To be brief, not all modern-day H Salt franchises are as good as the originals back in the 70's. This one is as close as I've found. I got the London Special (fish x 2 plus 'chips') and it was plenty of food, cooked just right, well-coated in a correct batter, and served with malt vinegar () and tartar sauce (). It was delicious. Counter "service" sucks. When there is no wait, it'll take 10-15 minutes for them to deep fry your overpriced items. And they don't have the common sense or decency to tell you your order has been waiting because English is too difficult. The seafood is in bits and held together with excess batter. The owners are super nice and friendly. They also keep their restaurant very neat and in order. But honestly, the food looks better than it tastes. I ordered scallops and shrimp and they cut corners. They don't sell you real scallops and they cut their jumbo shrimp in half. For the amount of money I paid. I feel like they should use Real Seafood products and not imitation. Located in a small modest building on the corner; if you're driving and don't look, you might miss it. It's one of the few places that specialize in fish & chips. It's not like some places that have the fresh fish sitting out on display and then you pick and they fry it up. This is fish that has already been prepared with the batter, etc. There are like 5 parking spaces in a small lot of the side of the building. When you first walk in, you'll be greeted with a nice friendly hello. There are a handful of tables and chairs if you want to eat-in. I think many people get their food to-go. You walk up to the counter and check out the menu boards hanging overhead on the back wall. They have a lot of different plate specials to choose from. To see employees without masks, handling food and condiments was absolutely unacceptable. I will not be back any time soon. Parking was bad (to be expected with Covid takeout on the rise). No precautions were taken, no cleaning or wiping down of surfaces, and to top is all off, the food quality has declined from what I have grown to expect over the years. Salt. The management there is a hard working Korean family, who are so friendly and they really work quickly. It's your usual fish and chips. But the plates here are so huge, sometimes I can't even finish half of my plate. Not feeling like fish, they also have chicken and hush puppies as well. There's a liquor store across the street, if you want some brew to go with your fish and chips.
