We stayed at The Godfrey Hotel so we breakfast'd here as it's onsite. The entire staff is so warm, professional, knowledgeable and efficient. Laurice was our kind server. We began with a pot of excellent coffee roast. It is served in an Alessi carafe to keep it hot, and that it did! Both our orders came with Breakfast Potatoes. Unfortunately, they were lukewarm and more mushy than expected. My companion's Benedict Holandaise sauce was not as lemony as he likes, but the spinach and house ham were flavorful for him. I recommend the very tasty Breakfast Wrap. The Applewood bacon and spicy maple aioli really made the wrap mouthwatering good! We found the price point for breakfast very reasonable. The food quantity was good, and of course I cannot complain about a large pot of excellent coffee roast that is hot. All in all, I'd certainly return. The space is open to Michigan Ave. It's clean and fresh and friendly. read more

Upscale bar in the heart of Detroit's Corktown District in the new Godfrey Hotel on the ground floor. Stopped in after an engagement/birthday celebration for a nightcap, only to stumble upon one of the tastiest Manhattans ever. Dak's very own Bardstown Manhattan (sub fig syrup). Delicious and Chill. Caught Dak out of her usual element in the lounge for this treat, and glad I did. UPDATE: I wrote the review prior to receiving the check. Was slightly surprised that the Bill came in at just under $50 for two drinks before tip. Didn't expect to be paying Manhattan prices for a Manhattan in Corktown maybe this is the new Southwest Detroit!? read more

This is my FAVORITE restaurant in Detroit. My husband and I have tried numerous dishes here! We always get the spinach dip, and one of us always gets a steak- the sauces with the steaks are so flavorful. I love that this is a rotating menu with elevated but recognizable items. Their staff is friendly, and location is great! read more

Food service and ambiance was great. Some of the best food I've eaten, in the city, in a long time.

Great food, quick service and very nice ambiance. People friendly and attentive to our needs such as refills. They bagged up our leftovers for us.I had 3 Buttermilk pancakes were standard sized. They were just right meaning not fluffy, not too thick. I ordered some bacon (5)on the side. couldn't eat it all. Also had western omelette with roasted potatoes which were also great. My only gripe is the omelette could have been a little bigger for the price. read more

Wanted to try this place mostly because they were in the Godfrey Hotel in Corktown and my Husband had been wanting to go there. Postponed the reservation 2 times because the menu wasn't thrilling to us but decided to go on our 3rd reservation and I'm so happy we did! I read a review where someone said same thing regarding the menu but said to try the everything buttermilk biscuits which were worth the hype. I never order fried chicken at a restaurant but the server suggested it and it was amazing. Be careful of the hot honey though it can be really hot if you aren't used to it. I asked for mashed potatoes instead of collard greens and they were probably the best mashed potatoes I've had in a long time. My husband had the smash burger and was very happy with it although a little messy which would normally deter him from finishing it but did not. He ate it all which is saying a lot for the burger. Overall everything-food, service and ambiance was top notch and we'll definitely go back. read more

5 stars for service. 5 stars for cocktails. 3 stars for menu. It's so limited and nothing is very sophisticated/complex in flavor profiles. The oysters were very good. The salmon cooked well - but nothing to write home about read more

Outstanding Thanksgiving Dinner! It was so delicious, it tasted like it would be more expensive than what it was. Everyone was nice and they made sure my son didn't eat any nuts because of his allergy. The room was filled with good vibes! read more

Amazing service, great food, I had the Cob Salad, OMG best salad I've ever had, my husband and our friends all had burgers they loved them, I tried my husband's fries and they were seasoned and delicious but a bit too salty for me. The ambiance was great, nice and quiet to have good conversation with our friends. We will be back when we return to this beautiful city. read more

Beautiful restaurant, quick competent service & delicious food. I ordered the garden of daisy's drink per the servers recommendation & it was so good! The oysters were fresh & the sauce was a perfect pairing. The spinach dip was tasty and a large portion - it came with plenty of fresh chips. The filet was good to perfection and on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes. Left very full & happy! Can't wait to come back! read more

