Can't complain too much Came here for Saturday brunch and Harefield Road was A-OK in my book. The only annoyance that I have about the place is that it's 'cash only" policy, but I have talked about this policy quite a bit on other reviews. I just don't get a cash only policy this day and age at restaurants that serve booze. Getting a seat was relatively fast, about a 10 minute wait for a party of two. Note, this is one of those places where the entire party must be present in order to be seated. The brunch menu had a great variety; plus, you receive a coffee or tea and a mimosa or bloody mary with each plate. I went for the Harefield Road eggs (two poached eggs with salmon on an English muffin, home fries, and a fruit salad), which was pretty good (although my eggs were over poached). The food was pretty decent-not horrible but not super amazing. But then again, you can't really make poached eggs with salmon SUPER amazing. If you have a small party (2-3 people) and the wait for the table is more than 30 minutes, I would recommend finding another place to dine because the food, while good, is not worth waiting THAT long. That said, I really want to try the french toast when I visit the restaurant again. As for the service, the waitress and bartender were super friendly and were clearly great people persons. I definitely would like to revisit the place for the night bar vibe (as well as the french toast). read more

Highly recomended! The menu is small but varied. The atmosphere is nice, it has a bar, tables and an outdoor part. The waiters are very attentive and respectful. Also, while waiting you can consume coffee for free! I was on vacation here in Brooklyn and stumbled upon this amazing brunch spot! The food was delicious and great mimosas. It was a great deal too. Once and never again. Came several years ago for brunch and a soccer game. Sat right by the kitchen on high and uncomfortable chairs. When the food finally came out mine and my partners was beyond bland. It was as if everything was cooked without any flavor, even the veggies were bland. Perhaps that day was a brain fart day on their part I never plan to find out. What I did enjoy and thought was quite comedic was the restaurant lack of at attentiveness. So picture an untouched plate of food on a table in a restaurant (as I mentioned the food was bland so I didn't touch it). You have the image? Now you'd expect someone to come by and ask, well, anything. Nope not one person. My partner finished what they could (they ate two pieces of ham). The busboy come by, places her plate on mine and puts them in the garbage bin they have.... Maybe now that the check is coming someone will ask something. Nope we paid for one meal and left. Yes we took it upon ourselves to give us great customer service. I gave my self a generous tip for being so accommodating. Overall I'd say there are a ton of restaurants around so this is a hard pass. read more

Yum!! The first thing you'll notice about this place when you walk in, is the huge bar and the fact that the tables are not really well...Real tables. Let me explain. The tables are ones that fold and then there are folding chairs. There is also a long picnic-style table in the back with a bench. It adds to the feel of the restaurant, though. We went here for New Years day brunch and for $12 we received unlimited mimosas/bloody mary's, coffee/tea, and an entree of our choice from the brunch menu. I had the Harefield Eggs which are similar to eggs benedict except they use salmon instead of Canadian bacon. So good. The fruit on the side was also extremely fresh. The home fries are excellent minus the fact that they are super spicy if you're drinking them with tea or coffee. So why not 5 stars? Cash only. Conveniently located very close to the Graham Street L stop. I went here with my sister for Sunday brunch. We arrived shortly after they opened and I'm glad we did because the place was pretty full by the time we were done eating. The cash only brunch is VERY reasonably priced. Also, they serve huevos rancheros and leave the hot sauce on the table -- so that's 3 wins in my book. My only complaint is that the mimosas that accompanied our brunch entrees arrived in miniature champagne flutes, so they definitely aren't full-sized. We also weren't offered refills or additional cocktails (which I would have happily paid for), so that was kind of a bummer. read more

