It's raining and cold outside so much so that some of the businesses in the area have closed so no going out for dinner today. So we decide to eat at the island view casino and picked the diner restaurant inside the casino. The menu is good enough that there's a lot of choices on it for most people and today I chose the club sandwich. The club sandwich was pretty good I wouldn't say it was outstanding by any stretch but it tasted well was prepared well. You certainly get a lot of french fries with this meal most of which I couldn't finish. So in a pinch I think the diner would be a good choice if you just don't want to get out and about and just need some comfort food. read more

The is actually the whole hotel. Island side. For my Aunt's 87th Birthday The Diner. The service was great. Staying at the hotel, we got there when they opened stood in line . (11am). . Burger was good. Club sandwich was sad. Club should be on toast and cut in quarters with frilly toothpicks. Totally soggy. Cut in 1/2. Came with potato salad. Made with sweet pickles. Fries were inedible. But Again. The waitstaff was great. Restaurant was clean. Which takes us to C&G Grill. They also like sweet pickles on their burgers. Eww C&G waitstaff was great. Food was ok. Nothing we had stood out as exceptional except for the staff. Fries undercooked and soggy. Both restaurants we triple tipped. Waitstaff was great. Mostly because they were exceptional, I know what they have lost this last year Hotel room was just ok. At least no bugs. Noisy hallways which is to be expected I suppose. TV was miniature. Casino was the WORST ever. Tighter than a gnats ass. We won't be back. We have ruled out Gulf Port, Biloxi and NOLA. Been to all too many times in 25 years. We prefer Atmore ,AL. Indian? Yes. I love old style diners. I will drive miles out of my way to eat at one. This is not an old style diner. Sure the name leads you to believe it is. The website even makes that claim. But trust me when I tell you; it's not. The Diner is actually an overpriced, oddly laid out, poor excuse for a restaurant. Since it's in a casino I shouldn't of expected anything more. But there I was, miles out of my way expecting greatness. Parking here sucks unless you valet. It was drizzling and I don't use umbrellas so I got wet. The parking lot was littered with trash from cigarette packs and other garbage. I had to call to figure where to enter because it's not clearly marked. If you're wondering you enter from the front valet area and turn hard left. The restaurant is crammed in a long narrow space. Tables are the bench on one side, chair on the other type. I despise these types of tables as I feel like cattle crammed in a slaughterhouse. These tables weren't too close so that's a plus. But it still sucked. I could've gotten past all that stuff if the food was decent. It wasn't. Hash browns were overcooked and far too crispy. My omelet was small and had way too much egg. Not only was the egg/stuff ratio off, it was so under seasoned it was like hospital food. The bright spot was the service. Our server was attentive and awesome despite being super busy. Since it was a casino surely it was cheap right? Wrong again. Overpriced and not good. Lame. read more

Very unprofessional and it seemed as no one wanted to claim any tables, people waited a while before being served. I like that they stay open late and the prices are really cheap. read more

There is something to an old style diner type of setting and it's something special that thankfully has not gotten overshadowed by the "pizazz" of the current era. The best way I can sum up The Diner? It's like going to Denny's, but with manners. I heard my Dad (who is native to Biloxi) rant on and on about a BLT he gets having no clue it was here, but during my last trip my curiosity was sparked so we stopped here to mark that off the "Mississippi to-do" list and I was far from disappointed. From start to finish I really felt like I stepped back into the 50's. It had everything from simple decor, simple menu, simple service, and simple hospitality. The only thing simple was the taste it left my palette when it was all said and done. So as I mentioned the menu itself is very simplistic housing your typical diner food (burger, soups, salads, sandwiches, etc.), but I came specifically for the BLT and I stuck to my guns and not even look at the menu (because I know how that would've gone). Ha-ha! What I love is that the sandwich itself was straight up, but packed FLAVOR. If you're going to have only the basics you best make it taste good and they do an amazing job amongst the simplicity. It was surrounded by very thin (toasted more than my liking, but it's all good) white toast. It was spread with a light layer of mayonnaise which I guess left me wanting more, but that's a personal preference of saucing up a sandwich. The lettuce and tomato were actually pretty fresh and crisp which honestly from a casino restaurant I wasn't expecting (oh how the world has corrupted me). Hands down the bacon is where I ended up getting sent to a euphoric trance. I was thinking I would only get maybe a piece or two, but the ratio of bacon to pretty much everything else blew me away. I looked at my Dad and just smiled because there was bacon for days practically. It was so crisp and flavorful and abundant throughout. This definitely had to be one of the best versions and leave it to the South to rise again (in that regard). The previous reviews here were night and day from my experience, but to each its own. If you are in the mood for just some down home sampling of Americana then I would look no further as for me this is well worth a 10 star rating if I could give out one! It was that good that I totally didn't even remember having a waitress, but the staff was really hospitable (on the way in and out) and you can't EVER go wrong with that! read more

Normally the food is pretty good. I almost always eat at the counter and get pretty friendly and fast service. Today was terrible tho. The loud mouth lady at the window just could not stop yelling out orders. I get that I'm gonna hear what's going on at the window sitting at the counter but man she was loud. I came at like 1030 so maybe the food sucked because they were about to switch over to lunch but my food was all so very over cooked. The pancakes were burnt black on one side, bacon was black, the hash browns were so over cooked I couldn't even eat them. I think it would have been easier to eat the plate. Food order timing was slow and what finally came was wrong. Overall service at our table and those around was slow and disjointed.

Bar none the WORST experience I have ever had from quality of food to horrible HORRIBLE customer service. (Our server only exception, very nice, leaving her out of this. So I order 2 eggs basted light, no butter or oil, asked for very well done bacon, fruit and toast. Plate comes out, yellow stuff all over eggs. I ask what it is. Butter..... I can't have any oil or butter. Server goes into kitchen, comes back and says cook said you can't baste eggs without butter. I pull up directions on my phone "how to baste an egg" to show it is possible. Never got a refill on my coffee, never got a glass of water. They bring eggs back out and they are uncooked. Clear runny liquid in center. Meanwhile, I have been here 45 plus minutes. The only thing going back and forth to kitchen has been my eggs. I am starving and during the course of 45 minutes ate a piece and a half of bacon. Bacon was NOT well done either.... but least of my problems. At this point I am over it and want to go find food before I pass out. Now there is a MANAGER who says "ok let me get your check". Me: ????????? My check? I didn't eat! I ate a piece of bacon. Manager: Ian told me I have to charge you for what you ate. A side of bacon is $4. Oh and you drank a cup of coffee. Seriously brought me a check for 6.52. At this point I decide to eat another piece of bacon....... Did I get a we are sorry? No........I got a check, attitude, and no breakfast. My sister's plate had so much grease and oil on it I don't know how she ate it..::::I will NEVER EVER EVER eat here or even walk past it. Do yourself a favor folks and go somewhere else! read more

I live right around corner and eat there whenever I can. The seafood is always fresh and tasty. The owners are very nice and always smiling.

Have eaten here several times....The service is slow as pond water, they rarely get the order correct and it seems very unorganized. You walk up and it takes forever for them to address you or welcome you and you are very crowded when trying to pay up at the bar....You feel as if you are right on top of the person in that end seat. Food is mediocre. Nothing extra. Sometimes the salads come before the meal, like they should and sometimes they don't....NO consistency....Not sure if Island View owns the restaurant or not or if it's leased, but they better get some new management in there and maybe higher wages to get qualified staff. The turnover rate I bet is huge...I never see the same people in there. Probably lack of training is the problem. It's not a good reflection on the casino. Thanks for listening. read more
