I'll rave about CHICHA all day. Ever since their Bellevue location opened up in Washington, I've been more picky about tea (especially across boba spots and cafes) because no one does it quite like CHICHA. The tea is pricey and a smaller volume, but all their tea is rich and flavorful. I'm a fan of the Tukwila shop but dislike how far away it is because Tukwila is so south! The store is more akin to CHICHA across other states, in their own building rather than in a mall (even the old Bellevue location before they moved, felt lacking). Lovely service, the staff are extra friendly here. Osmanthus Oolong Tea w/ Boba - while I typically prefer milk in boba drinks, I'm starting to open up at CHICHA because their teas are wonderful and don't need the added creaminess from milk. Light, yet potent, aromatic, and smooth, this one is a favorite from my partner and I because it's refreshing and naturally sweetened with the osmanthus flowers. Honey Osmanthus Oolong Tea w/ Boba - for those of us with a sweet tooth, this is a favorable option to the original teas. Had to avoid saying "simple teas" because they're crafted and brewed masterfully. Adding honey is so simple, yet they integrate it well into the teas with their brewing methods. Refreshing while satisfying that sweet tooth.
They have a lot of drink options, I forgot which base tea I got- but their Sakura Konjac with honey milk and light sugar is SO GOOD. The layout and decor is beautiful as well. Staff is friendly, but does not call out names, which I actually like. You can guess which drink is yours and ask for help if needed.
We were pretty disappointed with our visit today. When we walked in, it was busy but not unusually crowded. Still, it took almost an hour (50+ minutes) to receive our drinks. What made it more frustrating was seeing all the people who arrived after us get their drinks WAY before we did. We ordered four drinks -- two of one kind and two of another. After about 45 minutes, we realized we were the only customers left from the group that arrived around the same time. To make things worse, three of our four drinks were made and left sitting out for at least 15 minutes while we waited on the last one. We eventually went up to ask, and were told they were still waiting on the final drink, but it still took another 20 minutes. By then, the ice had melted and the flavor was watered down. We were watching our order be skipped over and over and over again, and seeing the cup not be touched at all. The taro balls are always great, but the service and wait time this visit were really disappointing.
Went here with a friend after they said they really want to stop by. I like boba so I thought why not. I had never been to this boba shop before and my friend told me the one in Bellevue is really popular, so I came in with high expectations. I noticed how clean the inside looked, which is hard to do when the majority of the place is white. When we got to the register we were given a sample of a seasonal flavor. It was so good that I decided to get it! We both wanted boba, and were properly informed before the purchase that they had to make more which would take a little bit of time. I appreciated the warning ahead of time. The drinks were well made and were true to the sweetness level and ice level requested. The menu had quite a bit of options so I'm eager to return and try what else they have! A good boba spot all in all!
I was so excited they decided to expand and open a location in Tukwila! So close to my house. So dangerous. I love how it's near Southcenter mall, so it has ample amount of parking. During the cold season, this location luckily doesn't have much of a line as in the summer. I really like how you can taste the tea in the drinks you order and the toppings also are delightful as well always. The only thing I dislike about this chain is that you cannot customize your drinks; except for toppings, level of sweetness and ice level, nothing else can be changed. But other than that, drinks always tasted good here. Would recommend. Oh, but this place strictly only has tea, no smoothies! So if you're wanting to order similar to that, do not come here.
Service: 5/5 Attentive and friendly service! They gave us a sample of their daily drink which helped us make a decision (and allowed us to try a different tea). The time it takes to get your drink can take anywhere from 10-15 minutes depending how busy the store is. Each drink seems to be freshly brewed. Drink: 5/5 Flavors are amazing! I got the high mountain orange drink and it's so refreshing! Perfect balance of sweet and the boba has great texture! Highly recommend this one if you're not a milk tea person. If you are a milk tea person, try the dong ding milk tea, it's delicious too!
