Came here with all brown skinned customers today and we waited an hour for food, were ignored by the staff, and this woman who apparently is the owner sat at the table with a male customer when 20 minutes ago we asked for our drinks-just our drinks. She stopped serving /helping us to sit at the table with another customer. Extremely rude service. This man and other customers arrived after us and were served before us. I have always loved the Hanger cafe since I discovered it years ago when it first opened and I worked down in Georgetown. They have the most delicious crepes, and I would always love bringing friends here till I moved to north seattle. Today I feel I will never return, one of our first outings with our 9 month old. First, we walked in, and no one was at the desk, so we peeped into the back, then came back, to the front, the waitress seemed very upset with us for looking out the back. As if we were trying to skip the line. Gave us some attitude as we put our name in, I responded pleasantly and thanked her for getting us booked in, she then let us know we had a 20 min wait for table, which was great. I made sure I asked for an outside table, when we put our name in. Waiting 30-ish mins, for our name to be called, then the owner? Manager? Calls my name, oh, this is an inside table only, You need to wait another 10 mins for the outside table. So about 50mins to get seated with a 9 month old baby, others who came after us got sat outside before us. We ordered our crepes, and pitcher of Mimosas, thank god for good mimosas, as it took an hour for our crepes to arrive, I fed the baby, etc. then had to take the baby outside for a walk after about 50mins of sitting, when the crepes arrived, we put in our order for desert crepes (to go as baby was getting antsy and we knew it would take a while based on the timing of the first crepes). Ate the delicious crepes, And waited, and waited, We paid the bill(with a good tip). Checked in again on status of dessert crepes, with waitress, we were told, the crepes were coming soon, so I sent my partner with the kid, to the car(this is close to 50mins after ordering the dessert crepes). Ten minutes later, I get told the crepes are almost ready, so I decide to wait at front desk, as it is by the kitchen. I wait 5 mins waitress(manager? ) sees me there, says they are almost there, I see that they had not even started making them, probably more than 50mins after ordering the crepes, and at least 20mins of being told they were coming next. I had a text from my partner that the baby was crying in the car, so told them not to bother, as they hadn't even started making the crepes yet. The manager offered to refund, but it was not my credit card, and I wasn't going to run out to find the car. She gave me two gift cards for the exact things we ordered. So great, I now get to come back, to get what we paid for. Doubt that we are going to bother coming back ever again, miss the old hanger cafe I used to come and get good service at. Hangar Cafe is by far one of our favorite breakfast/ brunch places in the States! When we flew in to Seattle a few months ago, we stumbled onto the listing of this gem when on the lookout for a neat spot to stuff ourselves with yummy food before a long drive to Leavenworth. So, we soon landed in the charming neighborhood of Georgetown, parked our car alongside the curb a few hundred feet away by some cherry blossoms, and then stayed put at Hangar Cafe for a sumptuous brunch. The cafe entrance has a sign that reads: "Ally of All Races All Religions All Countries of origin All Sexual Orientations All Genders We stand with you You are safe and welcome in this cafe." So, naturally, we fell in love with the place even before setting foot in the cafe! Despite it being a busy Saturday morning, we were promptly greeted by the cheerful and friendly Staci, and we found ourselves seated at a table indoors soon enough. They have outdoor seating as well, but we preferred the indoor seating for all that it had to offer - the welcoming warmth, the aroma of delicacies being prepared coupled with pleasant music and the busy buzz of a weekend morning, and a pretty, colorful ambience. Given the list of many interesting offerings on the menu, it was hard to make up our minds as to what to order! Thankfully Staci came to our rescue, and we ended up gorging on lip-smacking food and hot drinks. Speaking of the hot drinks, the Irish Cream Latte was refreshing (Staci was kind to serve it in my To Go mug), and the Herbal Tea - loved the way it was served and we enjoyed the steeping process - was yummilicious and perfect for the missus' sore throat. The savory Hangar Crepe and Turkey Pesto Crepe are highly recommended, and the sweet Apple Brie Crepe is nice. But the highlight for us was the Nutella Coconut Waffle with whipped cream - it was delish and hands down one of the best waffles we've ever had! Given the ongoing lockdown because of the COVID-19 pandemic, they might be offering To Go meals only (please call and confirm), which means that you'll still get to enjoy the food (yay!) even if you miss out on the top-notch service. So, if you find yourself in or around Georgetown, then make sure to make a quick landing and pickup at Hangar Cafe before taking off! read more

Cozy breakfast / brunch cafe located right next to Boeing Field (Georgetown). The cafe is fairly small so if you have a group that's larger than 4 - I would recommend showing up right when the doors open (8am on Saturday and Sunday). The food is amazing! I love their savory crepes - especially the Hangar (egg, Black Forest ham, onions, tomatoes, spinach and topped with an amazing poblano and creme sauce). Their waffles are excellent as well. My wife and I shared the lemon panna cotta waffles this morning. This spot is definitely unique and now one of my favorite breakfast / brunch spots in Seattle. I hadn't been to the hanger cafe in a while - a couple of years. I was sad to see it had changed and a lot of the little bits that gave it character are gone. The wooden tables and benches inside are gone and replaced with a more uniform look. The small paper menus are replaced with laminated plastic sheets. I don't know why these changes were made, but it really takes away from the charm of the place. Oh yah and the secret aardvark hot sauce is gone. The replacement was okay, but I really liked secret aardvark. The food is always good, and the service was fine; there was a very long wait, but it didn't seem avoidable. read more

