Amazing restaurant, service, and food. It is innovative, and unassuming. The food is what you would expect in San Francisco - delicious, fresh, and never boring. They do basic things very very well. For example, I had a breakfast sandwich this morning with their homemade sausage. There is an incredible aïoli on it, on perfectly toasted sesame focaccia bread. Come and support this business! I hope it stays forever. read more

We were passing through and just happened to find this place and boy am I grateful we stopped in for a bite! We had breakfast here and got the ricotta toast, Caesar salad, pie, and drip coffee. Everything was 10/10!!! It was the best ricotta toast, the bread was perfectly toasted, and just thick enough. The pea shoots on top were lovely, and the shallots balanced everything nicely. The salad was also SO tasty, the dill was a nice touch. Crunchy and filling, an excellent salad. The pie was really stand out, and we don't have sweet teeth. I can't wait to drive through and stop by again! Oh, and the staff were incredibly friendly! read more

We were so happy to find this cute little place. The dishes are flavorful and unique and the presentation beautiful. We were hooked from the first bite. The freshness of the ingredients and the breads really made each dish shine. Add to that friendly service and Happy Mediums is a new favorite. Standouts for us were the roasted cauliflower and the French toast bread pudding. Also really appreciated the cold bottle for our table when we decided to drink water. Instant 5 stars! read more

Happy Mediums - Avocado Toast and Smoked Fish gluten free Toast and gluten free toast with jam - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Calimesa, California

Happy Mediums Is Anything But "Medium." Happy Mediums is the kind of café that quietly ruins your standards for all other cafés. At first glance, it's effortlessly cool--warm, inviting, and unpretentious in that we-know-what-we're-doing way. But then the food arrives, and suddenly this is no longer a casual stop. This is an experience. The muffaletta deserves its own standing ovation. Perfectly balanced, deeply flavorful, and generously layered, it's the kind of sandwich that makes you pause mid-bite because your brain needs a second to catch up. Savory, bright, satisfying--this is how a muffaletta is supposed to taste. And just when you think you've peaked... the passionfruit pie shows up and casually steals the show. Tart, silky, and beautifully restrained, it hits that rare sweet spot where dessert feels indulgent without being overwhelming. One bite turns into several, and suddenly you're considering ordering another "for later." (You won't wait.) The café-style vibe is relaxed but intentional, and the service is genuinely warm--friendly without hovering, knowledgeable without being pushy. It feels like a place run by people who care deeply about quality and somehow make it all look easy. Happy Mediums isn't trying too hard. It doesn't need to. It's confidently excellent, and that's what makes it special. If you're local, this should already be on your rotation. If you're visiting, make it a priority. Five stars, no hesitation. I'll be back--probably sooner than I should admit. read more

I don't even know how to start! Happy Mediums came highly recommended by Lucid Coffee (in the same shopping center); Lucid Coffee is incidentally also really amazing Coffee, so try that too. Anyway, my wife and I came in for the first time last week and ordered the avocado toast and the smoked fish toast. Since it was our first time, we also got a piece passion fruit pie. The avocado toast was hands down the best avocado toast we have ever had in our entire life, and my wife orders avocado toast at most places she goes to for brunch. This avocado toast is leagues better than anything else we have had. I will usually prepare myself smoked salmon and cream cheese on a bagel for breakfast, so naturally I ordered the smoked fish toast. I can't begin to tell you all of the amazing flavors and textures both of these dishes had. Absolutely divine! The service is amazing and they even gave us a complimentary piece of pie. This pie...OMG! This pie! My wife hates passion fruit, but this pie is her new guilty pleasure. Made in a way that is very reminiscent of key lime pie, this pie is sure to keep you coming back here! Since we are foodies, we went up to San Francisco for the weekend and partook in a pretty incredible food scene. It was good, but we couldn't wait to come back to Happy Mediums for another brunch! We came in today and ordered the roasted cauliflower and the classic hoagie (avocado). Both were absolutely delectable! The burst of flavors and textures were so complex that these dishes cannot be described as anything short of creative genius. We also had the French toast bread pudding to finish off the meal. You know how when you take a bite of something that is so surprisingly incredible that it knocks you back and makes you lose your train of thought?!?! Every single bite was like that! Each bite was more delectable than the last. There is seating inside and outside, which we have chosen to sit outside both times we have ate here. The restaurant is very clean, their coffee and tea is absolutely delightful and the atmosphere is light, fun, and friendly. I cannot recommend this place enough...really, I was stopping people in the parking lot to rave about how awesome this place is. Everyone that I know that has eaten here say the same thing...this food is life changing! read more

The food at this place was so delicious! We ordered two breakfast sandwiches, smoked fish toast, a muffaletta sandwich, and a passion fruit pie. The passion fruit pie was free since this was my first time here. My personal favorite was the muffaletta sandwich, which was very flavorful - some people think this sandwich can be a bit heavy but I didn't feel that way. The breakfast sandwich was a close second for me. The service was also really good - the employee helped move some chairs and a table outside for us since I was with my new niece in a stroller, and outdoors seating was easier for us. Would definitely come back here! read more

