Pork stomach & chicken
Christine L.

Met a friend for lunch and got there right after opening. It was not crowded but started to get more filled as time went on. Cute waiting area with game and snacks if needed. Seated very quickly and got the lay of the land. Ordered on the iPad. It is not all you can eat so items can add up quickly. Items are usually delivered with the robot. The soup base came by a server. Staff is very nice and checks in occasionally without rushing. Pork stomach and chicken broth was very flavorful. This can double as a soup dish. Ordered wagyu which was buy one get one free. It's a good deal since a decent amount came. The Angus short rib wasn't bad either. Lobster isn't usually what I order at hotpot but added a touch. Taro was flavorful. Even though it's a la carte, one can get filled fast. There is ice cream, fruit and jelly to seal the deal. Got some cute toys for saying the magic words to the wait staff. Big clean open space. Enjoyed for lunch since it wasn't overly busy.

We really enjoyed the food! We've always enjoyed the hotpot in China! This Haidilao didn't disappoint! Service was very attentive! We enjoyed the restaurant very much!

My 1200th review goes to the Haidilao branch in Flushing! Date and time of visit: Dec 23, 2025 11:15pmEST After a long day of flying and traveling since 4am that morning, and landing in wintry New York, I was eager for hot Chinese soup. I enjoy visiting Haidilao branches around the world and have been to a couple in the Bay Area and in Taipei. But Flushing, Queens? Man oh man this has become my favorite US-based Haidilao spot I have visited so far! Open til 4am???? In a city that never sleeps, that checks out! Chose 2 soup bases: sukiyaki and pork bone I was very eager to try out the $20 Meat O'clock AYCE offering after 9pm! Turns out it's only 5 meat options: 1. Premium fatty Beef slices 2. Fiery pickled pepper chicken 3. Beef tripe 4. Handmade shrimp paste 5. Imitation crab sticks. Not the sexiest options. My favorite is the beef. Also got fresh duck blood (boil for 5 minutes), tofu skin fortune pouches stuffed with roe, and winter special dessert of warm snow mochi cakes stuffed with pumpkin. The waiter accidentally took it to the table across from me, and the couple sitting at that table were just as confused as I was, and realized it was for me, and told me that they had heard me ordering the dessert. From the sauce and dessert station, I got pickled pig ears, purple rice porridge, and jelly desserts! I headed back to my hotel around 1am absolutely stuffed and slept with a food coma.

I've dined at HaiDiLao twice after the pandemic, but my latest visit was for their new promotion - Meat o'clock. Meat o'clock features unlimited meat for 90 mins after 9pm Sunday - Thursdays. I made a reservation for 5 and mentioned a birthday celebration. We were presented cute signs and a capybara display for a photo opp at our table. There were 5 types of meat offered during Meat o' clock: fatty beef, shrimp paste, spicy marinated chicken, imitation crab sticks, and beef tripe. We ordered several rounds of each meat option but generally stick to the fatty beef and shrimp for taste and value. We chose 4 different broths: mushroom, tom yum, pork bone, and spicy beef tallow. Each of them were good in their own way. We really enjoyed the deep mushroom and the tangy tom yum broths. The spicy beef tallow was very spicy and definitely hit the spot. One thing to note about HaiDiLao is that not only do you have to pay for the broths (about $30) for a full pot, there's also an additional $4 per person to use the sauce bar. The sauce bar also comes with access to spicy pig ears, pickled kelp, fruit, and dessert. Overall, the food at HaiDiLao is definitely great quality but the AYCE aspect of it made it less enjoyable. Our dinner finally ended close to midnight and we were too stuffed to sleep. I would recommend HaiDiLao but eating so late is definitely not ideal for a weeknight.

