We have been using Vinny's for years, over 20. Vinny(RIP) and now Dominic and their staff take amazing care to diagnose your problems and save you money, if they can, on parts and service. I even pulled up to have my car looked at many years ago and at that time Vinny told me how to fix my problem myself. We learned about Vinny's from our neighbor Bob P, who had owned a small engine repair shop at one time and drove truck for a living only trusting Vinny's with his personal vehicles. I trust Vinny's to do the right thing for my family and friends. Dominic is a very nice person who takes the time to speak to you on a level you can understand. read more

Dominic was great at diagnosing the problem with my Ford Ranger truck and repairing it. Honest and professional, can't ask for more. I expected to pay more but it was definitely reasonable for what was done. Highly recommend Vinny's! read more

Professional, honest, and reliable. A friend gave me the hame of the business after my long twrm mechanic passed away. The experience with Vinny's was excellent read more

I've been taking my cars to Vinny's since Vinny ran the shop. Now his step son, Dominic is running the shop and I'm sure Vinny is so proud!! We had our new-to-us 2004 Jeep Wrangler in to check on a high whining sounds. It's frustrating when you don't know what could cause the weird noises we hear, but we are so glad we took it to Vinny's!! Not only did Dominic find the issues, he completed the service in the same day. He was great explaining we weren't crazy hearing this noise, and even showed us the parts he replaced. I was thrilled driving the Jeep home, instantly noticing the difference in the performance and noise- it was gone!!! He replaced the serpentine belt, pulley, belt tensioner and water pump. He quoted us earlier, and he only added a little bit more to the cost. We will always trust Vinny's with our vehicles!! read more

Honest and straight forward repair. Dominic and team took care of my brake job project from start to finish as I was recommended to his shop by another business in the industry. Attention to detail was done and it was finished in the budget estimated within the timeframe promised. Will be back again. read more

Dominic was extremely helpful and informative. In an industry that often will take advantage of people, I fully trust Dominic!

Definitely my new go to place in town. Dominic was so incredibly helpful, patient with all my questions and even offered to talk to my stepdad, a mechanic who lives in FL, to go over all the repairs my car needed, so I felt comfortable. He went over all the options on what to do with my car even if it wasn't in his favor. I never felt taken advantage of, overcharged, or talked down to. This was the best experience I have ever had dealing with a mechanic. I highly recommend Vinny's. I'm not one to post reviews often but I felt a 5 star was truly deserved! Thanks Dominic and crew! read more

Great auto and customer service! Dominic runs a tight ship and keeps you well informed along the way. Love the service, love the business. Dropped off my F350 and found out things about the front end that other techs hadn't previously mentioned. After I approved the repairs and the work was completed, Dominic showed me the old parts - the need for the repairs were so obvious. They solved multiple issues I hadn't anticipated, in addition to the primary reason I dropped off my truck in the first place. Excellent auto service, excellent customer service! read more

I am still beyond happy with Vinny's Automotive. The honesty is what keeps me coming back.If I don't need something done that in my absolute lack of knowledge I really think I need, they alway's let me know, very politely, that maybe it isn't necessary. They also do not hesitate to let you know what is going on and make helpful suggestions. The work done here is top notch and everyone is pleasant to deal with. read more

I just needed to say how much I love Vinny's Automotive! Believe me when I say, when we first came to him my mom gave him the 10degree and he passed with flying colors! I have been going to this place for a very, very, very long time and sending everyone I know to him as well! Vinny is very honest and he never charges for anything that doesn't need to be done on your car! Vinny is professional, timely, honest and his feedback is straight from the hip. He will check your car and tell you how much it will cost BEFORE he does any work! His son and wife are very friendly and personable as Vinny! If you are a woman especially and tired of being taken advantage of...VINNY is the answer and you will not be disappointed! Vinny's Automotive is one of the last HONEST shops around! read more

They are all the best! Customer service was excellent! Dominic worked with us for times and prices to get our car repaired. You can trust him and know you are not getting ripped off or the run around. He even came in on his day off for a 8 hour job to fix our car. I highly recommend this shop for great service and peace of mind! But because they are so good, they are very busy. Won't go anywhere else anymore! Prices are very reasonable! read more

This is by far the best mechanic I have ever been to. As someone who typically handles their own vehicle repairs, I was initially cautious about using a mechanic. I was incredibly relieved to find the experience totally painless. They have been nothing but helpful in every interaction I have had, and they always take the time to explain exactly what they're doing and how much it will cost. Their prices have been consistently far less than any other mechanic I have found in Reno/Sparks, and their customer service is second to none. One particular note I would highlight is how courteously they treated my girlfriend when she picked up our vehicle. I would gladly recommend Vinny's Automotive to anyone looking for an honest, affordable mechanic. read more