Really amazing brunch place (available Saturday and Sunday) in Williamsburg. I love it!! I went here last month on a Saturday and I still can't forget about the amazing brunch I had for only $12. This includes coffee or tea, your main dish, and then a mimosa or bloody mary. The smoked salmon benedict was perfectly poached and I loved their seasoned potatoes that came with the benedict. The meal was absolutely appetizing. Harefield is the reason I enjoy waking up early on weekend mornings. PS-Cash only. We were looking for something close to our Airbnb for brunch and this place seemed to fit the bill. Food looked good and $15 for a meal and a drink seemed like a great deal. We walk in about 15 minutes after they opened that morning and all the tables were taken. No problem, we take a seat at the empty bar and put in our order. So far so good. 20 minutes or so go by, and there is no sign of our food. I wouldn't have been concerned if the food of the people around us hadn't start coming out before ours. Another 5 minutes go by and I suspect that they forgot to put our order in. I check with the bar tender who goes to the back and she claims that "it's coming." The guy next to us who ordered 5 minutes after us had nearly finished his meal. Another 10-15 minutes go by and at this point it's pretty clear they had forgotten our order. Not only that, but they kept lying to us about it and said the kitchen was short handed that day. Weird, because it seemed we were the only group who did not get food in a timely manner that morning. It was at least 45 minutes after we ordered and we no longer had time to eat because we had a matinee on Broadway to catch so we ended up telling them to cancel the order and walked out. Forgetting to put in the order initially is annoying but not a huge deal. Just tell us what happened, offer an apology, and we would have been understanding. Mistakes happen. Lying, making up excuses, and telling us the food would be right out really makes things so much worse. Pretty unfortunate. read more

Saturday around 1 for 2 with no wait time. The deal is amazing-$13 for entree and coffee or tea and a mimosa or Bloody Mary. I got the harefield Benedict which was a salmon Benedict, and my boyfriend got the special salad. Harefield Benedict: good delicious, nice poached eggs. Only bad part was that the muffins were on the crunchy side, I prefer mine less toasted. The home fries were delicious and have a little spicy kick to it, which was fine and I got to wash it down with the mimosa. My boyfriends special salad was good, the chicken was a bit too spicy for me (I don't handle spices well). Will return with a larger group next time. Oh, and cash only. read more

