Spokane Valley, WA There were no issues with the brick and mortar of this Home Depot, however everything that came after our purchase was a disaster. We purchased a fridge, washer, and dryer. They were supposed to arrive one week later. We had just bought a new home and were living without these appliances. Needless to say, living out of an ice chest and with lots of dirty laundry was not fun. So, the day arrives when we are supposed to receive these appliances. They get here and the deliveryman drops the fridge on our driveway. Then he didn't even have the right tools to install our washer. So the day ended and we still had dirty clothes and no fridge. They replaced the fridge but said it would be another week before it arrived. We called customer service for compensation and they said to call back after we receive the new fridge. We receive the new fridge a week later and there is water leaking out of it. Luckily, these deliverymen were more competent and were able to repair a problem that shouldn't have been there in the first place. As far as the washer goes, my husband and father-in-law were able to install that themselves. We call customer service back for compensation and they offer about $300 (we paid a total of $3,000 for these appliances). We said that seems a little low. She returned with a $450 offer. She then told us a story about how someone paid $9,000 and received $3,000 in compensation. Well, we took that as meaning we could get about 33% for our troubles. But she denied this then hung up on us. We got re-directed to the local store where manager Lori told us that she would have to have her manager, Bob, call us back. He never did. Four days later, we call Home Depot back and they offer us $150. So, now the offer has gone down. We obviously had a problem with this. Finally, Veronica settled on $396 --- lower than one of the initial offers we received. And, she made sure she told us how "generous" this was and that it was way over what she thinks we should receive. Every employee of Home Depot we spoke to acted like this was their own money they were giving away and acted like we were being irrational by expecting money back. We had to go two weeks without our appliances because of the mistakes made by Home Depot's delivery. Specifically, Veronica stated "well, you have everything, don't you?" I want to know how long a customer has to wait for their appliances before it is a big enough problem that they can get compensation. What if it had been a month, two months, a year? To sum it up, we are very disappointed with this entire situation and will not be returning to Home Depot for any purchase. read more