Walking around in trying to find a new place to quench my thirst and stumbled upon a new gem today! The new discovery had an inviting atmosphere and great ambiance and relaxing music. The passion fruit green tea with light sugar, light ice, and grass jelly was what I ordered. It was pretty good and refreshing, I really enjoyed the drink. Will probably come back to try a different drink.
Me & my friend got the Green Tea + Cream & Cassia Black Tea with Mousse, both with boba. They both were really great milk teas. I'm gonna be honest, I'm not typically a fan of the tapioca (boba) toppings but they tasted delicious. Nice & chewy. Whats also nice is you can sample the different kinds of teas during certain times. I'd say that they take really good focus on their quality of tea.
Situated near Southcenter mall, this second location of the popular tea shop is an excellent stop for high quality and delicious tea. Upon entering the store, the friendly staff immediately greet you and may even offer a sample drink to try. My wife and I tried their peach green tea sample which we eventually ordered. We highly recommend it as it is very refreshing! Unfortunately some of their drinks are unable to adjust sugar and ice levels but don't be afraid to ask anyways. They are usually always busy in the afternoons and evenings so expect to wait a bit, but don't worry, they are making the drinks right in front of you. You can watch how hard they are quickly and efficiently working to complete your order! Regardless how long the wait is, there are seats and tables available to wait for or to spill tea while enjoying tea with friends. There are also cool decorations along the walls for a great photo op before you leave. This place is a MUST visit for everyone, especially tea lovers!
9/2025- stopped by here after a very full dinner but always room for a boba tea! This is a Taiwanese establishment that focuses on the Lishan Oolong tea which comes from the mountains at 2000-2200 altitude. They have an area where they do tea tastings which would be a fun group activity. I got the Taro milk tea and the volcano boba tea. All of it was yummy. This place did have a long line. Service was good as well. I like the drink carriers for each drink.
Just as fresh and solid as the location in Bellevue, and a little more accessible for those who live in Seattle! I went here with family on a Wednesday noon after lunch to grab some drinks to satiate my after-meal fix. Going inside, you can immediately smell the strong aroma of tea. One big difference is that it's a lot more spacious and has more seating than its Bellevue counterpart, and there's even a section where you can taste some tea! Though I didn't go for that experience, i still had a great drink that speaks to how sleek and matte it feels inside. Since this is still a relatively new location, I waited in quite a long line where it took me about 20 minutes to finally be able to order, and ~10 more minutes to get my drink. My mom and I did get a sample of one of their drinks while we were close to the front of the line. I got their high mountain pouchong tea with mango, and while I didn't get any toppings to go with it, this drink doesn't really need that. It's already very sweet even when having it with "light" (or less) sugar and less ice. You can taste the tea almost immediately, and I usually see that as the tea being the center of attention in the cup and not the other added flavors (like the mango in this case). Quality of their tea is relatively high as expected from them.

