Delicious comfort food, kind service, pleasant harbor view (if you're not in front of a tree), warm atmosphere, LGBTQIA friendly, plenty of parking even with a significant crowd, and a waitress who ensured our bloody mary's and mimosas were extra hefty! Absolutely recommend for brunch or an adequate lunch before hitting the town. Don't forget to leave pets at home or crack a window in the vehicle - the signs are clear, so you have NO reason to complain. Honestly, folks, don't judge an unassumed book, by it's ramshackle cover, as our initially hesitant expectations were immediately met and surpassed soon after being seated. Congratulations. We highly anticipate next year's visit during our annual LGBT cross country food escapade! read more

Harbor View Cafe - As seen here, we ordered Everything Omelettes - one sans tomatoes and the other with crab meat. - Cafes Near Me - Long Beach, Mississippi

Kathy and I went to try Harbor View tonight. They have relocated into a new building on Jeff Davis Avenue, the main street in Long Beach. We had never eaten at either of their other two locations, but we have heard good things. Kathy is really a sandwich person and she ordered the combo club sandwich (****) which came with chips. I am really trying to eat healthier and to lose some weight so I tried the grilled fresh gulf fish which today the waitress said was ma-hi ma-hi (**). The fish came with a house salad and choice of pasta or rice pilaf. The low score on the fish is because it was slightly overdone. The worst thing you can do to a fish is overcook it. For the same money I could have gone to Bonefish, where they really know how to prepare fresh fish. Not a great review for them but I am giving them another chance. I will go back and try something different and let you know. Almost left out the server review, the young lady did a good job. They were very busy. read more

Great for breakfast lunch and dinner. My family eats here at least once a week. Make sure you check your to go order before leaving. I don't think they have ever gotten my order correct the first time. read more

This place is beautiful on the inside. The staff were friendly and the food was ok. Nothing to go crazy over, but I'd definitely return should I be in the immediate area and need a bite. read more

Harbor View Cafe - Omelette with pepper jack cheese, avocado, tomatoe, and spinach. Cheese grits and wheat toast. - Cafes Near Me - Long Beach, Mississippi

I give a resounding MEH, just like the stars say. I'm mystified why anyone would rate this place so highly. - Maple syrup was fake, high fructose corn syrup knockoff garbage - Pancakes were basically actual cakes. They were good, but unrealistically large and I felt foolish ordering them in addition to my breakfast. Only ate half of one. - Eggs your way? Cool. Eggs that tasted like Egg Beaters? Not cool. - The "hash" I got was not merely overcooked, it was over-salted and burnt. You too can enjoy potatoes, bell peppers, and onions that have barely survived a trip through hell and back. - The placement of the tables outdoors was bizarre. I could not enjoy my meal, as there was an older lady and her friend literally staring in directly at my husband and I attempting to enjoy our mediocre brunch. Super awkward. I felt like an animal on display. - The hot cocoa I got was hysterically over-sweetened. In summary: A bunch of over-sweetened, over-refined, over-processed, over-salted mediocre food? I should have figured, in the diabetes/obesity capital of the USA. You probably could have gotten better at IHOP. I could have gotten better just sucking it up and making breakfast at home. Downside would have been dishes, but at least I'd be saving money. read more

A group of us came for lunch. We were so excited about the dessert that we plowed though our lunches. The shrimp po'boys are overflowing with shrimp. The hamburger was huge and juicy. The New Orleans shrimp were large and tasty. The creole shrimp pasta was flavorful. The desserts as mentioned earlier were fantastic. The triple chocolate cake was moist and so rich. The white chocolate bread pudding was excellent! Our waitress Ali was a great server! Very responsive. read more

My family and I visited for lunch this week and we enjoyed our visit! It was crowded, and a bit loud inside, but it didn't bother us. They have an interesting menu with quite a few choices, but we settled on the turkey sandwich with cream cheese and cranberries, and my daughter got the kid's chicken tender plate. Our sandwiches came with a side of kettle chips which were okay, but the sandwich - that was amazing. We ordered a couple of slices of cake to share, a Reeses' cake slice and a hummingbird slice, and our lovely waitress told us that some of the cakes were made from scratch each day. Both cakes were wonderful. It didn't take long to get our food despite it being crowded, and our waitress was friendly and kind. read more