I won't even give them one star after my dealing with them. I had to put a star in order to post this review. Let me tell you our story. We are both retired living on a fixed income and my Husband is a disabled Veteran. Yes they did give us the Military Discount. We have lived in our house for over 34 years and our sump Pump had lasted us at least 30 years. We had to buy a new Sump Pump and went to Home Depot and bought a Everbilt Pedestal Sump Pump which we were told was the best (not). We had this Sump Pump for a little over 3 years and it stopped working so we had to buy another Sump Pump. When we took this Everbilt out the plastic on the bottom was broken , it looked like they over torued the screws. So we went back to Home Depot and got another the same one again because it was suppose to be the best (not). this one only lasted 7 months. When we took it out guess what the very same problem. We had a warranty and when we took both back to Home Depot they said we have a 90 day return policy and wouldn't refund our money even when we showed them it was a manufacturing defect. They told us they would exchange it and give us another Sump Pump. I ask why would I take another bad Pump that they wouldn't stand up. I told them we already had paid to have a new one put in. Then they told us to call the number on their warranty Policy. When I returned home I call Everbilt and got a smart ass that said they would send us another plastic part to replace the two that went bad due to over torqued. I told him we already bought a different Pump and paid to have it installed. He said all he could do is send another plastic part. I ask to talk to his boss and he said his boss didn't take calls. The next thing I did was called the number on the warranty shit the gal at Home Depot gave me. The gentlemen I talked was very nice. I gave him the model number and he told that his company didn't make that sump Pump. That Home Depot pays Everbilt to make that Sump Pump for Home Depot. He said he was very sorry and that if his company had made them he would be happy to refund our money. Then he ask for our address and when I ask why he wanted it he said he would like send us one of his Sump Pumps. I said I just bought and paid to have a new one install and he said just save it for a back up. So to sum it up we have been going to Home Depot and have never returned anything. We have bought a Washer and Dryer a fridge and a lot more but after Home Depot sticking it to us we won't step foot inside that store again. All I can say is buyer beware if you shop a Home Depot because like us you could be out a lot of money. Home Depot wouldn't even admit this Garbage was made especially for Home Depot. In my opinion Home Depot just made a huge business error. I have been a loyal Home Depot customer for more than a decade now and have had a Home Depot card that I use on all my home improvements. I have been in construction for 37 years and shop there alot with cash and credit for the business as well as my personal hd card.. I have always paid 3 times the minimum bill every month and have never been late. I just recently received a letter from them stating as of march 1st the interest on my card is going up to 29.99%. It is ridiculous to punish loyal customers that always pay their bills... I payed off and closed my account this morning. They have not only lost me as a credit account but as a shopper. Racist/ biased profiling at its worst! I am a 6'7" 250lb native male. And every time I walk in these stores I'm followed by multiple employees, especially if I'm in the tool section, looking for my next purchase! Tonight was the that straw! This is the last time that I will go into these stores. I've been in construction for 20 years now and I cannot even imagine how much I've spent in this 20 years in tools, not to mention the materials I've paid for in behalf of my customers. Tonight I walk in fully intent on finding the next tool for my ever growing business tool selection, and a usual I start to notice just moments after I enter that almost 8 different employees start to gather around the tool section that in in. Growing up in spokane in all aware of the underlying facial bias towards me, especially given my size. I've done my best to try to ignore it the majority of the time, but this is the second time in 2 weeks that my experience was a glaring example that how I look is much more important to the employees here than the business I have brought over the years. After trying to ignore them watching my every move I finally select my new skillsaw, since the last one skills aware, bought was a left handed tool and I didn't find that out until I had already arrived at my Hobson and I needed to work more than I needed to waste another hour off the clock returning it and trying to find the correct tool. As I grabbed the tool and started walking 2.5 steps towards the pro desk, where I make all of my purchases, I was stopped by one of the 8 employees who were all watching/ not watching me. He told me that I needed to bring it to the bone pro desk to purchase the tool. I told him: I purchase tools here all the time and I've never I've been told that! He then doubled down and tried to tell me it was their new policy. Just 2 weeks earlier my sister had to drive me to home depot in my truck to help me return materials from a different job. My brother and his employee helped load it into my truck for me, as I had surgery on my ankle the day prior. This time I was given nothing but a negative attitude from two of the older employees in the return section, telling me the bags were damaged from the rain. To be fair the younger female actually checking me out was great. I informed the older lady that the bags were covered under the 4x8 melamine sheets, and that it was not raining when we left the house. Further more that I could not predict the Waltheweather actually enough to know I needed to wrap them in plastic. It only trained for 5 minutes of the 20 minute drive that entire day. After nothing but more attitude from her I asked for the manager, she said she was one, so I asked for her manager. The guy that showed up was very suspicious of me. Again I am a 6'7" 250lb native male, and given the surgery I was in one of their disabled go carts. After I noticed the male managers suspicious I mentioned that I was not happy with how I was being treated, like I was trying to steal from them, when all I was doing was returning in used materials as I've done thousands of times before. Through our talk I mentioned my business account, the work I'vedone over the years and the amount of business the other company I work for does with them. Only then did his attitude start to change. Tonight however, there was no such task with a manager, only suspicions and profiling. Honestly in my experience here in spokane they should be looking at ragged looking white males if they are looking for shop lifters. We all know what a meth has looks like, and I am not that. I am a clean cut male, in new clothes, all be it they are a bit big due to it being impossible to find clothes that fit me correctly, but that is a different battle that I struggle with in a daily. I am sick of spending tens of thousands in tools and 100 in materials each year at a business that looks at me as a their the very second I walk in! Peace out, I know of another business across the street who sells building materials, another tool supplier who sells Milwaukee tools. You will not get a done from me nor any of my customers ever again. I didn't have yelp before this experience. Home Depot's return policy on small appliances stinks. I recently purchased an over the range microwave they normally carry but keep stock in the warehouse, not the store. My only choice was to have it delivered, which made it a "special order" . The delivery person mentioned a 48 hour return/defect notification window but I thought that applied to an installation problem. I wasn't able to install the microwave because of an electrical issue, which took me a few days to figure out. The box was not opened and I thought returning it would be easy, but no go! The return clerk and floor manager absolutely refused. What is really irritating, if I understood the clerk correctly, is they would have processed the return if the microwave had been in stock for me to carry out of the store the day I purchased it. A Home Depot like any other with the following notes: Selection isn't as strong here as some locations. Staff represent the typical range from solidly competent to woefully stupified depending on the area, day of the week, shift etc. I've had good luck in paint and lumber, terrible luck in irrigation.... in any case, don't come to Home Depot for sound advice or suggestions and you won't be disappointed. Prices are low, but so is quality. Shop carefully and take it case by case. Returns are processed quickly with little fuss. Parking lot is ample and less congested than most Home Depots IMO. read more

