The most INCOMPETENT garage I've ever encountered. We brought our Subaru to Greg's for a simple brake fix. Immediately after their "repair," the tires reeked of burning rubber and the car shook violently on the road. When we returned, they blamed "faulty calipers" -- the same calipers they had installed -- and refused any partial refund, stating they "DON'T DO REFUNDS." What reputable shop refuses refunds for unsafe, poorly done work, especially on brakes that can seriously injure or kill?! We went back a third time because the brakes still made noises at every stop. Instead of inspecting anything, Greg took my husband on a "test drive," speeding to 50 mph and slamming the brakes in a whiplash‑inducing stunt meant to intimidate rather than diagnose. He insisted the brakes were fine. They were not. Soon after, the front wheel made a loud metal‑on‑metal scraping. A second opinion from another shop confirmed our fears: Greg's people had done the worst brake job they had ever seen. They even questioned whether the "new" calipers we paid for were new at all -- the brakes looked two years old, not two months. Greg has ignored calls, refused refunds, and offered zero apology. He only responds to Google reviews. The customer-focused values he advertises on his website are nowhere to be found in his actual business. I'm warning others: DO NOT RISK YOUR SAFETY OR YOUR WALLET at this shop! read more

Came to Greg's to diagnose and find a coolant leak on my truck. They got me in quickly and they have great customer service, including a drop off ride service so you can get to work or back home (note, they don't offer a pick up ride service yet, but they should!). I didn't like how they charge a $180 diagnostic fee, whether they find an issue or not. In my case, they couldn't pinpoint my exact coolant leak but they found other lingering problems that needed fixing, so I appreciated that. They are on the higher end for fees, and I haven't came here enough to know how good the mechanics are, but they seem fairly good so far. Moral of the story, I'll come back. read more

Had vehicle "inspected" by this shop after an accident. Specifically instructed them to provide an analysis of damage and recommended repairs in order to determine if the vehicle was worth keeping. Was told damage was minor but vehicle needed new hoses, brakes etc. A couple thousand dollars later my son picks up vehilce and it immediately overheats. Sent vehicle back to Gregs and was then told vehicle had been in accident and front frame was jammed into the radiator. Greg's stated our son must have wrecked the vehicle after the repairs were performed. Heres the thing, our son was with us OUT OF STATE for the holidays the entire time until he took possession of the vehicle which failed immediately. They took care of me promptly and were able to get new tires installed quickly. The tires are very nice and not only included a warranty but also roadside assistance and some tire maintenance! I took my vehicle to Greg's Garage to check a noise. They kept my vehicle for 6 days. They did not address that problem, but presented me a bill for a long list of unauthorized repairs in the amount of approximately $1,600.00 including a new battery. They did not replace the battery and years later my original battery is still in my vehicle and just fine. The charges were reversed by my bank. I took my vehicle to another garage, and the noise was diagnosed in less than 5 minutes, and it was a power steering pump that was replaced the same day for $500.00. We took my son's 2015 Ford F150 to be serviced prior to leaving for college and a long road trip. They told him that the water pump needed to be replaced which we didn't question because it is an older truck. They quoted him over $3,500 to fix a less than $200 part. I have been going to Greg's Garage for years. This past month I took my truck in for brake squealing. Their report recommended upper and lower ball joint issues, it said my front hubs had play, rotors had hot spots and were warped, and that I needed new brakes and rotors to get the squeaking to stop, and the wheel bearings needed packing. Michael Wraught was my the Advisor that helped me. The report I was sent had nothing on it about price. At a minimum he said I should get the wheel bearings packed prior to getting new tires (which I did need). Upon picking up my truck I asked about the price for the wheel bearings and was told $1,200.00. That seemed high to me so I got a second opinion. The second opinion told me that other than tires I didn't need anything that Greg's Garage recommended. Several days later I got a text from Greg's Garage asking me how the work was that they had done. I replied letting them know that they didn't do any work and that I didn't need any of the work they recommended. I have not heard anything more from them. Needless to say I was very disappointed given how well they used to treat me. read more

Just a quick shout out to Mike @ Greg's Garage. Took a car in with an oil leak. Mike came out and took a peek under the hood. Said it was probably just the drain plug gasket and said to take it back to where we got the oil changed. Sure enough, a quick 5 minute fix and no more oil leak. Mike could have taken the car in and run all the diagnostics just to find the same issue. Appreciate that he was looking out for us. Will definitely get all our business going forward. read more

