Not only are they a…read morefantastic butcher shop with some excellent prepared meats and other things you can take home and cook, but they also provide a great lunch service. When you walk in the front door, to the left you'll see some coolers with things like prepared potatoes, head cheese, and various meats. If you are lucky, they'll have some meatloaf ready and it's some of the best I have ever had. All require you to take them home to cook. Along the back wall is the steak selection and they have some great choices, including filet, NY strips, ribeye, pinwheels, and more. Prices vary and are slightly more than what you might find at a local grocery store, but in my opinion the cuts are superior. They recently started a lunch service where they cook up some of their own meats. They also have daily specials for around $12. The brisket was amazing and had a thick crunchy bark that I loved. They also make their own potato chips in beef tallow and they're really good, plus they have other dishes like roast, pork, and so on. I highly recommend it and the service is very quick.

The quality here is unmatched and well worth the price. The crafted burgers are grill ready and need no further seasoning. The boudin is great.

I am a fan of Barbacoa Mexican tacos and I cannot find the beef for me to cook these marvelous tacos, but the butcher behind the counter asked me what it was, I was looking for- beef cheeks I explained, I cannot find them anywhere in Baldwin County he told me he would specially order them for me and only added 10% to his cost. I was so happy to finally be able to purchase the meat for my fabulous Barbacoa Mexican tacos, Texas style with pico de gallo flour tortillas you cannot beat them. Benny-

Clean, modern and still that country vibe. They make their own sausages and there are daily offerings. We did the bratwurst, old timer, and pineapple jalapeño. Each of them loaded with flavor. Old timer was a smoked sausage and it was not heavy. Pineapple was sweet and the light burn from the peppers was pleasant. The beef case was so tempting with all the steaks and freshly ground offerings. They also process your wild game...with very clear instructions as to what must be done prior to bringing it in. The also offer whole hogs... We will return!

I asked the lady taking our order what she would suggest and it was their specialty. She seemed surprised that I ordered it, but I was glad I did. It was delish. My wife Enjoyed her sandwich as well. We ate outside, by the street and it was quieter than in the dining area. Overall, we would recommend Cochon Butcher to anyone!

We ordered the black-eyed pea chili and the muffuletta, and the sandwich completely stole the show. The bread was perfectly soft, and you can really taste the difference in quality with their in-house meats. The olive salad tied the whole thing together, complementing the rich, savory flavors perfectly. That being said, the space gets extremely crowded on busy days. It's tight enough that you'll likely have people bumping into your chair or brushing past you while you eat and walk through the dining room. The biggest downside was the service at the counter. The line to the cashiers was very disorganized. Instead of calling the next person in line, one cashier was pulling people up at random, which made the ordering process frustrating. Overall, the food is fantastic, but be prepared for chaotic crowds and a messy ordering system during peak hours.