Went in for brunch. The place is very nicely decorated. Has an outdoor eating area in the back but didn't eat out there because it was a breezy rainy day. Food: Brunch comes with a drink, my friend and I got mimosas. We had the special, which was an omelette with bacon, spinach, tomatoes and cheddar cheese. Soooo good and it came with a side of salad and home fries. Service: Quick and friendly. Only problem with this place is that it is cash only. I would definitely go back. Hands down the best place and value for brunch in NYC. The food is consistently delicious and there is no wait most of the time. I come here at least once every week or so for brunch. My recommendation on the menu is definitely the huevos rancheros and the veggie burger. If you have a party of two, you can also ask them to split the two for you. $14 for food and a mimosa or bloody mary? I THINK SO. This place is awesome for multiple reasons. 1. It is cute af. It also has a back patio that is open and perfect for a beautiful day. 2. Service is excellence. 3. All brunches have an alcoholic beverage included in the price. 4. Additional mimosas are only $5. 5. THE FOOD IS AWESOME. I had the avocado eggs Benedict and my boyfriend had huevos rancheros. I enjoyed my meal it was excellent, but if I am ever in Brooklyn again I will definitely go for the Huevos rancheros. They were out of this world. The flavor was incredible. Portions were perfectly sized. The breakfast potatoes were above average. This review is about their service, not the food. So I went with my friend for brunch. She had her dog with her. We picked that place because my friend said that NY passed a law that if a restaurant has outdoor seating, they cannot refuse service for people who have dogs. So the host took us to the back patio. She was very nice. We got seated, then another lady came in and told us that they didn't allow dogs. So my friend asked her why not, with that law in mind, and the lady was like, "we just don't allow it, what's there to argue about?" So she told her about the law. The lady was like, oh maybe it's allowed if it's on the sidewalk, but not in back. So no problem, we got up and left. I asked her if they allow service dog. She said "yes, but that's not a service dog." However, my friend's dog is a service dog but she didn't have the document with her. We understanding that we couldn't stay, but that lady's attitude and tone was really bad during the time, and how she made assumption and answered question like getting back at you was pretty rude. Love Harefield. They do a great pre-fix brunch on the weekends- $12 for a brunch entree, coffee or tea, and a bloody mary or a mimosa. Harefield makes their own bloody mary mix, and you can tell. It's spicy and delicious. I've had a few different brunch options- eggs Benedict, the breakfast burrito, the French toast, and the huevos rancheros. All were cooked perfectly and were delicious. For $12, the portions aren't insignificant either. I always waddle out of there somewhat buzzed and feeling fat and happy. Brunch tends to get crowded, so get there before 12 if you don't want to wait. If you're stuck waiting, the owner is very friendly and will give you a realistic estimate on your wait time- there's some cute thrift stores on the block, so there are fun ways to kill time while you wait for your table. There's also free coffee available (self serve) for people waiting. Old Speckled Hen's on tap too, so that's usually how I spend my wait time. On weeknights, Harefield gets pretty quiet and you can bring food in from outside. I've been known to bring in a burrito from around the corner and post up in their backyard area with a beer. It's great in the warmer months- low key with a good vibe. They do a good happy hour too. All in all, it's pretty typical Williamsburg, but the food and cocktails taste great, it's got a cute atmosphere, and great prices. The bartenders are usually very sweet and friendly too. This Sunday I found myself in Wburg (which for me has not lost its exotic allure) and in this distant land experienced a fantastic brunch. Everyone has said it, but $12 for coffee, a cocktail, and a brunch meal is AMAZING! The wait was a little long, but we got to sit on the back patio and enjoy the weather. The service was great. The environment was relaxed and put us all at ease. This would be a lovely place to make your neighborhood brunch-home, which is something we each should have. I was shocked - SHOCKED! - when Bryant M. and I went to pay our one-drink-each post-Yelp-event beer tab and it was not even ten dollars. I seriously almost fell off my barstool. When I saw this for the first time, I immediately thought, oooh my kind of place - a BAR! I was in the neighborhood for three days this week (Yelp House Party to Fight Hunger, FTW!), so I walked by a total of 5 times before giving in to... heritage? Natural inclincation? My absolute classiness? I took with me one of my besties, the lovely and wonderful Bryant M. of Columbus Yelp Elite fame, and we enjoyed every single aspect of this lil' gem on Metropolitan in East WIlliamsburgh. The bar itself is gorgeous - soft lighting, dark wood, murmuring patrons... and the bartender was the kindest gentleman in all the land. I had run out of cash and asked him if he minded if I went to an ATM. Joking that I needed to leave Bryant as collateral (lol well kind of joking, one of us did need to stay), he said there was no need to go right away, that we could go before we left. If you've had this bartender before, you have to know who I'm talking about... I believe he was British, but with the slight din I couldn't quite tell where exactly he was from. He was the sweetest, gentlest, pub-ish-ey-est man every I did meet. He alone is worth making the trip. You will be well treated here. I will definitely be back. I think another thing that drew me in is that Harefield Road was not packed, but it was definitely not over-crowded, which i find obnoxious. The noise level was also very... adult. Harefield Road is a great place, but go at the wrong time and you will be sorry. For example, brunch after noon will leave you raging at the wait, the service, and the drastically pared-down portions. However, if you arrive early and are satisfied with reasonable portion sizes, HR is a solid brunch. Not dazzling, but solid. Definitely arrive before the wait staff starts crumbling (occurs sometime between noon and 1 PM). Also, if you're ever tempted to stop by for "one last drink" after 2 am, resist the urge. Recently my boyfriend and I pegged a post-2 am HR as a meeting ground for lonesome, very drunk, and sometimes-creepy people. We've were once propositioned by swingers and our table has been invaded by solo drinkers on auto-pilot, among other early morning unsolicited encounters with strangers. Keep it between 5 pm and 12 am. However, they have the best-ever beer on tap (Belhaven), a generally awesome beer list (sayeth my boyfriend, the beer nerd) (all very reasonably priced), $4 well cocktails, a charming woody aesthetic, and a nice grilled cheese. I chose a mimosa as my one drink included in the $12 deal, and it was refreshing. I found this place buy googling cheap brunch brooklyn and came across this site called brokelyn.com, and I was sold at $12 prix fixe. What really got me was the fact that $12 also includes a Mimosa, say whaaaat? My bestie and trekked our hungry asses all the way from Jamaica Queens to treat ourselves to a great brunch. We were initally told there would be a 30 minute wait but we started chatting up a couple sitting at the bar (they serve at the bar too, OMG!!) who were actually nice enough to give us their seats when they were leaving. We took full advantage of the free self serve coffee at the bar, which was delicious by the way. The ambiance was very nice, this place is huge but was still very warm and inviting. When we ordered our food there was a little snafu but nothing they couldn't bounce back from (we got the wrong order), but for $12 and a mimosa I'm NOT complaining. I don't remember what I ordered, but I do remember scarfing it down while a really cute couple who lives just down the street kept us company. This is the perfect East Williamsburg neighborhood bar. Technically it's a Irish Pub (the founders are of Irish heritage), but it's a long way from the traditional Irish Pub one finds in Midtown Manhattan. The interior is tastefully plain, just with a long bar and a few tables. There is a good selection of craft beers and whiskeys for good prices. Small snacks are available from a sandwich grill behind the bar. Alternatively, you can get something from one of the take out places around. We go here typically for happy hour for a chat with the bartender and other patrons. Later in the evening, the place can get too crowded for our taste. There's also an insanely popular brunch on weekends (which we avoided so far). But most of all, it's that kind of bar where you walk in and feel at home. That makes it for us the first place we think about, when cabin fever strikes. read more