This is an exemplary hot pot spot - the broth, the service, the food everything was really perfect. We got 4 different broths - the mushroom was favorite. Damn it was so flavorful it was almost like a gravy. The Tom Yum was another hit, but unfortunately it gets diluted a bit when they add broth. The pork bone broth had a huge pork bone in it. The Sichuan spicy might have been too spicy - it had a lot of oil in it. You can happily have a meal here without the sauce bar and still get plenty of flavor. The sauce bar has everything you could possible want - they even have ice jelly with solid accompaniments and soft serve ice cream. The Meat O'Clock special after 9pm on certain nights is worth it, currently $20/pp for unlimited choices of limited dishes. Make sure you come with big eaters to make it worth it. Haidilao gets high stars and its all well deserved - I am looking forward to coming back soon!

Happy Birthday Display

Located upstairs, there is an elevator if need be. The waiting areas are decently sized with games to entertain and refreshments while you wait. Inside, there is a lot of tables/seating, though the walkways are a bit tight when packed. The bathrooms are well stocked with amenities to freshen up. We had a reservation late night for Meat O Clock (Sunday-Thursday, after 9:00 P.M.). We were early for our reservation, but got seated quickly. We were here to celebrate a birthday, and they had an adorable birthday display set up at our table. The service is fantastic. They're informative, attentive, and friendly. Another table got an order of the dancing noodles, and it was cool to see the talent of the staff. We got aprons to prevent accidental splatters and spills. The sauce bar is extensive, which I like, especially since it's an additional cost per person. I do find that the broths are flavorful enough to forgo the sauces. We wanted to try a variety of broths, so we went with the 4 choice: -Sichuan Spicy: can really taste the mala, and if you're not careful, you get hit with that oil! Was a bit too much for me. -Pork Bone: added extra meatiness to the meat. It comes with the bone in it. It also has some tomato in it. -Mushroom: my favorite broth to get at hot pot. This is the best one I've had! It's got so much flavor and you can really taste it in whatever is cooked in there. I took this home (yes, you can ask for containers to take your broths and dishes minus AYCE home... you paid for it after all!) -Tom Yum: great spicy and zesty broth. It did get a little watered down with additional broth, so I would suggest not refilling the broth. The dishes came out quick! They come out on a cat robot, and although it does seem to get lost/stuck often, the staff is quick to rescue it. You can definitely get your AYCE going on. Meat O Clock Options (which seem to vary so check ): -Premium Fatty Beef: consistent good quality and cuts -Imitation Crab Sticks: typical imitation crab sticks -Beef Tripe: good texture and size for cooking! -Handmade Shrimp Paste: has some actual texture to it compared to other places. The addition of roe is interesting. -Fiery Pickled Pepper Chicken: tender and spicy! we did cook these in the spicy broths to maintain the spiciness and not add spiciness to the non spicy broths We also ordered a bunch of veggies and mushrooms (crown daisy, watercress, enoki, napa cabbage, tofu skin, bok choy, winter melon, etc.), all of which were fresh and tasty. I like the option to order half portions for the veggies that not everyone wants to eat or if you're dining solo. They also have ice cream (vanilla and matcha), and ingredients for ice jelly! Great way to end the meal. I can see why Haidilao is so popular! I will definitely be back to try their other meats. They can get pricey, but you can definitely get your money's worth.

Fantastic food, world-class service. The staff here makes you feel like royalty. The waiting room has games and complimentary teas, water, and snacks. The hot pot options are abundant and delicious. The whole place is clean, modern and sleek. Truly one of my favorite restaurants ever and a spot I hit yearly, if not more often. Highly recommend to anyone dining in Flushing!

