Falafel plate and baklava is the way to go! Melissa from Ga

Falafel plate & Baklava is the way to go!! I'm currently on a job at the Swedish Cancer institute and is walking distance from main entrance. Delicious and very fulfilling! Their prices are great too for Seattle. Will be back!! Melissa from GA.

Falafel

After a long travel day and walking Pike Street we ordered take out from Gyro Saj. I had the falafel wrap which was amazing! Very flavorful and tender and lots of hummus and crunchy veggies. The staff were helpful and friendly. Very affordable as well. I am marking it for next time I'm in town.

Chicken Saj Shawarma

Fast casual place, bright and vibrant interior and they even had flower centerpieces on their tables. Service was quick, grab and go type place. We got the Chicken Saj Shawarma and the Gyro Fries which was a generous portion. The Chicken Saj Shawarma was average, nothing special. The signage outside said they have the best Gyro Fries, it was also just average. The meats were kind of dry. I wouldn't go out of my way to try this place but if I'm hungry and pass by, I'd stop here again.

Chicken Gyro Fries

Generous portions, quick service, and tasty food! While I generally opt for the other gyro spot down the street, decided to try this today and wasn't disappointed. Everything tasted so good and was cooked perfectly. Plenty of seating all around . I think I would stick to the other spot personally since this places' prices are just a smidge higher.

Veggie Saj

I've become addicted to their Veggie Saj! It's this amazing wrap with falafel and cauliflower. It comes with this amazing sauce too. It's a big portion so usually I eat half for lunch and half for dinner. Very consistent quality and smells amazing.

I got takeout from here for lunch and was pretty impressed! I got the falafel plate which was falafel, rice, a small salad, hummus, and pita. In the middle of lunch hours they were fresh cooking the falafel which I'd never seen before, they're usually pre made and kept warm. Everything was delicious and tasted very fresh; the lettuce was crisp, the hummus was tasty, the pita was warm. I think $16+ for a casual lunch is a little much but everything was great quality so can't complain!

Gyro Fries

Got this for takeout and i think it wasn't the optimal state of fresh by the time we ate it. The chicken shawarma was a little dry and the greek fries were a bit soggy. But definitely a hefty amount of food and it was still pretty good- just could've been better

This is one of my favorites in First Hill for a quick bite! The serving size is amazing for the price and it's a well rounded meal! I love getting the lamb and beef platter, but enjoy their gyros as well! They also have some interesting sodas like this Vimto raspberry/black currant sparkling fruit drink!

Great spot for a quick lunch. Lots of folks ordered online and picked up to go while we were there. There is a full vegan section with a variety of options. Some of the items on the menu are huge!!! Ask ahead of time if you're only looking for a small bite to get some direction. All the toppings are right in front so you can see what you're getting before you order. Food was really good and a great value for the quantity.

Chicken Shawarma Plate

Got the chicken shawarma plate. Rating this compared to other shawarma it's gotta be a 3/5 mid. Anything lower would be leaving you on the toilet. The chicken was dry compared to other shawarma I've had. Hummus was avg. rice had good seasoning. The pita was mid. The tzatziki sauce was bad, can't even call it tzatziki since didn't have cucumbers.

best gyro I've ever had. hands down and I've been all over the middle east, Greece and Egypt. how do they do it? the service was a bit snarly but the sandwich made up for it. I'll be back snarly service or not!

Andy N.

The servers/chefs were friendly and the restaurant itself was fairly clean. I got a Schwarma plate, Choclava and Balava. The portions were sizable. In terms of flavor, the hummus, Greek salad, and rice were nice and flavorful. I wished the flavoring of the meat had more Mediterranean spices. The meat tasted and had a consistency similar to a herbed flavor sausage. Overall a solid experience. I would recommend getting a schwarma wrap as opposed to a plate as it's cheaper and you'd get all the flavors in one bite.

Lamb and beef gyro plate and fries
Trish H.

Friends and I stopped by here for lunch after our classes and it did not disappoint! Service was friendly and quick. All ingredients tasted really fresh, I'd highly recommend the greek fries and the lamb and beef gyro plate! Portions were huge and I had plenty of leftovers. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some solid Mediterranean food that's quick and affordable!

Quick service. For Seattle criteria it's relatively good. They don't have Saj bread as they name may suggest.

From looking at the menu, I haven't seen too many of the items listed offered here in Seattle. This…read morewas exciting to me as I enjoy food from the Middle Eastern part of the world, and the entrees do look very enticing! We went on a Saturday around 2pm and it wasn't too busy at the takeout window. The restaurant is only takeout - there are benches right next to the takeout window, but there are only enough spots for 8 - 12 people (2-3 people per bench). The only other seating is at the nearby street seating offered by the neighboring bars, which I can see being restricted during peak hours. Parking can be very difficult if you plan on driving, there is only street side parking that is usually full, and nearby paid parking in lots. Service is fast, after we got our order, we only waited 5-8 minutes for our food. We got their recommended Soujouk (Beef) and Cheese Wrap for $16. The wrap is long, I would say about 13 - 14 inches long, and I can definitely seeing most people getting full after enjoying one of these. The flavors are nice and you can taste the spices from the sausage - I could taste cinnamon front and center with other earthy spices lingering in an aftertaste. The wrap is very decadent, the cheese is hearty and indulgent and that with the spiced sausage and textural difference with the cucumbers is pleasing. Do note with how indulgent this wrap is, you will accumulate a ton of oil in your wrapper as you enjoy it - a nap afterwards is in your future if you eat a whole wrap! I think that Yalla Seattle is a good stop to try these cuisines in a casual manner and the price is reasonable. There are some other items on the menu that kept my attention and I would totally revisit to try the other items offered by this restaurant.

