Decided to try out Hardy coffee this week and loved it! I tried their seasonal Autumn drink (can't remember the exact name), it had cinnamon and orange. I was a little hesitant because I wasn't sure how the flavors would go together but it was delicious! We also wanted to try their horchata latte but were told that it was seasonal and wasn't there now. However our barista offered to make a vanilla, honey cinnamon latte that would be close to the same flavor which was so kind and helpful! This location has lots of tables and open space so you don't feel crowded or like you're listening to other peoples conversations. This place would be great for doing homework, and they have a few different places for outlets. We came to read our Bibles and the only note is that the music playing was a little loud but not so much that you couldn't think or converse. Overall we will be back, their baked goods look amazing! read more

The coffee is just okay. I got a white chocolate mocha and it tasted just like a cappuccino and nothing more.

i've always been a huge fan of Hardy Coffee! i normally go to the location in Benson to study, but this time went to their somewhat newer location downtown and as always, wasn't disappointed. this downtown location is great for studying, chatting, or jus chilling. they have great cinnamon rolls and other pastries, as well as other quick bites. their options for coffee and tea are endless, as well as redbull and olipop are sold there too if you're not a huge fan of coffee and teas. came here today with a couple friends to catch up. there was a relatively long line when we first got with just one barista. i figured it would take some time but nope, we zoomed right along! i got an iced oat milk latte with honey and cinnamon :) this is the one drink i will only ever get at Hardy because they make it so darn good! we were able to get a table to sit down and catch up. there's a wide variety of tables there with good amount of plug ins if you need them for laptop or cellphone chargers. as always, left Hardy not disappointed and ready to come back! read more

Hip coffee shop in the Old Market. Great for a working meeting with a pour over or baked good. Spacious interior and chill vibes; lots of students were camped out and studying. Currently there is limited indoor seating; on a Sunday afternoon, folks were standing and waiting for a table to open. The outdoor seating will be nice once the weather warms up. Sad to say there was only one employee working when I visited. I'm not sure if this is always the case, but it took 20 minutes for my chai latte ($5) to be prepared. Hope you're not in a rush when you order your coffee! Buy some beans, tea, or gear to bring home with you. There are monthly subscriptions available for frequent customers. Stopped in after the farmers market this weekend. Hardy roasts their own beans right here in Omaha and their house Benchmark roast makes for a great cup. Tasting notes I'd say dark chocolate, green apple +/- citrus and baking spices. Made all the more enjoyable by the cinnamon roll that was moist and chewy throughout. The space is has the quintessential coffee house vibe with lots of seating of different styles (tables, high top bench, couch etc) plenty of outlets. It's a great spot I will continue to frequent. Need to make an effort to work through all the speciality roasts. read more

It has a nice seating are inside to get out of the heat or rain. I had the cold brew and ordered a bag of beans from the baristas limited knowledge of their selection. Usually when you buy a bag of beans you get a free drink but not here. Also roasters usually have their beans available to look at so you know what your getting instead of solid paper bags and uninformed barista. read more

They also make a great vegan cinnamon roll that they sell during the Old Market Farmers Market. There's typically plenty of sitting space if you need to meetup with anyone or a group. The coffee is not my favorite and there are only specific servers who make mind-blowingly good chai. That said, they're brave in their ingenuity. Do yourself a solid and get the membership for the discounts so you can test the different menu items. The chai latte was delish, loved the blueberry muffin. When I went to toss my cup and napkin my germaphobe alarms started to wail. The garbage can had a visibly dirty lid that had to be lifted off the can. After I tossed my trash and replaced the lid I headed for the bathroom to wash cooties off my hands. I expected better things from Hardy based off Yelp reviews and because they were listed on some blogs for best coffee spots in Omaha. Service here was lacking. It took forever to get my drink and there was only one person ahead of me. I ordered my usual iced American with oat and vanilla and the first time they messed up and had to remake it. When I got my drink there was barely any ice and the flavor itself was kinda meh. You couldn't taste vanilla in it and the espresso too wasn't great. Also one of the baristas almost ran us over when we were walking to the shop. Apparently she doesn't believe in stopping at stop signs and we were already at the crosswalk when she came blazing through. Gee thanks! Wouldn't recommend and definitely wouldn't come back. read more

My room mates and I are caffeine junkies and traveled from Kansas City to Omaha just for your Caffeine Crawl. Aromas Coffeehouse was our favorite coffee shop during the crawl. What made them so special was that they home-make their own chai. This chai was incredible; made with fresh ingredients, we couldn't get enough! After the Crawl demonstration where we were provided samples of their drinks, we went to the counter and ordered our favorite drink in the world: a dirty chai. The barista who made our dirty chais perhaps was confised by the order because what we got was nothing like we expected. But the owner was delightful and accomdating. She listened to our concerns and remade our drinks for us. We were so impressed by the chai (seriously, coun't get enough) that we came back to Aroma's the next day and special ordered a bottle of their chai mix to take with us to Kansas City. A very solid, local coffee shop in Omaha offering up all the usual suspects with regards to coffee & espresso drinks including French press. I do like how these guys serve up Beansmith beans, a local roaster. However, stocking bags that were roasted nearly two months ago isn't the best practice. On that note, my French press coffee tasted somewhat watered down so perhaps the grind was off. The staff here are friendly and helpful and the place would be great with some honing on the execution. It's a nice spot and far enough from Blue Line or Starbucks that it's a place I end up every once and a while. But when I do, I prefer to get tea instead of coffee. I'm not sure what kind of beans they use or where they come from, but for some reason I'm just not a huge fan of their coffee. This place has changed hands a few times since I was first a patron here in 2006. What hasn't changed is the large space they occupy and the quiet environment to have social conversation or study. I've always found this coffeeshop to be very good for studying because of outlets Wi-Fi and a large space between tables so you're not too close to your neighbors. As far as the drinks I've found they are pretty standard for a coffee shop nothing that Wows me but nothing terrible. It has a nice location in the old market tucked a little further apart from most of the other shops and restaurants. Parking can be kind of a pain though in that area and don't forget you're going to have to pay the meters. My most recent visit I tried one of the vegan gluten-free cupcakes and it was super good very moist and the icing was not too sugary. I very much enjoyed my chocolate peanut butter cupcake. I think aromas is a nice spot in the old market to have a drink and a chat with friends or study for something you need to get some work done for. PS-dog friendly patio! read more
