Eric repaired my Escape a few years ago at a more than fair price. Today, they were really busy but he took some time to check out any possible recalls and other data on the computer. After considering options on this newer Escape he then referred me to one of his trusted colleagues. Bottom line, you can completely trust this business to tell you straight and be fair on their pricing. Can't ask for more than that from a car repair shop. Recommend highly. read more

Every thing went great there. They have worked on all my vehicles. And everything from the work to the owners is the best. I live in California but own land here and always bring my vehicles here to them. Have had several times where I thought there was a problem. They did minor adjustments or looked it over , no charge. read more

You never know when you need a great automotive mechanic and when the time comes we all hound friends and family on who to go to. Well Yelp fam, I'm here to tell you where to find a great automotive shop. Advanced Automotive was recommended to me by a co-worker several years ago and we've take at least 4 vehicles (Honda, Ford , Toyota, VW) there ever since. We've had experiences where we (and even the local Ford dealership) couldn't figure out why our 2000 F-250 was overheating, and the mechanics at Advanced Automotive did. They were thorough, honest, and provided us feedback throughout the repair by elimination process. This is just one example. They've repaired several vehicle issues for use and each time was pleasant. Their prices are fair and they can usually get us within 5-7 business days. read more

When I first moved to Reno I drove my car from Arizona. Got to my brothers house and realized the car was leaking. Took it to the dealer because I didn't know of anywhere else to go. Cost $2000 to fix multiple leaks, plus I had unexplained dash lights going on randomly. I felt the rep there was fair. Kept the car for several days because no one could figure out why the lights kept coming on and off. Gave me a loaner. Didn't feel expense was too much, because honestly I've not spent any money on my 14 year old car other than routine stuff Lights went out without explanation and I took the car back Several months later I knew it was time for breaks and I got a coupon that gave a price per axle. And the lights were back on. Took it back to dealer but did not get same rep. Did not like this guy from first moment. First thing he said was coupon good for one axle until I pointed out the coupon read per axle. Oh he said and honored the coupon Again they kept car for 3 days and yes I did get a loaner. This time he said it would cost $500 to fix car and if I didn't fix it the car could suddenly stop on me. Now I felt pressured and said no. But they charged $125 diagnostic fee and form said this MIGHT fix problem. Wrote to dealer and got fee back. Don't pressure me into an iffy situation! In the meantime my niece told me about Advanced automotive. They work on all makes and models. So I brought the car here told Eric (owner) my tale of woe and explained that this is an old car I'm trying to keep going for a little while longer and don't want to spend a lot of money He was very understanding, called around for used parts and got the car fixed for $250. I thought it was time for tires, because dealers will sell you tires long before due, he did not try to sell tires to me, he checked them out and said I was good for awhile So now I need an oil change, and while he charges a little more than Jiffy Lube , I feel comfortable with him working on my car and highly recommend him. Besides I have a light indicator on on the dash and I can't find any lights out. It's probably something like the license plate light. But I'm sure they will find it. read more

I adore Eric and Yvette. I have been exclusively since 2007. Eric has taken care of my two vehicles, always gone above and beyond to make sure my cars were safe and well cared for. I was recommended to Eric and Advanced Automotive by my tire folks. What an incredible find! Having been put through the wringer a few times at the dealership, I've been in search of, wait for it....an honest mechanic. Job done! Eric and his team are the top choice for honest, efficient and professional service for your car or truck (we have both). They stick to their timeline and are fairly priced. I highly recommend them for your auto service needs. read more

Great shop, you can trust Eric to do the right thing. I would give them more stars if I could.

Referred to them by Chuck at Big O tires. Installed a water pump, timing chain on one occasion and a vacuum pump on another. Promptly repaired at a fair price. Highly recommend. They have been in biz there for a long time, for good reason. read more

About 1 year ago I was at a jiffy lube getting my oil changed and I saw Eric's business card for his shop, I needed my oil pan seal replaced so I gave him a go. He finished the job that same day and charged me $500 less than the Cadillac shop was trying too. So because I had such a good experience with them I went back to get my power steering fixed. Eric knew the importance of the job and how fast I needed this to be done and he said give me a day and I'll have you ready to go. True to his work this guy is awesome big props to him and his crew We appreciate you and all the hard and honest work. Thanks again!! read more

As someone who insists on keeping a few older, high-mileage vehicles on the road, I can't say enough good things about Eric , his wife and the rest of the crew at Advanced Automotive. He's honest and trustworthy and always lines out my various repair options according to seriousness, beginning with most affordable (used parts,etc...)...much appreciated! I recommend this business highly and will never take our cars anywhere else in this area. read more

I have been going to Eric for many years. But every so often he reminds me why I keep going back. Today my daughter and her husband took their Lincoln Navigator in for brakes. The rears were squeezing and they thought it may need to have the rotors surfaced as well. My son-in-law purchased his own pads and left them for Eric to use. When his crew started the repair the discovered that one of the caliper bolts was broken. They simply replaced the Bolt and they were done! Eric could have very easily just change the pads, surfaced the rotors and charged hundreds. Instead he charged $100, which included an oil change! Advanced Automotive is amazing! read more

Eric and the crew are always thorough and honest. They don't perform unnecessary work or try to squeeze extra money out of their customers. They are very trustworthy and I will never go to another mechanic in the Reno area again. I have had a few unreliable cars and thank god for reliable auto shops like Advanced Automotive read more

Very disappointed with this business. They might be good at wrenching, but customer service is horrible. I made an appointment a week out. Came in at 8am. They just said they'd call after looking at the vehicle. Came back 2 hours later, they hadn't even looked at the vehicle. Why make an appointment?? Let a guy know that an appointment doesn't mean anything. Very inconsiderate business owners! read more

Finally a true mechanic. I will never go anywhere else again. They are honest, friendly, and take good care of you with out overcharging you. read more

I had some work done on my jeep back in 2009 and 2010, then moved out of town. I was back to visit last week and had a strange noise to get checked out. Eric was kind enough to give it a listen, and gave me great advice. Fortunately it was nothing serious that needed to be done. I've always found the shop to be honest and professional, and in line with reasonable pricing. read more
