Great Food, Great Service, and a Relaxed Atmosphere…read more I had a really enjoyable experience here. The pretzel with cheese was delicious, and Sammy recommended the salmon, which was excellent. Sammy was especially great--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Her customer service really stood out. It's refreshing to have someone who takes pride in making sure customers have a good experience. More restaurants could take a page from Sammy's book because good customer service can make just as much of a difference as good food. Sammy made the visit feel personal and comfortable without being overbearing. The restaurant wasn't too busy when I visited, which made for a nice, chill atmosphere. The 80s music was also a great touch and added to the relaxed vibe. Between the food, atmosphere, and especially the service, this was a great experience. I'd definitely come back!

Food: We ordered the half Reuben sandwich with a side of warm German potato salad, a spicy…read moreHungarian sausage, and finished with a cherry strudel for dessert alongside a German beer on tap. The Reuben and potato salad combo was especially hearty and satisfying, with rich, savory flavors that felt very true to a classic deli experience. The Hungarian sausage had a great depth of flavor, savory and well-seasoned without tipping into being overly salty. The cherry strudel was a standout to end the meal, filled generously with cherries and syrup, wrapped in a flaky pastry that balanced sweetness and texture really well. The beer tied everything together nicely, cold and refreshing, and exactly what you'd want with this kind of meal. I still prefer Busy Bees in San Pedro, but this was a nice alternative within the IE area. Price: George's Market falls into a casual, reasonable deli pricing tier. Sandwiches like the Reuben and similar deli items are generally in the mid‑teens range, while sausage plates and hot meals can push closer to around $15-20 depending on what you get. Beer and imported items vary, but overall you can expect to spend about $15-25 per person for a solid, filling meal. Given the quality, portion sizes, and specialty nature of the food, the pricing feels fair. Ambiance: The space is part cozy German market, part deli counter, with a warm, wood-heavy interior that feels inviting and a bit nostalgic. There's both indoor seating and an outdoor area, giving flexibility depending on the weather or how busy it is. Beyond the dining area, the market itself sells a wide range of German groceries and specialty products, which adds to the charm and makes it feel like more of an experience than just a quick meal. Service: Service was good and impressively efficient given how busy it gets. There was a noticeable line when we went (especially on a weekend lunch time), but things moved steadily and the staff kept everything organized without feeling rushed or chaotic. Friendly and straightforward overall. Parking: Parking is one of the easier parts of the visit. It's located in a plaza with a large shared lot, so there's plenty of space and no real hassle finding a spot, even during peak hours.

This time we got the pineapple curry and OMG. Mmm, mmm, MMM. Every bite. The soup was delicious, the pineapple curry was packed with flavor, and I already know the salad is good because their dressing is bomb. The flavors here are always so on point. My only complaint food-wise is the rice portion is a little skimpy. If you're going to split the lunch special like we do, you'll definitely need some extra rice. But if you're trying to be super skimpy and have an affordable lunch for two, this is the way to do it! The Thai tea was a little pricey, but honestly, I think it's probably around market price these days. Now, the service and ambiance? Ehhh. You basically walk in, put your name on a little sign-in sheet, and wait to be seated. There's not much of a greeting or interaction, and the ambiance is just regular and chill, nothing special. Soooo I started this review thinking it was five stars, but now that I'm writing it out... it's probably more like a solid four-star experience with FIVE-STAR FOOD. Because let's be real, you're not coming here for the ambiance. You're not really coming for the service. You're coming because the food is freaking delicious and the lunch specials are a great deal. The only reason it caught my eye was because our tax preparer was just down the street. It was obviously well loved by the locals after reading their great reviews and seeing a full parking lot. And this was on a Wednesday. We only had time for a quick bite, ordering nothing out of the ordinary. A quickie breakfast of sausage, scrambled eggs, and pancake, were all we had, but everything was nicely done. The pancake was big, light and airy, served with a carafe of warm syrup and a huge scoop of butter. The scrambled eggs were moist and fluffy, the sausage was basically a Farmer John sausage patty that was properly warmed but not overcooked, and very good tasting. My only criticism was the coffee being too thin for my liking, but keeping our coffee mugs filled was something they definitely did well! The service was wonderful. They knew we were in a rush, and handled us with TLC the entire 35 minutes we had. We started with the falafel balls, dolmades, and hummus with pita bread. All three appetizers were delicious! What a great way to start our meal. They definitely set the bar high. For our main dishes, we ordered the chicken gyro and the beef kabob plate. The chicken gyro was pretty good! Great flavors, although the chicken was a little on the dry side. I would personally give the chicken gyro 4 stars. Now, the beef kabob was a different story. Flavorful, tender, and absolutely delicious! My only complaint? THE PRICE! At $25.99, I expected a little more than just ONE beef kabob with a generous amount of rice, salad, and pita bread on top.