I'm not usually into having brunch in bars because they smell like rank beer from the night before, you see them during daylight which makes you realize what a craphole you're usually hanging out in, etc. but Harefield totally cleans up nice in the light of day. At 3pm on a Sunday (we're late risers, what can I say) we got seated in five minutes. The crowd is hipster/gentrifying locals, everyone about 29 and fashionably unkempt. $11 buys you coffee or tea, a mimosa or bloody mary, and one of various breakfast entrees (eggs benedict, french toast) or sandwiches (burger, clubs). I had the salmon benedict and it was YUMM. BF had the turkey club which also looked good. The food isn't incredible, but totally solid. Truly a neighborhood gem. I brunch, and I brunch hard. This is one of the best local spots for a dress down, roll-out of bed brunch with cocktails. Not an "all you can drink", but a drink all you can... spacious seating, delicious food and super affordable delicious food. Great service, coupled with a very large brunch menu (I adore variety, even though I usually order the same favorite from each place I go) makes this place sublime. Busy, wait time can very, though very reasonable. Backyard seating, indoor seating, bar for after brunch drinks, all a minute walk from local public transportation. My local watering hole. If you get in between 4-8pm on weekdays, they have all Brooklyn beers for $3. Everything is reasonably priced any other time. At happy hour, the lights are bright and music low, perfect for finishing up that last bit of work on the lappy (with wifi) or reading a book. Later, the music (ipod driven by each bartender) gets a bit louder and the lights a little darker. The backyard deck is perfect for smokers and taking advantage of the nice weather. The decor is all rustic wood, from the floor to the benches to the ceiling. Bar staff is very friendly and beer/wine selection is very generous. Good rotation on the choices as well. If you think of stopping by, give me a 'yelp', haha! UPDATE: They no longer have Brooklyn beers due to the increase in keg prices, but an excellent rotating beer selection can always be had!! read more

I was in there a few Sundays ago. Some guys started arguing over which was better, memosas or bloody marys and it turned into an all out brawl! At one point, they were locked in some kind of cobra clutch and crashed into these girls' table and spilled huevos rancheros all over the place. Well, the girls didn't like that to much so they got up and started really pounding on the guys. It was around then that the bartender had finally had enough. He jumped over the bar and dealt with the fiasco post haste. Dude moved like lightening.
