I've never dealt with a worse store. I bought an item from this store and never used it. I returned it the very next day in brand-new condition. However, they charged me $33 without informing me about the charge beforehand. Only after I had already returned the item did they tell me about the $33 fee. I told them that I did not want to return the item if I had to pay that fee, but they said it was already too late because the return had already been processed. I believe they should have informed me about the $33 charge before processing the return and given me the opportunity to decide whether I wanted to proceed with the return. I find this very disappointing and feel that the way they handled the situation was unfair. read more

Went to HF to purchase a few items with "Inside Track Membership" (ITM). I had not joined in over a year, for a few reasons, the main two being that I usually have to buy many of the item "In Store Only" and most times when I drive all the way to town, they are out of stock. Not much has changed in decades. This time I went in to purchase a two year ITM and pick up some items on sale and not on sale. I needed a 9" bandsaw, rounded shovel, a channel lock and a metal cutter/dike. I typically purchase many items I don't need at the moment, like the square nose shovel they had. the narrow shovel and some other hand tools on sale - that they did have, that I did pick up while on sale and intend to use in the future, usually. LOL The most important item I needed was not on sale. It was some nylon bottle brushes I needed to clean out a brake caliper pin insert hole, that some mechanic had decided to use red grease, instead of silicone or copper based and even lubed the tips, which is a no-no. The first guy sent me to an aisle that did not have what I was looking for. The next guy sent me to a different aisle that had no brushes and the third guys was actually the first guy I had asked. He was busy small talking with a female associate and neither one wanted to be bothered. I finally told the guy that I could not find the brushes. He stated they did not have what I was looking for. I suggested they continue their conversation and I would find the brushes on their website. I finally showed him the picture. He stated; "Oh, well those are over in aisle whatever. He walked me over and pointed to the brushes and walked away. When I got up close I realized that they were not what I showed him in the picture. I went over to the automotive section and found what I was looking for. Unfortunately, it was an empty slot; out of stock. of course. I was a bit irritated and put the half dozen items I did not really need back and left the store empty handed. This happens time and time again. I hate going to HF just for that reason. I will continue to use them, but like in the past, if I cannot purchase enough items to recover my ITM purchase even online, I just won't pay for the membership or buy items. I always have Amazon or other choices. Over the last 20+ years I have purchased thousands of dollars of items from HF. HF has also lost thousands more dollars by not having items in stock or not having the ability for me to purchase those items online. I hope they fix this some year. I would write directly, but that is another in-store option only and they don't have a suggestion box in stock. Management has always deferred the responsibility to me to contact corporate. SERVICE. I want to first say that this review is about 1 individual but he destroys the other great people at this store. I believe he is the manager of the store, Sherman. He has a horrible attitude makes a very unpleasant atmosphere.He has been at the store for several years and he has always been this way but this time he directly raised his voice at me and it became personal. Sherman is arrogant or he hates his job or both. Customers are beneath him. 2 days before this incident i was in the store and Sherman was in a small TEAM meeting or something with apparantley a person of authority because he sure was pretending to be a great associate with great people skills, he even helped me find an item real quick near them and HE WAS POLITE AND OUTGOING..funny at the time I laughed inside...We do not know each other I only know his name. read more

Left an item in my cart, realized right as I got home- called immediately and was assured that my item was found and I could come pick it up the day after. I am out of town so same day wasn't an option. I come back the next day and the staff borderline refused to help me, after I just spoke with someone the day before. Obviously this stems from my mistake of leaving an item I purchased in my cart. But after spending extra money on the membership on my last visit, you'd think I would get better service. read more

It's great. If you watch and collect the coupons, you can save money. I've purchased consumables for sanding projects, welding accessories and saved money. The ICON and Pittsburg brands have consistently worked under tough conditions. I usually shoot there at least once every 3 weeks and stock up on supplies for the job site. read more

I visited the Spokane Valley store to buy a 5k generator, a table saw, and a list of other items. I forgot the ad coupons so the manager refused to honor the discounts. She was extremely obnoxious and their forth lost the sale. She even refused to give me a store coupon book! I went to Lowes and purchased a 8k generator, cordless drill, and1/2 impact tool, then to the Harbor Freight on Division to purchase the table saw. I will never visit this store again as long as she is manager. The other cashier just stood their with a blank look in her face and moved away when I loudly stated that they just lost a 1k+ sale, and a customer. This gal doesn't even deserve a single star. This is my local store, and it's a good one. Sometimes the employees seem a little less than pleased with their jobs but, c'm'on, man. This IS the Walmart of tool stores. Supervisor was very rude!!!! Worst experience ever!! Wanted to exchange an item just purchase with manufacture defect, but they were out of stock. So I return but they charged a restocking fee for an item that they did not have in stock to exchange and how could you possibly charge a restocking fee when the item is broken with a manufacture defect!!! You cannot resell that item!! May need to report to better business bureau!! read more

If you expect customer service, this store isn't for you. They have a lot of different tools, but not all are high quality. Asking an employee where to find an item, is like stepping on their toes. They don't want to be bothered. Friendliness must not be required, in their job description. I only buy what I think will be for limited use, that I can get cheap. Customer service is definitely not priority! We were looking for an item and obviously weren't finding it. A store employee passed right by us and purposely avoided looking our direction so he didn't have to help us and two other employees also avoided us - no eye contact, no asking if we found things - just shoving by us like we were in the way. We tried to order an item online from and add and we were told they didn't have and the add we were looking at was several months old and we would have to go to our local store. We call the store on Sprauge and we were told they couldn't ship it. We are seniors and we don't drive in the snow. We have a small car and don't even think we could get it in the car. Why advertise you will ship the items from a 3or 4 month add and not do it. They didn't even try to help. False advertising if you ask me. read more