The batinjan (eggplant) and labneh wrap here has now taken its place in my pantheon of best…read moreeggplant bites I've ever had. Yalla is a walk up window, and there are just a couple of benches right outside where you can eat, and according to other reviews you can also go to Montana Bar next door with your food. The menu is posted in a couple places right next to the ordering window, and it's pretty easy to parse. Almost everything there is what I'd consider a "portable food", meaning something you don't need a plate, fork, and knife to eat, which makes sense given that it's not a sit down restaurant. They have veggie saj, meaty saj, mezze, a few sides, and a dessert. I really like their concise menu. We tried the baba ghanoush ($9.5), which comes with saj on the side, a batinjan and labneh saj wrap ($12), and a halloumi grilled cheese (halloumi grilled inside saj, $13). As you can tell, the saj underpins everything at Yalla, and their saj is excellent. Warm, soft, flaky, and tearable, it is perfect for both dipping and wrapping and grilling. The batinjan and labneh wrap is bursting (literally) with tender grilled eggplant, a rich sauce, and tangy, creamy labneh. It is truly one of the most delicious eggplant dishes I've ever had. The halloumi grilled cheese definitely hits the spot, and is more filling than you think by looking at it. Baba ghanoush is so smooth and flavorful, and I love the pomegranate seeds on top! The folks who work there are super nice, very friendly, and food comes out quickly. Prices are very reasonable, and I will definitely be back to try some of their meaty saj! This place is going into my regular rotation, for sure.

This is a lively place, always filled with a lot of upscale looking customers. So the atmosphere is quite loud, but fun in a buzzing way. We were seated quickly, as we had reservations. Our server Charlie, was engaging, friendly and on top of things. We ordered the shared dips---olive tapenade, eggplant, hummus, tatziki with some warm pita triangles. They're all good and a fun way to start the dinner. We each had kebabs---lamb, chicken and mushroom. All good, moist and tender all poured with a jig of ouzo on a hot skillet. The onions in the bottom get browned and crusty, so good to eat. One had a lamb burger which looked juicy and served with delicious mound of fries sprinkled with rosemary. Food here has always been awesome. Skipped dessert as we had homemade cookies to eat at our next stop.

I understand that as a lunch rush, you want to focus on the Donair sandwiches but just have separate queues so different staff can serve different menu needs. I also didn't love that the Donair spit wasn't rotating so only one section of meat was heated until someone ordered. Seems a bit improper?

Thier menu is limited but that's because everything they do, they do to absolute perfection. My go to order here toggles between the doner kebab sandwich, chicken combo platter, pistachio baklava and ofcTurkish coffee. Every bite is heavenly.. the meat is juicy and perfectly seasoned.. the sauces are out of this world and the baklava is the perfect balance of flaky, nutty and sweet. There's a layer of pistachio inside the flakes as well and it's not just on the top. And The Turkish coffee alone is worth the stop. But what makes this place truly delight is the people behind it. It's run by an elderly woman and her daughter and they're the absolute sweetest. She greets everyone with the warmest smile, asks for your name and remembers it when she calls you.. the whole experience feels so personal and welcoming. The cafe itself is open, airy and full of natural light with views of the Pacific Ocean and the bustling Pike Place streets. From the moment we arrived, the **host and servers were warm, welcoming, and very polished**. The service felt attentive without being intrusive, and the staff did a nice job keeping the evening moving at a relaxed pace. The Royal Feast included several dishes that were brought out over the course of the evening. We started with **cinnamon pastries**, which were warm and a nice way to begin the meal. The spread also included **couscous, rice, chicken with lemon, Italian-style chicken, lamb, and kebabs**. The portions were generous and worked well for sharing with a large group. One thing to note: **vegetarians don't have many options here**, so if someone in your group has dietary restrictions, it might be a bit limiting. The meal ended with **tea**, which was a pleasant way to wrap up the dinner. Part of the experience here is the **belly dance performance**, but it doesn't start until **after 6:30 pm**. If you're expecting dancing throughout the dinner, you might be disappointed. The performance itself was okay, but the dancer mostly performs in the center area rather than around the tables, so it feels a bit distant. Personally, I've seen more engaging belly dance performances elsewhere. Parking is something to plan ahead for. The restaurant **does not have its own parking lot**, so you'll need to rely on **Seattle street parking, nearby garages, or paid lots**. Like many parts of the city, you may also see a few tents from unhoused residents while walking to the restaurant. If you're familiar with Seattle, this isn't unusual. Overall, the experience was **fun for a group dinner and worth the price**, especially if you're looking for something a bit different with entertainment included. That said, the food and performance were **good but not quite top-tier**. Still, it made for an enjoyable evening with friends.

Highlights for me was that lamb tagine with a huge portion of lamb and the chicken tagine with lemon and olives.
