It's so much bigger on the inside than it appears on the outside. I was pleasantly surprised. There are multiple menu options. I quickly decided on a bacon & cheese bagel sandwich. It was toasted & delicious. My friend & I sat near the door so while chatting, I was able to see the steady stream of customers walk in. Discovered this place while shopping next door at Albertson's...after shopping for groceries I was pretty hungry and thirsty so I stopped in. It wasn't really busy however I was unlucky enough to have to line up behind a party of like 15 people and they had a pretty big order. Anyways it gave me time to look over the menu - they had hot and cold sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, salads and pastries. Everything on the menu kind of sound good when you're hungry but I decided on a sausage and cheese sandwich. They have a nice variety of different breads too - but I opted for the simple whole wheat for my sandwich and for a drink I went for an iced latte with whole milk. My stomach was grumbling but thank god they were pretty quick with their orders. they brought out 15 people's orders and mine in about 15 minutes. It could be that i was starving but I thought the sandwich was really good - two sausage patties with melted pepper jack cheese and egg omelette on whole wheat toast. The Iced Latte was a little strong for me but it definitely woke me up. Overall I liked this bakery - good food and good service too. Glad to have stopped in. read more

I usually love their sandwiches however last week when I ordered my usual roast beef on sunflower bread with added sprouts, what I got was a shock. There was two thin slices of roast beef, a tiny bit of sprouts on one side of the sandwich and that's it. The bread was thicker than the sandwich. Some of their food is pricy for what it is. Their deli sandiwiches are fresh and taste great however some of my friends who ordered the cooked sandwiches found them to be small and not very filling. I recently ordered bagels and cream cheese for work: very soft and flavorful variety of bagels, variety of flavored, quite tasty cream cheeses, 10% discount off bagels if preordered the day before I particularly liked the cranberry and pumpkin bagels. I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could. I've heard good things about this place from my roommate and I was not disappointed. Walking in, it feels infinitely more welcoming and pleasant than most other sandwich joints. Dark wood furniture and pleasant decor. The menu is pretty extensive too--from myriad sandwich options to myriad bread choices. Subway has nothing on Grounds' selection. I ordered the tuna avocado sandwich on the 9-grain bread. When a nice older lady (sporting one of those iconic sweatshirts with Mickey Mouse in that sassy stance) brought out my order I immediately noticed the bread. It still smelled slightly and pleasantly yeasty. The tuna salad with sprouts and avocado tasted just as it should--I don't think there was anything monumental to note but that, in itself, is a good thing in a world of miserable sandwiches. I also had a caffe latte. Nothing notable here, which is a disappointment considering this place is called Grounds and there is a coffee bean in their sign. Maybe I'll go with an espresso or Americano next time, just to be sure. 4 stars for good tuna salad sandwich on toasted cracked wheat (has a bit of honey on top). 2 stars for their "caesar salad" -- $5.00 for salad that is made of a mix of iceburg and bits of scattered romaine lettuce - square croutons probably from a box and salad dressing in a bag (literally!). I guess this place is a bakery - I would think they make croutons fresh?! Apparently not. Who has paid $5.00 for a caesar salad made of iceburg lettuce?? c'mon now. That got me really frustrated. DON'T GET THE CAESAR SALAD! Their sandwiches, on a lighter note are great! Bread is good and thick so you get a hearty portion. I usually just get half a sandwich with soup or salad -- I know better to just get a soup instead of a salad. It gets busy during lunch 12-1. i was actually surprised at the huge menu and size of the place! from the outside, it looks pretty tiny. but once you go inside, it's a full size restaurant. we came here for lunch around 1:30pm and it was pretty full but not overly crowded. you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. it took less than 5 minutes to get all of our meals. 3 bagel sandwiches and 1 pizza. not bad on speed. and the guy that brought us our food was very friendly. i think it may have been the owner? i ordered a smoked salmon bagel and it was very good! the bagel was fresh and not very expensive. they could have added a little more smoked salmon. two tiny thin slices. my sister ordered an artichoke pizza on whole wheat crust. very very good! i'll probably get that next time too. this place is more than just a place for coffee and breakfast! i also noticed a private room in the back? seating for 8-10 people? not sure what that was...but maybe for a "private lunch"? a very good for families and kids! read more