Ambiance: very nice inside, Great selection in music, it was smooth R&B. Perfect volume. Service: lackluster. Was given two sets of dirty silverware. Back to back. Lack of communication until an issue arose. Took 25 minutes to get drinks to the table after ordered (which were 2 Shirley temples and 1 alcoholic drink). They did have a pre-teen birthday so maybe that caused the service to be not-so-great. Food: trash. We ordered 2 fried chicken meals, 1 burger, fries, & spinach artichoke dip. It took our waiter an hour to finally tell us that they ran out of fried chicken. We got there at 7 ordered about 730, no check in regarding the status of our food within that hour btw. The only check in we received was after an hour when they were sold out. My friend decided to order the chicken parm as a replacement for that to come out raw in the center. Thankfully she cut into the center before eating off her plate. We were happy our pregnant friend did not order it because that was one of the choices she considered as a meal. Waiter offered to give her steak, but we were creeping up on hour 2 of being there and have not ate. We were ready to go & that clearly spoiled our whole tables' appetite. Spinach dip lacked seasoning/taste. The fries however were amazing! I ordered their sundae instead of food only because I had my taste buds set on the chicken. It was ok. The chocolate ice cream & cake bits were my favorite part of it. Our bill was comped. But I won't be back due to long wait times, lack of initial communication during our visit til an issue occurred, and raw food. That's a one and done experience. read more

Meh. The 3 stars I'm giving are for the gorgeous decor, the friendly hostess and server and the cocktails. As for the food, my husband said it best: "Everything was a 6.5." The best thing we had was the tuna crudo. And although it was a bit oily, it was still flavorful. The beef dumplings were okay, but gave pot roast in November vibes. The lobster bisque was mid...honestly Zoup!'s is much better. The orecchiete was bland and the salmon portion atop was dry and laughably small. The chicken was overdone and dry and the mac and cheese was just okay, especially for the price. For an anniversary meal, it was quite a letdown. Too bad the food didn't match the ambiance. An empty dining room on a Friday night told us too late what others must already know. read more

Very good food! We ordered the tuna tar tar, fish and chips, and tomato soup. The service was very good too! Very beautiful restaurant.

Cute place in Corktown's new Godfrey Hotel. They offer valet parking, but I was able to find street parking right out front. We came here for a breakfast date and were so pleased with the service. Our server (Lindsay) was helpful with recommendations and even informed us of upcoming specials and events at the property. They were not too busy for a Saturday morning, however that meant our food came out pretty quickly and coffee refills were readily available. My favorite part of the meal were the potatoes, they were toasted and seasoned to perfection! I will definitely come back to try lunch/dinner menu. read more

Impressive! Hamilton's is the new restaurant inside the Godfrey Hotel. They've done an excellent job with the interior. It's modern and comfortable with glass along Michigan Ave so the views are nice as well. We started with the tuna tartare which is served on a fried rice cakes. The taste is excellent although the portion size may be a little small. For our entrees we had the cheeseburger, the Denver steak and a side of mac & cheese. All of them were very good and cooked perfectly. The restaurant has only been open for about a week but the service was spot on. Our server was Tamiko and she was wonderful. Great service and personality. Hamilton's is a nice addition to Detroit's burgeoning restaurant scene. We'll be back. read more

We're staying at the Godfrey and stopped in here for some breakfast. I got the house cured salmon and my partner got the corned beef hash. We both got pots of Earl Grey tea (even after steeping for 10 minutes, they weren't strong) and the salmon dish had red onions on top, which weren't indicated on the menu. As I have some food sensitivities and try to avoid raw onions, I would have loved to know ahead of receiving my food, so that I could ask them not to put them on. This is one of my biggest pet peeves with restaurants. Please include all elements of the dish in descriptions. The decor was lovely but our server wasn't especially attentive or warm and they weren't busy at all. read more

A beautiful space with and awesome view of Michigan Avenue and Corktown. Service was attentive and friendly. We enjoyed our visit.

