Delicious Boba in attractive big containers! This was the first Boba I had in Los Angeles that my local friend took me to. If any of you are from Minnesota, this place really reminded me of Tea Garden, but better in my opinion. The menu is large and also consists food items as well. I was surprised to see starfruit and lychee as fruit options for the drinks. I ordered one of the drink suggestions off of the "Top 10" List. I had the Green Apple with Green Jellies and I added extra aloe. When I received my drink, I was astounded by how big and wide the container was. It's ENORMOUS. I've been a fan!!! Service 5/5: They're nice. This is the Pasadena location and so far all the workers I've encountered here are really sweet. Food 5/5: Ok so this is a boba tea place so my review is based on just their drinks (they sell little snack like brick toast, but I've never had it). I've been to a few of their other locations and honestly, this Pasadena location is the only one that seems to keep their drinks consistent. I can't remember the last time I got a drink and did not like it. The teas always have a strong flavor here and sweetness is almost to perfection every time, sometimes it may get a tad bit too sweet but I'm not complaining. My usual order is wintermelon green tea w/ vanilla latte, or bo's coffee with vanilla latte and if I'm not in the mood for anything creamy I'll just get honey green tea or wintermelon green tea. Oh! Sigh, I wish you opened earlier! My usual place for milk tea is Cha but now I pass by two half&half on my way to school so I decided to stop here for my milk tea craving. Attempt #1: Stopped by around 11:35am or so since I have a 12pm Monday class..dammit! not opened until 11:45am. Good thing there is a Starbucks next door to satisfy my caffeine needs in a jiffy. Attempt #2: Now that I know it opens at 11:45am, stop by around 12:40pm just before my Thursday 1pm class. Was a little worried that it would be crowded (but I guess that just means Starbucks gets my business) but huzzah! No crowds! Ordered my staple Almond Milk Tea (Iced, large, no boba - around $4.15 or so) and pleased that I get it in about 5 minutes. The almond milk tea is creamy and I like that they use crushed ice vs. large ice cubes, but not quite as sweet as I prefer and the almond flavor is definitely more subtle. Their large sized cups actually fit in my cup holder. The guy at the counter taking my order was super friendly. Shared large-ish parking lot with Starbucks, B-man, Subway, etc...I'm sad that the almond milk tea isn't quite up to my standard, but that just means I have to be more adventurous to find my perfect drink here. read more

The line gets long, quickly and after 6 different flavors 'not carried' it gets frustrating and then you have a line of angry customers behind you because now you have to make a rush decision. Visit all Half & Half locations: check! Was on my way to Pasadena one night from San Gabriel and remembered that Half & Half had just recently opened up a location on Huntington Dr so decided to check it out. It's in the same plaza as B-Man's and How's Market so at night there was plenty of spots since How's was already closed. This new location is about the same as all the other express locations. Same wood trim with similar lighting fixtures. There are more chairs and tables for people to sit and relax after drinks are received but there's absolutely no waiting area if all the tables are taken. People are just cramped inside so I ended up just chilling outside and waited for the dude before me to get his drinks to head back in. Since this is an Express, they have the 1000cc bucket sized drinks here, which I love. I can kill 2-3 of those in a day if I really want to, but... I've learned that a little self-control is a good thing :P Got my usual of oolong fresh milk tea with less less sugar and less ice, and received exactly what I ordered! Also got a grapefruit green tea to go. I love how the grapefruit drinks, or any drinks with fruit, have pulp. Non-milk drinks are perfect for leaving it overnight in the fridge to go with your breakfast since it's already sealed up nicely for you! A little out of the way since I'm usually closer to other locations if I'm in the 626 but good to know that Pasadena/San Marino residents have one a little bit closer to them now! read more

Honey boba milk tea!! Yes, that's what I got and I was quite satisfied with it. I haven't tasted anything like it! The milk tea was nicely flavored by the honey boba, and it came in the cutest "tubs." I call them that because it's an abnormal cup size that won't fit in cup holders, but fits great when you cup it with both hands, plus it's short and fat. Love it. The tea itself is not too strong (like I normally would like it) but the honey really adds a whole different taste to it. You might want to tell the cashier who is taking your order about how sweet you would like it. They have a variety of boba drinks. They have egg pudding that can be put in the drink... which is awesome. They probably make the best pudding. The pudding can be flavored. Well, more like the drink. They have caramel and chocolate. Caramel is the best. Overall they have a great selection of boba tea