Our party of 12 (10 adults and 2 children) visited Haidilao Hot Pot for a birthday celebration, and this was our first time dining here. The restaurant was spacious, clean, and well organized. We really enjoyed the sauce, snack, and dessert bars. The lunch special was an excellent value at $20 per person and included a soup base, one protein (beef, pork, or fish), vegetables, and noodles or rice. Our server, David, was attentive and friendly. We did run into an issue with the kids' meals. Since kids eat free, and based on other reviews as well as phone calls beforehand, we expected chicken nuggets to be available at the appetizer bar. Unfortunately, none were available that day. We were told multiple times by David and other staff that the chicken nuggets were being prepared, but after waiting over an hour, the kids' meals arrived with fruit, a small drink, and mini buns (which resembled nuggets) with ketchup. By that point, the kids were hungry and disappointed, as these were not chicken nuggets. When we asked again, we were finally informed that the nuggets had sold out. The staff did provide four manually deboned chicken wings, which we appreciated, but clearer communication from the beginning would have helped manage expectations. Aside from that, the adults really enjoyed the food. The tomato broth was especially delicious, and the meats and fish were tender and fresh. I also liked the pig ears appetizer, and the shrimp paste and fish balls we added were tasty. The desserts were good as well, especially the matcha and vanilla ice cream. We're deducting one star due to the kids' meal issue. Overall, the food and experience were great for adults, but better communication about kids' options would improve the experience.

You walk into Haidilao expecting that it's going to be your typical hotpot restaurant, except you're taken aback, because this is not your usual hotpot, it's a whole sensory experience. *AMBIANCE* We came here on a weekend and made reservations a few weeks in advance. The place is buzzing with energy, a cheerful chaos, and a waiting room filled with snacks and games as you eagerly wait to be called to your table. Once you arrive to your table, there's never a dull moment, as you'll find sights to see all around you. *FOOD* Hotpot heaven. We liked how we could choose 4 different broths, and then we were off to the races picking veggies and meats off the tablet left and right. Noodles dance, meats swish, shrimp balls bounce like they're auditioning for Cirque du Soleil. It's interactive dining at its finest, and also the only place where you can feel like a chef without actually knowing how to cook. *SERVICE* The staff here are very attentive, from the apron service, balloon making, the occasional noodle dance performance, it almost feels like they're trying to spoil you into becoming a loyal follower, and honestly it's working. A memorable experience all around! PRO-TIP: learn some of the secret phrases to receive some goodies!

Food: We got the split of the classy mala soup base and the tomato soup base. I could not even tell you the flurry of all the food and fun we had, plates of raw meats and veggie were flying at us like clockwork and it was all so good. What impressed me the most were the multiple stations surrounding the eating room with dessert, snacks, and dipping sauces. Overwhelming to a novice like me, but in the best way. A Disneyland of shabu shabu. Service: They are all so attentive and ready to assist at a moments notice. Never had an issue. Ambiance: So lively! Just a crowded establishment full of laughter mixed into jovial conversation, impromptu dance performances for your entertainment, and brewing cauldrons of hot spicy broth. This place is what hot pot places dream of growing up to become.

Hot Pot!

Haidilao must be the happiest place in Downtown Flushing! Something here just makes hot pot experiences a perfect 10/10. This is a la carte hot pot and you can expect better quality ingredients and broth which they absolutely delivered! The service here is excellent! My family came here on a weekday dinner just after 5:00 pm and there was no wait. You can make reservations or put yourself on a waitlist before you get there. This restaurant was a lot bigger than I expected - there is a dining room in the front of the restaurant and a bigger dining area in the back. Upon seating, we were handed an iPad to order hot pot broths, ingredients, and drinks. My little one was offered a complementary kid's meal which comes with fruit, chicken nuggets, and a drink, which was perfect for her. There are sauce and snack stations that everyone is able to go and get what you need. There is also bing fan (iced jelly) dessert stations that you can mix and match ingredients - this happened to our favorite part of the experience! I loved that both the sauce and dessert station have some suggested mix options as a guide for first timers. We got the Pork Bone Broth and the Golden Chicken (this was my favorite of the 2) - both were great! We mostly ordered seafood, vegetables, and meats - all were clean, fresh, and worked very well with the broths. My in laws do not eat beef but next time, I would absolutely come back to try their premium beef options!

