I like the vibe at this location. The inside seating is kind of back away from the counter which actually makes it quieter. Not hearing the noise form the counter makes focusing on homework easier for me. The drinks are really good and the breakfast burritos are awesome too. Very nice, clean, and welcoming coffee shop. Went with my wife and daughter after church on Sun. My wife looked over the reviews and seen many great things were said. The staff was informative, and friendly. My wife asked for something similar to what she gets at starbucks, and the young lady suggested a turtle sub white mocha for dark chocolate. She loved it. My daughter had the oatmeal raisin cookies and a apple juice. She tore it up. Lol. I had a medium turtle coffee and a blueberry scone. Pretty tasty. Faily priced but we will be back. They have so many outlets here perfect for charging your electronic devices and study all day/all night! They serve bliss bakery goodies, the red velvet cupcake being yummy, although my partner thinks, its too cream cheesy! Earl grey here is pretty light and not too strong in flavor, but good, but seems to have a decent amount of caffeine in it! They serve beansmith coffee using a kickapoo roaster which is really good too! Oh and Ive been to their cupping events and visited them on the caffeine crawl which was informational and fun! Vegan Bliss Vegan cupcake heaven!!! I need to order a sheet cake and normally would make the cake myself but won't be able to. So I searched online and was delighted to find several bakeries that could do a vegan sheet cake. The price here was better than some so I thought I would try Aroma Bliss first. I contacted them through the internet and they got back to me quickly on what my flavor options are and I said I wanted to come in and buy a couple to see if I thought it would be good for my big vegan outreach event. When I arrived I spoke to Phil who had helped me by email and got his advice. I selected two two try. Sad that they charge .25 cents more for vegan, so each was $3.50. HEAVEN at first bite. Anyone wanting a decadent, cruelty free treat, this is it. No one could tell it is vegan, not sure why all cupcakes are not vegan because it is just so delicious. I am looking forward to getting my cake for my event and would recommend them to anyone wanting a sweet treat. The first time I came here I made the mistake of getting a flavored latte. I love the coffee taste so for me it was too sweet. Came back for an almond milk latte and it was perfect. I ordered a cake and donuts for a surprise birthday while out of state and the staff was amazing and helpful with the time frame. Whenever I visit Omaha, a visit to Aromas is a must. My favorite drinks include the dirty chai, apple cider chai or just a traditional latte. They do it all extremely well. Also, their baked goods are stellar! Bliss bakery, 'Cupcake Wars' participants, are on the forefront of excellent cupcakes. If you like cupcakes, do not miss out on this gem! Okay Aromas, I have to bump you down a star. I came in yesterday to study again. And the barista wasn't very friendly at all. Typical, "I'm too cool for you hipster." Who explained to me how to use the iPad to pay. Dude, I've been here lots of times, I can figure out the iPad. Plus...I'm a young 20 something, we're all pretty tech savvy. #justsaying I got an iced mocha and it was $4.50 and it wasn't really anything special at all. I'd stick to their hot coffee options. Also to make things worse, it was ridiculously busy yesterday, which I really just despise. It's a great place to study when it's not crowded. A nice and spacious Old Market coffee spot that champions locally-roasted beans. I'm sold. I've had many-a meetings at Aromas and plan on having many-a-more here in the future. I have to say I'm also a big fan of how they moved the coffee bar to the front of the shop -- before there were two separate cashier stands, one in the front for a bakery and another tucked in the back for coffee. Not being a big coffee drinker, what appealed to me the most about Aroma's was the bakery selection and a quiet atmosphere to get some studying done. I LOVE cinnamon rolls, so I decided to enjoy one while I studied and let's just say I spent more time delicately eating the roll more than focusing on my academics. Delicious! Only thing that somewhat bothered me was that the rolls were not covered at the counter but I decided to look passed that. Also, I wished it was toasted to warm it up instead of the microwave cause it got tough within 5 minutes or so. I am looking forward to trying out more of the sweet selection and some of the teas! Probably my favorite coffee house in all of Omaha. The atmosphere is clean, cozy, and quiet. The service is good. Plus they also have tables and chairs outside for all you who wish to enjoy your beverages or baked goods outside. A quiet place to sip a hot (or cold) caffeinated beverage and work, this is my first choice. If you're looking to bring a couple friends down to have coffee or tea and chat a little, do not let this review discourage you. It might be quiet but all around, it still have a chill atmosphere where you are safe to mingle. They also have a bakery. It's absolutely fantastic. I believe you can even order for special events. Fast, free internet ... bottomless coffee ... great location! Parking is on the street but if you park on 11th, the meters allow for longer lingering. They have great coffee and lots of tables (with outlets) if you want to do some work while you're sipping. They also have lots of local artists displayed, with the art for sale, if you want. The option to get a handmade single-brew cup of coffee is my baseline criteria for a good coffee shop, and Aromas exceeds that standard with French press, Clever Dripper, and Chemex options, not to mention a lengthy menu of espresso choices. My Clever Dripper was exactly what I hoped for: a medium roast with lots of flavor but not too much sharpness or tangyness. Small groups of people scattered themselves throughout the spacious, industrial/warm shop; only a few people came into the shop in the hour or two I was there, but none of the entrenched customers looked to be in a hurry to leave, either. Finished drinks lay on tables, including my own; I was able to read and listen to music on my headphones without having to crank the volume up in order to drown out the store music. As a visitor to Omaha, I feel that Aromas acted on behalf of the city in graciously extending a place for me to relax and enjoy a few quiet hours. read more

