I was there on the day of their grand opening, Eaten everything on the menu. for that Type of restaurant, they are in a category all by themselves. First-rate high Quality food reasonably priced. They don't deliver to my area. I do a lot of pick up business it's well worth the drive over there. However it's a real challenge trying to get through on the phone and place an order. I agree with the consensus of my fellow Yelpers,Then as now their customer service sucks. and all it takes is a little bit of tweaking. For example they should operate with multiple lines that roll over with a hold feature. Pete's sake please train someone to properly answer the phones. One day angel face wanted some barbecue from the grill master "I'll buy you fly" after two hours she was able to get through and place the order. The total time it took from conception to ingestion over 3 1/2 hours. That's when I realize how Under rated grill master is, angel face doesn't suffer foolishness and incompetence well. 4 1/2 stars for the food, two stars customer service. The food here is great but I must say that I am very disappointed with the customer service I received today. For the first time, today I had to use DoorDash because I don't have my vehicle. I made a human error and chose chicken cubes with shrimp picadinho instead of pork. I called them a minute after I submitted my order and I was put on hold for a few minutes. Once he gets back to me I explained I made a mistake on my order and I would pay the difference if I had to. He says that he can't change my order because they have already started making it and if I had called right away they could've changed it (which I did but I was placed on hold). I told him I that I did call right away and he continued to say that he is sorry but he can't change it. So now I paid almost $20 for something that I won't be eating and when I tried to cancel on door dash it said that I would not be getting a refund for the food. So people... don't make human errors while ordering from this place. And sadly this will be my last time ordering anything from Grill Master. read more

I moved around the block from this place and found myself getting ribs and flan here twice a week. The ribs are so juicy and tender they don't need sauce, and the pastries are homemade (and rich af). It's family owned, so you could tell they care about the details. Best BBQ in Bloomfield, hands down. read more

The food is hit or miss. Sometimes you meal is outstanding and sometimes it's so-so. I got the caramelized salmon one time and it was absolutely delicious! The grilled food is always good, they cook on wood instead of gas. Then another time I got the steak and shrimp salad and the steak was nothing but leftover fat scraps, very disappointing. Don't try to order by phone because you either get a busy signal or it just rings until you get the answering machine. You basically have to go in to order your food. Also, unless you enjoy eating around chaos, take your food home. The waiting/eating area is very small and every time I've been there, it was very noisy and crowded. p.s. The food here is really good and simple. Grilled meat with the choice of vegetables, rice, or fries. You can also just buy the meat if that's what you want, they also sell other sides like tuna salad etc. the quality of their food is A-1. I've never had a bad experience yet. The customer service at grill master is horrible!! My boyfriend went in there placed an order waited for about 40 minute.People that came in after him where leaving before him. The lady at the counter calls him up nd gives him what he assumes was his order.. when he gets home opens the tray it's not his order,he calls and tells them they hung up on him and refuse to pick up the phone when he is calling back. I decide to go back to the store with the phone. Soon as I get in the door nd try to explain what happen they start yelling nd telling me that my boyfriend picked up the wrong order nd he wasnt paying attention,he had headphones on which I knew was a lie because he doesn't wear headphones. I left the food nd told them we didnt want it. I told my bf what happened he said lets go back because they are lying the guy with the headphones and green shirt left before him. We confronted them nd let them know it was the wrong person they were yelling at us then finally the lady takes the money out of the register slams it on the counter nd tell us to have a good night. Great Portuguese style cuisine. Grilled chicken, beef, pork and ribs; great fish and sea food entrees. All in generous portions at unbeatable prices. I order dinner for my wife and myself last night and when I got home I found that my pork was smothered in hot sauce that I did not ask for. All I could smell or taste was the vinegar which overwhelmed everything else. My wife's chicken was fine but mine was inedible. I don't know if this was meant as a joke or was a simple mistake but be warned to make sure you order no hot sauce if you go there. Better to add your own later to taste. I love this place. It's pretty cheap and the ribs are delicious. They are juicy and very well flavored. The rice is pretty good. I always leave content after eating here. The desserts are really bad, so skip that. The chicken used to be good; the ribs are the only reason why I come back to this place. read more

Most of the time service is quick and precise. I would define the ladies at the front as very "Jersey" to the point. They get you in and out. They are friendly in a complicated way. No they may not give you a smile, but they will have your food ready when you come and take care of you quickly. I would never order steak here if you like your steak cooked medium. They made me another steak because mine came well done. The manager explained to me that the steak cooks by itself when the to go foil is placed over it. She demonstrated it to me and she was right.
