Have to say, this is a Rare Business. GREAT service and expert mechanics. REALLY pleased with the work.

They charged me $750 to fix my flange and coolant yet the hose is still leaking, smoking and my check engine light on. They charge $137 an hour for labor but my car is running worse now than it did. I feel like I just got robbed. They offers deals for return customers but I just can't trust them anymore.

They give you a discount if you mention yelp! Strongly recommended. They usually take walk in as well and are quick with the job.

Troy went above and beyond working on our Corvette. He worked in it himself to track down our problem and fix it.

Troy and his team are the best and most importantly honest and transparent about the care your car needs. Won't go anywhere else.

One of the few places that do mechanical work on RVs. Did an oil change and overall mechanical check. Good service. Reasonably priced.

Our local mechanic referred us to a different shop in Sparks; I called to make an appointment, but they were booked out for month. So, I "yelped" and found Arrow Automotive, with a predominant 5 star rating, and made a call, first asking if they were able to fix/replace transfer cases. When they said they do, I asked how far out they were booked and they told me they could get my vehicle in within a couple weeks. I made the appointment. It took a while for this repair to be completed: Arrow had to first order the part; it's not just sitting on their warehouse shelves. When the part arrived from somewhere in Southern CA, Arrow inspected it and found it was defective. Arrow sent the part back, and they/we had to wait for a new one to be sent. When THAT part arrived, Arrow again inspected it and this one was good for go. It was installed; we have had NO problems with the work Arrow did on our 4-Runner. All of this took TIME!! I am thankful they did and we are are pleased with the outcome. Also, the repair was expensive!! Again, this is to be expected. This involved removal of a broken part, disassembling parts, draining of fluids...etc. I would want ALL necessary work to be done and done correctly; the price I paid was worth it. Also note: Their front staff are the most courteous and polite people who didn't express any exasperation when I would call for updates. And their mechanics...knowledgeable, skilled professionals. All said and done....I recommend Arrow Automotive for folks in the Reno/Sparks area. This business is squared away!!

Bravo Transmission - Trudy G. New Washoe City Nevada

I can't say enough nice things about Bravo Transmission. Javier the owner, came to the rescue…read moreagain. The first time he replaced a transmission in my Volkswagen Passat. It was done quickly, professionally and at a fair price. The reason I am posting is because of my Ford F150. My husband and I though we needed a new trasmission. We ordered one from Ford but they couldn't put it in for over a month. I called Javier at Bravo and as soon as the transmission arrived (with in a week) he had it shipped over to his shop and had us bring in the truck. He did a diagnosis and told us that it didn't need a new transmission. He recommended a shop and they did the repairs. Javier is going to take care of returning the transmission and will get us our refund. Saved us a great deal of money. I highly recommend him and will go back to him if ever I need transmission work.

I picked it up a week or two later after it was finally repaired only to find the same issues. When I tried to have the the shop honour their warranty, I was told they were shortstaffed and could not even try to remedy it for at least a few weeks . After I took it back for the third time I discovered that the owner of the shop was using it to commute to his house and keeping it in his driveway overnight! I suspect he had been doing that for weeks during the second repair as well by the mileage indicated . I have recovered my truck with the help of the police and I am going to request a full refund for my transmission work and getting it repaired by another company.. This supposed 18 month warranty is worth absolutely nothing and this has been my experience. I hope it helps others to make a valid decision on where to go to get your vehicle and transmission repaired..

5+ Star Review for AAMCO Reno I don't normally leave…read morereviews--positive or negative--but Chris at AAMCO deserves 5+ stars, a beer, and a high five. Short story: I have a 2015 Jeep EcoDiesel with 100K miles. I knew it was time for some major services. The manual wasn't clear, so I called the dealer. That was fun. I walked away with a laundry list of items that I later found out aren't even applicable to my vehicle. All I wanted was to know what was needed vs. would be nice. I called six shops in the Reno area for quotes and advice before I got to Chris. I was pretty irritated at this point. His quote was significantly lower than the others and I almost just hung up..... but his explanations were detailed and easy to understand. Still, I was skeptical... so much so that I called him and the other shops back several times--almost stage 5 clinger--before finally picking a shop. Now, I'm all for saving a buck, but not at the expense of being stranded on the side of the road. Before dropping $2K at the dealer, I wanted to understand why I'd replace parts that don't even apply to my vehicle--just sayin'. But this is where the 6th star comes in: I dropped it off at 4 PM on Wednesday and got a call at 10 AM Thursday saying it was ready.... AND because he knew I was skeptical, he went as far as emailing before-and-after photos of the work he performed! He also took photos of what wasn't needed and explained why. I mean... really??? Bottom line: I feel confident that everything needed to keep my ride rollin' is good to go--and I somehow managed to save money in the process. ROCK ON! Note: Chris just recently took over AAMCO in Reno, NV (August 2025), so I encourage you to ignore any previous reviews.