I would honestly stop here every morning if the location was more convenient but sadly Jones Street is tore up and such a rough road that I play my visit by ear depending on time and patience. I feel like I am screwing up my vehicle just attempting to drive that road, it is really bad. I come to Aromas for the location, particularly their big ol' honkin' patio out front. I got out there on my most recent annual Omaha trip to enjoy the last warm day of the year, even though it was windy and the patio's in the shade of the building. I wish I had brought headphones, because there's no music out there, as it would have made kicking back out there all the nicer. I like the place better with the counter up front. Apparently they've joined up with the bakery that was semi-adjoined, which is a good step. Still the same hipster crowd and staff, but also still the same good coffee. I recall they had three varieties of drip coffee to choose from, with a range of darkness/boldness in the roasts. I had the Guatemalan this last time, and it was really good. They seem to do a pretty brisk business. Place was fairly full when I was in there on a Tuesday afternoon, and it's been pretty full when I've been in there in the past. Good for them: it's a good place. I'll continue coming. read more

However, friends wanted to meet up for Friday morning coffee and friends are more important than coffee options (sometimes), so rather than argue, I went with the crowd. Well...certainly things have changed a bit. The counter has been moved to the front of the house where the bakery used to reside. The space is, as a result, a bit more open feeling. While they still have a nice selection of baked goods, the service is still slow and a bit spotty. Ordered the pineapple bar upon their recommendation (wrong) and a large coffee. Asked about having my coffee NOT in paper (I hate that odd paper flavor that ruins a cup of coffee) and was denied. Thanks to the 2013 Coffee Tour organized by Sarah G, my go-to coffee places are elsewhere and closer to my home and work, so Aromas will continue to be that spot I pop into occasionally when friends throw out the request. read more

An overall reliable go-to coffee shop for me. Comfortable and spacious. They always play good music and have reliable wifi. It can get really busy depending on what time of day you come, yes. But that's what's expected for a successful lil coffee shop. If you're expecting to have a comfortably easy parking situation then that's your problem. It's in the Old Market so, again, depends on what time of day you come by. There is cheap meter parking on the west side of the building ($.25/hr) and even free parking on the south side if you're willing to walk a block or two. The baristas aren't always the friendliest but I'm not on a mission to be best friends with them so their indifference doesn't really bother me. And it keeps in cheaper for me with not giving me much reason to tip... This place is loved by the downtown locals in general and worth checking out. read more

The coffee is great here. Strong but not bitter. They use top quality beans and milk products and homemade pumpkin flavoring in the fall. You can taste the difference. The service can be slow. For example, the barista didn't know how to process my Amazon local deal. The staff are in the lax side, which isn't so bad if you're not in a hurry. I really wanted to like this place because it was so cool looking inside. It was really large and open and the back wall had different colored woods that made a wall and it was really cool. However lets first start with parking. There is nothing.. Eventually we found out how to get into the structure across the street but it was $1 so that's frustrating. Once we finally parked and got in the guy wasn't rude but he wasn't very friendly. Just kinda quietly there. My mom got a iced green tea. Basically water. I got the apple chai and it was disgusting. I ended up mixing in half water and it helped but I could barely drink it. The location was cool, and I liked Omaha but I wish I ordered something else.. Maybe this woulda helped. read more
