The Hangar Cafe is a cozy spot inside a tiny vintage house in Georgetown, right off a chain link fence within a block of the King County Airport (aka Boeing Field) and within view of the hangars and runway. Here on a sunny day, you'll find an outdoor seating area with about ten tables, and inside the vintage house, about nine tables and a tiny kitchen consisting mainly of four crepe machines, waffle makers, a La Marzacco expresso machine, and a crock pot. The menu is limited to what they can produce here: waffles, crepes, coffee, expresso and a few other items. Certainly lots of hipster Georgetown charm: an outdoor mural, metal signage, and from what I could see an all-female crew of tattooed, pierced, friendly servers and kitchen staff. The downside, this was a very slow service experience. I've eaten in places with a kitchen the size of a closet (my favorite place in Paris has an even smaller kitchen) but with faster turn around times. I respect their space restrictions, but the ktichen is like a slow and steady turtle. Very, very slow. We were told walking in (with a friendly smile) that it will take about 35 minutes from ordering to getting our food. We sat quite a while with menus and no coffee, well 20 minutes to be exact and I was starting to do math (admittedly, not my favorite subject) and I could see it would now be an hour from walking in to being anywhere near to tasting food, and we had a plane to catch. Definitely stress inducing. The food was tasty: we ordered a savory crepe with ham that was well put together (except for the the supermarket tomatoes), a sweet crepe with banana and nutella (could have been more generous on the nutella according to my nine year old crepe expert) a very generous frittata made earlier that morning (moist, and quite good) with a pepper sauce, and a small green apple and pear salad. They do have a limited menu but everything tasted simple and solid. The wait times were a real drawback for us, but the all female crew is admittedly pretty awesome in my book, so I'm averaging a three. read more

Short & sweet: loved it. It's a wonderful small house converted. You got the outside painted fence with unique stuff, old quirky art inside along sills and things, blended mineral countertop in the corner small counter, a neat wind farm piece in the bathroom and some other stuff. I sat in that small bar corner overlooking outside. Neat small spot. My waitress was friendly and she mentioned all the specials. I was going to go for the Hangar Cafe crepe but then she mentioned the one with the sausage, feta(?) and yellow squash special and I thought I want to try that... very tasty! They're rude, entitled and need a lesson in basic restaurant workflow efficiency. The hostess told us that the wait would be 30 minutes and we felt like that was unnecessary considering the tables open so we went elsewhere. Went on President's day so I expected a wait. It's a very small, cozy cafe located near Boeing Field. A younger waitress greeted us and took our name down for our party of 2. She told us about half an hour so we grabbed some coffee at All City Coffee to kill some time. Came back half an hour later and it was still quite busy. There's no waiting room inside so we waited outside in the rain. I think they could expand the outside to include a tent of some sort to accommodate all the customers waiting. The other waitress was a little short with us and said to wait outside as we were in the space they were working. She seemed quite stressed and not the friendliest. We finally got seated after about an hour at the counter in the corner, which I didn't mind. The same waitress that was stressed was serving us. She came up to take our order and I asked what the special crepe was. After taking the thought in she said right away I'll give you a few minutes to decide, although I made a quick decision and told her our order as she was walking away. They have some magazines and books to browse at while we waited. Our food came and we ate promptly. We just got the vibe that the waitress didn't really like us being there and wanted a super fast turn over. She never asked us how our food us or if we needed anything. I understand they were busy, but it would be nice to actually feel appreciated for coming in. I overheard the table next to us talking about how the same waitress asked how they wanted their bill even before we were finished eating. I guess we weren't the only ones feeling pressured to eat and leave. We did just that, we came up to the counter and paid our bill and left. I know I talked a lot about the service but service can really put a damper in the mood. Despite that, I thought the food was actually really good and I can see how there's a long wait. We got the market crepe and banana nut waffle. It was really good and I would consider doing take out next time. Sorry I'd give 5 for the food and -1 for the service so I figure a 3 is reasonable. This place is quite small so usually busy and street parking in Georgetown is a bear. Be prepared to wait to be seated. Staff is friendly and helpful. To me the food is hit or miss. I've had crepes that were great one time and ok the next. When they're in the middle of a rush accuracy and quality suffer if you special order. Excellent restaurant right next to Boeing Field! I was staying just down the street and the Hangar Cafe came at the recommendation of my Air BnB host. The weather was beautiful and sat outside both mornings I visited, once out front and the second out back. It's a great place to watch airplanes takeoff and land at BFI. The restaurant can seat a decent number of people in places ranging from inside and outside tables to outside benches if you're just enjoying a coffee with friends. I had the seasonal crepe which was extremely good and prompted me to come back the next morning. The second time I had the Hangar Crepe which was everything I wanted in a savory crepe. The poblano, basil vinaigrette that comes with the crepe was incredible. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Seattle. read more

