Excellent food and super friendly staff..Great ambiance for families with kids. Comfortable seating touches Mexican interior highlights. The menu is clubbed with both subtle and spice lovers..I haven't found a better place than this around Katy .. I have been here about 3 or 4 times and compared to the other locations the food, wait time and bar service is terrible. Parking is extremely limited. Ordered a skinny margarita grande size. The description says served with a splash of Topo Chico. However, at least half of the glass was clear Topo Chico on top. The flavor was awful and didn't even taste like a margarita. Sent it back thinking the bartender made a mistake, but the replacement one was just as awful. Better Tex-Mex than Pappasitos, and for half the price!!! Saw the great reviews and I drive by frequently and always seem to see a packed parking lot. Did my research ahead of time and signed up to be an "insider." You pay $25 for this but they give you a $25 credit to eat at the restaurant. Since I knew I would eat here at least ONCE I signed up. Next I downloaded the Tex-Amex Insider App and checked in online to get on the wait list early. An hour and a half later we showed up and only had to wait a COUPLE MINUTES for a table. The brand new building is amazing. Tall/high ceilings with lots of windows for light. Booths give you a private feel despite the large building. Service was prompt and very attentive, anticipating our needs. I ordered the seafood enchiladas (shrimp and crawfish tails in cheese and a wine sauce) and my wife ordered the tacos al pastor (huge plate that she ate half of). Most dishes were around $12. Free hot and thin chips served right as you sit down (with two kinds of salsas) and free soft serve ice cream cones. Food was delicious!!! Gringo's had their grand opening yesterday (11/10/20) & we thought it would be a good idea to show up around 4:40pm. Happy hour is Monday through Friday from 2-6 & I wanted Margaritas. The parking lot was packed, but we were seated immediately. Every other table is closed because of COVID, and it was very reassuring. I also noticed that every single employee was wearing their mask correctly & I've never seen 100% compliance from anywhere. We had 2 waitresses because it's so new & they were great! They also told us about the membership card that actually ends up saving quite a bit. When we agreed to purchase one, Dusty, the manager, came by and chatted with us. He's very personal and we felt like valued customers. We both ordered combo plates and they were freaking delicious! I can't remember the names, but my boyfriend did say his burrito had the best fajita meat he'd ever tasted. I tried a piece & Ohmygoodness!!! I also ordered margaritas and they were very fairly priced, especially during happy hour. The chips come with salsa and green sauce and were both delicious. I can't wait to return! On our way out, there was some promotional wheel to spin for gifts. I was sure I'd get a koozie, but actually won a $10 gift card! My boyfriend spun too & yup, he also won a $10 gift card! We came here for our Father's Day lunch and it was packed! There was a 45 minute wait to get a table so we just put our name on the list and went to Costco while we waited. The food was well worth the wait! The restaurant interior is really cute and has a nice family vibe. The chips were really crispy and delicious. The pico de gallo i got was half a spoon and the tortillas they serve are simply nasty ! How difficult is for these guys to understand the tortilla is basic in every plate !?!?