Everything here was so amazing. The service was absolutely next level, and the food was so incredible. Very chill, adorable little spot. My boyfriend had the Muffaletta (sp ? lol) and it was absolutely beautiful. I have an autoimmune disease and can't have gluten and they made the most delicious breakfast sandwich, the gluten-free bread was scary good, like I second guessed it a little bit even. The young lady with the pastel hair up front was super sweet and accommodating and even had the chef do a little gluten free treat for me at the end. He was also very sweet, and talked to us about getting the bread locally from the bakery next door. We're already planning what to order on our next visit. Thank you!! Also I apologize for no pictures, we were too excited read more

The food was absolutely amazing. It was very fresh and filling. I got the popular muffeleta. Completely filled with fresh cut meats and their homemade pickles. Halfway through my Breakfast sandwich, I was already planning my next visit! The food was delicious, so fresh tasting. We also had the Muffuletta sandwich. They offer this one as a half, but get the whole so you have another one to enjoy the next day. Also, because we were first time guests, they included a slice of the passion fruit pie. Wow! It was tangy and creamy. So good! The service was friendly and welcomed. The space is small but very comfortable. Guests were kind about moving on and cleaning up after themselves so you can grab a table. Like I said, when can we make another visit to Happy Mediums? read more

Give this place a chance if you're near! Their Ruben sandwich was absolutely fantastic. Passionfruit pie could use more passionfruit flavor but otherwise also delicious (cream topping was divine). The B.L.T is a must have! Overall, I've always had great service and great food! I'm looking forward to coming back.

Ahhhh finally a local spot that feels like you're having brunch in downtown Redlands. The vibes, food, and service here - how lucky to be so close to a gem like this. There were lots of vegetarian and healthy options as well which we appreciated since there are not many local restaurants nearby that gives such a variety of options. We ordered an avocado toast, breakfast sandwich, and grain bowl for our first visit. Each item just felt very well thought out, fresh, and you can just tell by the way the dishes were presented that food is a passion for the masterminds behind these dishes. I loved that that while their focaccia bread was made in house, they used the bread from Village Bakery a few stores down as well (definitely appreciate a small business who also supports other small businesses!). We also got to try a slice of passion fruit pie which the owner, Shay, said he gave to all first time customers and OMG AMAZING!! I have never tasted anything like that before with such vibes flavors and for sure, will be ordering this delicious treat again. My family and I will definitely be back at Happy Mediums to support a small business that chose to open their doors locally in Calimesa. Looking forward to trying other options in the menu in the near future! read more

Happy Mediums is the sandwich and food shop in the former Village Bread location in Calimesa. It is outstanding. We had the avocado toast, breakfast sandwich (with the house-made sausage) and the crispy potato. All excellent. This will be our first of many visits. My Gen-Z daughter said the avocado toast was the best she's ever had, and noted the extras on this one - a passion fruit puree and a mild chili oil. Of course it used Village Bread for its sourdough base. It looked fabulous. The owner noted their pagers reach to Village Bread and even to George's Market next door. So you can put in your order, shop for your goods at the two other places, and grab your sandwich afterward when it's ready! If you're into locally-sourced ingredients, and savory recipes that will surprise you, then this is the place for you. read more

A local gem We ordered a few sandwiches to-go and everything was absolutely delicious! The pimento cheese sandwich is full of flavor and just melts in your mouth, the ham and butter sandwich is perfect in every way, and the muffaleta is impressive in size, beautifully put together,0 and packed with flavor. I first tried Happy Mediums after seeing a positive online video. I went and got the same order that I'd seen in the video. I got a muffuletta sandwich, smashed potatoes and the passion fruit pie. Everything was not only good, but exceptionally delicious! The bread was amazing, the fillings were fresh and swoon worthy, the potatoes were the best I've ever had, served with an incredible sauce and a wedge of lemon and the pie was to die for. I kept thinking about the fantastic food and quickly went back with a friend. This time I tried the tri tip sandwich, the potatoes again and the French toast bread pudding with lemon curd. The sandwich was like nothing I've ever tasted. It had melt in your mouth cubes of tri tip with orange slices and one of the best sauces I've ever had. The dessert was so so good. I met the owner and he was wonderful and very generous, giving my friend and I a Caesar salad to try. Which was amazing. I really can't say enough about this little gem of a restaurant. The attention to detail and special touches along with the wonderful service and just the quality of the food is something I don't experience often when going to a restaurant! read more

Happy Mediums catered a celebration of life at my home. Dealing with Bonnie was a sheer pleasure. She made recommendations and some modifications to their sandwiches to arrive at a perfect array of flavors and selections. They delivered exactly at the time promised, and plated all the selections onto serving trays very efficiently. The presentation was beautiful and they provided a description of each item on cards, so everyone knew what they were selecting. Everyone was blown away with the food. I was surprised to see that Bonnie brought to-go containers, but it was a brilliant idea because many of the guests took advantage. Everyone was happy to bring leftovers home to share with others, or continue the fantastic taste sensation for themselves. read more
