This time we got the pork belly and galbi along with mul naengmyeon (which is the perfect combo in the summer with bbq) kimchi pancake, and fried dumplings. Everything was sooo good. Came here on a Sunday for dinner and just beat the dinner rush. When I left I saw a huge line so I would definitely try to get here earlier. It's a big place and can accommodate large parties. Their menu is huge and you can come indulge in KBBQ or their regular korean menu. I do think they're on the pricey side (similar to manhattan) but that's all places these days. They give a lot of variety for banchan and they refilled it for me without question. I did find an ant crawling in the broccoli banchan so... check before you eat. We got the marinated raw crab, cold noodles, la galbi, and bibimbap. I couldn't eat the raw crab cause I'm allergic, but my friends were obsessed with it. Still very much standing by my previous review on how service has declined since a few years ago, but wanted to drop my review here for their yukgaejang. Stopped by for lunch recently after a ski trip with my friends, and I was craving a hot soup/stew. Decided on the yukgaejang ($17.99) and it really delivered. The soup was piping hot, and so deliciously spicy. Portion size was generous for sure - it came with a heaping portion of beef, green onions, and glass noodles. I appreciate how the spicy oil is really well incorporated into the soup, so it didn't feel like I was only getting a spoonful of oil with every bite. Seafood pancake was also good - it was crispy, well seasoned, and they didn't skimp on the seafood. My recent dining experience definitely reaffirms that Hamh Ji Bach has some really great korean dishes, but the service is still lacking in comparison to what it was. read more

I believe we came on a Saturday or Friday night and the place was packed with another party waiting in line before us. Some of the pieces of meat also had that dated taste/indicator of lower quality meat. The hot stone plate it comes on stays hot longer than most so stay careful of touching it Bibim Nangmyun - comes with soup base on the side. It's on the spicier side so I'd be wary of mixing all the sauce at the bottom in until you're sure of what you can handle. Tastes extremely fresh and authentic. Side dishes/Banchan - excellent quality very fresh and well seasoned. Would say this is the best of what I tried Staff is all Korean. Clientele is half Korean half not. I would describe this place as classy and homey at the same time. Hahm Ji Bach offers a wide variety of Korean dishes including stove top BBQ and traditional noodle and rice dishes. We ordered the seafood pancake, seafood tofu soup, and bibim cold noodles as our appetizers. The aunties working there are very attentive and served us the pancake slice by slice onto our plates. As the main courses, we had two orders of pork belly and one order LA Galbi. I appreciate the ladies help us cook and cut the meat. It saves so much effort for those who just want to eat and enjoy. Get the thicker cut of pork belly, it has a much more tenderness and flavor. A Korean restaurant is not complete with all the banchan to go with your main course. All the kimchi and pickled veggies balanced the rich flavor of the bbq meats. It's always a good time going to a Korean family-style restaurant, especially when I'm greeted by an extensive banchan selection, soups and BBQ displayed on every table. We came here with BBQ in mind, so we strictly ordered korean bbq - since that is what they are known for, and in addition to seafood pancakes. I was pretty impressed with their banchan selection and how well it pairs with their Korean BBQ. My favorite was their tomato banchan variant. It was so good that I asked for another serving, however they told me they just ran out of it. I would say their banchan quality and selection are among the best, considering dozens of other Korean restaurants that I've been to on the East and West Coast. I would suggest getting at least the LA galbi and pork belly (thick cut) if you're going for BBQ. Their staff was attentive even during peak service hours; intitating small talk as they cut the meats while we ate.