Wow! Amazing pastries! Bagels! Sándwiches and coffee! Grounds is simply an amazing coffee loving, morning people magnet. Located in a shopping center, there is plenty of parking. Big shop so you will def have plenty of seats available. Service is friendly and food is yummy. I simply cannot get away from he sugary bagels they bake. They are addicting. I love Grounds!!! They honestly have the very best bagels I've ever tasted. The sandwiches are awesome, especially the breakfast omelette sandwiches and the cheese veggie sandwich. Not what I expected and I wish there was outdoor seating. To compare it to something, it's very similar to a Panera bread. The sandwiches are good, but nothing special. It's priced fairly. It's really just right down the middle experience. If I am hungry and I am near, I may stop here in the future, but there was nothing home to right about and I don't live close enough to come here on a regular basis. Been here several times and food is always good. I've tried something different each time, with no disappointments. Everyone that helped us was really nice, although the girl at the counter seemed a little out of it. When we went to pick a seat, we found a booth that was kinda dirty, but someone noticed and came over right away to clean it without us having to ask. This time I had the artichoke panini, with a side of Lay's Salt & Vinegar chips. Sandwich was sooooo good, ingredients seemed really fresh, and chips went perfectly. The Hubs had a salad which was very fresh but said the roll that came with was too "crunchy". I also like that Grounds has a variety of teas. They have 2 different fresh brewed iced teas and 1 machine with the Gold Peak stuff. There are also several fresh brewed coffees and a counter where you can order smoothies and espresso drinks. It looks like they have a lil private room behind the drink area, but I didn't really investigate. Maybe next time! read more

I had the tuna melt on sourdough bread and it's savory. There were celery bits in there so it added zest to it. Their bagels were very light. It was "toasted bagel" but I was surprised it was not crunchy, I thought they didn't toast it enough. Nonetheless, it was very, very good. Took some bagel home to go...cinnamon bagel 5*, cheddar bacon bagel 5*, onion bagel 5*... U need not put a lot of cream cheese because it's very tasty just by itself. What I ordered: Breakfast sandwich #13 turkey sausage patty w/ omelet, cheddar cheese on an onion bagel. It was really good. The sausage patty has onions, spinach, and is seasoned. I could tell the patty is made there fresh and isn't some frozen turkey patty. I read in a review that the bagels here are more of a bread consistency rather than a "bagel" consistency and I'll have to agree with them on that because the onion bagel was super soft. We have been coming to Grounds since it has opened. It usually gives you amazing customer service with a mom and pop feel, however, the last few weeks have been nothing but short of that homecoming feeling. Grounds is our place of choice for breakfast before school. We alway order online so that I can ensure my order is ready and I can get my kids to school on time. Our past 3 visits, our orders were either late or wrong. All three orders were serviced by Karissa, who is extremely LACKING in the area of customer service. First, she made my son's smoothing wrong and instead of acknowledging the mistake and apologizing she insisted I ordered it wrong, even after I showed her my online order. Today, my order wasn't ready at the order time and my kids were late to school. I had the unfortunate luck of witnessing her being rude to ANOTHER customer whose order wasn't ready and then apparently cold. Karissa's demeanor and attitude was rude and condescending as the man clearly was trying to get his kids fed and to school on time. He order three drinks along with his food and came back to leave them because they were all COLD. Karissa rudely apologized and told him "she hopes his day gets better." This behavior was witnessed by many and there were probably 4 other people patiently waiting for their LATE orders. Grounds is going to lose customers because of the service that is being provided by this ONE person. I for one will leave a few minutes earlier to find another breakfast spot. It's not worth it being treated with HORRIBLE customer service when there are SO MANY OTHER places to eat! read more

I do agree with other yelpers who've mentioned that they frequently run out of product here. But honestly, SO WHAT! everything is good, so there's always plenty to choose from. I had these bagels at a friends house and boy are these the best bagels I have ever had. I don't my bagels anywhere else! They are so light and airy and more importantly, freshly made! My personal favorite is the Cinnamon Sugar bagel - it's got this glaze on it from the sugar on top. You can't beat it. I love my bagels with a light cream cheese and just a little of it - the bagel is the best part so you want to enjoy that the most. I also love their jalepeno bagel as well. But really, all of the bagels are good. It's nice to come in and grab a couple of fresh bagels to go, and the staff is friendly too. Grounds has been an main go-to for me personally for the last several years. I love meeting friends there for breakfast. Spacious dining area. Also there is a private room in the back for meetings or study groups. I utilized that room for many hours during Nursing School with my study group while we kept ourselves nourished with delicious sandwiches. read more

Yummm! We just had very tasty treats for late breakfast at grounds. I had avocado toast on cheddar sour dough & added tomatoes & my bf had an omelette bagel sammie. Both were really good. I read others' complaints about service but the young woman who helped us & others all seemed very pleasant & helpful. I'd recommend this place. We will go back. I have been coming to this sandwich shop for many years (meaning before highschool- so for a total of about 8-9 years, when it was a lot smaller and had pictures of sandwitches and pickles everywhere)! Its right across from Millikan High school and that is how I found this delicious bakery. The morning is the best time to get any of their baked goods (bagels, crossaints, cookies, muffins, and loaves of bread, all made fresh! ) The only thing is, you have to get them early because some will sell out faster than others, and once they are gone, they are gone for the day! I personally love their cinnamon sugar bagel or pumpkin bagel, toasted with butter. And I am never disappointed with their service, quality of food or prices! My favorite= the roast beef and chedda, on white or potato bread. I love GROUNDS! The only thing is, if you are in a rush and want to beat the crowd (and trust me the lines at times can get long during lunch time) then call ahead!
