I can't believe we waited an entire hour for the food to arrive after we ordered. Arrived at the restaurant at 10:30 on a Sunday. The cafe was completely empty inside, one table in use out front, and most of the rear patio in use. They said our table of four could sit on the back patio if we waited 10 minutes--which we kindly did. Waiter was nice. We ordered by 10:45. I kid you not, it was 11:45 when we received our food. Each one of us drank four cups of coffee just as something to do while we waited. The place was 2/3 empty when we arrived, so I cannot for the life of me figure out what took so long to make four crepe entrees. A crepe takes, what five minutes? Did the chef call out sick or something?! The staff seemed like this was normal. Food was decent, although I'd have eaten just about anything at that point, so who knows. Portions were so-so. I could see plenty of plate before I started eating, so it's not like it was tipping any scales. It's a shame because the place looks cute. Sadly, we won't be back. read more

First impressions everything and we already had good vibes about this place from the cute front view of a house-like cafe. I will say this place is small, but very clean and quaint. Open kitchen concept which we loved. Definitely more outdoor seating vs indoor. Great set-up and didn't feel crowded. Indoor walls are beautifully painted.. gave our experience such a homey vibe. Our server was so nice and welcoming from start to finish. I ordered the frittata and potatoes. My meal was amazing! Such a wholesome portion and had leftovers. I found Hangar Cafe online, and the photos really drew me in. Unfortunately, what isn't advertised is the extremely long wait time for food. My partner and I waited 45 minutes which, no matter how much you frame it as a "leisure brunch experience," is simply inexcusable. Multiple reviews mention waits of 40-60 minutes, so it's clearly a recurring issue. The host/server Julia was welcoming at first but became dismissive and rude when I politely brought up the excessive wait. I was all but angered when Julia implied I should never come back. A simple apology and a fair discount would've gone a long way. We ordered a savory crepe and a waffle, both were genuinely good. Big thank you to the chef for executing great food in what seems to be a severely understaffed kitchen. Running a lunch rush with only two people on shift is not just unsustainable, it's unfair to the staff and the customers. The food and atmosphere are solid, but be warned: unless you're first in line, expect to wait 40+ minutes for your meal. Not angry at the staff, they're doing their best with what they have. 5/30/21 Treated dad to brunch for his birthday a few days early. If were smart we would've got up a little earlier. Put my name in and had a 20 minute wait. They have more outdoor seating than you realize in the back and part is undercover. We were seated outside my first time being seated outside and it was nice lots of plants they did a great job keeping tables well distanced from each other. I don't really look at the menu when I visit except to make sure the Triple B Waffle is still on it. I know people come fo the crepes and they're good I've had them but I'll almost always get the Triple B. Come on! you can't go wrong with bacon, brie and fresh basil. The crepes are absolutely wonderful. One of the best savory crepes yet. It's very filling and worth its price. They provide loads of different hot sauces that you can eat with your food. The inside is very cozy and the outside is very cute. Even if you're sitting out in the cold, they have heat lamps and tons of blankets for you to use. The waitress is incredibly nice and wonderful. I don't often leave negative reviews because honestly, people aren't perfect. Even the best places make mistake or mess up sometimes. It happens. In other words, you have to really piss me off to make me leave a negative review. So here we go. Don't get me wrong, the food is great. But I really haven't had service this bad in a very very long time. In short, we waited for an hour, and our food hasn't showed up. And thru out this time, we were never once asked if we want our coffee refilled. We have to ask for refills while the server ask other tables whether they want their coffee refilled. Are you discriminating us because we're the only minority in the seating area? They finally realized something was wrong. Instead of admitting our order was not in the system, our server lied and said there were two big parties before us. We know it's a lie because the group that got seated right before us got their order, ate it, and finish paying before we got anything. So they did this token gesture of giving us a coffee cake. Then, the group that sat down after us got their food. So the lie is up. The waitress then admitted the system never took our order. It's like, people mess up, it's fine...but don't lie and compound the insult. Worst service ever. And I still wonder if this is racial discrimination since to the very end, she never asked us if we want a refill for our coffee. read more

Hangar Cafe is a lovely little gem off the beaten path in Georgetown. It's a old house converted into an adorable cafe. The interior only has room for four tables, so go early, be prepared for outdoor dining, or waiting. There's outdoor patio dining in the back that has heated lamps. Service: great! It's obvious there are regulars which is a good sign. We felt welcomed and well taken care of. I saw a review on Yelp about a long wait. We had a great experience. This is not a drive through or a chain diner. It's a small business with an owner and team who have clearly put a lot of heart and soul into this neighborhood cafe. I saw people working as efficiently as possible to make sure we were all fine. Breakfast: we definitely started off on the right foot with a good cup of coffee and a shared slice of still steaming freshly baked coffee cake with whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel. (Heaven). Breakfast burrito and the Hangar (savory crepe) were also yummy. I love the array of hot sauces available to add a touch of heat to your preference. Parking is on the street, but I think it's not too hard to find close by on the weekends. I wouldn't want to park too far away. Greeted at the door and shown to the back patio for brunch on Sunday, got a refillable drip coffee and shared a triple b waffle and also ordered a market crepe.. didn't need both (one was plenty!) but getting two items meant I could try more and take home leftovers!!! Really enjoyed the space and how kind and helpful and attentive the service was. Food was spot on and reasonably priced. This is really a hidden gem. when the weather is nice you should sit in the front or back patio though the inside has alot of charm to. A+ on the menu too. The service is great though dont be in a rush to get your food. it takes time. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating was because of the super weak 7-11 style coffee. being that Seattle is such a big coffee town, you'd expect the drip coffee to be good quality to compliment the food instead it doing the opposite. so bring your own and enjoy this one of a kind eatery. read more

