I recommend sunshine services to anyone and everyone! I live north of reno in California, and they were very understanding when both major fires closed 395 down and had to reschedule. The best part was when I set an alarm to call them at 4:45 to see about an estimated day it'd be done they called me first telling me my truck was ready for pick up!! My truck drives so much smoother I got to used to it fighting against my steering for years, and now it just doesn't feel right. Gotta love easy, low-contact communication to start. I made my appointment online on a Monday, but availability wasn't until Friday. If it weren't for the positive reviews and comments, I may not have continued. I had also made an online appointment with a big-box tire shop, only to get a call back telling me that the appointment I made was actually a request. Hmmm... #1. I had asked for pricing for an alignment (which was on the high side) and a tire rotation, and the wording just felt a little slippery. So I told them I'd call them back to schedule. Sunshine sent me a reminder text, and I was curious if I'd actually get a response. Wouldn't you know it -- I did! I specifically asked about the cost and whether there were any other fees. Turns out, the alignment price was the alignment price (provided no additional work was needed), and that is exactly what I paid in the end. When I arrived Friday for my appointment, I received a greeting text. It freaked me out for a moment, but then I realized they had seen me and my car entering the shop and had done a pre-check-in. The guys at the counter couldn't have been nicer or more approachable. The work took about 90 minutes, and while I waited, several people walked in. The same friendliness I experienced was coming across with everyone. Is that a sign of trust? For this shop, I'd say yes. Before completing the transaction, I was given -- and sent by text -- a green/yellow/red list of recommended work. I asked if they could give me quotes on the items, and they sure did! Mr. Diaz also highlighted what he personally recommended prioritizing, and I really appreciated that approach. I didn't have to do everything on the list at once. We could knock the work out one by one. You don't know how much I appreciate this kind of approach. I know shops can take advantage of people -- especially ladies like me who are already on guard because we're expecting to get confused, fast-talked, or pressured into something we don't understand. That didn't happen here. I felt informed, respected, and in control of what I was choosing to have done to my car. That goes a long way with me. So far, Sunshine Service Shop has earned my trust. read more

I've been there multiple times and the service is consistently great. The service person explains in detail exactly will be performed. This oil change i asked the difference between the two available oil filters. He actually showed me a filter that had been dissected, explaining the advanced workings and performance of the more expensive filter. If there are any surprises discovered during their very thorough inspections, they will stop to report it and explain options to repair or defer to another time. Clean facility, courteous and professional technicians and staff, quick work without rushing anything. Always a good experience. read more

Super friendly and super easy. They explained everything amd don't try to make you feel like you should trust them. They give you a reason to trust them and go into detail. They look out for their customer and there's no hassle. We were there for about two hours to get two things done. They were accommodating amd friendly the entire time. They make it feel like your family. Also their facility is clean and their bathrooms kept up. They had a very comfy waiting area and provided drinks and snacks for those who may need it. It's also cool to support local and to see the historical aspects of the company. Also if you wait and want to go grab food there's plenty of areas within. Walking distance to grab a meal or other snacks. Also the price was within. Reason and isn't anymore or less than other areas. They are honest about the price as well. Jake was easy to work with and got me in even though it was a short (Holiday) week. I went in with a "shimmy" in the front end. The people in the office were all courteous, welcoming, and pleasant! No "talking down to a woman" bs at all. I really appreciate that! Communication was clear. They called when they said they would. Jake was clear on fee structure and costs along the way. Sunshine also performed a pretty thorough general inspection and found a few additional things that needed to be addressed. The choice of what to do or not do was completely mine. There was absolutely NO pressure to approve the other suggested services. They sent a text with pictures of what they found and explained anything/everything I asked about. Again, very much appreciated! I ended up needing new lower front rocker arms & bushings. They also performed an alignment (due to rocker arm replacement) oil change, tire balance & rotation and replaced the engine filter. I could see it was needed based on photos sent via the text. Jake found a replacement kit that included arms and bushings which saved me some money. Yay They also found the tires had been rotated improperly for an AWD. They checked tread wear and put tires in correct position to help them wear more evenly. I am completely satisfied with all levels of service received. Thank you so much Jake and Sunshine. read more

