Great cumstomer service. Explained everything and sent appprovals before doing the work. Even ended up being less when completed my Trailblazer. Professional staff and exceptional honesty. I will recommend A Master Mechanic to my family and friends. read more

We've tried a couple of other mechanic shops in the areas of Fernley, Reno, Fallon and Carson City including Ford dealerships but had some questions about work performance and ethics. A friend recommended me to A Master Mechanics because of their excellent customer service and care for her car; in addition to being a partner with CarShield. Fred Rivas was most helpful and informative. He gave me updates on the concerns with my vehicle and worked with me since CarShield ended up not covering the work required. Just picked up our car and it feels brand new ! Sincerely appreciate all of the Conrad Wilsons (technician) efforts to ensure our car was running great ! HIGHLY recommend A Master Mechanics! read more

Did not expect the interior to be so polished and the service to be so fast. Got my smog done super quick, thankful that these guys are open so early in the morning, I work graveyards and had a DMV appointment at 8 o'clock, got my smog done super quick. No complaints five out of five. read more

Another easy smog check. These guys are so nice and get it done so fast, I don't even mind having to pay for a smog check every year. As always free popcorn and muffins and crackers and drinks. This really is a sweet place! read more

Geronimo was fantastic. This was my first time here and needed engine oil, transmission and differential servicing on my F150. They delivered as promised. I'd recommend this business for Ford pickups. read more

Let's start off. I got an oil change in California where I live ,,the mechanic must've pinched the rubber gasket so I had a major oil leak. so we r in Reno NV now. I had to find a mechanic to fix this problem. I called master mechanics and Geronimo pulled me right in ,,,the mechanics in the back found the problem took care of it. It's hard to find honest mechanics. This place seems legit so if you live in Reno Nevada, here you go the shop is clean. The waiting room is awesome. Thanks again guys. One more thing the prices are a little high, but like I said before you get what you pay for and I will pay an extra dollar to get it done right read more

These guys rock! Every time I take my car in they kill it, even just an oil change and smog; I hang out in the waiting room watch some TV have some popcorn or a cup of coffee. Greg the mechanic guy explains complicated stuff in easy to understandable. Very nice people and place. read more

Every time I bring my vehicle in it costs me 3k. This last time I brought it in and they sent me a list totaling 10k of all the things they said needed to be fixed. It was in 6 months ago and none of those things were on the list. They call be before I'm supposed to pick it up and said the tech felt misfiring...odd because it wasn't misfiring when I brought it in...ended up picking it up paying the $2800 and not doing any other repairs. But now I have to find another mechanic to fix the misfire. They've at least gotten better at keeping you posted, last time they had my car for over a week and never said it would like that long I had to finally call and ask what was going on. If you bring your car in be ready for a list of expensive issues and to pay a hefty fee. I've had to pay 6k in the past 6 months and it's got to go into the shop again. Only good thing they'll drive you home or pick you up and their front office people are nice other than that I definitely won't be back. I have to now rent a car until I find another mechanic. read more

Great service! They furnished a detailed estimate after performing a comprehensive inspection of my vehicle. Their service tech was very thorough and helpful. I will say it wasn't cheap but the work needed to be done. I'm very satisfied. read more

They want a large diagnostic fee to find the problem and diagnose it!!!! All it took was a parts dept. hearing the problem (that I explained to the guy at Master Mech) and a $14.00 clip and I fixed it myself! I'm a woman in my 70's!!! If the big bad men need help let me know! read more

I cannot recommend A Master Mechanic enough. They are honest and trustworthy. We had to bring a car back in for some warranty work. (It had to do with the materials not the capabilities of the mechanics) They were good at keeping us in touch with what was going on and they were ALWAYS a delight to talk with over the phone. We worked primarily with Geronimo and he was extremely professional and very kind. We will continue to support A Master Mechanic with our Automotive needs & projects. Thanks again Geronimo! read more

Had my car in to have oxygen sensors replaced after my Subaru Outback wouldn't pass the dreaded smog test. They charged, what seemed to me a lot for the job, and I can't help but feel I could have gotten it done someplace else for less... However, they got it fixed and my car was able to pass smog. read more

I am very pleased with the service performed on my 2005 Subaru Forester Turbo 2.5 T. It has 149,000 miles and it is no longer a good idea to take it to Lithia Subaru because they have far too many cars to service. It is a very comfortable waiting area. Geronimo kept me informed and it was a very comfortable wait. read more

I was in a real pickle with a 25-year-old Mustang that had multiple lights on and they helped me out. They didn't have any open appointments, but they fixed my car in between other jobs. They were nice and Geronimo took really good care of me. A++ communication, accurate estimates, trustworthy, and no surprise charges. read more

There are better places to send your wives and daughters alone. The AC stopped working on the Hyundai Accent my nineteen-year-old daughter drives. A friend recommended this place, so I called and made an appointment. My daughter dropped it off early Thursday morning for an estimate. She and I both called several times about the quote. The mechanic told me that evening that the AC compressor had to be replaced. I asked for a ballpark figure because he said he had been assessing the car at the shop since 7:30 a.m. He said around $900. I gave him my email and asked that he email the quote the following day. The quote was $2,200.00. I called and spoke to another gentleman, asking why the price was so high. As we reviewed the bill item by item, things began to bother me. I was charged $168 three times for a diagnostic fee, which I assume is plugging their little machine into the car. That's $500 to find out what is wrong! Then, I discovered the main issue. The estimate included an oil change, which was not necessary because. The oil had been changed regularly and was not due for another 1,000 miles. There was a charge to repair a tire. I declined this because it's under warranty. They also had a $51.30 charge to replace the wiper blades...um, no. We finally got the price down to around $1,400.00. I had them do the work because I had no confidence in finding an honest mechanic. Let's see how it holds up. Does anyone know a good mechanic? read more

