I can't think of anything I've purchased from this store that didn't last or serve it's purpose. There is quality value in everything they carry. I suspect that the products they order & carry are evaluated by staff and they don't put things on the shelves that are junk. I always feel like I am getting good value for what I pay at Peter's Hardware Store. It takes a significant commitment by store staff & ownership to organize hardware in a manner that a DIY person can find things & make sense out of what's available. I asked the associate for history, but he knew nothing. Two delivery men told me that it was the feet on the machine. I asked all the right questions. Thinking that I had a sound machine, I did take it home later that day,m. The next day, we ran a full cycle for testing. This is when the fear started, and we felt safer standing in the hallway. The machine was extremely loud and spun at an amazing speed with decibels volume 107, which can cause hearing loss. We pulled it out, and there was bearing dust on the floor, which confirmed that the bearings were gone. This is a very costly repair and you're better off buying a new machine. They had a $600 tag on this machine.    Brought it back to the store and was told  "no refund" a number of times by the associate & manager . After showing them loud videos & pictures for evidence of what they tried to sell us,we did obtain a refund.  Lowes employee did not run a full cycle to ensure a sound & safe machine prior to resale, and the manager should oversee this. Quality control, mainly with their employees, has lowered in the last 5 years.    There were no apologies but instead received a combative attitude from the manager.

I called to verify they are in stock before driving 2 hours each way. I Immediately asked for someone who knows their roofing screws. A man who doesn't know them insisted on helping. After several minutes of being told they don't make what I want, I was then told they don't even carry roofing screws. They do. I decided to buy for my house and shops from somewhere else. He became rude and refused to give me anyone else. Make your own choice. My roofer friend was certainly correct. Please train your employees on the products and at a bare minimum be polite and willing to transfer a phone call and be willing to verify stock to save someone 4 hours of driving. This was obviously a case of being too lazy just to go check what you actually have. That is terrible service especially when I tell them I'm driving two hours each way and I don't want to come home empty-handed just to have to make the drive again.

The short, older woman always seems bothered to do her job and the blonde lady is just downright awful. They had a younger, dark haired cashier a few months ago who was very friendly and pleasant, but now even checking out is a horrible experience too. Their selection is mid, and their prices make it almost impossible to support them as a small business. I will not be shopping there ever again. Supporting local is important. They have a wide selection of items, from household to gardening to outdoor gear and everything in between.
