Had a taro drink here before but don't remember the name of it. Love their taro drink!

Cute little boba shop in Renton. There is very minimal service and I ordered my drink on a kiosk. The drink came out quickly even with a larger party ahead of me. They also have online ordering which I appreciate. There are a few tables and wifi and it never got too full even on a Saturday. I got the citrus lord which is an oolong tea with fresh orange pulp. At 75% sweetness, it was really good and tea forward. Not too sweet, but also not too bland. I also really appreciate the fact that they list calorie information and that you can sub sparkling water if you want a caffeine-free option. It's a nice shop if you have dietary restrictions/preferences.

We dropped by Feng Cha since we were in the area shopping at Ikea. Feng Cha is one of those Mainland Chinese chains that I find to be quite consistent between locations, with all that I've visited serving well above average boba. This one is no different. Classic Milk Tea, Black Tea, 50% Sweet, Less Ice w/ Boba ($6.75) - The drink has a good amount of body, with a very pleasing flavor from the well balanced mix of creamer, black tea, and sugar. The creamer adds a pleasant softness to the tea and the drink at 50% sugar is not too sweet at all. It's just a solid milk tea overall. The boba texture is wonderful, pretty much the perfect texture, allowing the chewy bounciness to really take center stage. If you like a boba that's not too firm and not too soft, this is the texture to aim for. I just wish that they added more boba! By the time I was about 3/4 done with the drink. all of the boba was gone. Milk Tea Rating: 4/5 Boba Rating: 5/5 Iced Tea, Four Seasons Tea, 50% Sweet, Less Ice w/ Boba ($5.75) - Good flavor on the tea, a bit of astringency and a bit smoky from being brewed for a long time. Note: boba shops, by design, have to overbrew tea. This would not be acceptable at an actual tea shop, but is perfectly good for a boba shop. The sweetness level actually tastes less than that of the milk tea, but works perfectly well to allow the tea flavors to shine. It is pretty refreshing. When we visited, they were running a gift promotion. For purchasing a $25 gift card, we got a free random tea scented soy candle in a nice cloth bag, handmade by From the East Studio. They had a variety of flavors, including Brown Sugar Milk Tea, Vietnamese Coffee, Thai Tea, etc, all wrapped up in opaque cloth bags that made it a surprise which flavor we would get. We ended up with the Lychee Ice Tea! For a $15 purchase (pre tax and tip), we got a glass jar. I thought it would be emblazoned with the Feng Cha logo, but it was just a blank glass jar. Kind of boring. And then finally, for any purchase at all, we got a small random charm picked out from a box. I'm not in Renton very often, but this will be my go to boba shop whenever I'm in town. We came here on a Sunday afternoon for a quick bubble tea. It wasn't very busy when we arrived. Ordering at the machine was easy, and we enjoyed our drinks. The environment was spacious, and the staff was friendly. However, we had to wipe down our table a bit before picking up our drinks, as it was left slightly dirty by the previous customer. Parking was easy as there was a parking lot.

One of my favorite boba places. I love that you can swap out black tea for sparkling water if you want a non-caffeinated option. I come here quite often as there aren't many of these locations. We got the mango fantasy and the dirty caffe latte. The mango fantasy was yummy! The taste of mango is there and seems to be mixed with some coconut milk. The wait for the drinks was quick. The interior is spacious and clean. Very simple and modern look to it.

This place is great. You walk in and order at the kiosk. They give you options to add toppings to your drink and adjust the sweetness and ice level. You get a pretty big sized drink. Got the Thai tea with less ice and 50% sweetness level. I thought it would be watered down but it was perfect. They have a selfie board which is pictured. It's nice and clean inside. Good place for bubble tea cravings.

Visited after work during the weekday when it wasn't very busy. The place was cute and has seating but it was eerily quiet with no background music or anything. I think that is something that can be easily fixed but I didn't feel comfortable staying and chatting after getting our drinks. I got a classic black milk tea and it was pretty good at 50% sweetness. No complaints for it. The fruit teas seem pretty good so I'll definitely go back to check it out. Hoping they make it a little more lively in there in the future.

