Definitely not worth the wait. Waited in line nearly 30 minutes, waited for our drinks for another 20, and picked up our drinks only to be told our bubble waffle wasn't ready. Then was told there are 8 waffles ahead of mine and it takes 4 minutes per waffle, so I'm stuck sitting here waiting another 20 minutes while our drinks are finished for one waffle. I told staff they should warn people how long the waffle would take when the place their order as I waited around with similarly disgruntled customers also caught off guard by the waffle wait. Seriously, get another one or two waffle irons. The waffle is also very plain. It appears to be made from fortune cookie batter, but not as sweet. Without the accompaniment of a topping, this will disappoint most as the novelty of the bubbles can't carry this flavorless treat. Drink A2 and A3 tasted exactly the same. A3 was supposed to be Oreo cookie flavor, but the only semblance of Oreo was the specked cream smeared on the inside wall of the cup. The staff seriously lacks any coordination, communication, and awareness. With as many hands on deck there shouldn't be as much chaos as there was. There are people with orders placed waiting outside the overcrowded store and the staff whispers numbers out expecting people to hear them. Many people bobbed and weaved back in to the store to ask if their number was called as other drinks sat getting warm. Store lacks leadership and a system of organization to handle any volume. I recommend skipping the line and hitting up your established, local, favorite bubble tea shop for a more hassle free thirst quencher. I have never really tried anything from happy lemon except for their classic milk tea which is not my favorite but not the worst (personal opinion). But today I was risky and tried the Jasmine Tea with Crema and normally unexplored drinks are a hit or miss but thoroughly enjoyed this one. It was salty and refreshing at the same time. I'm easy to please...but Happy Lemon is definitely one of the best places I've even ordered these types of drinks at! First off, they are the only place I know that carries taro balls. I saw the coming soon sign two months ago for BSQ's Happy Lemon and finally, it's here! I didn't know the exact opening date, but I was looking for dessert around the area and this place popped up. Good thing I didn't miss the opening weekend! Perks @ opening week: Double stamps and free upgrade to Large. Bam! Happy Lemon is my favorite boba tea place because of their famous salted cheese. I found out that this location has the "rock salt crema" instead. I was a little bit skeptical because I do not like crema from other tea places, but figured I'd still try it and see if I like their version. When we arrived on a Sunday afternoon after our super late lunch/early dinner meal, the line was pretty long. I wasn't paying attention how long it took for us to get to the front, but it for sure took more than 20 mins. Hopefully this dies down soon because I'd like to keep going back. Drinks took less than 5 mins; pretty good wait. I ordered the Black Tea w/ Rock Salt Crema and Avocado Matcha for myself. My bf got the Milk Tea w/ Rock Salt Crema. I'm blown away with the flavor of the Avocado Matcha and the Rock Salt Crema. The Crema is in fact their Salted Cheese! I initially went here not expecting much because that's usually my mindset whenever places do their grand opening. My first time experience here didn't disappoint and in fact, exceeded my expectations. A lot of things are in check for this place: customer service, quality products, and great decor! Finally was able to give this place a try! It is located inside the mall right where red mango used to be. It's really small and always crowded, due to the line that curves outside the door. There's only one main menu which is inside right above the cashier. When you get towards the door there's another menu but it only shows you their recommendations. I was very sad because their bubble waffle is currently unavailable. And I noticed a few items on their menu is too. From my last visit, a lot of the drinks were marked unavailable. I decided to go with the Jasmine Green Tea with rock salt crema. They do ask you at the cashier with the option of catering your drinks the way you want it to be with sweetness, ice, and etc. However, I didn't change anything. Though I wished I have, there was way too much crema for my preference. I prefer more tea and a little bit of crema. But, it's good to know for next time. This place always has a long line and the line does not go fast so be patient. I came in and waited in the line. It went to outside of the store. I like how this place has variety of toppings(taro balls, lychee balls, and etc.) I asked the staff how the taro balls tasted like and she offered me to try them for free of charge. I really liked it, but ended up going with the rock salt foam with Jasmine green tea with no toppings instead. I would say the tea in general is a 3.5/5. But I give it another .5 for the service. The rock salt foam here tasted better than Mi tea personally. The tea was fine, nothing special. I wouldn't wait in the long line for this place tho. Happy lemon is my new go-to spot for boba. You can actually taste the tea in their milk tea, unlike places where it just tastes like sugary milk! I also love that they do bubble waffles - if you've never had one, go get one now because it's SO GOOD. That being said, don't expect to wait less than half an hour on a weekend because the