Easy to make reservations online. Although I did not need one. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I sat on the patio for sunset it was beautiful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are a lot of flies but, you're eating outdoors. I wouldn't expect anything else.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The crab claws and the freshly baked bread were the best part. I got sautéed shrimp for my entree but it was the same sauce as the crab claws. So I wish I had gotten something else since I got the same thing different protein. Wine is reasonably priced for glasses as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall good experience, nice servers, beautiful location.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Well, how we found ourselves at The Chimneys again today is explained in my first review. Same song, second verse. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is such an elegant, white tablecloth venue overlooking the live oak adorned shoreline of the Mississippi Sound.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our experience today was made all the more exceptionally enjoyable thanks to our absolutely remarkable Welsh server, Ruthie. If we have ever enjoyed a more delightful, engaging and perfectly attentive server I cannot remember it. Pro Tip: ask for her! : ) I enjoyed an Old Fashioned and Miss Anne a Mimosa for starters. The Sunday Brunch/Lunch menu is a cornucopia of tantalizing offerings. Take a look at it on the website. I had intended to see what their gumbo is like here, but before we could even think twice about it Ruthie produced a cup of a crab and something or other chowder, "On me, see what you think", as she presented it. It was lovely. We decided to share the Trout 1640 with the goat and cheddar grits, and french green beans almandine sides. The dish came out separately plated by the kitchen (class kitchen touch). The dish overall was so very nice... a generous portion of crabmeat, four shrimp and a lovely sauce. The fish was over cooked and dry, but nonetheless tasty due to the excellent pané and sauce. These grits are world class and the haricot verts are prepared perfectly. The meal was complimented by glasses of the Jadot Pouille-Fuisse. Ruthie cracked me up when, without a word she snatched my iPhone off the table and fired four shots of us. LOL. Such an enjoyable dining experience today.

A++! Okay, so an odd review. Please indulge me. A few years ago, when my parents had their 50th wedding anniversary here, and the whole family loved it. It's such a great special place. So, when my son and his now wife were planning their wedding, not being from the coast, they decided to look here. Long story short, my son got married here. It's a great restaurant, and also a great venue for events. Great place. Super service. The staff was friendly, flexible, and professional. Delicious food. For the morning wedding, my DIL chose biscuits, scones, breakfast casserole, shrimp and grits, and spinach and artichoke dip. We also had Bloody Mary's, mimosas, and beer. It was all well done. Great vibe. Beach views. Pics under live oaks. My highest recommendation!

10/10 on two visits now. I LOVE dining on this front porch! Far enough away from the roadway that you don't get the noise but close enough that you get the beautiful ocean view and the oaks are truly gorgeous. Now let's talk about the other stuff: perfectly convenient parking right behind the building which is nice. It's super easy to get reservations. Service is IMPECCABLE. And the food is TO DIE FOR. Tonight I had the special which was triple tail with crab and shrimp and a side salad and delicious steamed veggies. I could eat here everyday! The drink menu is also expansive and they have a lot of great choices! It's great to come here when in the area! I highly recommend it!

Godchaux salad. Loaded with crab and shrimp! So very good!

Finally tried The Chimneys. Waited 3 years and I wish we hadn't waited so long. I write my reviews and give stars based on the type of establishment. So I may give a dive bar a 5 star review as compared to other dive bars. That said, this 5 star review is for a 5 star dining experience. We went for lunch, and it was fantastic. Started with the lime martini (can't remember what it was called) and he had the Fashioned (not old). Both were excellent. Appetizer was the crab cakes to share, which were fantastic. Seafood Gumbo was the best we've ever had. Loaded with crab claws and shrimp, with a perfect dark roux that wasn't too salty, so lovely. My husband had the Godchaux salad, and he was in heaven- loaded with crab and shrimp and some anchovies for flavor. I had the special, snapper topped with crab and shrimp and a delicious Dijon sauce (not overpowering at all). Shout out to our server Colton. He was excellent. Perfectly timed our lunch experience. Lastly, the setting is just beautiful. This establishment has it all. Just go.

When visiting Gulfport, MS in late February of this year I had the opportunity to dine here. Looking back, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at The Chimneys. I ordered the special of the day for my dinner entree. I skipped dessert. From what I remember, they had a diversity of items to choose from for entrees. I love that this restaurant is an old historic home. I believe that this home served as a resource for women back in the day. The building itself has a nice "old soul" feel to it. Our waiter was great too. Overall, I had a great experience and would absolutely consider dining here again. I recommend checking out The Chimneys if you're ever visiting Gulfport or the surrounding communities.

    Trout, flounder, key lime pie.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The first thing you notice is the place itself, a large, beautiful, southern style home with wide brick steps that lead to a veranda that wraps around it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tastefully decorated inside with a cozy bar, white linen tablecloths on a candlelit table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server, Melody, was friendly and quite articulate as she described the specials and other options. We had great conversation with her. The food, so delicious, from the seafood bisque to the speckled trout almondine, flounder smothered in shrimp and crabmeat to the key lime pie! Not overly expensive either. Highly recommend if looking for a nice dinner in Gulfport, MS.