Great Bloody Marys and Mimosas on Sunday's. Restaurant is always busy, so sometimes patience is needed. Food was great, exactly what I was looking for in a breakfast place that wasn't a Waffle House or other chain restaurant. Waitresses are very friendly. read more

Wow, can't believe the portion sizes. This was our first time here and the food was excellent. The fried shrimp was perfectly prepared. My wife had the Mahi Mahi and it was very tasty and also a huge portion. Great service, even though they were busy. The cakes were also great. The lemon berry cake was delicious. Long Beach has so many great dining options and we are slowly trying them all. read more

Honestly, we wanted to love this place. It is homey and lovely, offering what could have been a great meal, but the service is slow and the food was mostly mediocre. The hostess was super friendly and nice. I will have to say, the majority of the problem was probably the fault of the server, who seemed like a nice person but Just wasn't a good server. We arrived the same time as another table, but were served by two different people. They had drinks within a few minutes and fifteen minutes later we still didn't have drinks we had ordered. The server added crab instead of shrimp to the fried tomato appetizer, but we didn't complain. One appetizer came at the end of the meal. We have eaten a lot of fried green tomatoes (it's one of our favorite apps), and these are at the bottom of the list. Crab cakes were okay and fairly large. I would order them again. This was the last place we ate on vacation and regretted it. read more

Great place for lunch with excellent service and excellent indoor and outdoor seating. They are open for breakfast and lunch Sunday- Tuesday with full day service the rest of the week. I had a chicken and shrimp salad (**** stars). The salad bed was iceberg with carrot shavings, but the chicken breast was excellently cook and marinated tasting tender and juicy. The shrimp were blackened and while a tad bit salty well seasoned, tender and fresh. They have a full bar and while we went at noon, we were in and out in less than hour, without any rush. Great lunchtime or breakfast spot. Will be back soon. read more

I have eaten at the Harbor View several times over the past few years; breakfast, lunch, dinner and takeout. Consistently rates in the top 5 of local restaurants and does and excellent job with local cuisine especially for the price. Servers and staff were all cordial and capable. Airy and clean dining area and a great wraparound porch to eat outdoors in the evening or morning. Very nice ambiance. As is the case with fresh fried or grilled seafood and/or pasta takeout suffers a bit. More expensive seafood restaurants are in the area but if you want a nice dining experience and very good local cuisine at a reasonable price it can't be beat. read more

Service was quick and food was delicious. Look the view of the ocean from the outside patio seating.

I've never thought of Harbor View as a steakhouse. But I will check that out next time. I go for the chicken salads oh my goodness. So delicious especially at lunch. Any thing on the menu will be prepared to your liking. It certainly has a hometown atmosphere! Yes, save room for dessert. read more

It took some time for me to consider doing this review. I had lunch here and was impressed with the food and service. So I convinced my daughter to come for dinner on her birthday, August 27, 2021. We each ordered a different entree. My angel hair pasta and shrimp was floating in way too much sauce but the worst was a hair on my daughters plate when served. We brought it to the servers attention. She asked if my daughter wanted to order something else. She did not. We paid full price for the food that wasn't eaten and left. We won't be back. read more

We came upon this place by chance and it was a great experience. Our server, Katie, was a delight. It is clear that they are very conscientious and provided a lot of options (deviations) from the main dishes. Food was good, atmosphere lovely and dessert very tasty. read more

My mom and I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken, after my mom ate several bites of her meal she saw a hair in her food that was small dark and curled, she showed our waitress and then I didn't want to eat my food because we ordered the same thing but the waitress said she could only remove my moms plate off our bill because "it was only beard hair" so we will not be returning. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat on the Mississippi coast. I always get the poboy, either shrimp or half and half shrimp and oyster. The seafood is always fried perfectly and the bread is great. The best part is that it is always good. I have been going here for years and look forward to the next time I visit. read more

Delicious, had the eggplant with Redfish topped with Cajun cream sauce along with 6 grilled shrimp, Chef's special. Most excellent:

Delicious!! The food is always consistent and the wait staff is always so friendly. They definitely follow COVID procedures by washing the menus, tables, salt and pepper shakers and etc in between customers. We love this place and highly recommend it. read more

Good food. Nice service. Not home made 'tasting', a lot of fried foods. The reason I gave 4 of 5 stars is on the day we went, service was quite slow as opposed to the very few tables occupied. Had a great selection of appetizer, entrees and kids meals as well. Seafood as well as other selections. Overall good experience. read more

Just ordered $16 catfish plate. Fish was so greasy is just fell apart. Same for fries. Cole slaw was tasteless.