What a pleasant surprise this place is! We were just looking for a place to eat downtown without a wait and we happened to pop in here. We were seated right away and I really liked the atmosphere. Within 20 minutes after our arrival the place was packed! Our waiter Clay was very sweet and attentive. I had the steak frites and it was delicious! I would definitely come here again and recommend this place to my friends. Yum! read more

We had a party of 8. Food was good, but small portions for the cost. Drinks were very slow, soup was slow (two came out, then 10 min later two more) and dinners were not all brought out at the same time. I finished my meal before my friend got hers. We ordered the same thing. They comp'd her meal, which was nice, but still we were underwhelmed and disappointed. read more

Stayed at the Godfrey and had breakfast here. Everything was delicious. Loved that they offered unsweetened almond milk. The coffee was very good also. We tried biscuits and Gravy, the breakfast sandwich and the French omelette- everyone enjoyed their food! Only bit of feedback would be to provide more of a beverage menu with brunch cocktails. A good espresso martini, a coffee beer, fun mimosas etc. I know you have a full bar but a menu is nice so you can see the ingredients and love put into the bev and the prices. Overall, loved everything and can't wait to try dinner next! read more

I love checking out new places and I've been following and waiting to get to Hamiltons for a while, that's why this is so disappointing to write. First the restaurant was half empty and we had a reservation, they tried to sit us at the absolute worst table in the middle of everyone walking by. We asked to if we could be at a booth since both booth sides in the back we're completely open and we were given and attitude and told those were for people with reservations...I literally made this reservation 3 weeks in advance. Eventually we were moved and got started with the spinach and artichoke dip, the dip itself was good, not great just good, but the chips were awful! They tasted like they had just been left sitting out exposed going stale. When the waitress asked how it was we mentioned our concern about the chip and were told they were very fresh and made from scratch every day, even went as far as to speak down to us that we "must not be used to freshly made chips that aren't from a bag." All of our mains were very good, but frankly they should be for how expensive everything is, I ordered the 6oz filet but I'd guess it was closer to 3-4oz to be honest. Drinks were fine, nothing special. When the bill came my 2 friends and I asked for our own separated and we were told no, that they will only do up to 2 bills. Over all I was disappointed by the service, not very impressed but the food given the cost and the ambiance is nice but frankly pretty mainstream. I definitely won't be going back and will mostly tell others to skip it. read more

Hamilton's was a pleasant surprise and is way more than just the restaurant in the hotel. We met friends for dinner who were staying on site and didn't have very high expectations because it was a hotel restaurant. However, that changed when the food arrived. We had the Hamachi and spinach dip to start. Both were delicious. Their spinach dip is not the nasty stuff your local bar serves! They had a 32oz dry-aged wagyu porterhouse special with a fig demi glacé which was excellent. Plenty for two people to help justify the price and we even took a few pieces home. Don't pass it up if they're offering it when you visit! Sides of Mac & cheese and sweet potato were also excellent. The mac & cheese was baked, and that can sometimes be dry, but this one had a nice pool of cheese sauce under the top crust that we loved. Service was also excellent, and it was a packed house on a Friday night. Our glasses were never empty. Thank you, Hamilton's! We will be back :) read more

Visited yesterday to look at event venues. The reviews were questionable and we needed to see for ourselves what Hamilton's had to offer. The service and Micheal our server was exceptional. The food was mouthwatering with seasoning, taste and temperatures perfect! The cocktails were so good, that we enjoyed a second round. The chocolate cake was delicious and enough for 4 people to share. The dim lite atmosphere with artistic deigns was comfortable. I am glad we gave this restaurant a look and we plan to visit again in the near future. read more

Ambiance is nice. Menu is extremely limited. My husband and I both wanted the beet salad and they were out of it. Which seems odd. Server was not friendly and she was very pushy.