Feng Cha is a strong boba spot I was introduced to in Texas - my friends love it down there. While I was disappointed that they opened in Renton because it's far, we made a trip to try out their boba. Pretty solid and they have extremely tasty cakes! Price is slightly high given the location but worth for a treat. Drinks are creamy and boba is solid overall. Above average! I also find it sweet that they have calorie estimates, it's a nice touch. Sea Salt Pearl - overall, there could be more toppings. It's a fluffy cake with a nice crema layer on top. Nearly melt in your mouth while being packed with sweetness. Boba is mostly for texture and chew, but there's not really a lot to work with for a whole cake. Strawberry Princess - another fluffy delight balanced with a sweet and tangy flavor profile from the strawberry jam. The contrast really helps draw out flavors, though similar to the other cakes, I'd hope for more toppings or even have the strawberry cut. It's hard to share a single topping! Classic Green Milk Tea - light, refreshing tea but definitely more creamy. Balance of tea and milk is tipped in favor of the milk, but the tea is still present. It's just like any other green milk tea so you know exactly what you're getting. Purple Reign - go Huskies! Had to also try this with pride. As a yogurt drink, there's a slight tartness but it's smooth and balanced blended with milk. The grape flavor adds a nice touch of sweetness but also acidity. Lots going on with this drink but very flavorful. Taro Breeze - just a taro slush but blended extremely well. No crazy ice chunks which was appreciated. Taro flavor felt a bit light, however. Not necessarily watered down but a very muted flavor which seems more natural, but not positive if it's natural or due to a low quantity of powder.

I love this new addition to the Renton food scene! We went there in their opening day and loved the drinks that we got! Their service was top-notch so good job on training the new staff! We went back last week and got the Citrus Lord and the Mango Fantasy. Both drinks were yummy! They made it quickly and the server was very nice and friendly. This is now one of our go-to spots for fruit tea/bubble tea in the area and just in general. The space is cute and clean. When it's quiet and not as packed, it's a cool spot to hang out in and relax.

For my second visit here, I got a cookies and cream milk tea for myself and a taro milk tea for a friend. Very solid choice, and it even came with what felt like cheese foam on the top as well, which is more than my favorite! The sweetness and ice levels are customizable as usual.

Great ambiance, very spacious with plenty of seating! We stopped by on Saturday afternoon on a hot summer day! We promptly got our teas, the teas tasted authentic and you have the option to reduce sugar and ice in the tea.

    Aindra T.

If you're a "not too sweet, I want that tea flavor" milk tea person then you'll love it! The boba was also really soft, chewy, and slightly sweet. The tea flavor could be a bit stronger for me but it's definitely there and tastes delicious My friend got the citrus lord and that was really good too!

    Lychee oolong with taro foam
    Skye P.

The milk foam flavors are SICK! The taro one was so perfectly flavored and not overly salty, the texture was almost marshmallowy, and I loved the subtle color. Always a flex when they have the sippy lid/straw combo too! The tea itself was good. I got the lychee oolong, felt a bit light and would have liked it stronger, but I could taste both flavors enough to be good with it. It's an art - but on a Saturday they didn't have a lot of staff it seemed so it took quite a long time. Thankfully you can order at a kiosk screen yourself so you're not taking away their time either. The inside was light and clean looking, ~aesthetic~ or whateva. Real cute. Def would go back!

Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #105…read more I first visited a Tra Viet location in Vegas, not expecting it to be a small chain originating in Washington! On the drive up back from Portland recently, we decided to stop by the original location (and only stand-alone store left in Washington) in Renton, down near the Boeing factory. This boba shop is known for serving drinks in essentially soda cans, complete with pop top. It's a unique concept, but it also means that value is less than competitors since the drink size is much smaller. Still, the quality is pretty high, at least enough to get us to visit based on what we ordered at the Las Vegas location. We ordered two drinks on our visit: Classic Milk Tea w/ Boba ($7.25) - No adjustments are allowed in this drink. The drink has a surprisingly strong malty flavor that pairs with the creamer nicely, delivering a thick and enjoyable experience. I believe the drink is premixed, which is why sweetness adjustments aren't allowed. Unfortunately it is too sweet for my tastes, especially since the boba soak adds even more sugar to the mixture. The ice levels, even at 100%, isn't too much. They use crushed ice that's easier to melt. The boba is of the mini variety, soaked well in syrup. They are actually cooked perfectly for this particular variety - great consistent chew and bounce on each tiny little pearl. I normally prefer full sized boba, but this one is very nice. I think their recipe can only use the mini boba - with the normal size boba at this texture, I would probably call it too firm, but it's perfect for the mini. Milk Tea Rating: 4/5 Boba Rating: 5/5 Jasmine Milk Tea, Less Sweet w/ Boba ($7.25) - This milk tea is very perfume-like with plenty of jasmine flower flavor. With the less sweet option, it's around 50% sweet compared to other shops, which matches up with my tastes. Again, it has good body but no dairy flavor. Overall a solid drink. We actually drank this about 2 hours after the Classic Milk Tea and somehow the boba was exactly the same texture. Usually the pearls start hardening up, but this was still perfect! Milk Tea Rating: 5/5 Boba Rating: 5/5 Usually places like this which focus on gimmicks don't exactly serve the best drinks. Tra Viet seems to be an exception. I'd be happy to return any time I'm down in Renton! Bathrooms - I didn't see any in store, but I also didn't ask the bobarista for availability.

The rest are shared with nearby businesses like AT&T, and it was surprisingly packed for a Thursday afternoon. Luckily, we found one spot all the way in the back under AT&T, but I do wish there was more parking available or a larger lot. Getting there from the freeway is pretty easy though, you basically just make a quick right turn straight into TP Tea, but it can be easy to miss if you're not paying attention. I've been to this boba shop before in San Diego, so when I saw a location in Washington, I knew I had to bring my dad. I ordered the lychee fruit tea, and he got the mango tea with light ice and added boba. One downside is that this location doesn't allow substitutions like the San Diego one does, I usually swap lychee jelly for boba at no extra cost, but here they charge extra. The service wasn't the best. When we walked in, the staff didn't seem very welcoming and mostly just looked at us. There was only one self-order kiosk, and a couple was taking a while on it (which is totally fine), but the employees didn't step in to help take orders either. It felt a bit inconvenient since we were just waiting to see if anyone would help us, but eventually they did take our order. The drinks themselves were pretty good. My dad's mango tea ended up being more icy than expected even though we asked for light ice, I think it's because it's a blended drink, so the consistency was thinner rather than thicker. My lychee tea was really good though, I'd definitely recommend it. Even at 50% sweetness, it leaned on the sweeter side, but still very enjoyable. The ambiance is nice, the space is big with plenty of seating, and there's a steady flow of people coming in and out. Overall, it's still a solid spot to check out. Just be prepared for limited parking and slightly inconsistent service.

For this visit, I decided to get one of their signature smoothies: cuddles on the beach. It's a blend of strawberry, peach and mango, and comes with a bunch of peach bits. This whole drink was really sweet - there were options to change levels of sweetness that I did not see carefully that would have made my rink better. Probably if I had gotten it much less sweet - if that is possible for the cuddles on the beach - it would be much better. Peach bits were one of my favorite parts of the drink, as I could easily suck them through my straw like balls haha. I'd go as far as to say this drink went past the cuddles and went all the way... :P It was fun striking a conversation with my server up front when she asked me and friends about our day, and that made this visit a lot better. That's kinda the feel of this place especially when it gets late at night, because there's a lot of people that come inside and fill the tables. As for my group of six, we definitely contributed to the already loud noises of people talking and blenders blazing to make drinks. This place wouldn't really be my go-to for drinks in general, even though it does open much later than most other places serving boba, but they have a ton of interestingly named drinks that I'd try when I want a late-night boba call :PP