Incredible Service 10/10

I love me a good hot pot. I can have it once a week. My sister who is not really Chinese (she's so ABC), recommended this place to meet up for lunch. I was shocked since she is not a fan of Shabu Shabu but she recently gave it a try and now she loves it. I'm like OMG, all those years of missing out. I have read a lot of amazing things about Haidiloa. There are 7 locations in L.A./SF and one in Flushing. I asked the waitress if she knows if one will be opening up in Jersey. She was sweet enough to take the time to ask her manager and inform me that yes, they are planning to in the next 2-3 years. Now that is incredible customer service. We went for the lunch combo $19.99. Seems like everyone else around us was going for this deal as well. You get a platter of veggies and one protein choice and rice or noodles. My sister chose the sliced fish and I got the pork belly slices. We also shared a few à la carte dishes...sliced Angus Beef, shrimp, corn, and tofu. I will say that these items were pricey and can add up. Ooh, make sure you leave a little room for the desserts at the bar. Lots to choose from. I was beyond excited for their drink menu. I got the Seven-Infused Jasmine Milk Tea. For all you Molly Tea fans, this one tasted just like one of their jasmine drinks. And it's only $4.95. Service is a solid 10/10. Waitress wore gloves to take the shell off the shrimps for us. She constantly came by to make sure everything was good. You will surely be well taken care of. We left a very generous tip. Overall it was an epic hot pot experience. Love love love all the little details like the cute aprons, bag for your jackets, little snack treats to bring home, hair ties for the ladies so you can tie your hair up and eat. Lol. There are even toothbrushes and toothpaste in the restrooms. Reservations are a must unless you like to wait 1-2 hours. I cannot wait until they open one in New Jersey!

Ordering the boiled chicken slices as an app was the wrong move. It tasted okay, as good as it sounds, but I don't think it was the best app option. The pork belly in mashed garlic was good, but I wish the cucumbers had been more chilled and fresh. I liked Uluh's version of this dish more. Next time I would try the boiled chicken in chili sauce or the crispy fish. The flavor and texture of the braised pork belly were amazing. The pork was tender and fatty. The prawns were fantastic and very garlicky, just how we like it! The rice was pretty good and actually had a decent amount of seafood, but I found the shrimp to be the same quality you would get from a takeout Chinese restaurant. The rice was also on the more steamed side, less on the dry side. All in all, I thought the food was decent, but the service was amazing and the vibes were also a plus.

We were seated promptly, since there was no one else waiting to be seated, and the wait staff was quick to arrive and get our items into the sacks (to keep our stuff from smelling like hot pot all day), and helped us place our order. We got two broths-- mushroom and spicy (mild heat). Y'all, the mild was too hot for us and we were scooping out the peppers out of the broth to make it manageable. The wait staff noticed we were suffering and said the trick to eating spicy hot pot is to dip it in oil, and even brought us some. IT WORKS. Anyway, 10/10. Great tasting food, helpful and caring staff, and overall, a very fun decor/vibe.

Anyone with a nut allergy beware of the chili in the sauce bar and for some of the meats, as I couldn't have those. We came with a big party of 12, and they were very accommodating, splitting the table and taking separate orders for three families. Let's just say each family ordered plenty. I only wish I'd snapped pictures of what the other families got. We started with the Lucky Six soup dumplings. They came out extremely quick, with just the right amount of broth, and the wrappers weren't so delicate that you had to worry about puncturing them pulling them out of the steamer basket. They held up well and tasted excellent. From there we ordered a whole bunch more. Think family-style portions, but more generous: - **Grandma's braised pork belly** - Super tender, with a flavorful sauce and quail eggs, not too salty. - **Spicy beef and tripe** - Served cold with very thin slices in a nice spicy sauce. It had a kick but wasn't overly hot. - **Peking duck** - We ordered a half duck, and it came with more than enough bao buns to build your own. A nice touch: since we were a big table, they also offered each of the 12 of us a complimentary ready-made Peking duck bun or soup dumpling, including the other two families. We all went with the duck buns, and they were excellent. - **Pan-fried noodles with pork, shrimp and fish** - The one miss. It was so saucy that the noodles were drenched and lost all their crispiness. - **Yang Chow fried rice** - Very nicely done, with big shrimp. These weren't the usual quarter-sized ones, more like half-dollar size. - **Soy sauce squid** - Cooked perfectly, not too salty and not overcooked to the point of being gummy. I also sampled from the other families' tables. Their dim sum dumplings were huge, and the honey roast chicken wings were excellent, crispy with a nice sweet glaze. For dessert, they brought us complimentary sweet soy milk soup with glutinous rice balls. It was sweet but not overly so, and it was awesome. One thing that was new to me: when the bills came, we could pay with Zelle, Venmo or cash. Great spot for a big group. I'd come back just for the pork belly, the duck buns and the soup dumplings.