I don't even know where to begin! Let's start with day one, I took my car in thinking it was a muffler issue and trust me I know how my car sounds. I had an appointment for a diagnostic at 9 so I dropped my car off, I did checked in about noonish and they still hadn't look at my car. By the time I actually heard from someone it was almost the end of the day. Mind you I had to call myself again, I found out it was my catalytic converter. He said he call back with the quote and how long it takes to fix it, I was like I need to know. Well we just went down there and the finally told us, and it was pricey. It took almost 4 days to fix, with it being pushed back and me calling asking for follow up, not getting anything from the shop. Picked up the car and they assured sound was gone. I drove it and the sound was there, called back and asked if we can ride with a mechanic, they agreed. Well the mechanic was cocky and says he knows Chevys and this is how they sound. He did say they are rebuilding one and will compare and call us back, to see if that car had the same sound. Never did!! They were just done with us! Well took it to another shop, and guess what they found the problem and fixed it, even waived the diagnostic! Well I have taken other cars to this shop since, cause they have cared and much better customer service. Don't go to Greg's Garage, you are dollar signs, not a customer. As a family, we have trusted Greg's Garage with our Prius and my GMC. Always seemed on the up an up, now the trust and loyalty is broken. I had my 1995 GMC serviced from Greg's garage on March this year, it took almost 2 weeks. I had a appointment for a LOF, and to have my brakes serviced and general inspection of the truck prior to adding a lift from Truckenvy. I have video from Truckenvy showing the new ball joints that Greg's garage installed last July 2020. THEY ARE SHOT. I had Truckenvy finish the job. not including the alignment. I AAA to Greg's garage. More time passes. and I get a call saying the ball joints are fine. After showing Lance, the video Truckenvy took He demanded I look at a copied piece of paper as to how THEY test ball joints. After much loud words, Lance admitted that the reason the ball joints were like that, Is because. THEY ARE HARD TO REACH,........? So just because I had a LOF done on March 11 2022, does not guarantee the grease zerts will be filled or your vehicle even done correctly. As I was attempting to retrieve my vehicle. Lance, told me straight out not to return. I have a 3 year 30,000 warranty with this company, am I totally screwed once it brakes fail, And the cherry on the Sundae. I called Greg's Garage the beginning of Thanksgiving week to see if they could help me to determine why the heat in my daughter's 2005 Mitsubishi Montero was not working. (It's old, right, so why would it work?) They told me to bring it in the next day. Based on my initial phone conversation, I expected they would be done and have an estimate by the end of the following day. I never received any follow-up calls. It ended up being the following week before we picked up my daughter's vehicle. I drove her to work and picked her up from her job at Subway for three days. GG ended up giving me an estimate close to $2,700 to fix her heater. Something about spilled chocolate milk on the heater core. Because of the extraordinary expense, we decided to wait on that fix and potentially save up to have it fixed in the future. Fortunately, someone in the neighborhood recommended that I try Andy's Automotive. Since this was my third time getting an estimate, I was hopeful we'd get a price lesson than GG. I dropped my daughter's vehicle off on Jan. 2 in the early morning at Andy's Automotive and actually caught Andy walking in to work in the morning. By 10:30, Andy called me and said he flushed the heater core and the heat was working just fine. The total cost: $166. Moral of this story: Call Andy at Andy's Automotive. He's not only nice, he is honest and will do what he can to fix your vehicle efficiently and affordably! read more

***Nightmare scenario. Avoid this place at all costs! *** -very expensive work for a simple job -it took 3 days to flush my radiator coolant and replace the thermosat ($650 total charge just for that). -diagnosis charges are not applied towards repair cost ($175 to tell me what I already knew with an ODB2 scan I did). -was told numerous times my car would be ready only for them to delay again and again. -I showed up at shop At 11am on the final day of the ordeal with mention the car would done by that time. Didn't end up getting the car till approx 1pm and had to wait at the shop. 3 days to flush coolant and install a thermostat! Insane. -when I showed up at the shop the guy in the office said my car was being test driven after the service but my car was still clearly sitting in the parking lot. -was told they needed the car to get to operating temp as a final buy off and that it would be up to 15 miles when in fact my car had a total of over 50 miles was driven by the garage. -from the time I got to the shop 2 hours transpired from the point when they said my car was being test driven to the time I actually got the car back. why keep your customer waiting 2 hours when all you need to do is get the car to normal operating temperature? Clearly they were rushing to start the work at this time Because it doesn't take that long for a test drive. - before I left I inspected their work. A tab holding the wire harness near the thermostat was broken by mechanic and not replaced (Could be detrimental to wiring and function of component if harness bundle is loose). Yes the car is old but the worrying thing was that this wasn't communicated or the mechanic is overlooking a simple check. Things are expected to break with time and I pointed this out to Greg's garage and so they came out with a zip tie to secure the loose wiring after the fact! -finally got on the road to travel home (long trip) and when I fueled up at the gas station 35 miles later I noticed coolant leaking from the area of repair! the clamp on the coolant hose was not situated properly. The coolant was leaking out at the clamp location at a rate of a drop every 4-5 seconds. - I immediately went to a different shop in Carson City and they admitted terrible workmanship by Greg's garage. - The Carson City mechanic felt so bad for me that they fixed the problem by replacing the hose clamp with a better one and topped off and bled my coolant for FREE! This whole experience made me feel very uneasy about the quality of work by Greg's Garage. They did not make me feel at ease at all about what was being done With major loss of trust. I could have had a catastrophic engine failure if I hadn't noticed the coolant leak. read more

I took my car in to get the air conditioning diagnosed and fixed and my front suspension checked because it was making a grinding sound when I would sharply steer to the left or right as I start to take off. I took my car to Greg's Auto for reasons being that my AAA Membership gives discounts on labor and I heard good things about this garage. Fast forward: After 5 days I get my vehicle back and the starter worked well and everything was in working order. After $1700.00 dollars later. But then... After 20 days my starter was making a low grinding sound again and there was a clicking and grinding sound on my front right tire. The sound wasn't as loud as before but the sound is still there. I called Greg's auto shop and told them about the problems so they advised me to bring it in again so they can check it again since I am under warranty for parts. Well...! I am not happy because they didn't find anything wrong with my car. when I took it back the second time. Now they don't realize that time is money and money is time for me. It's like asking a business to close up for 5 days straight. I haven't taken it back for the third time. I was told to bring it again and test drive it with mechanic in the car with me. The starter would need to be replaced with a brand new one instead of a refurbished one. How frustrating... read more
