We've had experiences where we (and even the local Ford dealership) couldn't figure out why our 2000 F-250 was overheating, and the mechanics at Advanced Automotive did. When I first moved to Reno I drove my car from Arizona. Got to my brothers house and realized the car was leaking. Took it to the dealer because I didn't know of anywhere else to go. Cost $2000 to fix multiple leaks, plus I had unexplained dash lights going on randomly. I felt the rep there was fair. Kept the car for several days because no one could figure out why the lights kept coming on and off. Gave me a loaner. Didn't feel expense was too much, because honestly I've not spent any money on my 14 year old car other than routine stuff Lights went out without explanation and I took the car back Several months later I knew it was time for breaks and I got a coupon that gave a price per axle. And the lights were back on. Took it back to dealer but did not get same rep. Did not like this guy from first moment. First thing he said was coupon good for one axle until I pointed out the coupon read per axle. Oh he said and honored the coupon Again they kept car for 3 days and yes I did get a loaner. This time he said it would cost $500 to fix car and if I didn't fix it the car could suddenly stop on me. Now I felt pressured and said no. But they charged $125 diagnostic fee and form said this MIGHT fix problem. Wrote to dealer and got fee back. Don't pressure me into an iffy situation! In the meantime my niece told me about Advanced automotive. They work on all makes and models. So I brought the car here told Eric (owner) my tale of woe and explained that this is an old car I'm trying to keep going for a little while longer and don't want to spend a lot of money He was very understanding, called around for used parts and got the car fixed for $250. I thought it was time for tires, because dealers will sell you tires long before due, he did not try to sell tires to me, he checked them out and said I was good for awhile So now I need an oil change, and while he charges a little more than Jiffy Lube , I feel comfortable with him working on my car and highly recommend him. Besides I have a light indicator on on the dash and I can't find any lights out. It's probably something like the license plate light. But I'm sure they will find it. read more

About 1 year ago I was at a jiffy lube getting my oil changed and I saw Eric's business card for his shop, I needed my oil pan seal replaced so I gave him a go. He finished the job that same day and charged me $500 less than the Cadillac shop was trying too. So because I had such a good experience with them I went back to get my power steering fixed. Eric knew the importance of the job and how fast I needed this to be done and he said give me a day and I'll have you ready to go. I have been going to Eric for many years. But every so often he reminds me why I keep going back. Today my daughter and her husband took their Lincoln Navigator in for brakes. The rears were squeezing and they thought it may need to have the rotors surfaced as well. My son-in-law purchased his own pads and left them for Eric to use. When his crew started the repair the discovered that one of the caliper bolts was broken. They simply replaced the Bolt and they were done! Eric could have very easily just change the pads, surfaced the rotors and charged hundreds. Instead he charged $100, which included an oil change! Advanced Automotive is amazing! read more

Very disappointed with this business. They might be good at wrenching, but customer service is horrible. I made an appointment a week out. Came in at 8am. They just said they'd call after looking at the vehicle. Came back 2 hours later, they hadn't even looked at the vehicle. Why make an appointment??