This is my favorite place to get milk tea. Always greeted with a friendly welcome whenever we come in, and the staff is so kind. They even greet customers with samples of their fruit tea, which is such a nice touch. I love that they brew each drink fresh to order using real tea leaves -- you can really taste the difference. My favorite drinks are from their taro series, especially because you can order a drink with either taro balls or taro paste. The shop itself is very clean and aesthetically pleasing, with plenty of seating. I've even come here to work on school assignments since they have Wi-Fi available. I also appreciate being able to adjust the sweetness and ice levels to my preference. It's definitely on the pricier side, but it's worth it for the quality read more
Chicha San Chen never disappoints! I'm so glad there's a tukwila location. The service was great from start to finish, and you can really tell they take pride in the quality of their tea. The boba was perfectly cooked soft, chewy, and fresh and the drinks themselves were super smooth and flavorful. Everything tastes really intentional, not overly sweet, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. There can be a bit of a wait, but it's honestly worth it every time. The inside is minimalistic and so cute. Definitely a go-to spot when I'm craving good boba. I'll for sure be back! read more
We have visited the Bellevue location many times, and were excited to try the Tukwila location. We were greeted at the counter with a tiny complimentary tasting of one of the drinks. After much deliberation, we went with a fruit tea (osmanthus mango + coconut jelly, light ice) and a tea latte (honey dong ding oolong tea + bubbles, hot). Both were very nice. One cool, fruity and refreshing. The other warm, comforting and smooth. The interior is spacious, but has limited seating. It was empty when we came in the early afternoon on a Tuesday. We would love to stop by again! Love how patient and efficient the staff were. And the interior design is very nice. read more
First time trying Chicha and I absolutely loved it! The tea was amazing- honestly couldn't have asked for better flavors. The boba was also perfect: soft, chewy, and just the right texture. This might officially be my new go-to boba chain! read more

I'm excited to finally have a nice bubble tea spot close to me! For being a chain, they always seem to nail consistent high quality drinks, service, and ambiance. This location is very spacious and has plenty of parking. Came on a Wednesday afternoon and there was no line. We had the cassia black tea with mousse, and pouchang tea with mango and mousse. Both were great and didn't require any sweetness adjustments. read more
AT LAST, Chicha San Chen has arrived in Tukwila!!! I've loved this franchise ever since trying it in Vancouver. I haven't gone to the Bellevue location more than a couple times because the parking spaces are small and very limited, and Bellevue has a tiny location that gets so cramped with how busy they get. I am so pleased that Tukwila doesn't have any of these issues! It's located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking, and the store is HUGE! They did a great job with the interior to create a spacious and modern feel that makes you forget that you're in Tukwila. I've visited the Tukwila location twice on a weekday evening, and was lucky that there was no line both times. Their tea quality is amazing as expected. I especially love their taro balls, which are so satisfyingly chewy and bouncy. I did notice that they are not as bouncy if you are slowly sipping your drink (like over an hour), but it's not an issue if you are consuming it right away. Apparently, their "perfect" sugar level is 70% sweetness. I've opted for light sugar both times, but find this level to still be too sweet. For reference, I usually order my tea drinks with 25% sweetness. read more
Expect to wait for at least 20-30 minutes after you order since every cup is freshly brewed. I visited this new location on grand opening day. Inside is clean and spacious. There is a nice waiting area with tables and chairs, but there was no AC so it was pretty stuffy with everyone waiting inside. I rate the boba 4/5 - $1 as a topping, good texture and sweetness, but doesn't have much of a brown sugar taste. As for drinks, I prefer the fresh tea, my go-to for a hot day is Osmanthus Oolong with Honey. The seasonal mango version is good according to my friend. Lemon Tart is refreshing and not too tart. I'm not a fan of their milk tea I've tried (King milk tea or Dong Ding Oolong with cream). read more
