We had a great experience getting an OBD scanner check for a Smog Check! We would definitely go back here!

Great experience with Reno Auto Works! Frank and Casey took great care of me and had my vehicle ready in a great amount of time. I dropped it off around 9 AM Saturday morning, and by 4 PM that same day I was back on the road. I really appreciated them getting everything handled on a Saturday, especially because I needed to make a trip that weekend. Great customer service, great prices, and they made the whole process easy and stress-free. Definitely appreciate Frank, Casey, and the team at Reno Auto Works. I'll be coming back if I ever need anything else done. Highly recommend! read more

This place is absolutely the best in Reno!! Price was very fair and customer service was excellent, I brought my car in on a Friday for a control arm repair and they had it back to me Saturday morning, yes they are open Saturdays! Quick ,friendly, efficient, fair and quality work! Definitely will be back. read more

Yes, they fixed an oil pan leak and informed me of a belt which was cracked, so I allowed them to replace. But they kept insisting that my spark plugs showed at least 50,000 miles of wear. I have a local garage in Boulder City and I have used them for a number of years. They had recently performed a 100,000 mile service which included new spark plugs. I trust them completely. So for this place to keep insisting my spark plugs needed replacement was insulting to me and my trusted mechanics. Also, I don't know if prices are higher here due to proximity to CA, but labor was over $50 higher per hour. Shame on me for not shopping around, but I relied on the overall good rating this shop received. read more

Took my car in to get two doors/ locks fixed--they were able to get me in right away and the work was fast. Great communication too every step of the way, and I really liked the itemized electronic invoice approval process. No pushy add ons, which you don't always find! The reason for 1 star off -- the problem was fixed, but one of the doors doesn't close totally smoothly anymore, and same with the second door which then progressed to not opening at all after a day...obvi less than ideal. On the plus side, they got me in almost immediately to fix the inoperable door, and offered to replace the part on the second door if it still is a little rough by the end of the week. Apparently due to the age of my car, the manufacturer doesn't make parts for it anymore, so everything that can be used is like "after market/make it work", which I get. One door is totally fine now, but the other, a couple weeks later, is still rough. Yes they said I could bring it back and they'd replace it, but like I already had to come back once, having to go back a THIRD time?? So frustrating. I have a newborn baby and a toddler, and juggling drop off/pickup/work/no car/ getting rides three times for the same thing....it's just a huge pain. I just wish there was a little more due diligence up front to not even let me take the car home in the first place. read more

Amazing service! Will get the job done accurately the first time. Would highly recommend to anyone who needs car work or feels as though the information they have received from other places is incorrect. Great value for the work performed and very happy with the speed at which it was completed. read more

I have a 2001 Chevy Tahoe that was housed at my home in Fallon for several years, not needing a smog check in Churchill County. For years, the EGR valve malfunctioned but mechanics said that it wasn't necessary to fix it since smog checks are not required in Fallon, and only Reno and Las Vegas, I need to get my car registered in Washoe County and Reno Auto Works was recommended by my tire dealer. Casey was very helpful and scheduled my appointment and I was in within a week and service was done in less than a week. He let me know what was needed on the car, and rates were very reasonable. Reno Auto Works has 2 garages and is in South Reno next to Les Schwab Tire. Reasonable rates, transparency in what was needed to fix the car, and very pleasant on the phone with customer service. Looks like I found a mechanic to help me with my servicing needs with my household vehicles! Thank you Reno Auto Works! read more

Reno Auto Works - Love my 22 year old car! - Auto Repair Near Me - Reno, Nevada

I had to get in last minute because I was originally scheduled to get work done by the dealership. But when I got there they said just to even look at the car was going to be $200. Which okay, I get a diagnostic fee but my issue was obvious and the fee should have been disclosed during scheduling considering I live out of town. The guy was rude and arrogant so I called Reno Auto Works on the spot and spoke with Blake, I think that was his name. They were booked for the day but agreed to take my car as a drop off. They were super professional and I appreciated the communication. When I received my estimate, I did some research on average costs for labor and parts for my particular service and they were on the higher side but within range. Regarding one of the reviews on here, I am a woman too and did not feel like I was being taken advantage of, nor did I feel I was being discriminated against. It is unfortunate that this happens all too often and we have to be diligent and aware for this. But I also think people don't realize that this is a specialized trade and it may seem like the going rate for an hour of labor is expensive but this is what they went to school for and it is labor intensive. As a woman, if you feel you may be in a situation where you are vulnerable and could possibly be taken advantage of, make sure you do your research and educate yourself enough to be able to protect yourself. I felt this place was fair, transparent as to costs, and worth it to also have been treated well. read more

