Every once in a while I stop by at this Harbor Freight store. It is always well stocked and has just about every tool that you need for any home project. The store is very well maintained. One of the employees happened to come by and asked me if he could help me. As always their staff is helpful and will even walk me over to what I need. I explained to him what I needed and he guided me to a shelf stocked with lubricants and told me to give this particular one a try. I just wasn't going to buy another tool to just use it once. I bought a few other items but those items will be used. As most of you well know they change some of the brands over the years but all in all any of their power tools are decent at almost half the price of buying a name brand. Today is a good day and I am hoping this will do the trick. read more

I bought a jack and transmission lift from Harbor freight and one day after the warranty expired, one of the wheels of the jack broke off when I called to the store where I bought it they said, "sorry you'll have to take it up with their ereplacement dept. So I called Replacement Parts, which information they gave to me and after speaking with Chris he renewed my warranty and covered the part that I needed and he sent it to me at no charge. Unfortunately, it was the wrong wheel. I don't know if it was his fault or not but I called to tell him what happened and they sent me another one which was pretty good of them to do so. They have a pretty decent return policy and I will continue to go there just on that experience incident. I have bought a lot of things from HarborFreight and 99% of what I have purchased from them I still have, I was Mechanic for many years and some of the tools out are way too expensive but also way better. I just can't really afford them. So think and buy smart and you will do OK. read more

Although there are several tool stores in my area, this is my choice for purchasing tools and various small gadgets, not just for use at home but as affordable and useful gifts as well. Mid-size, not as huge as a Lowe's or Home Depot but well-stocked with many items, some of which are not found in the bigger places, and definitely with lower prices. Lots of frequently advertised sale items, too. read more

Going to Harbor Freight, for me, is like going to the Home Depot of tools. I will confess to you that if I was looking for really good tools, I wouldn't buy them here. But for what they offer, their merchandise is pretty good. I particularly like this store and the 32nd st and Thomas store. They are always willing to help me find whatever I need and usually more. I discovered today that in the back corner of each store, they have a clearance section. That is always worth a look for things you don't need. read more

I've always used Home Depot, tried Harbor Freight out of necessity. Bought a pump to clear water out of a dig. I took to site, pump didn't work at all. Took back to the store and they told me that I needed a different hose (even though the guy at the store helping me picked out the first 2 hoses I purchased w the machine). I bought the hose (3rd one from that store at this point) and pump still didn't work at all. Took the pump back to the store and they don't do returns...even same day, 60 minutes after purchasing when it's barely been taken out of the box and it's clearly a defective product. They don't do exchanges either. I'm supposed to call the manufacturer (who makes crappy pumps apparently) for a credit that then I could use at Harbor Freight (who sells crap products apparently) and I'd expect the cycle would repeat itself. Back to Home Depot and I'll wait for the product I wanted to be shipped. read more

This isn't Ace. It isn't even Home Depot. But if you need cheap, practical tools;this place is amazing. Cheap paint stuff, dust masks, gloves of all varieties, hand tools, power tools--the works. They also have a variety of tarps, tape, etc. Sakes are amazing. Just go have a look. read more

This Harbor Freight is located in the middle of the strip-mall, essentially the building in the NE corner of the "West Plaza Shopping Center." They have coupons for 20% off on a regular basis but the stupid LED flashlights are usually gone ASAP. I've never been during the day, but around 8:30pm when they're about to close. Decent store, lots of inexpensive, Chinese-made hardware and gadgets. I had to knock a star off because the traffic in this area is just terrible with Walmart there. read more

Disappointed in the staff. The manager stood in front of the exit door as people were leaving not saying a word, not offering to open the door or even move out of the way so we didn't have to smush thru all at once. Staff was rude and seemed like us customers were making their lives a living hell by shopping in their store. It is what it is. Cheaply made foreign tools at a cheap price. There are a few deals if you know where to look. Their hand tools, (sockets, wrenches, ratchets, etc.) have the same lifetime warranty as Sears and some of the others at a fraction of the cost. I've never had one fail, but I understand some do. Customer service is acceptable, but not impressive. Good selection. read more

When I moved to AZ all my mechanical friends recommend Harbor Freight. Ever since my first visit I've been hooked. They have lots of great sales and the best prices on tools. It's definitely a smaller hardware store but the selection is great. I'd say everything but raw materials should be bought here. If you don't know what you're doing on the project, however, I'd probably hit home depot as they are more geared towards customer service. Typically they are so busy at HF, due to the sales, that all hands are on deck at the registers- not so much in the isles. I'll be back for sure. read more

This is the go-to store for the annual impossible tool search the hubby sends me on each holiday. It has items you did not even know existed and unless you are a serious handy man or DIY'er. It has a lot of different tools and hardware items. I like that the aisles are not so tall you can't see over them or the store too large to find anything. It has a lot of very helpful staff who will take you right to the item. The prices are great and if you sign up with them you get even more deep discounts. There is nothing fancy or frilly about this place - it is just your basic tool store. No items you don't need like the big box hardware stores. They also have some funky items that are great tools you didn't know existed or is perfect for something. read more

July 4, 2019. Today I made the 50+ mile round trip to the Harbor Freight nearest to take advantage of your 25% off any one item sale. Imagine my disgust when I sought out the 1 item I was interested in only to find it's price had been increased had been increased by almost 30% in the last 4 weeks AND was excluded from the coupon discount. While I understand you are in business to make money, this flagrant rip-off of the public is just plain inexcusable. I left the store without the item and felt very sorry for the employees who have to listen to the irate customers (yes, me included) complain about corporate decisions. The store wasn't very busy, so it seemed that some of the buying public had caught on. I've been a customer of Harbor Freight for the better part of 29 years. It looks like I'll be frequenting Ace from now on. At least there, I know the prices and their sales work well with no exclusions. A former customer. read more

I have been to many Harbor Freight stores here in the "valley". Most, the staff have been very helpful and only 5 or 6 people in line at the most. Great deals on merchandise for those that are patient ; ) This location at 35th Ave and Bethany Home is the worst. On some Fridays at about 2pm, the management and day staff goes home early leaving the store short staffed with only 2 clerks. One has a bad attitude. The "head cashier" who looks like she's a local tweaker allowed a line to build up of literally 20 customers and refused to open a register herself. The only cashier that was open was helping a customer for about 15 minutes with check problems and was dialing away numbers to the Camarillo, CA office to get approval. It took her 15 minutes to reach someone in accounting while the 20 of us stood in a long line waiting. Some of us asked the head cashier to open up a register and ring us up. She refused and blamed the company for short staffing her. Bad attitude. Told us this is just the was it is on Fridays when the staff runs out from day shift. Finally at 3pm a manager walks in the store and asks whats going on. Some of us customers complained and this cashier finally hops on a register so she doesn't get reamed by the manager. I will not be back to this store location. I will stick with the Glendale and Tempe locations. read more