When the Bellevue location first opened, I saw posts about how long the lines were so I was discouraged to visit that location. Also, it's in Bellevue so we didn't really want to drive to Bellevue only to wait a while. Then we were travelling in Sydney last year and was able to check out one of the locations there. Luckily, the wait there was non/existent! We loved the drinks we got so we realized waiting would be worth it if we checked out the Bellevue location. AND THEN this location opened! We went the week after they opened during the week and the line wasn't bad at all. We got our order probably within 15-20 minutes. The second time we went there, the wait was about the same. I'd love to try everything on yheit menu but I really love their Osmanthus Oolong tea with mango and the one with Honey! The mango version is slightly sweeter but not too sweet to make you feel like it's a dessert. The one with honey is so refreshing and just has a hint of sweetness! I also love seeing the staff make the tea in front of everyone. It makes the wait so worth it! Will I be back? Of course!!!! read more
Chicha San Chen is one of my favorite places for high quality tea. This is my first time at the Tukwila location. It's much less busy than the Bellevue location and more spacious. I was even able to snag a seat. I got a sample of their Osmanthus oolong with orange and got the full size just less sweet. It's very refreshing and is prefect if you like a bit of citrus. My go to is the ding dong oolong tea latte or something from their taro series. They also do samples at another counter. read more
Came here around 7pm and it was just moderately slow-busy. Today there's sample of the day is Black tea + cream again and I had it in my last visit so I decided to get my usual DongDing Oolong tea + boba. I don't know if my palates has changed, but their dongding oolong tea quality has gone down the hill. It's getting more and more diluted in taste even though I asked for full sweetness didnt modify anything. Added some boba toppings (+1) and while it's pretty chewy and tasty, but I can definitely taste the honey in their boba and the syrup it's gently poached in. read more
This is a high-end tea/boba spot. I came on a weekday afternoon and it was pretty busy, so be prepared to wait a bit. They use quality tea leaves and brew everything using a fancy espresso-like machine, which is cool to watch. The staff is super friendly--they offer tea samples and even let you smell the tea leaves to help you decide. When I review tea/boba places, I focus on the tea and the boba itself. The tea here is absolutely delicious--smooth, no bitterness at all. And the boba? Perfectly chewy, and it stays that way through the whole drink. Overall, I really like this place! It's definitely on the pricier side, but the quality makes it worth it. This location is way more spacious than the one in Bellevue, and parking is a lot easier too. read more

10/10!!!!!!! I'm visiting from San Diego, CA which has a bunch of boba spots and I am 100% honest when I say this beats ALL the shops in SD. The tea tastes incredibly fresh and clean. The tapioca is soft and the service is impeccable. The staff is friendly and so fast! They don't make mistakes and even if they were slow, I'D STILL COME BACK EVERY TIME! Worth every penny. So far I've tried the Bubble Volcano and the Iced Green Tea + Passion Fruit, both with boba. I'm obsessed with their drinks. Down to the cup holders! You don't see anything like that in SD! So unique! The inside of the shop is also so clean and the aesthetic is giving outdoor when you're actually indoor, HOW CRAZY!!!! I love this place. I hope someday they can expand to San Diego. read more

My favorite Boba spot in Washington state. The tea is immaculate, the toppings especially the taro balls are amazing. Great service and lots of options to pick from. I had to recommend 25 per sweetness max for any drinks. I highly recommend it would come back. read more
Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #74 I didn't expect to see a Chicha San Chen open down in Tukwila! As soon as I heard about it, I of course had to head down - too bad I missed the grand opening! This locations seems every bit as popular as the one in Bellevue. I visited on a Friday at 2PM, and there was a steady number of customers entering and lining up. The line took around 10 minutes, then the drink took about 20 minutes to arrive. Taro Bubble Milk Tea, Perfect Sweet, Light Ice ($8.25) - This looks like a new menu item, which is just the black tea + cream + boba + taro paste. The composition of the drink is stellar as ever, with the fragrance of a really nice black tea combined into a creamy and sweet drink. The sweetness is at a very good level at half, and the ice almost all melts away to cool the drink down and leave only a few chunks left. The taro paste isn't too sweet either, is mashed until nice and paste-like, but leaving some slightly larger and tender chunks. Great taro flavor. The boba served here I think is superior to other Chicha San Chen locations I've visited. As with the others, they are on the larger side, aren't too far sweetened in syrup, and exhibit a velvety layer on the outside. Most other locations have the boba being a bit too much on the firm side, but these I found to be almost perfectly chewy and bouncy. Milk Tea Rating: 5/5 Boba Rating: 5/5 Unlike Bellevue, this location is large enough to have tea tastings. They weren't being held when I was in the store and unfortunately the cashier didn't know when