Not biggest place and I can see parking being a little tricky but a nice stop to have good food while you wait out traffic. Was hungry so order the crepe and waffle. Outside of savory crepes and waffles there are sandwiches and sweet crepes too. The crepe had a nice crunch to it and the filling was pretty good. The roast beef was what you get on a deli sandwich so nothing special but can't expect much more than that from a place like this. They also have some good coffee options. There are seasonal flavors so you could try those throughout the year. Fun to check out and if you like pumpkin there were many pumpkin options for food and drink. read more

This place is a hidden gem in our mind. We were starving after a 6a flight from Los Angeles and needed something to satisfy our hunger as well as appease our picky child(ren). The menu focuses on Waffles, Crepes (savory and Sweet) and paninis. We felt the food was great! I expected a tiny crepe but was pleasantly surprised when my entire plate was covered with delicious crepey goodness. Our kids loved their Belgian waffles. My hubby and I got savory crepes: He got the Hanger which was filled with a little bit of everything. I got the Turkey Pesto and it was so good. While the food was fantastic and the service was impeccable, the price was a bit elevated for the food that was being served. However, they were also near the downtown area of Seattle so it's to be expected. Parking is the only draw back - it's literally is non-existent. I rated a little higher because I am expecting this place to get better and better. I have the pleasure of meeting the owner and learning about her background and although she says she does not cook she does have a strong good vision and I'm expecting this place to grow and get better so I'll visit again soon. Crepes is what brought me here although I did not order a crepe lol I took french in junior high and had an introduction to crepes during that time, but I ordered Belgian waffles topped with strawberries and fresh whipped cream with a side of bacon, as you can see in the picture the bacon is slightly burnt but I still ate it so to me it was edible but keep in mind limited cooking devices and as stated before I am expecting growth from this cute little spot in Georgetown it is on a one-way street so be mindful of that when you're finding parking but it looks like you're going to someone's home it's a cute little house with a nice lovely seating area in the back that can be lit up at night with lovely plants around and it's actually got a lot more seating than it looks. My guest ordered a frittata with a side of red potatoes, he's a hard critic because he is a professional chef but fair he did eat the frittata but taste overdone and more like a quiche, a frittata is like an open face omelette, and there was no crust and could have used more seasoning to my guest. Simple and good. The proprietor is a nice lady and she is engaging. The quality of the food is solid whether you stay in or do take out. The frittata is a fave and they use good quality bacon. I've been here a couple times, but this last visit was the one I'm leaving a review for. In the past the crepes were delicious, served hot and within a reasonable amount of time. My last visit, not the case. I'm not sure if they're short-staffed on servers and kitchen staff, but waiting an hour for crepes isn't my forte. We were seated relatively quickly and the waitress did get us drinks at a decent rate. But that was all we saw her for quite awhile. Looking around it didn't seem like many people had food...and it was being noticed. Coffee wasn't refilled until I asked. We waited at LEAST 45 minutes for our food. And when it came, it was sloppy and cold on the inside. My cousin had the market crepe and I had the roast beef. The creme fraiche was squirt on sloppily and not nearly enough, while the giant scoop of horseradish burnt my nose hairs. HAHA. And it was like they were running out of potatoes because I think we each received like 10 little pieces (cold), not even a full portion. Super disappointing after having to wait that long. Service is typically friendly and the patio is super cute. Saving grace for this visit...but I'm not sure I'll be back. read more

Toni (who apparently is the owner) was our server ... not super friendly, or welcoming and I was pretty meh about it until I heard her telling one of the other guests that their partner had come in and complained to her, telling him she "didn't hold it against him" ... and then as I was inside using the restroom, she was again talking to the same guest about the exchange she had. Now I'm not going to say I know what the whole conversation was about, whether this person was a regular or not, for whatever reason she was comfortable enough to talk with him like this ... However, just a thought as a customer to owner - how do you think your other customers feel hearing you talk negatively about a customer while they are still in your establishment? Tight spaced interior, think claustrophobia. Had the banana nut waffle for breakfast as well as the roast beef sandwich. Preferred the waffle over the sandwich. Waffle tasted great with fruit toppings. The sandwich meat was juicy and tender however the overpowering horseradish killed it. I love horseradish and spicy food but the amount made my eyes water as parts of the meat had a potent, sinus killing pinch while other parts were fine with just enough. If I had to do it again, I would ask for sauce on the side so that I could spread or dip as needed. They serve breakfast and the lunch items all day. If I return, crepes are inevitable but not the ones filled with meat as they're too heavy for my taste. read more