For years I spent an average of $45k a year here.... Never shopped at lowes.... Always home depot.... Last year my wife said lets try Lowes. Now we spend 70% of our money at lowes. They both carry the same stuff within 80 percent. But the product knowledge at Lowes seems much higher, friendlier staff, and prices are usually better. I'm not saying there is something wrong with Home Depot. I'm still there 3 times a week average! I just pick and choose depending on what projects I am working on. Home depot i've noticed is more geared for contractors, and Lowes is more geared for consumer. I'm both, and I've done enough home work to know where to go for what. For consumer single item stuff, Lowes is usually cheaper. For larger quantity stuff, Home depot gets the trophy. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with Home Depot. Ordered online and used the pick up instore option and received the item sooner than expected. We are so tired of using the gas snowblowers because it's difficult to start/use and i hate smelling like gasoline after every use. We decided to buy a battery operated one for the ease and convenience. Luckily they had this one on sale and for 1" less, the battery lasted twice as long!! Super easy to assemble and it is extremely lightweight at only 35lbs. Unlike the gas snowblower, I can easily carry/transport around without help. I think this is about the best of all the Home Depots in the Spokane area. Seems I get the most knowledgeable help from the folks here, and they have the best overall selection. One nice bonus is, being right next to Costco, I can usually get two stops in on a single trip. Just like we have to go to Costco very regularly to keep my boys fed, it seems like I always need to fix something...so it works out. Other than my preference for this Home Depot over the others in the area, there isn't much to distinguish this from just about every Home Depot in the country. read more

I wish there was an option to give negative stars. We ordered a washer from them well over a month ago. We had it all set up to get it delivered. They called and texted me the Friday before for it to be delivered between 3-7 on Saturday. Inconvenient time, but no big deal since we were getting a new washer and getting rid of our old leaky one. We waited until 8PM Saturday. No call, nothing. No one showed. I called Home Depot and gave us no answers, that they have no clue what happened, and said they wouldn't know anything till Monday. Monday came around, no one called me, so I called. Eventually got a hold of someone, who barely apologized and then said she wanted to reschedule. I told her she needed to make it right. She was adamant to get it rescheduled and then she said she'd make it right. She promised it would be delivered when they said. I set it up for two weeks later on a Saturday. Well guess what!? The website said it would be there between 3-7 and no one showed or called. We called them and they said it happened ten times already that day! They just had to give us a refund as they did for TEN (yes 10!) other customers. No effort to even try and make it right for all of our wasted time. And they can't start processing the refund till Monday. No washer for us AND a lot of wasted time! How do you guys stay in business? This has set the bar even lower for terrible customer service. The staff was helpful. My gripe is the amount of people not wearing masks. Families walking around without any masks and lots of people with them on their chins. When we asked a clerk why they don't enforce the masks was told they don't want to create conflict. "Come on Man" What about the overall general public's health? Curbside pickup is an option but you can't always find exactly what you need with this. I usually like looking around and picking up extra things. Let me set the stage. I've been looking at charcoal grills for some time and finally decided to pull the trigger. I looked at the long line of the same model that was the one I wanted. I start pouring over them to see which one had the nicest look as far as patina. There wasn't one that wasn't dirty or with the grill still inside, or with the inside not covered in rust. There was something bad about all of them but one, the inside floor model. My wife went to grab some help and came back with three men. One was the Traeger guy. They spotted a guy looking at Traegers and flocked to him, ignored my literal calls for help and walked away. On the other side of the aisle I saw a worker and asked for help. He froze as if I couldn't see him. I continued to call to him and has to actually start describing him so he knew I was talking to him. When he came over he said that he would have to talk to management about either getting me the floor model or a discount on one of the lesser quality units. I said that would be great and there was a stare off....as if the option to talk to management wasn't real after all. I waited him out till he sighed and walked away. This store used to be a great store to shop in. Over the past year this place has gone downhill, hard. Employees all used to be knowledgeable and helpful. Now? A few still are, but most I've encountered are either rude, dismissive, or can't be bothered. The ones that do try and help have little to no idea about a hardware store. It's pathetic. Then there's the on-going inventory issues. The app says they have an item in stock. I call and the store says it's in stock. I go to the store to buy an item and it's either not there or they have no idea where the item is. What is going on in this clown show? Management must be out of their minds or are just totally apathetic about the condition of their store. I am not shopping here anymore and I am cancelling my Home Depot card once I pay it off. Horrible customer service. I arrived at curbside pick up and waited 20 minutes outside only to find out that they're no longer doing curbside pick up after 6 PM. No signs visible in the parking lot where you were supposed to park. When I called, the lady who answered the wouldn't accept my comment on poor signage and was rude. The customer is always wrong at Home Depot. When I went to go pick up my items there's a line with 15 people outside and only one person doing returns and pick ups. Huge waste of time. Don't bother with curbside pickup, save yourself time and just go in and get it. Or better yet shop somewhere else. read more