they would resume. The tea tastings are always a treat to experience, so I would definitely come back just for that. For some reason I've only experience the cult-like "吃茶三千你好" chant in the Washington locations. What's up with that? As with the other Seattle-area location, wow is Chicha San Chen expensive - $10 after tax and tip for a small drink. The quality is there and it still remains my favorite boba in the area, but it's definitely a once in a while type of place rather than a frequent visit just purely due to the price. Open couple weeks ago, we just had to try this place. You immediately are greeted and entered the boba aroma once you enter the store. Wifey had the bubble tea and I had the volcano drink. Drinks are a little pricey but boba was made fresh. This location used to be an old Starbucks that was converted to Chicha San Chen. Staff were friendly and helpful. We will come back to try the fruit tea menu. Overall great experience! read more
Nice spacious place compared to their Bellevue location. Line went quickly but had a little wait for the drink since each one is brewed to order. The premium tea flavor really comes through and offer many different topping options. I really enjoy their High Mountain Pouchong Tea as it's so refreshing. Wished they had larger size options and during their grand opening they giving out stickers. read more
My mom and I went to try this place out since I heard they are Michelin star rated. I got the taro ball tea latte. Comes with taro balls. I didn't make any adjustments to the sweetness or ice levels. It tasted perfect. I wish they gave out samples of all their teas so I know what to expect ordering the other tea drinks. The wait is kind of long as they make each drink precise. The prices are a bit steep for the size of the drink. There's only one size cup. read more
We made the grand opening today. They are pretty efficient with taking orders. The tea is top quality and you can taste the difference. There's plenty of seating while waiting for your drinks after ordering. Do prepare yourself extra time since they make their orders fresh so it does take longer than your standard boba places. 5 stars and we will be back again for sure! read more

Chicha San Chen in Bellevue vs. Chicha San Chen in Tukwila. Insert Kombucha Girl meme :) That's right, I had no interest in visiting their Eastside location, but I was pleasantly surprised they decided to expand to Southcenter. It's pretty convenient since it's near the I-5/I-405/SR 518 interchange and only 10 minutes away from Sea-Tac Airport. They took over a former Starbucks location next to Old Navy. Parking is abundant and free. If it's raining and the line extends outside you'll be ok since you'll be covered under the portico. They offer free samples of tea before ordering. Costco vibes! The cup was small so I drank it like a shot. High quality top shelf tea right there. I appreciated the kind gesture. They'll call out order numbers once beverages are ready. Turnaround time was sufficient considering the amount of staff on hand and the number of customers in queue. They'll ask to see your receipt for order verification. It's a good quality control check. Customer service and professionalism was on point. It was nice speaking to a human rather than using a kiosk. The baristas were welcoming and well trained. They played relaxing music and the furniture was clean. I ordered the Osmanthus Oolong Tea with Mango. It was pretty good and refreshing. We didn't stick around for the tea tasting experience. It was too loud and there were too many people around. You should go during the week if you want to try this. I got into a debate/discussion with my fam about the cup sleeve holder. I could do without the twine, the sticker, and the cup sleeve but they put it on as default. I think it's a waste of resources. They're not considering the downstream effects of the PNW ecosystem. I've gone here before on a weekend and the wait was veryyyy long. They take their time in crafting the teas. This time I went on a weekday and I was the only one in line for my order - I waited nearly 20 minutes. They were waiting for my taro balls to finish as I saw them bring it out and place remaining in there. I wish they communicated with me that they were waiting for the taro balls to finish cooking. As my partners drink was just sitting on the counter to wait for mine. I wouldn't have minded the wait but it would've been nice to communicate that or even make my partners drink nearly to when mine finished. But 20min wait for a drink is steep of a wait especially when I was the only person that ordered. But they did apologize for the wait, I got the reasoning because I was observing. Besides the wait -- the tea here is quality. That's why I would be willing to wait but more communication from staff would've been great. It's very fragrant, floral and perfectly balanced of sweetness. I really enjoy the taro balls here and to see that they really value the quantity to be placed in the drinks goes to show the quality each drink is being made with. read more