As mentioned, it's a pretty tiny space with one large table that fits 8 comfortably, though probably 9 could fit if needed. Otherwise, there were some smaller seating arrangements. The service was friendly and efficient when it came to taking out dishes and our ordering process. For the table, they gave us some lukewarm water, which was refilled frequently when required. They asked about the spice level, and our host went with medium, which worked, with some of us clarifying that "mala" is fine. In terms of flavors, most dishes had a nice numbing sensation from peppercorns and had plenty of heat, but not so much that it overpowered any one dish. The prices overall might be slightly higher than some other places, but they make up for it with their portion sizes and also by including rice with all entrees. Our only appetizer was the $11 Smashed Szechuan Cucumbers. The cucumbers were sliced into slightly large pieces, and there was a nice sauce that had both heat and a mild black vinegar flavor. I found the ginger a bit light, but overall, it was refreshing and tasty and worked well with some other dishes, which arrived soon afterward. My favorite of the main entrees was the Spicy Shrimp for $32, which was in a giant pot with a good 14 or so large shrimp inside, if not more. Along with the shrimp, there were also potatoes, peppers, scallions, onions, and lotus root slices. The dish reminded me a lot of Mala Xiang Guo/麻辣香鍋/Spicy Dry Pot, which is one of my favorite Szechuan dishes. The shrimp inside were prepared perfectly, while the potatoes were soft and the lotus root had a good crunch. I would recommend this highly. The other most expensive dish was the $40 Xu Chu Braised Chicken, which also arrived in a giant pot. The chicken could be ordered braised or fried, and we got the former. The meat was on the bone, as expected, and tender, with the pieces in a very red broth. This was tasty, with the sour pickled pepper adding a nice extra flavor, along with the typical mala from the non-pickled peppers and peppercorns. A more typical dish, though not in a typical presentation, was the tasty Cumin Beef, which was $30. In comparison to most other spots, the beef was cut into larger slices. Usually, I haven't liked this before, as the larger pieces of beef weren't tender, but that was not the case here. Otherwise, there was a mix of vegetables, including the standard onions along with large pieces of pepper, both green and red. If I had to make a complaint, I wish the onions were also sliced thinner, as they lacked a bit of cumin compared to the meat. Another more typical dish was the $20 Szechuan Bacon, which was their version of Hui Guo Rou/回鍋肉, or Double/Twice Cooked Pork Belly. The pork belly was tender with only a mild chew, and the scallions added a nice refreshing flavor. The heat was there, but I found the douchi/black bean flavor a bit light. I didn't mind this, though, as it made it a bit less salty than usual, and there was plenty of flavor otherwise. The last of the more unique dishes was the Crispy Pork Ribs for $24. The ribs were lightly fried and tender, but some others found them a tad salty. As with other dishes, this came with the usual mix of peppers and vegetables. Finally, the last typical dish was the $13 Mapo Tofu. The portion was a bit smaller than other spots, but that makes sense, as this was the cheapest of all the mains. There was some sourness and a bit of heat, with my only complaint being that I prefer a slightly firmer tofu in this dish for texture, but that's a regional quip. Outside my personal tofu preferences, the flavor was good. They gave us some Bingfen/Sichuan Ice Jelly/冰粉 as a complimentary dessert at the end, which was a nice touch. The ice jelly had a mild sweetness from the brown sugar syrup, and it was refreshing. The toppings included the typical hawthorn/haw flakes on top for sourness, golden raisins for sweetness, and peanuts for crunch. The dessert made a fine ending to our excellent meal. Overall, we had a very good meal here, and I look forward to going back. I wouldn't mind trying their pig trotters, or especially their fish, among other things. I can see why they're popular.

