When I first went to Wayne Lee's shortly after moving to MS from chicago in 2018, it was a DUMP…read more.. a year and a half later, they revitalized the crud out of the place, and is worth the trip to, since Jerry Lee's/Ramey's is not great. Wayne Lee's at the time was the only place I could find the circular tub of Jello that I used to get as a kid, which for whatever reason was near impossible to find after moving to the South. Didn't think that style of Jello was a REGIONAL thing... They all taste EXACTLY THE SAME. I like Wayne Lee's better since they have a few more "EXOTIC" and local choices. I'm just lucky I moved to a city that has two grocery stores, we used to have 4, but two closed down and succumbed to Walmart. Wayne Lee's also better keeps up with their produce and I haven't ran into moldy fruits there, like I have at Jerry's and even Ramey's (which is a more local chain). The only issue, is it's a bit of a trek, but not much, it's like 4 miles away, but sometimes is worth it, also they have a nice emergency fishing supply section that I'll never use, but offers more variety than just being a grocery store.

Greens and Black eye beans with rice was fantastic. My catfish was crispy and a golden yellow fry; that was moist. Didn't really enjoy the Mac and Cheese. I believe I will be revisit. The store it self was clean and prices standard for this area.

The place is a meat lover's daydream--goat, Wagyu beef, turkey, and more cuts of steak and chicken than you can shake a cast-iron skillet at. And the best part? Prices that don't make you wince on the way to the register. We sampled our way through like it was our civic duty, and every bite backed up the hype. The Italian cotechino sausage ended up pulling double duty--first in a pot of collard greens that could make a preacher shout, and then in a potato hash that was nothing short of sinful. The olives? Lord have mercy. Worth the stop all by themselves. Now let's talk atmosphere. This place looks like a gas station that found religion and got saved by a butcher block--and I mean that as the highest compliment. It's got character, grit, and just enough charm to make you want to hang around longer than you planned. Do yourself a favor: don't just think about going--go. Make the trip, take the detour, tell whoever's with you they'll thank you later. And for the love of all things good and right, get the tuna dip. I don't know what they're putting in it, but it ought to be studied by scientists

We went on day that unfortunately was raining; so we time it out when the rain stopped or slowed down. It is nice little restaurant. They mainly offer takeout only. They do have dine in sorta. Is not an inside but a few picnic tables with a cover. The cover is not big enough to block the rain. They have plenty of parking. It is located in small shopping center. As we arrived and walked up. The smell of something delicious brewing! They unfortunately just only accept cash. The menu is conveniently posted on the wall and very easy to read. We just had few people in front of us. I opted for the fried oyster and fried fish (swai) platter. We had to get a shrimp poboy. They are well known for their sandwiches. We also got an order of onion rings and Shrimp Lo Mein. She said our order will take a while. She gave us a buzzer. She advised us we will buzz you when it is ready. We waited in our vehicle. As we paid for it. Just happened a crowd of people showed up. It actually did not take that long to cook. On the way home the smell of deliciousness filled the air. The oyster and fish platter looked amazing and tasty. It came with a small cup of potato salad, roll, cocktail sauce and tartar sauce, hush puppies and a generous amount of crinkle cut fries. The shrimp poboy was large with plenty of large shrimp. It came fully dressed (mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles) Large order of onion rings. Order of Shrimp Lo Mein. Very tasty! All were so delicious and amazing! Besides the weather. Recommend making this your next takeout meal.