We had a wonderful lunch here. ST Louus Bay cheese steak and fries for me. Smoked turkey avocado and bacon sandwich for my daughter, Chipotle avocado burger for my nephew and my husband had the special meatloaf peas and mashed potatoes. Everyone loved their food. We were seated right away and had a great appetizer too Gouda mac and cheese bites. There is wonderful seating outside with a gulf view. read more

Very average breakfast place. I went last week and already forgot what I had. Basically that kind of place. It was not that busy but still managed to feel crowded. And there were loud kids. The staff was nice but overwhelmed. Nothing wrong with my experience but I do not plan on going back nor would I recommend it to a friend. read more

Talk about southern hospitality at it's finest. Every single person we came in contact with was genuinely nice! We had the Fried Dill Pickels...some of the best I've ever had and at one time I lived in the south for 7 years and tried them every place I ate. The 1/2 shrimp 1/2 oyster salad was amazing as is the house dressing! Don't forget to order some sweet potato fries. Thank you Harbor View Cafe you were the highlight of my trip to Biloxi! read more

Went for breakfast on a Sunday. Had to try the Kahlua Eggs Benedict: two poached eggs over smoked pulled pork with a spicy hollandaise, served with home fries. OMG. Unreal. I will be back. Also, excellent, smooth house coffee from the local (like down the street) coffee roasters. Attentive service, not too busy at 9am on a Sunday. read more

6/13/2021 Bustling place Sunday morning about 9am. But lots of parking, and with 2nd ramp from back to main entrance on beach side. Porch dining very popular, but I opted for the a/c on a steamy MS summer morning. Seated solo quickly, and able to order as soon as I was ready while slurping up their excellent coffee. Seconds and thirds on the coffee. The service is great, even with an almost SRO breakfast crowd. Noisy because everybody is getting caught up with everybody else all at the same time. Locals and tourists all know about the Harbor View. My food was hot; I must say their homefries are awesome, cut like apples in a pie, browned with skins on with three kinds of sweet peppers plus onions. I can't wait to try the porch seating when some cool fall mornings come back around, again. Sitting out there with food this good and watching the Gulf has to be about as good as it gets. G'day from Long Beach. read more

This is an awesome little cafe! Tasty food with reasonable prices, if the weather is nice be sure to sit on the porch so you can people watch. After eating you can take a stroll down the street to a couple cute little shops while your food settles, I highly recommend stopping at several little antique shops right at the end of Jeff Davis since there is always something cool there! read more

I ate here years ago and loved the place, especially the Chicken Salad & Eggplant Fries. I had a yearning for Chicken Salad yesterday and decided to take the ride to Harbor View Cafe which is a good distance from me. It was very busy which is understandable for a Sunday. I waited for a table and was seated quickly. I ordered the Eggplant Fries, which I was quickly told they were out of, so I ordered my Chicken Salad and also ordered one to go. I figured I would have it for lunch the next day. When it arrived, I was so disappointed. Not only had the Chicken Salad shrunk 50% in size but the ingredients looked like they had been chopped very fine in a food processor. It used to be nice chunks of chicken, grapes and chopped nuts. It was terrible... I asked the server if there was supposed to be grapes in so she went to check. When she came back she brought a small bowl of whole grapes and said the chef said they have grapes chopped very fine it it that's probably why I can't see them, I sent the grapes back and also cancelled my 'to go' order. Didn't know they had new owners but won't go back. Why would you purchase a restaurant with good business and good recipes and change the recipes? Such a shame. read more

I used to go to Harbor View before they relocated after Katrina and aways loved it. Breakfast this morning, not so much. I got the crab and cheese omelet and there was not much on it. We went to this restaurant a couple of days ago for. dinner. Service was good but I was disappointed in the food. I was expecting fresh seafood but my shrimp and oyster platter tasted like they were frozen, anything but fresh. Same for the Shrimp platter. Shrimp were small and not fresh. Everything else was fine but quite frankly, if I wanted frozen food I would go to Walmart and cook it myself. It's a shame. The two stars are for the employees. read more