Xu Chu is fantastic! I was plotting our next visit before we even finished this dinner. lol Soooo…read moremany great dishes on their menu! This restaurant is very popular! It's a rather small restaurant, with only one large round table, which comfortably seats 8ppl. Otherwise, there are square table of 2-4ppl. There was a constant flow of patrons the entire time we were there. Customer service and hospitality were great; very professional, friendly and efficient. Our shared menu: (We ordered everything "regular spicy", which, for me, was medium spicy but very spicy for others): ~ Smashed Szechuan Cucumbers ($11): fantastic! This is a cold, spicy appetizer. Crisp, flavorful and refreshingly delicious. ~ Xu Chu Braised Chicken ($40): this is a huge pot of chicken; the chicken can be ordered braised or fried. We ordered the braised, and it was delicious. Recommended! ~ Szechuan Bacon ($20): usually called Double Cooked Pork Belly in other restaurants. This was very good. It included lots of hot peppers and vegs. ~ Crispy Pork Ribs ($24): The fried pieces of pork ribs were perfection; albeit slightly greasy (it is fried, after all). This dish also included lots of hot pepper and vegs. ~ Mapo Tofu ($13): this was probably the most standard dish of the bunch. But still very good! ~ Cumin Beef ($30): most of the time, when I order this dish in other restaurants, it just includes the protein. This version had cumin Beef along with lots of hot peppers and vegs. Very good but the pieces of been were small pieces. ~ Spicy Shrimp ($32): this was a very generous portion of large shrimps (shell & head on). This huge pot was full of shrimp, hot peppers, potatoes, lotus root, and other spices. Recommended! ~ Rice (complimentary with each entree). ** They served everyone a complimentary refreshingly cool jelly dessert with Hawthorn flakes on top. This was the perfect way to end our spicy Szechuan dinner! The cool jellys cooled off your szechuan numbed mouth and the hawthorn flakes help with digestion. This was such a well thought out dessert! Kudos and thank you! As I mentioned before, they have a huge menu. I'm looking forward to a return visit to explore their other dishes! Recommended!!

The environment is clean, and staff was welcoming when I dined here on a Friday evening with other Yelp Elites. The restaurant filled up with people very quickly. I cannot remember having better Northeastern Chinese food anywhere. The food came with an amazing presentation, taste, freshness and quality. I am a huge fan of the Cumin Flounder, which is crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It is the best flounder that I have ever tasted in my life! The Beef Tenderloin in Brown Sauce is to die for. I loved the Minted Salted Egg Yolk and Sliced Pumpkin so much that I will come back here to order it for Thanksgiving dinner. If you can handle the spice, go for the Fried Squid Head with Spicy Peppery Sauce. It was the table favorite because most of us prefer the head or tentacles of calamari to the rings. The Molten Sugar-Crusted Yams and Dates were phenomenal. It came with a bowl of water on the side to remove stickiness from the serving spoon between helpings. We also feasted on the Sautéed Shredded Beef with Spicy Pepper, Cumin Lamb, Sliced Potatoes with Truffles and Salt and Pepper Shrimp. The pickled salad certainly tickled my fancy. TIP: Eat everything with chopsticks for portion control. Thank you Andie for putting this all together, and the birthday cake that Mike bought for you was a decadent surprise because it was so chocolatey and moist.
