Dustin and his crew were clutch! We started our cross country drive from CA to VA and a few hours into it, the check engine light turns on while we are on I-80. We were staying the night and looked on Yelp for reviews to investigate. We found Dustin's shop and we're going to try to visit the next morning thinking it was a minor issue and we would get a quick fix. We get to his shop 15 minutes before he opens and we explain our situation. He has a busy schedule and had no obligation to help us as we were just passing through but he said he would take a look and ran some tests. He had some initial thoughts and tried a few things related to a MAF sensor (including cleaning and then replacing it) but something was still wrong. He and his team finally isolated the problem with a fuel exhaust sensor, replaced the part and did more test driving and got us back on the road that afternoon. Dustin and his team were kind honest and thorough and we truly appreciated his work and detail. He could have easily given up or just reset the codes but he cared enough to identify and fix the issue. This gave us peace of mind when driving our car the remaining 2000+ miles to get to our destination. Thank you Dustin! read more

I moved into the area a couple of years ago and I've patronized Dustin's a couple of times. Good experiences overall. They were attentive, friendly and explained and quoted everything nicely. Can't say if it's a good value as I don't have experience with anyone else but I am reasonably confident in them. They charge a hefty fee for credit card transactions so bring cash or your checkbook. read more

You couldn't ask for a better family automotive shop. Dustin is always available and willing to help no matter what it is. When our cars suddenly act up, he is able to take a look at it instantly. When our ATV plow breaks, he goes out of his way to help fix it until parts can be ordered. Him and his employees are kind and truly the meaning of a small-town community. He's fast, honest, and always willing to help. read more

We had our 2004 4WD Ford Ranger towed here for a clutch replacement. They were thorough, straightforward, and didn't give us the run-around like a lot of shops in town have. They listened to our concerns and symptoms/diagnosis and got to work right away on the necessary repairs. They finished the replacement in a very impressive turnaround time, and kept us updated on the state of the issues, which was such a relief! They were very helpful with additional questions we had. This has been the best auto repair experience we have had in the Reno/Sparks area by far! read more

Dustin's is amazing. Plain and simple. I managed the transportation department for a major hotel/casino property in the area, and we took ALL of our vehicles here for all issues, big and small. Dustin and his team had the knowledge and capability to address and fix any and all issues in a timely and cost manner, from limousines to Ford F550 passenger shuttles. I even started taking my personal vehicles to Dustin's when necessary, even though it was out of my way, because I knew and trusted the work of his shop. read more

Premium Service, was driving my van on a road trip when it went bzerk 8 miles east on i80. My towtruck driver recommended Dustin's, was a bit concerned that he was getting me to his friends. It was about 5:20 when he unloaded my van in front of Dustin's. The boys we're wrapping things up but said they would get to my van first thing in the morning. Was amazed when by 9:20am Dustin was on the phone telling me the alternator had been changed, they stayed at the shop till the vendor came the day before and got cracking on my van first thing. A class service! Held his word and understood my missfortune. Small shop but the boys know how to work and seem familiar with diesels. read more

Dustin and his crew know how to take care of their people. Had my timing belt go out in my honda was really strapped for cash and gave me an insanely great deal when the economy is not doing so well with the covid 19. They still put me first, Even when business was really slow for them. shows what kind of guys they truly are. Definitely a trustworthy business. read more

These guys kick ass. I am from out of town so I am always leary of finding a new shop to trust. These guys are the shit. I dealt with them on two very recent occasions and both times. They didnt try to upsell me. They tackled the problems and worked to keep me in budget and even under budget. The first time I hit a tire on the highway in Fernely and it tore all my radiator hoses apart. I fixed it myself and brought it in for them to inspect my work. They didnt try to get extra work and told me a did a good job zip tied and tighted my work and topped it off with antifreeze. Their attitude is great and my interactions on a personal level have all been super positive. I traveled 80k miles this past year and I can reccomend these guys with confidence. read more

Alex and Dustin and there crew ARE AMAZING! THIS IS A SHOP THAT TAKES PRIDE IN IT'S WORK AND HAS AMAZING VALUES. We were on a road trip from California our vehicle started making noises and lights went on. I found Dustin here on Yelp. I saw the great reviews and felt like i could trust them to be fair and honest. I don't know much about cars, but Will explained everything to us. They are a hard working and honest crew! WE GOT THERE BEFORE THE SHOP OPENED AND Will took the time seeing our distress to help us. Dustin and Alex were able to fit us into their schedule. They got us back on the road at a great price the same day. I am so appreciative! Alex made us feel welcome and they eased our worries! We knew we were in good hands! Thanks guys for taking care of Clifford the Suburban from Springville, CA. read more

