The Seattle location is the best, but Renton is certainly worth stopping by. A myriad of food, gifts, bakery, and boba. All delicious!

I came to Uwajima after a long time. There were more cute goods than before. When I come here, I think of Japanese grocery stores. Personally, I buy a lot of things here. The shopkeeper is kind and will tell you if you have any questions. I come here if I need something for Japanese food...most of the things are here. Don't miss March, which is Children's Festival in Japan, and there are splendid hina dolls displayed near the cash register. I also like to see skincare, hair care, and merchandise made in Japan. If you come here, you will like not only food but also everyday items and gifts. I would like you to come to Uwajimaya and check it out.

The poke with fresh ginger - It looks good but no taste, pieces of ahi are not uniform.

Walked into Uwajimaya on a Saturday recently. The front of the store smelled wonderful from their deli area selling takeout foods. I love Uwajimaya - they're very clean, the staff are friendly. The produce section is AMAZING. I have a huge complaint on their seafood section. This is twice I've been here within a month and I'm disappointed with the styrofoam platters. I don't come here too often since I have to drive from Lakewood, it's not a quick trip. The presentation of the raw fish for sushi - the way they cut the saku blocks for the styrofoam plates, are not that attractive and I don't think they're cutting them properly. I bought 1 of the bluefin tuna, which was over $15. I sliced it for sashimi - it sliced into pathetic pieces because there were so many ligaments. What a waste of money. This 2nd time I visited, same thing with the styrofoam platters - ligaments running through the entire blocks OF TUNA. I passed this time. Looked at the poke display which had a wonderful sesame oil aroma which drew me towards the glass case. I chose the ahi and ginger poke. BAD CHOICE. I don't know if all of the other poke are just as bad. No flavor at all, first of all. None and watery. Why?? You can only smell sesame oil. I tried to fix it with some soy sauce, grated ginger, chili flakes, Hawaiian salt. After that, I gave up. The OGO - the seaweed was not even cut up. It was strands of seaweed. The tuna squares were all different sizes. DOES ANYONE CARE???? WHAT THE HELL, I paid $18 for this CRAP. YES I HAVE PHOTOS. IT IS STILL SITTING IN MY FRIDGE. I'm calling the store manager today to complain and tell them what a horrible job the seafood department is doing and they need a lesson on making poke, cutting fish, presentation... We are currently experiencing heavy rains, otherwise I would have driven back to return that poke. I don't care about the refund. These people need to know they're not doing their job properly and they need to be corrected. Disgrace to the Asian people and their foods.

Came here because I had spare time to kill waiting for something. Uwajimaya is super for their different selection. Pricey, yes. My shrimp noodle dish was about $7.49 and the drink was 4.50 for a large. I like that you can pick up all sorts of goodies here! Sushi, roast duck, groceries, all ready prepared meals! They got it all. Also they have ultra cute hello kitty and Japanese merch. Will have to take my toddler here one day!

I was very impressed with the store! There's a large selection of groceries and frozen goods from popular Asian brands. Not to mention, popular skincare and trinkets. But what stood out to me the most was the prepared food and bakery section!! So many options from a hot food bar, to sushi and drinks, to the cutest cakes you can order. We got packaged egg tarts from the bakery area, and they were so flaky and silky. Would definitely recommend putting them in the oven so they get extra crispy. Can't wait for the one in the Bay Area to open!

There is also a hot food bar where you pay by the pound and the food is excellent. You can even buy Peking duck ready to go. I even taken home several trays of sushi . I loved the yellow tail sashimi, the pieces were very generous. I don't get pieces that big in any sushi bars. The fact of the matter, I just can't seem to stay away from this place and that's saying a lot for a finicky customer like myself. The desserts are excellent, and the bakery items are amazing. Treat yourself to an amazing experience. They just opened up a new location in Lynnwood a couple of months ago.

TLDR: Best tacos in WA! If you want good food, make a trip here!…read more We've been coming to MI Mercado for about 4 years already. At the beginning we didn't know the name of this place, or why this grocery store served tacos. But all I know is - thank goodness my husband likes to try random food, because he discovered the best tacos in WA! Every single type of meat we've tried here has been mindblowingly good. Like, life changing. And I really don't say this often. I always thought pollo (chicken) tacos tend to be dryer/blander, but Armando's pollo is fantastic. But wait - the asada, pastor, carnitas, chorizo... Oh my gosh, everything has SO MUCH FLAVOUR and stays JUICY! Ok let me break it down for you: - smoked pork chop in a taco: we were like "what? it barely fits in the tortilla" but next second "oh man this is the best!" I think this is called chuleta? - carnitas: I've never had any other carnitas with so much texture and flavour. There's a mix of pork with skin? And soft gooey bits of pork? Yum, one of my favorites! - asada: it's always my safe option when unsure. This asada is just levels above all other competition in terms of flavour though. - pastor: this is only on Sat & Sun. The pastor is on a rotisserie thing. Also one of my faves! - everything else is amazing too. I'm getting tired of typing on my phone so I'll leave the rest for you to try FYI their meat selection each day varies I do want to point out that you might think the tacos are pricey (I think it's like $4 each). But the portions are really generous! At normal taco trucks, I'd eat 4 tacos for a meal. Here, I'd be full with 2 tacos, but then continue to eat 2 more because I always want to order every single kind of meat they have available that day, and end up way too full their quesadillas are gigantic too, check out my photos from this morning! Apart from Armando's tacos/quesadillas, we just found out today there's a lady in the store who serves El Salvadoran food. We're gonna come back and try her pupusas next time I've been hesitant to post about this place, because if they get too popular, we might have to wait :( but finally, after chatting with Armando today, I think it's better to spread the word and get them more business, because they truly deserve it! PS: We've never bumped into any other English-speaking customer lol, I think that shows how authentic they are. If you go, tell Armando that Ben&Monica sent you

Specifically to get some freshly baked Portugese egg tarts. Their frozen food section is decent and has what I need for hotpot dinners. The meat section is rather limited. All of the wonderful foods that are produced. But the products and spices necessary to produce these unique dishes are not found in your typical Western-based grocery store. And often times, these products must follow strict religious sanitary rules. There must be a grocer that can carry these sundries to make your dish what you remember from home. In comes the International Food Bazzar! Located on the northern Kent border in the industrial park area, this deceptively large grocery holds products from the Middle East, India, Pakistan, and a few others representing South Asia. The store is Halaal certified, and for those looking for that regional specific product from that region, it is most likely here. Going in, I was not prepared for excitement that I felt walking when I walked in to find the spices and curries I was looking for but could easily not find in a western North America based grocery store. Even the frozen food section was a treat: frozen Naan bread, frozen Saag Paneer to take for lunch, and brands of 25 pound bags of basmahti rice. Let's not forget the busy butchery section preparing several Halal cuts for the long line of customers, all awaiting their turn to put their personal request in. It's a great relationship that is forged. As someone who wants to eat as authentically as possible without the America-substituted analogs, I have found joy in this place that can make my dishes shine the way they were intended.