I went HD looking for a handle assembly for my broken toilet. I entered the store and wandered about to the place I recalled plumbing might be. An employee named Bill saw me wandering and asked if he could help me find anything. I told him what I was looking for and he said, "You can find it on aisle 39, left hand side, last bay". Guess what, he was right. BTW, I parked in the veteran's parking spot, got a military discount and got in and out of the store in less than 10 Minutes. My kind of shopping! read more

A veteran that had been patronizing this establishment for years went to the cash register and asked for his veterans discount. He replied they've always gave me one. The cashier calls the manager over and he tells him he no longer qualifies for a discount. The veteran says he will take his business elsewhere. A kind person steps in and questions the manager and the manager rudely keeps replying with the same answer. If managers can't be respectful to customers this is no place I care to do business with. read more

Excellent service and employees here. The greeter actually walked me to where I needed to go to grab some plumbing supplies. They helped me load up some concrete blocks as well. Not sure where people are getting they do not give military discounts because we sure got one. Sounds like a bunch of misinformed idiots. Vets get discount on special days through out year and active military get discount all year every day. They have a lot of landscaping plants and flowers, some with nice discounts as well. I use to enjoy shopping at Home Depot prior to moving to Spokane, WA and visiting this store. I use to exclusively shop at store 8582 before moving and it was always a pleasant experience. I use to take my family and we would attend the workshops. All the employees were professional and respectful. I even got to meet the district manager during a 4th of July weekend as he was greeting customers and offering beverages and hot dogs. To this day my son still talks about that pleasant experience. Unfortunately, now I can even take my son to Home Depot to shield him from having a bad experience. In 2018 we visited the store during Memorial Day weekend and they were also grilling hot dogs and offering beverages. My son asked for one and we took our hot dogs and made our way into the store. That's when our experience was tainted by a store associate that followed us and proceeded to make gobble noise's as we tried to enjoy our hot dogs. Since that day I have never taken my son back to the store. Then in 2019 I decided to visit the store during Black Friday to take advantage of the sales. That was a big mistake. During that shopping experience a lady kept following which seemed odd. But I didn't think much of it because she was dressed in plain clothing. After picking up all my desired items I proceeded to checkout section. As I was waiting in line I noticed the lady that was following me was now conversing with a store manager and other associates. That's when I put the pieces together that I was profiled as a shoplifter. I continued to check out and shared my experience with the cashier. She then shared that i was followed because I had tool in my cart. That infuriated me and I proceeded to confront the lady that was clearly a store employee. She was taken back and tried to give me a explanation. She did apologize but the store manager stood there shock and didn't say anything to me. I continued to shop at the store but proceeded to make my purchases online and then pick them up. But after a couple bad experiences I decided to stop. Last week I decided to visit the store because I purchased a new kitchen faucet and glass rinser through Amazon. But I required a longer 3/8 compression hose to complete the installation. During that visit an employee followed me all the way to check out. Then stood by the exit as I used the self checkout. He then proceeded to engage in conversation with another store employee about shoplifters as he stared me down to ensure I knew he was referring to me. This store has some serious leadership issues and ruins the Home Depot brand. I recommend everyone to stay away. read more

This particular location has a cocky and rude manager who will not give respect to the elderly and who (rudely) refused a discount to a veteran who has always gotten one before. As a (former) customer, I wonder whatever happened to the customer comes first, the customer is always right, etc.? It is within the manager's ability to give a discount and it should be that all veterans always receive a discount to thank them for their service.
