I was in the mood for something casual. Almost forgot about this place. A person who I ran into "check this place out". Wait, I been there! Just not recently tho. So, all the sudden got a craving for it. This is at Beach View Casino off highway 90 near downtown Gulfport. One thing I love about this place. The southern casino is smoke free as the one north side is smoking. Both are adjoining by a crosswalk above the highway. So you need not worry about traffic or the weather. This has plenty of parking in the front. Do not be discouraged by when you go and the parking lot is full. They do offer parking garage nearby on the Southeast or the parking garage and parking lot on the North side. They do offer valet service on the North end for sure. I was not able to confirm valet service for Beach View tho. Just have to walk on over via crosswalk to Beach View instead of Island View on the North side. As you walk up to the front. You are greeted by a friendly staff and security that will guide you to the escalator or elevator to the second floor of the hotel and casino. When you arrive. The casino opens up to various restaurants, casino floor, live entertainment above the bar depending on what day you attend, and the hotel lobby is not far. If you are not familiar with the area. The friendly staff will guide you through. I know it can be overwhelming. Especially with the many cafes, restaurants, and bars. This particular restaurant was in the second floor past the hotel lobby. We were quickly greeted by an amazing staff and the hostess was able to grab a table for us. This is a casual dining experience. Easy access for the disabled. The tables are arranged by booth and chairs combination against the wall and regular tables and chairs in the middle. In my opinion, I do recommend going for a regular table with chairs. The booth combo is interesting setup. Booth seats against the wall has padding on both bottom and back for you. As for the seats are just hardwood with no padding. I did not sit in those personally but noticed a lot of people were asking for a regular table. She was able to sit us in a regular table and chairs. It is no couch, very comfortable, but boasts plenty of padding on top and bottom for your dining experience. Amanda was our server. She was the best! She quickly took our drinks order and asked if we like to start off with something delicious. We told her it has been a while and quickly noticed they offered a daily special. We told her we were on the wrong day. Oops Kidding aside, all looks great and overwhelming. She was able to point out a few dishes and what she was able to accommodate our unique food requests. It was Thursday, so I got the daily special of Blacken Chicken Strips over vegetables. With a choice of gumbo or salad. I opted for the delicious seafood gumbo. We also ordered the shrimp poboy. She asked if we liked it dressed(lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and mayonnaise) ? Also comes with a side of fries. We both washed it down with a some fresh brewed sweet tea. Amanda asked if we like something from the bar. We asked if they would be available as virgin. Unfortunately they were not. Drink responsibly. If you are feeling under the weather. They will see if they have any available rooms or gladly offer to get a ride. She also mentioned that the daily specials will change time to time. So they may not be the same when you return. They were able to bring out the seafood gumbo first. It was delicious and but temperature hot. It did have a little bit of a kick. But not too overpowering. If you want more spice in your life. They offer hot sauce and black pepper at the table for your convenience. However, they provided a small amount of oyster crackers. Amanda mentioned that if I needed more, just ask. They brought out the main course. Let me just say, look fabulous! Definitely tell it was fresh from the kitchen. You can still see the steam from it and smell the amazing food as they brought it to the table. The food was delicious. The blacken chicken was very flavorful and you can definitely taste the spices they used. The shrimp they used for the shrimp poboy was wonderful size. I was not expecting that. Honestly, I thought it would be smaller. That's a good thing. I am glad. No Wi-Fi in the restaurant as you can easily connect to the casino free WiFi. They do not offer a military discount. However, you maybe able to receive discount or promotion with your players? Give they a chance or come back to get reacquainted with this amazing restaurant. read more

Staff at the Dock Side Cafe were rude, slow and visibly annoyed that people wanted to eat there. Actually heard one say "don't these people have somewhere to be?" Cashier at takeout register was purposely slow. Walked to the back at least twice for a pack of jelly and I think pack of ketchup. Waitress at diner acted as if in a hurry and told us they were busy and be prepared for a long wait. 30 minutes to get drinks. Still waiting on food. Won't be back read more

Food was great, hot and prompt even mine was prepared as requested. Our waitress Cassie did an excellent job and make the corrections happen quickly. The seating area was nice with a great view of the gulf. We love this restaurant and the menu selections. read more

We were scouting the nearby Island View Casino to throw a couple of Andrew Jacksons into the slot machines. Our group of 4 were hungry and it was lunch time so we looked around for something lunch-ish. This is what we found! No Yelp info posted and thus another reason to go on in. The first question asked of us was "did we want outside or inside." Thinking it was a 2nd story and it was a cool breezy day, we asked for inside. BAD BAD decision for the 4 of us as "outside" is kind of outside but well protected from most breezes and sun with a gorgeous beach and Gulf view! The next question asked was "did we want a menu" and the 4 of us nailed that one! I knew I wanted a salad as my seafood and fried food filled meals were without greens. LOTS of salad options on the small menu! I ordered the Chef salad. It was HUGE!!! Enough for 4 small salads or 2 lunch salads. Me being me, I ate it all. It was really fresh, tasty and and would make my doctors happy. The rest enjoyed their selections and all noted this would be a place to return to on our next trip, except outside. The server was fantastic as she was very helpful, kept us apprised of our orders and kept us smiling. Cost was slightly high, but hey, this is a casino so go get lucky! read more

Best Gumbo on the Coast!!! The weekly Chef specials are amazing!! Great sandwiches and the freshest salads!! Definitely will be back.

Chilly at night bring a jacket. Had a mufaletta and BLT. Both were large portions and very tasty. Go with the homemade chips, great seasoning! Very nice service too. read more

A secret gem! Excellent food/homemade. We had the crab bisque, roast po'boy, and banana pudding. We were served promptly and our waitress, Erin, showed true southern hospitality! The manager, Carrie, came to our table and thanked us for coming in. And the dining atmosphere was beautiful with the ocean and white sand views. Very peaceful (no children allowed since it's in the casino). We will definitely go back! read more

The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. My wife had the fried chicken sandwich which she loved and I enjoyed the soft shell crab Pinot which was perfect. We also enjoyed the pine colada and bushwhacked which were great additions! We loved the view of the beach and it was a perfect day to sit outside and enjoy the weather. read more

Servers stand around doing nothing, waitress disappears. Glasses empty, not all food delivered, had to have others chase our waitress down when there were only 5 tables with people at it. Blames others when food not delivered, but of course she never bothered to even check. Lazy and useless. No one at the door to even complain to as we left. Food was just ok. Coleslaw is horrible, crab chowder soup is supposed to have crab and chowder....supposedly. Kept looking, never found it. read more