It was originally named Marina Cantina but is under new ownership. Parking is a bit sparse here, and you used to be able to park under the bridge but that was blocked off last time I went. You may have to park in the overflow gravel lot just west of the building, which also serves as parking for the excellent Blue Dog Bistro next door. We started with the Tres Amigos appetizer, which included a pile of fresh chips combined with salsa, cheese sauce, and black bean sauce. It was great and really meant for more than two people. They don't skimp on this one. I've been here several times and always get the Shrimp A Go Go poboy, which is pictured here. Although I feel like it could have used a few more shrimp for the price point, it was really good and comes with this creamy sort of salsa that pairs well with the fried shrimp. My wife got the grilled chicken sandwich, and honestly it was bigger and looked better than my poboy. I am definitely trying that next time. I hope this place is doing well because it never seems very busy when we go. It's like something is missing on the inside to liven it up. Our tables were covered in epoxy that was cracked and we saw buckling on the wood floors, most likely from humidity. Service has always been pretty quick and I have never had any complaints. I know the City caused a lot of drama for the previous owners, which is unfortunate. Definitely check this place out if you're looking for a place to hang out and have a few drinks and great food.

Nothing really 'epic' about them but good. Finally we had some Flamingo chicken bombs. Deep fried tenders and jalapeños. Pretty tasty and hot! Bailey our server was awesome and offered great suggestions. I bet this place is rocking during the summer with boats coming in and live music outside. Would love to come back for that.

Is it even a proper vacation in Biloxi if you don't give this place a visit for breakfast? The answer is NO !! When your motto is It's never too early to get toasted!! You are talking my language and that's how you start a proper vacation day:) We left Alabama in the wee hours of the morning to get here before they opened. We ordered at 7:04 am . A grapefruit mimosa for me and two Irish coffees for my husband and son. My son pretty much gets the same thing everytime an Arnold . This time it was a West coast Arnold w/ hash brown casserole . He ate it up!! I got the Dragon fruit pancakes 2 pc . Man one pancake was plenty and yes they are as big as the plate. Hubbie got the pork chop breakfast . On the 16th (our leave day) I got the (2)Strawberry Hibiscus Spritz and my son got a Cappuccino cooler. Hubs had to drive back home so he just got a coffee. Hubbie got the chicken and waffles , I got the yolk lovers breakfast with cheese grits ( When you are in the South Grits must be eaten at least one meal of the day) and my son got his Southwest Arnold again lol! My son looked at his mug and said I want one . Yes they sell them for 31.99 eek a bit high for my blood but He bought it himself. He has been using it everyday since We got back home. He said He will probably buy another in July. It's a solid breakfast place and enjoyable if you get here before the crowds. He chose the plantation hotel supposedly because of all the raving reviews but let me set the record straight there is nothing amazing about this hotel except possibly the animals. Now let me explain who this hotel is perfect for. If you like animals especially peacocks...this place is perfect for you. If you like dead fly's in your tea....this place is perfect for you. (They have tea and cookies at 4 o' clock everyday. We were super excited except when we got there the cookies and tea had just been sitting out. I was so excited for the juice that I failed to look at it before drank it. Then i realized there were dead flies in both punch bowls. I took pictures but i'd rather not creep you out. I'll just leave that to your imagination. If your between the ages of 40-100 this place is perfect for you. You can definitely appreciate the quietness, the quilt on your bed, and the whole ambiance of the hotel. The hotel room is just bland. In the guest book it says that the hotel has been recently remodeled to look like a home from back in the day. I ask the lady how long is recenlty and she said 10yrs ago!!! Our shower door was broken. There was a wooden table and chairs. Its just not what you expect when you come to a hotel. I expect luxury and what I got was a room from 1890. Sunday Brunch is actually what Plantation is known for. That was probably the best part of our whole stay at the hotel. It was a breakfast buffet which included eggs, omelets, bacon, sausage. (the norm) But it was actually pretty good. I can't complain about that part. This hotel is actually in close proximity to the outlets if you want to go shopping and about 15minutes from the casiono's.

Welcome to the brunch experience of HOLY SHIT, WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE?…read moreFirst, abandon all expectations at the door. Service? Excellence? Basic supplies? Those are apparently premium add-ons. Coffee? No problem. Tea? Absolutely. Ketchup? Sure. Hot sauce? Of course. Oh wait. My bad. They're out of all of it. At some point I genuinely started wondering whether the restaurant had recently been looted or whether we had accidentally arrived during the final hours before foreclosure. Carbonated water? Nope. Bloody Mary? Bold of you to assume a bar should know how to make one. Mimosa? Apparently you'll need to get your ass back in the car, drive somewhere that maintains a working relationship with both fruit juice AND champagne, and try again. The bar itself appears to be partially stocked, which somehow makes it worse. It's like looking into a pantry after a hurricane. There are technically objects in there. Whether any of them can be combined into a recognizable beverage remains under investigation. And then there's the customer service. Sweet baby Jesus. The overall atmosphere feels less like brunch and more like I accidentally walked into the middle of a workplace dispute nobody bothered to warn the customers about. Nobody appears to be wearing the same uniform, or possibly any uniform at all, so identifying actual employees becomes its own interactive brunch activity. Last time we came in, a woman in a tracksuit approached us with such confidence that I genuinely had no idea whether she worked there, was another customer, or was about to ask us why we were sitting in her section of Planet Fitness. Turns out it was her first day as the hostess. Of course it was. Honestly, at this point, if someone walked out of the kitchen wearing pajama pants, carrying jumper cables, and announced they were the executive chef, I'd just nod and ask whether the ketchup had arrived yet. Nothing about the place feels coordinated. The drinks aren't coordinated. The staff isn't coordinated. The inventory isn't coordinated. I'm not entirely sure the building itself has been informed that it is currently operating as a restaurant. You don't come here for brunch. You come here for an experience. An experience that begins with, "Surely they have coffee," progresses rapidly into, "How are you out of THAT too?" and ends with you sitting in your car afterward staring silently through the windshield while your passenger whispers: "Let's go to Waffle House" Come hungry. Leave confused. And for the love of God, bring your own ketchup.