Life Savers! Alex and Dustin have been so helpful, and done great work on both of my trucks. One was barely running when I brought it in, and they solved some mystery problems that had been bringing it down for years. It's so hard to find an auto shop you can trust and count on, and I'm really happy to have found this one! I'll definitely keep taking my cars there, even though I live an hour away in Lake Tahoe. read more

Dustin and his team were a life saver for us this week. We have a relatively new car with very little miles that had an issue with recognizing the car was parked and key was in. Dustin was honest with us the entire time regarding repair time and cost. Cost was very reasonable and service was excellent. We only used his shop because our normal mechanic was busy and as a family (my father, too) have decided to switch over to Dustin's permanently! read more

I had been contemplating taking my 1998 Ford F-150 in to a shop for months to get my heater fixed. I had heard that it is often a very expensive fix so after saving up a few hundred, I called a few shops to get it looked at. I believe it was New Year's Eve or sometime around there and the first 3 shops I called were closed. Dustin's answered immediately and told me o could come in in an hour. I was in and out with a working heater at an awesome price in a couple hours thanks to the great honest people here. read more

Mom and I were recommended to quite a few places to take my 2002 PT Cruiser, "Petunia". (Yes, my cars name is Petunia!) We ran into a lot of duds along the way, one place which will remain nameless, flat out wanted me to leave my car in his parking lot for up to a month and he would get to it when he got it. Uuummmmmm, NO!! Thankfully, The Twins at Mom's work told us to go to Dustins, and I'm sure glad we did! Mom first called to see when and if we could bring Petunia in for a diagnostic test to try and pin point what was wrong with her, she kept over heating after the engine warmed up, especially on hot days after I had been stopped for more than 2 minutes. I figured it was the fan. Alex answered the phone as she is the receptionist/office manager/ all around bad ass! This girl really knows her stuff and is just totally awesome! She is knowledgeable, sincere, straight forward, professional, and very nice. It's because of her that we took Petunia to Dustins! We scheduled to take her in the following week on Mom's day off. Alex went outside with us and popped the hood to check my oil to make sure the coolant wasn't leaking into it, it would look like a milkshake if it was, FYI. Luckily, my oil looked fine and she agreed with me that it was either the fan, which is very common for them to go out on the Cruisers, or the thermostat. We left Petunia with Alex and Dustin and hoped for the best! Alex called Friday and said it was the fan. Unfortunately, even though it's a relatively easy fix, the engine on a PT Cruiser is very bunched together and odd, so it's a pain to get to, which meant labor costs. She quoted us about $350 for parts and labor and she could have it back to me by Monday or Tueaday, at the latest. Sure enough, she called Monday afternoon saying it was done and that the cost was $368. I really appreciated that Petunia was ready when they said she would be, that the final cost was in a $20 range of the original quote, and that 2 or 3 other things didn't suddenly need to be fixed right away, ya know? Alex also was kind enough to give my car a once over for me as I am going to Roseville/Nevada City in mid December and want to make sure my car is safe to drive in the mountains and possible snow. I'm kind of bummed that I forgot about their check in offer of a $75 voucher for $50, limit of 3!! Oh well, I will use them next time! Petunia no longer over heats and is a happy girl! I will be taking her here before my December road trip for an oil change, also a check in offer discount of $5 off I believe, and just to double check for safety. Alex is great, and like I said, she really know about cars, their components, how they work, etc!! I'm glad that Mom and I have found a dependable, honest, and fairly priced mechanic located nearby that we can take our cars to and recommend to others! Dustins also offers many other services as well, including supping up your ride and such. Anything you're needing or wanting to get done, I would definitely check out Dustins!! Support Local!! Happy Yelping! $$ read more

Poor customer service. My car sat at their shop for a day and a half before they even took a look at it despite having told me that the car would be looked at by the end of the first day (which is why I chose to go with this shop as I was just about to leave town). After many phone calls initiated by myself and another day being kept in the dark, they did look at my car it took them several hours to diagnose the problem which they later charged me what I believed to be an unfair price for them to figure out the issue. I wound up paying the same for the diagnostic as I did for the repair. When i brought my issue up to them they said they could not work with me on this and never even apologized for their lack of communication or inconvenience they caused me. After all this the car is fixed but I am unhappy with the way I was treated and will not go back to this shop read more

I had a problem with the locking system in my Ford Explorer. I took it to Justin the next day. He checked it for several hours and couldn't make it malfunction. I went and picked it up and he didn't charge me. You can't beat that one! I will definitely be back again. read more

Great service, the crew went above and beyond to repair my truck. I bought parts that were supposed to be OEM compatible, but as everyone knows this doesn't always work.