drinks, and also a good selection of fruit slush. The drinks are well priced compared to other places. I like all the Half and Half places. But, for some reason if you look at the business cards closely... they could be individually owned. It has Half and Half, then the Tea Express part is different. What is the hype? The honey boba. A cold drink in your hand while sipping in the SoCal ugly weather. I've been to 3 half and half and this location is my favorite. They have better seating options and more room! I hate having to wait outside or not being able to sit down with my drink. Who likes to stand up and drink a nice cup of boba? NOT ME! My go to is number 1. Iced milk tea (less ice since I like the taste better than it being watered down) egg pudding with caramel. So GOOD! Sometimes I like to mix it up and add taro pudding. The downfall fall of adding pudding is that it takes up a lot of room so there isn't a lot of drink to it. I suggest maybe ask for light on the pudding and light on the ice. I was greeted very well by Danielle (I hope that is her name) She was a super nice cashier. Apparently the number 1 was not the same as the other locations. Why? I have no clue. This place is as busy as the store on Atlantic in Monterey Park. What I like about this location is that they have seating and the consistency of the drink is as good as the Atlantic location. This is my spot. Or, more accurately, this is my spot with L. L and I, without fail, go to Half and Half every time he visits me. I think I created an addict. Since we've been consistently going, I've probably gained weight in terms of their honey bobas, fresh milk teas, and lychee jellies. I've ordered the taro milk tea, honeydew milk tea, winter melon tea, winter melon milk tea, the green apple tea, the strawberry green tea (all with boba - except the green apple tea I ordered with rainbow jelly) and . . . possibly other combinations I've forgotten. The green apple is tart and very tasty, the strawberry green tea, honeydew and winter melon teas are very sweet. The taro is good and not too sweet but the chunks of taro make it a meal in itself and somewhat too dense for hot summer days. L likes to order either the honey green tea with boba, or the #8 on the most popular menu list - which I believe is lychee green tea with aloe and lychee jelly. Overall, it's my favoritest place to get boba. Their bobas, when fresh, are still warm, sitting at the bottom of a cold drink and are slightly gooey and almost melt in your mouth. As they chill out, they become chewier but still retain their soft and fresh texture. Their teas are superbly fresh - and of course are never comparable to those powder mixtures at other tea houses. Their teas a little dull in color and not bright and vibrant [which is an indication of food coloring and artificiality] which says to me they're natural. I'm sure they use syrups and powders for some drinks, but their taro is def the real deal. Boba here is always consistent and sometimes they have the colored ones which look cool. I also love their Taro milk tea cause they use taro and even without sugar it's already sweet. Unfortunately, one bad thing about this place is that you never know when their hours of operation are because they don't have it posted anywhere. Among the few times my friend tried to go there, they were closed 2 times!! x| Now that sucks. But it turns out I'm not a huge fan of the boba itself, so I will get just the tea next time. From out of town and really needed to use the restroom! Came into this little boba shop and decided to order a drink after the bathroom. Ordered the taro milk tea in regular size with no boba and it came out within 5 minutes. The person who took my order was really nice and they had some cute drawings of their food options on their wall. If I had time, I would've loved to stay and try some of their food! Earlier that day my daughter and I went to a Karate ranking exam. I promised her a boba treat if she made a strong effort. I felt she tried hard, so I took her to this store, which happened to be very close to my house. She told me she heard great things from her friends about the quality of the boba tea from this place, so we definitely wanted to give it a try. We noticed a sign next to the cashier listing the top ten items. Inspired, we chose the first item, which was a boba tea infused with honey and pudding. The regular size was $6.86 out the door, which was a little steep IMHO for their smallest size. We brought the sealed drink home, but since it was in the late evening we only allowed my daughter a few small sips so she would not stay up from caffeine. I decided to save it for her breakfast the next day. It was then that I noticed then after a taste test that this brew was extremely rich. The tea is very concentrated and the sugar content is extremely high. My wife noted that the tea leaves a sensation of a film on her tongue. Noting this, I portioned out only 1/3 of the drink for that morning, and ended up spreading the portion to my daughter out over the next two days. She liked the tea generally but was not a fan of the pudding at all. We may return at some point later, and try another item that is less potent. read more