Truly outstanding service. I emailed them with a concern about my vehicle, and within an hour Blake called to schedule a same-day drop-off. I left my car at 11am and it was fully repaired by 4pm. Their communication was excellent and the turnaround time was impressive. I will absolutely return for any future needs. Thank you! read more

After moving to the area, we had to find a new mechanic for our vehicle. We stumbled upon this garage due to its positive reviews on Yelp and Google. Taking a chance, we brought our car here and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of work and communication from Casey. In just six to seven hours, he completed an oil change, maintenance check, replaced the axles and rotors, and aligned the car. As a veteran, I was even given a discount. plan to bring our vehicles back here read more

I highly recommend this shop for anyone looking to get their vehicle repaired for any reason. They are extremely knowledgeable and professional and will take great care of your vehicle and quickly assess the issue and repair it with very fair pricing. A++++ read more

Quick to respond to my email. Above and beyond help to make sure I'm on the road safely again.

An absolute RIP OFF! Maybe because I am a woman they decided to rip me off!! $4,600 for brakes, shocks, struts, spark plugs/coils. Unfortunately I have to go out of town and could not find another repair shop before then. I relied on the Google reviews, which I am now guessing are fake reviews. I would absolutely NEVER go here again! P.S., I just got a call from Casey because he saw the review. How about you don't rip off female customers in the first place? Keep my money, I will never delete or change this review. I rather protect other people from being ripped off than get a refund. I wish other people would be honest as well. read more

Amazing service! Casey was so awesome and helpful in the repair process and went above and beyond any other mechanic I have worked with. My car has been quite the challenge, but Casey was sure to outline the issues and what it would take to get the car going again in a suitable time frame. I'll definitely be taking my cars here from now on! 11/10! read more

My son's 2006 Subaru was making a grinding noise when he used the brakes. This shop does a free brake inspection so I made an appointment for Saturday (I called in on a Thursday). Within an hour after dropping off the car I received a call back with a diagnosis of a warped brake pad spring, which was the source of the grinding. We picked up the car a little later and when I asked how much we owed, the technician said there was no charge- the fix was easy and their inspections were free. OMG, I was stunned! Thanks so much to Reno Auto Works for doing such a fast and professional job at a very reasonable price! (free lol) Thanks guys, you rock! read more

Great, kind service. Got me in, in a week, no hard sells but did tell me things that need attention. Way better than the tires plus across the street. read more

Good guys, great customer service. Even though they couldn't save my Nissan. He heavily discounted the work he did and I felt like they did what they could. Would recommend. read more

BEST MECHANIC IN RENO! Casey and the team are incredible and have been quick, informative and professional in every interaction I've had with them. I have a 2013 Chevy Sonic that has given me issues for YEARS, and there hasn't been any consistency with previous mechanics. Casey not only took in my vehicle on a moment's notice, but he diagnosed, ordered parts and followed up in the quickest turn around I have ever experienced. I needed to get my check engine light resolved in time for the annual registration and he not only figured out the issue, but he resolved it and even got my vehicle to pass SMOG all before returning my vehicle to me! If that isn't top notch customer service, I don't know what is! As someone who knows little to nothing about cars, it's intimidating to find a trustworthy mechanic out there, but Casey and the team made me feel at ease about the whole process and were very transparent about pricing/cost. I will absolutely be returning for future services. 11/10! read more

I have found Casey to be trustworthy, and that is probably the most important thing in a mechanic. He kept me apprised of the issues he found on what was supposed to be a standard oil change, but turned into a major safety repair. He found the problem, told me the "bad news," got authorization to proceed and finished on time. If he hadn't been attentive, we could have had a catastrophic failure, leaving my family on the side of some road. read more

Reno Auto Works is where I take my car to be worked on. I am the grandson of an auto mechanic, and the guys at Reno Auto Works care about customers like my grandfather did. Before you take your car to over-priced dealers that often give poor service, or the chains, I suggest you try Reno Auto Works. read more