01.29.26 I came in for an alignment after having some work done on my vehicle, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. Al greeted me with a smile on the day of my appointment and clearly explained what to expect, including the process, time frame, and cost. There were no pushy "salesman" tactics--just friendly, straightforward information and clear expectations. Chris was my technician that day and performed a thorough pre-alignment inspection before getting to work. The results were immediate: my vehicle no longer pulled to the right, and the steering was perfectly re-centered. Everything was completed in just over an hour. I was especially impressed with the above-and-beyond service included in the inspection. Chris filled the front and rear ball joints with grease where needed and documented everything with notes and photos. The detailed digital report was emailed to me after the service, providing a clear visual record of the vehicle's condition and any future or immediate maintenance needs--an incredibly helpful touch. Al was fantastic throughout the visit--honest, friendly, and patient with all of my questions. I contacted Sunshine Auto Repair while comparing estimates for a radiator replacement on my 2005 Toyota RAV4. Even though they had not seen the vehicle in person, they took the time to ask questions and gather information before providing a rough estimate. I understood that the final cost could change after an inspection, but having a ballpark range was very helpful when comparing my options and planning financially. DO NOT USE KALI'I AS YOUR SERVICE ADVISOR. Man, what a sh*t show this place is!!! DO NOT LET THEM BALANCE YOUR WHEELS. Long story, but here we go. I called around and spent months trying to find somewhere in Reno that can properly balance 35" wheels and tires. I bought new wheels and tires, needed them balanced. Truck had no shake or vibration with the OEM wheels. Sunshine was recommended to me by someone at a gas station with 35s that had them balanced there. Sounded great! It surely wasn't. I brought my truck in with an appointment 1/21/26 and left it for the day to have the wheels and tires balanced. The front desk service advisor Kalii took the keys and said they'd get it done. I come back for the truck a few hours later and Kalii informed me they used 40 ounces of wheel weights! And they charge $1.95 PER OUNCE of weight used. On top of a $120 balancing fee. Oh well, trucks balanced and move on right? NOPE. Im driving home the truck has a violent shake and balancing issue is even worse. So I call back Kalii and he said the technician balanced them and they were fine, and I didn't pay them to diagnose the issue further. But the issue somehow got worse? So I come back the next day, and talk to Kali'i about the shake. He was exceptionally rude and said that if the machine claimed they were balanced, that they are. I assured him it was a balancing problem, and to please re check them. Kali'i was aggressive and in my face claiming there wasn't an issue and if I wanted them to diagnose it, there would be a labor charge. I asked him to have them re checked for balance and nothing more. 3 hours later, a technician Kolton came out and wanted to chat. Turns out the day before the wrong machine was used and he tried to make the best of it but still ended up using 40 ounces of weights. He owned up and felt bad about it and the next day re balanced them on a different machine and they ended up using 8 ounces. That sounds about right. Cool, shout out to the tech Kolton for owning up and making it right. We went on a test drive and sure enough no vibrations at all. Awesome! So I go back to speak to Kali'i and he's not there. No worries, I ask Justin to have him call me when he's available. No call. I call Friday and ask for Kali'i. Not available, no call back. Same story the following Monday. Same story Tuesday. Finally on Wednesday I call and Kali'i answers. Kali'i remembers me and my truck but surely doesn't remember speaking to me the way he did on the second day. I ask what he wants to do about the issue and he said there was nothing to do. At the minimum, you'd expect a shop who messes up to refund you the weights they charge a criminal amount for already. So I ask him can we just write off the weights I paid $77 for that got stripped off the next day. Kali'i was ride once again and said that the best he could do was refund me half the weights of $30. I'm sick of dealing with him and Sunshine Automotive so I take it and move on. I finally ask Kali'i if he had anything else to say (maybe an apology or owning up to being unbelievably rude) and he hung up on me. So, if you need a wheel and tire balance on a 35" or bigger tire, maybe find another shop. And if you have to use Sunshine, talk to anyone but Kali'i. read more

I was checked in and out within a few minutes, but had I been waiting there, there was a small lobby with soft couches and a small fridge with complimentary beverages. lAwesome customer service; Justin explained the service report over the phone and then again in person when I picked up the car. A link to a detailed report, including photos, was also messaged to prior to pick up. The front desk gal and Justin were both kind, patient, and professional. The whole process was extremely transparent and my alignment is good. No pressure to perform more services as the brakes are still in decent condition.
