Walkers Sidekick their version of a smothered chicken, with hush puppies, mashed potatoes and Lima beans
    Barry C.

This is a hidden gem in plain sight! A great family restaurant with reasonable prices, generous portions, and delicious food! The service was attentive and pleasant. While I was there the owner Rodney was actively on the floor interacting with customers. I had the "Walkers Sidekick" and everything on the plate was freshly prepared and outstanding! The menu is diverse with a nice selection of home style faves, very original salads, seafood and burgers and other sandwiches. The owners are very customer oriented and everyone makes you feel like one of the family!

This the 1/2 Sassy Salad. Delicious.

I got the 1/2 Sassy Salad with the remoulade dressing . It was delicious. The seafood in the salad was well seasoned. The 1/2 salad is plenty for a big appetite. The staff was super friendly. Will definitely come back when I am In the area.

I try to write positive reviews when I experience good moments, and by golly I have one with lancasters. They are my go to work week Waitr lunch selection, and their food is amazing. They are great if I ask for special requests, and the food is always so hot and fresh (even after a 15 minute drive.) I hope to experience them in person soon, because I want to divorce my husband and marry their hamburger steak.

I kept going back and forth between 3 and 4 stars. On one hand, the food was very meh. On the other hand, the service was excellent. As I said, the service was great due to our server, whom I believe had the name of Amanda. (Hope I got that right!) She was super friendly and seemed to enjoy being there. (Nothing worse than getting a server who you can tell would rather be anywhere but work) Sadly, the food was very bland. I started out with boneless wings. They were just ok. I had the meatloaf for the main course and I just wasn't particularly impressed. I could of gotten a TV dinner one of the same quality. Once again, it just meh. The mashed potatoes tasted like the healthy ones my Mom used to make when I was a kid, literally just potatoes and a little milk. I'd recommend doing a bit more with those. Sour cream, chives, anything! The fries are clearly store bought. Which is annoying since you pay more for more sides. I'm always more impressed when French fries are hand cut and fried. That's just me. Also, maybe I'm crazy, but the portion size could of been a bit bigger. (You can judge that yourself with the attached photos) I'll for sure give this place another chance due to the great service I previously mentioned and how quickly we got in and out, but I'll obviously order other stuff on the menu!

Took a picture after I dug into this amazing chicken fried steak... sorry about that....

Stopped by this cute little place in town while walking around Ocean Springs... nice decor with really beautiful wall art. Good variety on breakfast (8-10:30) menu. Decided on the country fried steak combo.... hand cut and perfectly seasoned... came to the table crisp but juicy throughout... half way through the meal, server brought me a mini gravy boat with more country gravy.... coffee was kept filled and we left happy and bellies filled.. The SENIOR MENU has great prices such as biscuits with sausage gravy for $3.99 INCLUDING coffee.....EAT HERE!!!!

Happy & Juicy end of summer getaway weekend to Ocean Springs started yesterday. Jeff wanted more than coffee, we were heading to blue dog cafe for the 1st time but Lancaster's caught our eye. So we decided to try here instead. It was awesome. Clean wit tables social distanced. Our server Kallie has a great attitude and was super friendly. The coffee was hot (for Jeff) & iced for me. The food was great too. Jeff got the Sassy Sampler (Chandler would love it) I got the Hippie Sandwich add avocado and a hazy brown pattie that started my Saturday off right. Highly recommend this place. If your from New Orleans, Jeff said it reminded him of his favorite coffee spot...... Dots

    So juicy!

We were seated right away (we did call a head of time to give them a heads up about our group size [10], even with the understanding of no reservations and first come first serve). Drinks were ordered and then brought out randomly and just left in the middle of the table, never with the person who ordered. NEVER offered a refill on anything. Not on water, sodas or even alcohol. Food order was placed pretty quickly. Waitress even mentioned that the Beef Debris PoBoy is good in flavor but that it's the most returned and or disappointed menu item when ordered in larger groups (I believe because it's wet). I took her recommendations and ordered 3 side items asking for them all to be together as a meal. Food is delivered and quite a few things were wrong or missing. Burger - missing standard toppings & over cooked to a hockey puck. Several missing items - meals and sides. The food runners were very confused and couldn't even speak when we tried to address the messed up food. Still no drink refills offered and the waitress was gone for so long we couldn't address the missing meals for a while. The food runners never said anything about the issues. Again, I get it, it's Mother's Day, but a suggestion was made (not requested) and then the alternative was incredibly messed up. Little apologies for any of the missing item issues and then the bills were all messy. None of these issues pointed to the kitchen so it's the rare time I don't appreciate an auto gratuity.

Two in particular were Al and Lloyd. Our conversations were so interesting, we kinda felt like family. They had a longer wait so we all decided to dine together. The reviews were right! This was the BEST steak I've ever eaten. It was juicy and tender. It was amazingly delicious! And the grilled shrimp was so good. And I almost forgot to mention the Peanut Butter Pie. Everything about this restaurant was amazing. I would hope that the next time we're there, we bump into Al and Lloyd. The ribeye was cooked perfectly--warm pink center, beautifully seasoned, and tender enough to cut with minimal effort. The baked potato was fluffy inside with just the right crisp on the skin, and the green beans were fresh, vibrant, and seasoned just right. The potato soup was rich, creamy, and full of flavor without being too heavy. A perfect starter. My wife ordered the medium New York strip with green beans, and she couldn't stop talking about how good it was. Her steak had that perfect balance of char and tenderness, cooked exactly how she likes it. The rolls on the side were warm, soft, and buttery enough to make you want to order more. The kitchen clearly cares about quality, and the flavors show it. Great service, great food, and a place we'll definitely be returning to. Highly recommend!
