    Salmon piroshki
    Janelle T.

I tried the salmon piroshki and wasn't a big fan of the flavor compared to other salmon piroshki I've had. My mom and I make piroshki from my grandmother's recipe so it's hard to compete with nostalgia. The staff are friendly and fast. Although they are nestled in a strip mall, the inside is cute and I'd love to spend some time in there with a coffee and friends. I'll definitely try them again since they have a ton of fun food options.

Super clean café and the staff were super sweet and welcoming. But let me be real--if you're gluten-free like me, this might not be your spot. I was so excited for the GF crepes, but they were gummy and just... off. I'm guessing they used tapioca flour because the texture was like nothing I've ever had before. And the chocolate sauce? It tasted like the kind you squeeze out of a bottle from the grocery store--way too sweet and kind of overwhelming. I was starving, so I powered through a third of it, but then I actually started feeling nauseous from all the sugar. Now, they were busy and people seemed happy with their food, so I'm guessing the regular menu might be solid--but for my gluten-free babes, it's a no from me.

Recently stopped by for a late brunch and had a really lovely experience. It's a cozy café with a great variety on the menu. I especially loved the honey pastry. It tasted amazing and I'd definitely recommend warming it up. The piroshkis were good too, though a bit pricier compared to more traditional piroshki spots. I also tried the strawberry Nutella crêpe and the waffle cone, both of which were enjoyable. The cappuccino was excellent. I took a Turkish coffee to go but honestly wish I had enjoyed it in the café instead. The service was polite and welcoming. I'd love to visit again.

Enjoy beautiful crepes, teas and pastries in this local Everett gem. The food was tasty, light and well done.

Decent spot, but with some drawbacks. A few desserts were genuinely good, others just okay. Coffee comes in large mugs, which is a nice touch. Overall, the food is solid, but the interior is far from cozy -- not a place you'd want to linger in. It's also unclear why tipping is expected here: you have to clear your own dishes, and the prices aren't exactly low. Looking back, I wouldn't have left a tip -- it doesn't feel like there's much service involved. All in all, 4 stars for the taste, but I'd think twice before coming back.

We were in Everett and my son says this is the place to get great piroshki. It's a small cafe with some tables to enjoy the food and drink and a case chock full of delicious looking pastries and sweet or savory piroshki. It was hard to choose but I ended up getting the potato and mushroom and my son's usual apple cinnamon with cream cheese. They asked us if wanted it warmed up and it came out nice and hot. The bread was so soft and the filling was tasty. It was a decent size too. I didn't get to sample the apple cinnamon cream cheese one because my grandson devoured it. It was soft and smelled yummy. There's also coffees and teas

Over 15 years ago, at a play date with one of my friends adopted from Russia and another friend, we talked about piroshky and did not have any. I left the conversation with my interest piqued about piroshky, what is it? I do not know, but I want to try it! Their tip for me was to know what type of piroshky I want to try. So, over 15 years later, and with much ordering experience under my belt I decided it was time to eat my first piroshky. I decided to come to Piroshky & Crepes European Cafe and Bakery because it was in a central, yet tucked away, location. My visit was on Wednesday 9 November 2022 in the early afternoon and after the lunch rush. When I walked in, a duo of men had just finished placing their order and where sitting down at a table to wait. Another individual was at a different table working on a laptop. I checked out the display case and decided to go with two types: one sweet (Strawberry and White Chocolate) and one savory (Ham and Cheese). The woman behind the counter took my order and asked if I wanted the piroshky warmed up, which I decided to go with. It took less than five minutes for my order to be ready, and I took it out to my car to eat. I started with the Strawberry and White Chocolate and finished with the Ham and Cheese. Both were delicious. The bread was light and fluffy, and the flavors of the fillings for each melded perfectly. The strawberries were mildly sweet, which was refreshing as strawberry baked goods can be excessively sweet sometimes. The white chocolate was a perfect complement, and in good proportions to the strawberries. Ham chunks in the savory piroshky were well cooked and not too small to catch the flavor. Cheese and herbs were visible and discernible by my palate in the filling as well. Finished both piroshky before taking off and driving back home. The worker behind the counter was friendly and the other customers well-mannered. All around a perfect first-piroshky experience.

Crowded dining on a Sunday at 10:30am

First time in, on a late Sunday morning, and it was busy! We were able to order within a couple minutes and thankfully in that time a couple cleared out of the bar seating, otherwise we would have had to eat in our car. The ambiance was casual but lively, and they could definitely use more seating. The pastry portion of the piroshkys were delicate and delicious but the filling of both were a bit bland (a little salt would have gone a long way), and both lattes had a very mild vanilla flavor (almost nonexistent). I definitely plan on going back to try more of the menu, just maybe in a weekday when it's a bit less crowded.

ACTUALLY, here at J'aime Les Crêpes, the crêpes themselves seem fine. It's that they load them with WAY too much goo. Gooey goo goo. Mountains of gooey sweetness. They have a captive audience of hungry, bored ferry passengers just awaiting transport, and perhaps these people are goo lovers one and all, besides me. I mean my worst, number one hated food is fudge, so if you love fudge then perhaps do not heed my opinion and get a sweet, sloppy, goolicious crêpe. Like I said, I have friends who will, in passing by, eat these crêpes and enjoy the experience. The shop IS cute, and the service seems fine. The walk-up window is fun and convenient. The price is typical for eating out, which is to say, pretty damned expensive, but that is not J'aime Les Crêpes fault in the slightest. And yes, in general, j'aime les crêpes also, but for me, please hold the ginormous mountains of sticky thicky goo.

The interior is small, though they have additional seating outside. Many diners got to-go orders, which is surprising since crepes get soggy easily. Anyway, service was fine. The guy tried to be courteous but failed; I won't go into details. Prices are a touch higher than the nearby place; they include a salad to differentiate for the savory crepes. I wish creperies differentiate how they make the base crepe depending on savory vs. sweet. Savory ones benefit from more oil to enhance the seared flavor, while sweet ones don't. Their base crepe is good, not great. The Food: Merguez, $20 - 2.5 Stars This crepe has spicy Moroccan lamb sausage with onions, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and peppers. The overall size is modest. Hubby orders lamb often but was disappointed with these lamb sausages. He said they mostly taste like little smokies. Not a complimentary description. They are similar to the plain lox variety that might be on a bagel, which is not as flavorful. On the plus side, I thought this is a well-stuffed crepe. The included salad for both is a mixed greens with tomatoes, feta, parmesan, olives, tomatoes, and range dressing. I wish restaurants spill out their ingredients on menus. I don't like cold cheese; I could have saved them some money and tell them to skip it on mine.
