It's really rare that I dislike everything that I've ordered from a restaurant, but I really disliked everything. I got the sesame chicken with rice, egg rolls and their noodles. I ate one egg roll, had a couple of bites of the chicken and a couple of bites of the noodles before throwing everything in the compost. Breaks my heart to waste food like that, but I just couldn't do it. The chicken was overly fried - very little meat inside the fried shell. The sesame sauce was so overwhelming and salty, I couldn't stomach it. The egg rolls were soggy. And the noodles just had no flavor. I'm really disappointed to have not only wasted my money, but the food as well. Maybe this was an off night, but I won't be ordering from here again. read more

It's rare for me to choose a new place for some delivery food. It often ends up not hitting the spot when I'm really hungry. This was *not* the case for grillbird. Every thing was incredible. I ordered chicken katsu, sesame chicken, teriyaki chicken, cucumber salad, Mac salad, cabbage salad and one of each sauce. I will absolutely order from here again. The portions were sizable, the food was presented beautifully in nice packaging and I loved every part of every dish. If you're like me and have a hard time trying out something new, give it a try! I also called to ask about my dairy allergy and they said only the nori ranch contains any dairy at all! So super friendly for people with gluten or dairy intolerance. Have to say that we were rather disappointed. Ordered a chicken teriyaki, a chicken and pork combo, and a side of greens. The pork was fine: tender, medium juicy, but basically tasted like any other braised pork shoulder. If it wasn't for the sauce that came on the side, I wouldn't have thought it to be teriyaki at all. The greens were actually pretty good. Tender and flavorful, if maybe a tad oily. Mixing them in with rice is the way to go to soak up some of the oil. However, the big problem was the chicken. Both orders had chicken that was tough, stringy, and super dry. Based on others reviews, it seems like that we might be the outlier, but wow that was bad. And it wasn't like the place was really busy. At 4:00 in the afternoon, there was only a handful of people in there. We might give them another try, but there are a couple of other West Seattle teriyaki places that have very good chicken and we're likely to go there first. read more

We emailed in for take away and everything about it was super simple and super tasty! They were slammed and handled it with the professionalism and thoughtfulness other restaurants could learn from. Holy!!!!! This is some good food. Wow. I'm literally going through a breakup, so I haven't eaten in a day or so. Finally felt like today was the day I need some substance, so I decided to finally try this place and man... I'm so happy. The comments about the chicken being JUICY and so perfectly seasoned are NOT dramatic. Even my top 10 places give me dry chicken from time to time. This was not the case. Also!!! I asked for soy sauce (NOT needed, it's so good) and they were out and offered me an extra sauce! Very kind, love some good customer service. Grillbird is a really elevated take on Teriyaki that I can't stop craving. I've been very happy with the pork teriyaki & chicken katsu combo I usually get. The egg rolls have a great flakey and crunchy wrap with fresh flavorful filling.. and like everything I've gotten here that is fried, it isn't very oily and heavy. The salad is a great healthier option that always has fresh green lettuce and a tasty dressing as well. I also can't get enough of the Mac salad. The service has been great as well.. We do teriyaki at least once every other week for weeknight dinner. So I was naturally super excited to see they had protein options on their menu other than the usual chicken, pork, beef offerings. I had my eyes set on the Ebi Katsu Sando and I was counting down the minutes to get home and try this delicious sounding burger-wich. The first bite was a smack in the face with a horse lick sized sodium bomb. It was so salty!! But maybe it was a bad bite? The katsu had that satisfying crunchy bite to want to give it another go. So I took a big swig of soda and bit in again.. ughh. Definitely should not have done that. Inedibly salty I got heartburn after. It was thrown out and was I was left hungry and very disappointed. Just okay cabbage slaw did not make things better. The order of beef sukiyaki was filled with about a third meat of the entire order. Upgraded from 2 stars to 3 stars for cleanliness, covid precautions, service. Food was not something I would care to try again. read more

Oh my gosh, this was the best teriyaki I've had in years! The food was perfect and obviously made with care and love. My teriyaki pork had a grilled pineapple in it, yum! Everything was tender and had great grilled flavor. It came with rice AND Mac salad! My order was ready right on time and it was so well organized, I'm super happy with all of it. Horrible I paid almost 60.00 for salmon and chicken, the staff said how good it was and normally a line that we would normally have to wait because they are so good. So today was are lucky day no line, well, the salmon they gave us was burnt, horrible!! How can a restaurant serve burnt food !! I mean the hole bottom of the salmon was absolutely black they didn't even try to scrape off the burnt skin. The place appears tidy and well organized. The presentation of boxed entrees is excellent, very appealing, and the portions are substantial. Staff, well the tall younger gentleman was very professional and attractive. I ordered 3 of their signature teriyaki chicken boxes and 1 chicken Katsu box to go. The chicken was well marinated and flavorful, however I would ask them to separate the sauce in the future which I found overwhelmingly sweet. I would love them to consider a wild salmon entree (sauce on the side) at a market price. The cleanliness and boxed presentation of food items was exceptional. The teriyaki sauce too sweet and overwhelming imho. Portions are generous and the price point very reasonable. I will return to try other entrees. I'm so sad to do this but just a suggestion. Maybe busy nights turn off delivery apps? I ordered through uber pick-up and it quoted 15-20 mins, I've now been waiting over an hour. I totally understand being busy but the workers seem highly stressed and to much work for the amount of orders coming in. I was impressed with the food we picked up tonight. The flavors were really distinctive - not the same old teriyaki you can get anywhere. We got the spicy versions of chicken and tofu, and they had a lot of flavor, while not being super hot. The noodles were surprisingly good too. Nice balanced dinner. We will be back! read more