line goes out the door and bubble waffles only cook so fast. There's also minimal seating. They also make puffle / egg waffles but they're very high demand so be prepared to wait up to half an hour at times (especially when the store is packed). The reason I took off one star is some of the workers here can be very rude as I had to argue with one of them what I ordered??? They handed me the wrong drink and as I told them I ordered a puff cream milktea they said I did not and ordered the boba milktea. The tea is strong and the mix with the tangy from the lemon and sweet from their house syrup is amaze balls. I was disappointed that they ran out of boba today. From the East Coast so I may have a bit of a different perspective but this was honestly one of the best boba places I have tried. (subtle Asian traits agrees with me and ranked this as one of the top boba places on the West Coast) I've tried boba guys and still think this is the clear winner. I came here twice so I tried two different drinks as well as the regular bubble waffle. My favorite by far was the Jasmine Green tea with Rock Salt Crema. I got bubbles in this drink but I actually recommend against it otherwise it's hard to fully enjoy the saltiness of the cream with the sweetness of the tea. My friend also got the Taro ball drink which I also thought was excellent. The black tea flavor was strong and refreshing. The bubble waffle was surprisingly so good! It wasn't very sweet so don't be expecting something similar to an American waffle. It was light, crispy and paired perfectly with the sweet drinks we got. We came around 9:00 pm to find a line that was quite long (all the way outside the store) but were able to order and receive our drinks by closing (9:30pm) The only critique I have is that service is a quite slow. So excited for a boba shop to finally open in the mall. While sharetea and drive thru boba are within walking distance, in the heat and snow I sure as heck am not braving the elements if i don't have to. Also they have consistent hours so you can count on Happy Lemon when you need your boba fix. Flavor wise the original milk tea with boba taste very similar to sharetea. I think the 50% sweetness is a tiny bit sweeter than the sharetea 50% but hardly noticeable and of course you can customize your sweetness and ice levels to your liking. A medium cup was $4.40. Definitely going to stop by every time I come to the mall. Also shout out to the girl working the register when I came in. It was her first day and she was making her way through the line efficiently and with a smile. And a final shout out to the drink makers for a clean and sticky free cup upon delivery. Don't count on a great Happy lemon consistency. I had it before in California and this place doesn't compare. I ordered grapefruit green jasmine tea 0 sugar and less ice with boba. And ended up with a sugary drink made with sweet grapefruit juice. If you are used to fresh squeezed grapefruit boba drink from a happy lemon in California you can imagine my disappointment. Well the cashier could easily let me know the drink is made with syrupy juice. Can a person get a sugar less diabetes free drink at this place? Tried this for the first time. I got the milk tea with boba and it had the right amount of sugar level in it. If you do not like really sweet drinks than you should change the sugar level. I would totally come back to try the other teas or bubble/egg waffle. Although, the boba was inconsistent and some of the boba textures were a bit off. For Seattle/Bellevue-ites used to the bubble tea that you can find at Viet restaurants around the city, the style so accurately named "snow" at Oasis, this is NOT that. Happy Lemon consists of milk and tea drinks (drinks that have the same consistency as water) flavored by different combinations of tea and fruits. You should know this before you go in expecting something different! Maybe I should have started with this... but I LOVE the drinks at Happy Lemon! While Happy Lemon's drinks are solid (and better than Mi Tea), I feel that the customer service and operations in the back need some work. The lines and waits are long often because of inefficiencies of the workers there. I don't understand how they have so many people in the back but they can't turn drinks out timely. They often mess up the orders, like putting in the wrong toppings. It seems quite disorganized back there. There were people who ordered after me getting their drinks before me. I ordered a simple Milk Tea with Taro Balls. I saw those people get a green tea with salt cream and taro ball, and another person who got a milk tea. So it wasn't like they were missing anything to make my drink first (in the order it was received). The workers there also seem to lack a sense of urgency. Sometimes I see the line around the corner, but the girls are still chit chatting leisurely and giggling in the back. The smiles and chit chat doesn't transfer to the girl at the register though, who is almost always stoic and not the least bit friendly. In summary, they have a good product. Excited to try this place after seeing so many of my friends enjoy the place and the drinks. I got the original egg waffle without toppings and a honey lemon jasmine tea. The egg waffle did not disappoint and was made fresh to order- crunchy on biting down and soft/chewy on the inside. You can also add toppings and there is a chocolate option available. My drink was only 80% sweet but it was still too much, will have to go 50% next time.
