There are elevators on site and carts to move your items in and out of the units with ease. I recommend purchasing a lock on site. It is easier with this lock than a normal padlock. There are four sizes of the rooms. The largest is a large 10x15. I find getting the largest unit was better and few dollars more for the unit value. The next is 10x10. They have two smaller units. When you select a unit, be to remember your access code. You are going to need it to where the units are and to ride the elevators. Be sure to return any cats you use, it's a good sign of proper use in a storage facility. The two top mangers Paula and Howard are super nice along with the rest of the staff. You have a three day grace period to pay your dues before a late charge is applied. To prevent late charges, they accept auto pay. The units are open 9:00am to 9:00 pm Monday -Sunday. The staff is on duty from 9am-6pm. Be sure to be out by 9:00 or you will get locked in. They also have boxes and pack stuff in the office.

There has been a known rodent problem since September that management has failed to properly address or communicate to tenants. Several of my belongings were damaged, and others exposed to mice excrement as pictured. The only response from management has been to place glue traps, which do nothing to resolve the larger issue. When I requested to move units because of the infestation, I was initially offered a new one at a higher rate, which I found shocking and poor customer service, and then moved to another unit on the same floor--only to find that one quickly infested as well. Despite acknowledging the rodent issue, management offered no meaningful assistance or compensation beyond insurance that didn't cover the extent of the damage. This experience was extremely disappointing. Avoid storing your items here, and if you are currently stored on the 3rd floor, I would strongly suggest checking your items for signs of rodents.

They have music playing through the speakers sometimes, and the attendants at the front desk, especially Cat, are extremely accommodating and nice. Rates are a bit pricey, but with the way they run this place I see why. Beats the climate control over in Little Elm, at least.

On the bright side, this forced us to seriously consider whether we wanted to spend money storing stuff we were not using (mostly extra dining chairs and holiday decorations). Their website says 10 X 10 would cost under $100, but staff said that was for new customers. New customers -- be aware that once you move all your stuff to the unit, there will be repeated price increases. We asked staff about a less expensive unit (5 X 5) and were shown a terrible unit with a large pole that took up about 1.5 X 1.25 of the space in the unit. This made our decision easy, but that decision was even easier as the gentleman showing us the unit said these units were going fast, this Cubesmart was a prime location, etc. etc. Please. We were also told we needed to "broom sweep" the unit when we moved out, then they backed down when I pointed out that the unit was not swept when we moved into the unit (in spite of the sign on the wall stating it had been swept). On the bright side, the place was clean and climate controlled and had a massive generator. For this reason, I am giving two stars instead of one star. Still, there are so many other climate controlled self storage options in the Austin area. I would avoid this place just because of the price increases. For $176 a month, we should expect a working keypad for access to the unit. Better yet, sell or donate stuff you don't need or want. Read some Don Aslett for inspiration. For example, we somehow had THREE artificial Christmas trees in our unit, for example. Why? Each was a different size and it was easier to just put them in the storage unit instead of facing up and donating and selling two of the trees and putting one tree in our garage. That is just one example of the sort of stuff we are decluttering.

The person working the front desk (Kim) was incredibly friendly and helpful, despite needing to attend to several customer issues at once. After taking all my information, she put me in contact with Frances, the general manager, who made time for my concern and was able to answer all my questions. She was patient and professional and we were able to remedy the situation. Sometimes things go wrong but I was very thankful to have these two great employees assisting me. Thank you, Frances and Kim!

Upon entering the facility, workers were in the back and others outside not looking as though they were happy to be at work. Once greeted, I informed the worker (assuming he was the manager) I was returning equipment. He said thanks, I'll send you the receipt. I then asked if he was going to inspect the equipment, he just repeated himself that he'll send a receipt in a condescending tone. Proper protocol would have been to inspect the equipment while I was there to ensure no discrepancies. To be on the safe side, I did take pictures of everything. Luckily the additional charges were what I expected. Please provide better communication training to workers.
