Wanted to try a new spot but was disappointed. Severely understaffed. The drinks are much more expensive compared to ones you can get elsewhere for a more unique and authentic taste. The drink itself was okay.

I was looking for a place to get a refreshment and this was the only bubble tea place I found. They have options of black and green tea then you can add the flavor to it. If those are not your preference they also have house faves which includes ube and Thai tea. I asked the lady at the front for what do they use for the Thai tea and she mentioned they make fresh tea daily. Yayyy not powder. I ordered Thai tea with rainbow jelly and it tasted good. I am not sure what kind of milk do they use but it was not as rich as my liking. Overall great though. They also serve ice cream and they have some toppings. Seating option: indoor and outdoor

$7+ sundae, a rather meager portion.

We have come on two occasions since we love to support local. However, both times were a bit disappointing. The first time we ordered boba about 1 month after they opened so we came back a second time to check it out this week. After the second visit we would give them 3.5 stars/5 stars so I rounded up to 4. The first time we ordered the classic milk tea to try it out. We ordered 75% sweet and it was still pretty sweet. The tea itself was decent, well brewed and not bitter. However, the boba was a bit on the softer side and not as sweet as normal as if it wasn't soaked in the sugar long enough. We would give them a 4/5 for boba, but they were a bit stingy on the boba itself and so we finished the boba long before the tea so gave it a 3/5. The second time we ordered ice cream. They had a new special boba sundae and sundae menu which we were tempted to try. We ordered the vanilla sundae with boba and were excited to try it. The price was a bit high and came out to over $7 with tax. The sundae itself was a pretty small portion of ice cream - probably 1 large scoop at an ice creamery and some caramel sauce. The boba was well seasoned but slightly soggy and they gave us a trader joes cookie on the side. For the price I think they could have given a little more ice cream. However, the flavor combination was good. The ambiance was small with some seating, but it is hot when sunny which is not fun when you are trying to escape the heat. Otherwise, a nice place that used to be a baskin robbins. Service was decent as well - the high schoolers that worked there were friendly and helpful. Overall, an okay experience. They are the only ice cream/ boba shop on mercer island now so good if you live nearby, but there are other places with better value and boba in bellevue and seattle.

Black Tea w/ Mango

Hub Boba is the only spot on Mercer Island where you can get bubble tea, so that in itself is a win. I didn't even know about Hub Boba until I spotted it when I was walking to the bookstore nearby and realized Baskin Robbins is no longer as Hub Boba has moved into this space. But don't worry, they have ice cream here too. We visited Hub Boba on a Saturday afternoon and were the only patrons getting some boba. The menu had a good amount of different drinks, from milk and fruit teas, as well as Tillamook ice cream. The space is narrow, with a few tables and chairs. I ordered the black tea with mango, less ice and no sugar, and it was tasty! I enjoyed the mango and black tea combination and thought it was refreshing. I would order this again when I'm on Mercer Island. Staff were super friendly and they gave me a free vanilla ice cream cup for my dog! It's nice that Mercer Island has boba spot instead of the usual coffee shops around.

I am so happy that there's finally a boba place on the island!!! Service was very friendly and prompt. I ordered a 50% sweet lychee black tea with jelly. The tea but decent, but still very sweet to my liking. Since this is the only Boba place here, I will be back to try other milk or cream tea product.

This boba and sweet treat place is just what Mercer Island needed! Hub Boba offers lots of drink options including teas that you can customize with different flavor add-ins as well as different bobas and jellies. Service was amazing and really ensured the drink was exactly to my liking and even offered a sample for me to try so I could determine if I liked the sweetness level of my drink. Highly recommend this place and I will definitely be coming back!

Great place to hang out, specially for kids ! Boba drinks are good , they have different flavors and toppings to select . Also , they have board games to play !

Located in the Island Square complex, the easiest parking is in the attached garage where you can get two hours of free parking before a fee is charged. Street parking is also available occasionally. Ordering can either take place inside at their kiosk or through the SnackPass app. The interface is identical providing a ton of options from adjusting sugar levels to adjusting temperature. Toppings include boba, crystal boba, oats, tofu pudding, matcha crema, and more! They offer a variety of pure teas as well as milk and fruit teas. The options are very extensive. The shop is simplistic with few chairs and minimalistic decor. It is a functional space in terms of ordering and leaving but not necessarily hanging around, which tracks with the majority of all boba tea shops I've been to. I didn't really interact with the employees who toiled away in their enclosed set up, signs around providing instruction, as there really was no need. They took care of everything via the kiosk so beyond announcing a number their roles were focused on tea. It was a good experience and I will happily return.

Quite honestly, it was the first time I couldn't finished the drink. They were pretty busy when I went, so it's possible I didn't get the best version of the drink. Ordering is done through a single iPad in-store, which can slow things down if there's a line. I'd highly recommend ordering through the Fantuan app instead, they sometimes offer discounts, and it definitely made my pickup process much faster. One more tip: consider lowering the sugar level. I ordered 50%, and it was still very sweet for my taste. Quite honestly, it was the first time I couldn't finished the drink.

There is always a long line, so it seems to be quite popular. Today there was a buy one get one of a new drink, the golden oolong yuzu, so it was especially busy. I got the Triple Supreme Matcha Latte and ordered on the heytea app instead of waiting in the line to order. After placing my order, the app said there were 50 drinks ahead of mine in the queue, and about a 20 min wait. Staff were accommodating of my reusable cup and were, after some initial hesitation, able to serve my drink in my glass tumbler instead of the plastic cup. Thanks for supporting sustainability even while it was super busy today! The Triple Supreme Matcha Latte was really good, consisting of a strong matcha latte with matcha mochi and matcha jelly. The mochi is very soft and the jelly adds a nice texture to the drink.

LA Bean is a Vietnamese cafe in Factoria, selling teas, coffees and banh mis in a welcome setting. My mango drink was refreshing and delicious, with a ton of mango flavor. I could've easily ordered another one. I'd like to try the Vietnamese coffee with ube next time I visit for when I need more caffeine. There are a lot of different drinks to choose from here, so something for everyone here. Glad to have LA Bean in Factoria, which doesn't have too many boba spots around. Located in a small business strip, parking can be dicey with how small the lot is with the busy shops around, but it's nearby other businesses and walking distance to the Factoria shopping center. I'd come back.

I was afraid that the thai tea would be sweetened already and the soft serve would only overly sweeten it but if anything, letting the soft serve melt into the thai tea was what gave the drink it's sweetness (along with the marshmallow-like foam). It was so GOOD! I thoroughly enjoyed this drink, especially on those rare warm sunny days we get here in Western Washington. Dare I say that I dream about this float!
