Received our gumbo. Flavor was fine but mostly broth and spicy. No bread as promised and still no water. Finally hunted down a staff member to put out the fire in our mouths. Chargrilled oysters arrived. Still no bread. Oysters were barely warm, watery and definitely not chargrilled. Again asked for bread. Bread eventually arrived and basked basically tossed on the table with no comments by who we would later learn was the manager. Broiled seafood platter arrived. No condiments and no plates. And it was cold, waitress eventually appeared, was told we were unhappy. She repeatedly apologized. We asked for the manager. Bread guy eventually appears and says what's the problem. Very friendly staff! We did not have reservations. I do strongly recommend getting them ahead of time. They do open at two and start taking reservations. People with reservations were seated very quickly. This place is only open Thursday - Sunday. It is across the street from the Island View Casino Resort and there is a enclosed walkway over to it. There is a pretty big parking lot as well. It is right on the main drag so very easy to find. The décor will remind you more than a few times, it is a seafood restaurant. I have to admit, the crabs on the entryway did have me wanting crab... Thus when I ordered, it was Redfish with Crabmeat. The signature Boulevard Bread, served warm & fresh from the oven is silly good! Try not to fill up on it, but it is really addictive. I had their salad as well and kept going back for more! Some at the table had Royal Reds, the best shrimp ever! When my order came out, I found room for it and it was expertly prepared. The crabmeat was enticingly sweet, the redfish flavor countered the crab sweetness with it's distinctive texture and taste! What a perfect pairing! My wife and I spent the day in Gulfport 8/19/2023 and decided to have dinner at Beach Blvd Steamer. it wasn't to busy when we arrived and were seated right away. The waitress came right over and took our drink order and explained the specials for the night. She brought us our drinks and took our order. All took less than 15 minutes. We ordered an appetizer at the same time we order our dinner. This is where it went down hill. Appetizer and salad took another 20 minutes. After they arrived we were there 35 minutes. Once finished another 30 minutes went by and no dinner order even though we seen multiple people that came in after us receiving their orders. the waitress came by and said she would go check on our order and apologized. 10 minutes later she came back and said our order was given to somebody else and they were re-repairing our order. another 15 minutes went by and still no order as we watched a party of 6 that was seated 15 minutes after us receiving their order. The waitress came by again and said our order was be prepared. Keep in mind we are now over an hour after being seated and still no order. We finally made eye contact with the manager and we explained to him that we have been waiting over an hour and still no order. At this time we requested our bill and said that the wait was unacceptable and after another 10 minutes we were able to pay our bill for the sweet tea and 6 half shell oysters. The manager apologized and gave us a card and stated the next time we come the desert was on them. Well, We won't be coming back. This was not an issue of being short staffed this was pure and total neglect of a customer. We won't be coming back to this establishment ever again and I would not recommend this place to anybody. My wife and I had the steam option for two which included Snow, Dungeness, and King crab along with Jonah's crab claws and shrimp. A little disappointing there were no options for spices which is abnormal in the south. Sides were augratin potatoes, candied yams, green beans and Mac N Cheese. Potatoes IMO were the best of those four. Service was on point, Jared took great care of us. Three stars for me was because our crab, although fresh, was overcooked. 4 stars might have happened if it was a one off, but in our party of 12, two other couples had the same and theirs was also streaked too long. So the restaurant HAS to fix that. Ultimately, the reason we selected them was because they had a children's menu (which needs to have a crab option, logical boys). The only other places serving peel and eat crab were buffets which don't have kid pricing. I should not have to pay $30-35 for a 6-year old.
