is very nice. Waitress was friendly enough. Manager was excellent. This is a farm to table restaurant so we were excited about that. My husband and I ordered side salads which were delicious. Lettuce, cucumbers, onion, tomato with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing. The bread and butter for the table was fantastic. Hubby ordered salmon and was able to choose two sides. He chose broccoli and mashed potato. He said his food was delicious but wasn't enough for him. I ordered the filet mignon with roasted potatoes and asparagus. Asparagus was good. Roasted potatoes were kind of hard. Filet mignon was ordered medium and came out well done. Sent it back. Hubby finished his entire dinner before my meal came. Waitress apologized but it literally took forever to get my steak. Finally came, I cut into it, well done once again. SUPER disappointed at this point but couldn't send it back again because we had somewhere to be. Waitress apologized and I tried to forget the fact that I'm eating the worst, driest piece of steak for $36. I guess they push the sauces when you order the steak because the chef clearly can't cook it properly and the sauce probably hide the fact that it's a dry, ruined piece of meat. Manager here is fantastic though. He came over and agreed that the steak was definitely not medium and he took it off the bill. He is the only reason this place got a 3. He saved the day! Will likely not be back next time we're in Hershey. read more

Horrible service and food!! We are local to Hershey and I've gone to Harvest multiple times. The one time we went and our chicken was badly burnt. Another time the bartender complained the whole time about wanting to go home. Also, it took a really long time to get the bartenders attention to order a new drink. The seats at the bar were not even filled. And tonight the TV in the game room wasn't able to play the basketball game. We went to stand in the bar area, but we were blocking people's view at the tables. So we stood behind the tables to be nice and was asked by the manager to move. And four people sitting at the bar, reserved an empty table for 7 people, even though they were not there. These tables are first come. When I asked to speak to a manager, they did nothing. We will be happy to go to The Mill, or Devons, Irv's, Houlihan's, or Chocolate Ave Grill. I normally don't write bad reviews, but I felt pretty upset with our experience and felt the need to share. read more