Perfect on a cold/windy/rainy day! You can absolutely miss this small home surrounded by trees and bushes. Super cute home feeling on the on the outside and inside. warm and cozy feeling when we walked in! We ordered the biscuit and gravy that came with a side of toasted potatoes and ordered the caprese crepe that also came with a side of potatoes! you could tell they cooked it all from scratch and it was so dang good! Truly I absolutely love the Hangar. We always bring family and friends here. Justin the owner is a wonderful man and visionary. My wife and I always split the Triple B and The Hangar so we get the best of sweet and savory. On the outside you pull up to a small house as you walk up you are greeted with the amazing aroma. It's tight on the inside so large groups should check out Justin ' s location the Ridgeback. Outside seating is available but the tables are mostly 4 tops and 2 tops. Hangar Cafe is a cute brunch place in Georgetown, located in a small, charming house with a wooded gate. It almost doesn't look like a cafe, which can be deceiving and easy to miss. There isn't a private parking lot, so you'll have to make due with street parking. It also gets super busy during peak times on weekends, so either come early or after the morning rush. Unfortunately, they have somewhat limited hours on the weekends on Sat from 8 am - 3 pm or Sun from 8 am - 2 pm. I've tried several crepes, such as the turkey pesto, Nutella, and corned beef with horse radish. The corned beef was okay, though the horse radish overpowered the dish. However, my favorite is still the Turkey Pesto. It was hearty, filling, but also light tasting. read more

A full American breakfast without all the weight, that was what we were in the mood for on our last day in Seattle. Hangar Cafe, closely located to Boeing, stands as a tiny, little house with metal tables outside and a quaint seating area inside. You feel as if you have just walked into someone's home from all the eclectic decorations, plushy pillows on wooden benches, and warm lighting. We were the only ones in the restaurant, although there were a couple of parties sitting outside. The waitress was very sweet, albeit shy, and paid careful attention to us whenever we needed something. The menus were already provided at each table and showcased sandwiches, savory and sweet crepes, waffles, and little bites. We decided to have the Hangar crepe and the turkey pesto crepe. It didn't take long for our dishes to arrive and the smell coming from both was great. The green streaks that ran across the turkey pesto crepe looked extremely vibrant and tasted fresh. I speared the crepe and found thick layers of egg, cheese, and turkey inside. The crepe did get a bit soggy towards the end, but remained flaky around the edges. As for the Hangar crepe, it was stuffed with ham, eggs, tomato, and cheese, tasting like a fluffy burrito. We did want more seasoning because after a while, tomato and cheese overpowered the flavor profile. At least the side of roasted potatoes was nicely salted. Prices are reasonable and the portion of each crepe will most certainly keep you full during the day. I have a feeling the sweet crepes taste better than the savory ones, but it wasn't a bad first experience. Spent almost two hours in this establishment. Originally we had wanted a quick brunch which turned into a two hour wait. The food came an hour later after everyone who was seated after us was already served. Drinks weren't refilled, and it took another 20 minutes to get the check when we were done. For the food, the turkey club was lukewarm and had cold sections of the sandwich. The special crepe was cold and definitely not worth the hour wait and terrible service. There is also outside seating. We sat and ordered our food and it took about 30-35 mins to get our food. They weren't even busy but no one should ever have to wait that long for a meal. In addition, we didn't feel really welcomed here. The server was very short with us and seemed to have tons of energy towards other guests. Their food wasn't that great. I wouldn't be back. We got the caprese savory crepe and the lemon crepe.. They served us old fruits and little pieces of bacon... So disappointed for our first place that we visited in Seattle. read more

This place is a sentimental favorite. My son and I pulled pretty close to an "all nighter" to watch a SpaceX launching at the Museum of Flight about four years ago. He met a couple of Raisbeck Aviation High School students at the event and they invited us to tour their school. It was zero dark thirty in the morning. So, we came to the Hangar Cafe to have breakfast while we waited for the school to open. It's almost four years later to the day. Today I brought him over to do a practice AP Chemistry test and we killed time having breakfast together here again. He had the turkey pesto crêpe and I had the biscuits and gravy. The portions were ample and both products presented almost exactly as photographed. He was very happy with his crêpe, his favorite item on their menu. I loved the biscuits and gravy which were also served with home fried potatoes. I think it's important to mention that they make the richest sausage gravy I have ever had. So, if you're even thinking about counting calories, you should look a little further up and down the menu. I did enjoy the dish. But, I'll be checking my cholesterol levels before I try it again. It was about a year ago that my friend Maggy suggested this place to me, for its stuffed crepes. Now, I go just about once a week. I especially like the ham-based Hangar crepe. Sometimes I'll order the roast beef crepe, with its drizzled horseradish, for a kick. (Along those lines, the Hangar uses a hot sauce called Secret Aardvark by default, not Tabasco, and I like its habañero base much better (it's made in Portland).) I also ask about the daily special savory crepe each visit. This is a converted house, and tiny, although the owner, Justin, is currently building a new back patio. All the servers are consistently prompt and friendly. Price for a crepe, coffee, tax, and generous tip is about $19. In my use of the five star range, four means this is a regional draw. That is, I would have no problem recommending the Hangar to someone as far afield as Tacoma or Everett. It's not fancy at all, but what it does it does very well. That said, this place is so small and bijoux some patience may well be required. read more

Came here on a lunch break with ~5 other co-workers, and we managed to find a large table to accommodate us, even though the location has a pretty small interior. The waitress was very attentive to us, as there weren't that many patron in at the time. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food, and the prices were pretty moderate for the food size.
