Be very careful when you buy from them. I ordered a whole duck and when I came home, I only had a couples of duck breast and the rest are all bones. I can understand that duck don't get too much meat but this is just too little. I once saw a guy who was chopping will take a couple of pieces and sneak it into his station bucket. I only come in for their Roast Pork and Roast Duck. Overall, I don't like any of the men working behind the window where the roast pork and duck. Every time I came in for the center cut of the roast pork, I couldn't have the center cut which the Cantonese called 豬腩. The guys always push one to pick whatever leftover and you still pay the same price for a lesser meat cut. Finally, yesterday, when I was at the cash register and complain to the cashier named T, she is NICE. I told her that every time o came in to buy roast pork, I am paying the price of a guy I don't want when they have full roast pig in the kitchen. Finally, she talked to the men and they finally agreed to bring in a full rack of roast pork. T advises me to order through phone 30 minutes if I want the center cut. TQVMI T for being helpful! Roast pork and roast duck are great but I tasted better one! I am not used to roast duck having soggy skins. The flesh of roast duck is juicy but I Exocet my roast rock to taste the Hong Kong style flavor! So, if you are looking for a crisper roast duck with Hong Kong flavor, this is not the place to get it. Due to T, I would come again to this place! Hao Vi BBQ is basically a meat shop, not a restaurant. Guess that's why they have so many reviews.... Although they do sell vermicelli, there's no tables where you can sit down and enjoy your delicious items. The wait can be a little long for them to chop the meats for you, but I'd say it's worth it. I had a little over half a pound of roast pork, which came out to a little under $5. It's pretty solid, and the skin has a nice crunch. I'm not sure I prefer their skin to the crunchy skin of the roast pork at a certain place in Las Vegas that I've grown to love. The Sin City location also happens to be a restaurant and chops up the pork in relatively even, bite-sized portions, unlike the larger chunks that Hao Vi yields. I also tried a bit of roast duck, and it's pretty good too. Again, comparable to my favorite place, but maybe on par at best. Runs about $17 for a whole roast duck, FYI. I prefer the suong xia xiu (char siu pork ribs) over the xia xiu (pork tenderloin) cuz it's more moist and tender. The thit heo quay (roasted pork) was good too. I usually get my salted chicken here & it's always on point every time I go. The line gets super super busy during peak hours which is usually lunch and before dinner. Towards the end of the day, they're usually always out of pork bbq and some holidays you should always call ahead of time if you want to make sure they have some left for you. On a whim I walked in and pretty soon we were chatting it up like we were long lost third cousins separated by a typhoon when our canoes drifted in counterclockwise directions across the equator. Why am I trying to distract you? Well frankly the food I got was very mediocre. I grabbed some chicken feet which were a bit sour. Are they suppose to be sour? They were mehhh. I also grabbed a bao because I can't say no to bao. The filling the the bao was delicious but my complaint is too little filling. So sad. I love this place. This gonna be one of my new place to get duck bbq for the fam. My usually place to go is Duong Son or Lien Hoa. However, over time the taste of both place has been disappointed me very bad. So this is been awhile for me to get the duck bbq dish. And thanks to yelp for spotting this place for me. I love how they put the sauce all togother with the duck. The meat itself was good and tasty. Not too salty like the other place. And the price i think it is decent for the whole duck with $18. Ordered a medium roasted whole pig for my engagement party a month ahead of time. Stepping into the store, i am blown away by how clean it was compared to other places like Lien Hua. There was air conditioning (unheard of for a vietnamese shop), the shop was clean, and the workers are polite. Prices displayed are non-negotiable but they offer extra services for free like cutting the pig and making it presentable. Service: we wanted an 8am pickup but there wasnt anyone coming in to cut the pig; so, the pickup was scheduled for 9am on a saturday and it was ready at that exact time. The pig was cut well where the shape of the pig is entirely preserved. There were some nice finishing touches like the flower. Score: 9/10 Pig quality: the skin is cooked perfectly, it's light and flakey. the meat is juicy all the way through. Every piece is perfection. The entire medium pig was consumed over the span of 2 hours and 50 guests. Score: 10/10 I have recommended this shop