Dave W Took my Lexus into Vinny's with a rear wheel sound. Dropped it with Dominic. They diagnosed the problem and also alerted me of a brake problem I had. I wound up needing all four rotors and pads. Car came back in great shape and was priced fairly, definitely more economical than the dealership. I plan on using Vinny's on the rest of my vehicles going forward. read more

I needed some super simple work done on my car, I just don't trust myself to do it and have a hard time trusting mechanics. Everyone is always trying to add something or overcharge or make more money. My friend told me about Vinnys so I called up to get a rough quote and they were happy to provide. Feeling comfortable and liking the price, I dropped off my car to have the work done and picked up the next day. The next morning I got a call that it was ready as well as a price quote for fixing my passenger door. That too was very reasonable and I will be going back to have that done. The service was fantastic, the people were super friendly and my car is super happy. I've been looking for a good, trustworthy mechanic that I can go see again and again and I'm happy to say I found it in Vinnys! read more

Customer service was amazing. Jason kept me informed and was very polite. He sincerely listened to my concerns. They got my Tahoe in-and-out in decent time. I always enjoy working with the folks at Vinnie's automotive. Fair in pricing and will give estimates on work to be done and future work. read more

have to say that I have been living in Reno for years, and I have used Vinney's repeatedly. When the dealership says one thing, it turns out to be another, and usually a much cheaper repair. Vinny has been around a very long time, and seen it all, so when he says something doesnt need repaired, he is right on the money. Only complaint - there isn't 14 of him and his crew to get my car in sooner! Price is always right, and if he knows it can be done cheaper at the dealer, he will tell you so. How many repair places would do that for you? If he ever gives up the business, I will have to give up my ride. :) read more

Vinny's is the place to go for the mechanical stuff. I'm not mechanical in the least, so it's great to have a place to go where you are assured that you won't be taken advantage of. There have been times where we've been in a bit of a mechanical crisis and Vinny, and his son, Dominique and bent over backwards to get us in and back on the road. Vinny's is the place -- besides what other mechanic do you know who's from Brooklyn, NY and sings opera? How classy is that! read more

Wow! Excellent, professional, honest service. Took my Subaru in for inspection after dealership quoted me almost $500...less than $100 later all recommended repairs completed...left a very satisfied customer! It's hard to find honest, local mechanic but defiantly feel like I found that with Vinnys and will be back! read more

I can't say enough about Vinny's. They are honest, accommodating and do great work. They diagnose the problem quickly and their turnaround is efficient too. read more

I would take my cars to Vinny's any time! Dominic was very helpful and explained things to me like he cared. I didn't have any anxiety about being taken advantage of. The cost seemed very reasonable. read more

I've been taking my vehicles to Vinney's for years. Even though Vinney is now retired, his step-son Dominique still provides the same quality service at reasonable prices. He replaced my alternator 2 years ago and when it went out again, he replaced it today for labor only since it was still under warranty: I absolutely trust the service I receive here. read more

I've been to many car shops all over Reno and 5/6 have ripped me off or didn't know what they were doing. Vinny's fixed my car just in time for my road trip and it's been fine ever since I picked it up. They were also very communicative and kept me updated every step of the way. read more

You can't go wrong with Vinny and his business. Vinny is honest, fair, and friendly. Do yourself a favor and bring your car to Vinny's for servicing and repairs. I am moving out of state and hate to leave Vinny!!! read more

I have heard a lot of good things about this place. When my alternator started to go out I took it down there to try them out. 08-09-17 I walk in there and 1st thing I see a a lady (Savannah) at the front desk. She takes my info and then gives me her phone number I give it back. "Sorry but I am married." She then tells me "So am I but I can keep a secret." at that pint I felt the need to just leave and get my car fixed else where. A day or so latter I called in to talk to Dominic (The Owner) who tells me he understand my being offended but can't let her go on the word of someone who has never been in there before read more

We have brought the car in multiple times (THIS MONTH) just to end up here again for another fix. The car wasn't as bad as it is now before we brought it here. According to my boyfriend, this has been a reliable place to bring his car in the past and it saddens me to have to post this, but I am mad and extremely disappointed in the situation. I wouldn't be mad if they just finished the job for the original issue rather than fixing other things and ignoring the main issue and spending money where it doesn't need fixing. I'm always excited to pick up the car but end up disappointed every time. They should test drive the car before having us pick up. No way anyone would send us home with a car making the noises it does. Don't come here. Spend the money somewhere else and actually get it fixed. read more