My wife and I visited the Hanger Cafe with friends from out of town last Sunday and it was nothing short of divine. There is plenty of seating, favoring the outdoors, and they are dog friendly. Our waitress had one of the most relaxed and helpful vibes I've experienced dining out. The food was fantastic. Everyone of us ordered a different dish and everyone left satisfied. I will warn others, it can take a minute to get your food. However, using one's eyeballs, one can see the kitchen set up when they walk in and compare it to the number of people in the space. Some reviews lead me to believe people don't cook often at home enough to complain about the speed at which the food arrives to the table. I digress. The food, atmosphere, the service, everything was amazing. Also, just went with my wife again this morning and it was the same experience; amazing. Also, my dish took a bit longer to come out versus my wife so we were given a free coffee cake despite zero issue from myself in my food taking a bit longer, our waitress just made the call to bring it to us. The potatoes weren't my favorite and more on the bland side. The crepes were decent but the crepes were huge. All the staff are nice, but the service was slow and I wouldn't recommend anyone to come here if they're in a hurry. We arrived at 8:45am and was seated quickly. We finished at 10:40am. I've been to the Hangar Cafe twice. I really wanted to like it, but unfortunately I can't recommend this place. They are open during COVID for dine in. They have both inside and outside tables. This place looks like a small house that was converted into a cafe. It is really cute inside and has a lot of personality. Each table has fresh flowers, unique salt and pepper shakers, and the coffee mugs are all different. It's like dining at your grandma's house. LOL I ordered the Market crepe (apple smoked bacon, mozzarella, caramelized onions, tomato, spinach, topped with poblano and creme fraiche), which is served with roasted potatoes. The crepe was pretty huge (you could probably split one). I liked the flavor, but the filling was only lukewarm. Also, I didn't get that many potatoes, so I thought it was really unbalanced. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy, which was listed on their weekend specials menu. The gravy was cold and the whole thing was really sweet for some reason. We left smelling like fried food that stuck to our hair and clothes. The food itself was about a 3/5. We got the Nutella crepe and frittata which were fine but nothing mind blowing. However, service was just ridiculously slow and brought this experience to a 1/5. We waited 1 hour for our food the restaurant was not even busy. There were maybe 3-4 other parties there. When I asked to get a comp for a side of fruit or a coffee cake, the server responded "sure but just letting you know I did quote everyone here an hour wait for food" which was completely untrue. I definitely was not told that. We got our food an hour later and part way through eating, my friend found a hair in her whipped cream. The owner was nice about the situation and remade the crepe in about 7 minutes. It left me wondering why they could make the crepe so quickly but our originally order took 1 hour to arrive. At the end the owner did comp my coffee as well so that was nice of her. Her hospitality brought my experience up to a 2/5 but will never return due to the absurd wait time for food. read more

This wasn't your ordinary brunch time. I feel like any reviews under 4 stars clearly ordered poorly and are very difficult to please people (or came at a bad time maybe? Idk) because me and my dining companion had our collective minds blown by the best crepe either of us had ever had (both breakfast savory crepes) and then... the g'damn coffee cake. But Drusilla (short curly red hair) is the gem of Hangar Cafe and gave the kind of service someone not from the area will be desperate for after a couple days of walking around Seattle and organically being a friendly outgoing person met with stiff, weird, "why are you even talking to me?" Faces by strangers. The atmosphere is intimate and cute, the little decor touches were noticed and appreciated at every turn. I will 1000% be back any time I'm in the area. It was the perfect meal (I had the Market crepe with an egg added to it). Oh! Also also also, the FireFlower sauce with Ghost Peppers and Beets they carry there as complimentary hot sauce/salsa (and sell there amongst two other flavors) is a must have. We got there at 11 am on a Sunday and were seated ~15 minutes later. They have indoor seating as well as outdoor seating in both the front and the back of the restaurant. We opted to eat outside in the back area which is a really cute space! We were greeted quickly with friendly service and put in our order. The menu focuses mainly on crepes, waffles, and sandwiches. My brother had the apple brie crepe, I had the hangar crepe, and we ordered the Triple B waffle to share. While the hangar crepe I ordered was good, I would definitely say I prefer the Triple B - the combination of the brie, bacon, and basil on a waffle is something I can't wait to eat again. We enjoyed our experience but I think it's important to note, the wait times are looooong. Even though the restaurant was about half full, it took ~45 minutes to get our dishes.
