They have outdoor seating right in front to the restaurant, and as it was a lovely evening, we took advantage of that. The person taking our order was very friendly, and helpful. When my husband asked to skip the cheese on his Southwestern, the guy asked if he'd like hummus instead. So they're quite flexible in how they make these. I wish I'd realized that my Harvest Moon came with a lot of 'balsamic reduction' poured on top. I found it very sweet, which I'm almost positive meant they added quite a bit of sweetener (honey or sugar). Our food was brought out to us in less than ten minutes. We really had split opinions on this one. For me, the food was a 2* at best. The crepe was not what I consider to be an authentic crepe, which should be light, and thin, not thick and doughy. And of course, mine was so covered in that sweet sauce, I felt like I'd gotten a sweet rather than savory crepe, which was absolutely not what I was looking for. Been going here for years and can't believe I haven't shared my experiences here! They've changed up a little since they opened and it's always for the better. My go to is the typical strawberry Nutella (light on the Nutella). Although there can be a wait time sometimes, you can always count on your crepe to be fresh. One of the first things you will probably notice is the challenge which so far has claimed almost 400 victims and only around 6 winners. If you can finish 10ib of crepes between you and a friend in an hour you get 1/2 off crepes for life and your money back. If you can't, it's $60 + $20 damage deposit. The service is great and quick as well. They are pretty good with substitutions so we always get it with no beans and extra avocado instead which they are good with. Stopped by on a cold rainy Sunday and while there was no line, we had to wait close to 20 minutes for a crepe and cappuccino. The crepe was pretty good, but this place probably markets more to kids as it was very sweet. Next time, I might try a savory one instead. The coffee was a little bitter, and was served way too hot--even with a sleeve, I could barely hold it in my hands. The place seemed a bit messily run--I normally expect drinks to come out a bit before food, which is why the long wait for my coffee was a surprise. One of the employees asked me at one point it I had gotten my coffee, which made me think they were not keeping track of their tickets. Additionally, I overheard another family who had arrived before me say they had been waiting 30 minutes for their food. The crepizza tasted exactly like a 99 cent store hot pocket and the garlic chicken pesto was 99 percent garlic -- chef boyardee in the back decided to pour the entire bottle of garlic powder on the crepe and it lowered my blood pressure by about 10 points. I've also been to AB Crepes a lot and I always loved the food and the people. I never had a bad experience until the last couple times I went. The whole time I was there with my boyfriend, the workers were just mean mugging us amd blatantly just staring at us when we were the only ones in the store. At one point the younger girl actually pointed at us and didn't realize I was looking for a couple seconds! We felt very uncomfortable and got our food and left. We dropped in on a Saturday evening (around 6:00pm) and it was busy. A couple of large groups came in. Seems to be popular with the university crowd. The inside is a mishmash of old and new, with the oddest layout for seating. The menu consists of 23 crepe options (sweet and savoury) along with a small drink selection and randomly, cookies ($0.50 US). Sadly, those were long gone. Order and pay at the counter first then grab a seat. There's a self serve water station (hot and cold) in one of the corners. - Garlic chicken pesto ($9.66 US) - chopped chicken, mozzarella, tomato, red onion and basil pesto. The red onions aren't cooked. Filling was decent but flavours didn't blow me away. It's simple. Decent but I've had better crepes in my lifetime. read more