to many and all have left satisfied. If you're not Vietnamese be ready to get the oldest funky duck there. I ordered a whole roasted duck and it tasted like rotten ass, the meat was soo dark it did not look normal at all so I ended up throwing it in the trash where it belongs and if that wasn't bad enough I had the worst costumer service experience there! Have been trying Roast Ducks all over Orange County. It is one of the most delicious dishes I love. This place by far makes the most delicious Roast Duck comparing with other places. Also it's priced right. When the Duck is sliced open the juice inside flows out on the pan. Then the Duck is cut in this extremely delicious sauce. The food here isn't all that great, some of it is dry but it has always been close to home. But my goodness, today I received the rudest experience that I've ever experience! I cannot believe the audacity of these people! I really think that the girl was even meaner to me because I was speaking in Vietnamese with her. Based on my multiple visits in the past. This place is just... Wow, it never ceases to amaze me! FYI, this is my go-to place for Peking Duck. So I would usually go to the pho restaurant with my family (right next door to Hao Vi BBQ) for breakfast, and would always see this place but never bothered to stop by. One day, I was craving Peking Duck and asked my mom for suggestions on where I should go to pick some up, and she recommended that I go to this place to try it out on behalf of our family, and so I did. Whenever it comes to Peking Duck, I'm used to being given a plate of the skin + meat still intact and boneless, + a separate plate with the remainder of the bones and meat, along with some dumplings, green onions, and hoisin sauce (to make a banh bao sandwich). What I was given however was to my amazement: the whole duck just chopped up and given as is with their in-house-made sauce (sweet & sour?). So I began to question myself: "Is this really Peking Duck? I hope they didn't mess up my order...". I was wrong to have questioned myself and doubted Hao Vi BBQ. They introduced me to a form/style of Peking Duck that I was not used to, and something that would make me come back to them again and again, time after time, for Peking Duck. The skin is was extremely juicy and had just the right amount of crispness to it, the meat was succulent and very tender, and overall the entire meal was just full of immense flavor. With their style of Peking Duck, you don't need to make a banh bao sandwich with hoisin sauce and green onions, you can eat the duck by itself and its still amazing. The price just cannot be beat: ~20$ for a whopping whole Peking Duck! The pricing, along with their style of Peking Duck just makes each and every visit to Hao Vi BBQ memorable, and it's also why I keep coming back for more! read more

I always crave crispy pig and roast duck. They make it especially good here for a reasonable price. The customer service I have received over the years by both me and my parents have always been great. The owners are incredibly nice to us as well as the coworkers everytime we walk in, so I'm not sure why there are customer service issues. I recommend the roast duck, sooo good and juicy! My first and last time here. The place looks dirty and disorganized. I ordered two and half lbs of BBQ pork. They charged me $6.99 per lb. (which is more than what is priced on the wall)...so the label on the box reads $17.54 and the lady charged me $19.07. I didn't realized the discrepancy until I got home. However the other secret is declare what you want ahead of time and put down a small deposit. parking is horrible here...cheap place to pick up duck, chicken, pork... they can even make your turkey for you during thanksgiving..just drop it off they they can make it to your liking or a certain flavor for $20 or so.. you can get awhole duck for $17 and whole pigs start around $150 and its very good and cripsy! read more

I've tried many roasted duck establishments around OC and San Gabriel and this place is by far the best. The ducks are juicy and full of flavors. Some other places makes them too dry or salty but Hoa Vi is just perfect. They also offer vit bac kinh that a lot of people like but I still prefer the regular roasted duck. Totally beats Lien Hoa BBQ by miles! Plumpest duck and crunchiest pork skin I've ever had on Christmas day! The line was out to the door but went fast and well worth it. We bought 1 whole duck and 3lbs of pork and it came out to ~$50 something. Usually at Lien Hoa, the duck ends up being mainly bones and very few breast pieces, but here they give you chunky pieces of meat and it's drenched in the tastiest greasiness they call sauce! The crispy pork skin is to die for and paired perfectly with the Banh Hoi. Would definitely recommend coming here for your peking duck and roasted bbq meats! read more