We thought we had an issue with our truck. We call A Master and they got us in that day, we left the truck there and they ran several diagnostic tests. they called us the next day and said all the tests were negative and all appeared in order. When I picked up my truck I was expecting to pay for the diagnostic tests but to my surprise I was told there would not be a charge. Granted I have been a loyal customer with A Master for sometime but work was preformed and I was ready to pay for work done. I come back because of the quality of the work and the service by the staff. It's this added courtsey that makes me want to share my experience with A-Masters. Thank you Jeff you have a great team. read more

GET A SECOND OPINION or take someone with you who knows cars. The ONLY good thing about them was Fred was very courteous. Had my daughters car towed there because of a leaking radiator. Found out there was a crack in it and so he sent me pictures and a quote. $1300+ is what they wanted! Are you kidding me?!?! $790 in labor!!!Absolutely insane considering that all the parts they had to get to would've either already been removed or accessible to change out the radiator. ROBBERY. I feel sorry for unsuspecting college students who don't know better. read more

We took our car in for 60,000 mile service and felt their price was very reasonable. They did a thorough job on the car and their recommended repairs were sound. We are a one car family, so they graciously gave me a ride. We highly recommend A Master Mechanic. read more

A master Mechanic did an amazing job working on our international metro. My boyfriend did all the work on it but moving to a new state and not having the place or the time to work on it himself we ran into issues when things needed to get done and not too many shops could or would work on it... we were getting turned away because no one could work on something so custom and low to the ground but a master Mechanic were there for us and we will be bringing all of our old school vehicles to them. Like many of us, I rely on my car daily to get me to and from work etc... I work in Truckee/Tahoe and live in Reno, so the drive isn't simple. I was worried when my car had a light come on and it didn't have a lot of power. I couldn't afford my car to break down and be on the side of snowy I-80. I called and made an appointment for a different day. My car wasn't running right, so I drove over there and they got me right in! They even waited with me, until after 5 when they closed, for my ride to pick me up:) It was a good thing I took it in because my water pump went out as well. They got it all repaired and back to me in 2 business days!!!!!! When I got it back it ran so well I couldn't tell it was running. The motor was quite again and powerful! I have never had another shop treat me so well or repair my car so fast. I HIGHLY recommend A Master Mechanic for all your automotive needs! Thanks guys & gals!!! read more

Update, I got into an accident and wrecked the front end of my truck. After the truck was released form the Insurance I took it to A Master Mechanic. They were able to get my truck started on the next day. They gave me a complete diagnostic list of all the repairs needed and costs. They did a great job. My truck is now operating better than when I bought it. Can't say enough about the crew here. They went above and beyond on a few other things and didn't charge me. Once again earning my business and word of mouth. Affordable and honest. Took my truck in for transmission repair and ac/heater issues. Jeff, the owner, was very personal and showed he cared. I will only take my vehicles to Jeff moving forward. He gave me updates on progress as well as being the best price for repairs after calling 6 other shops. He also gave a me nationwide Napa auto warranty for the work. I don't review many businesses but Jeff earned my business. read more

Wish I could put zero stars. We brought in our '99 Yukon in 2015. Boy did this place screw it up. Brought it to them for a steering problem. This is what they did: wheel alignment, complete steering gear, pitman arm assembly, power steering gear box== $868.00. Really don't know if that's a good price or a rip off. Complaint is the fact that my Yukon now turns like its in cement unless it is revved up. Extremely hard to turn from a dead stop. Icing on the cake was a few days later we took it to Costco for tires and we couldn't locate the unlock tool for the wheels...went back to A Master Mechanic, because they had taken the wheels off originally and guess what?, they never returned the tool to our glovebox and apparently lost it. So we had to literally break the wheel locks off so we could put new tires on! This place is highly unprofessional. Very disappointed.Stay far far way from this place. I'm pretty sure $868.00 was a rip off as well! read more

A Master Mechanic are truly masters at what they do. I've had the most stressful day before taking off for burning man tomorrow! My AC went out when I was at another shop getting an oil change. They didn't have time to help but highly recommended A Master Mechanic. I called and the staff was very understanding and made time for me right away. I arrive flustered and over heating on one of the hottest days of the year, run down from putting out playa prep fires all day. They have super friendly and caring staff!! The team is very knowledgeable. They cut to the meat of the matter rather than drag out the diagnostic process. With their knowledge, they were able to figure out what was wrong when others couldn't. They were quick with solutions and quick with installation. A Master is not the cheapest shop in town but worth every penny I spent! Their shop is super clean, the waiting room is relaxing, and is all windows so you can watch them take care of your car. They value transparency. They are dedicated to making an ordeal a truly convenient and easy experience. read more

Got A/C recharged and was quoted 130-150, top hose needed to be replace, 5 minutes of work and I was charged an extra 50 dollars. Shop was notified this needed to be replaced when original quote was given. Total price ended up being 198 dollars The only reason I give them 2 stars(would be 1) is they seemed to do good work, and were very nice people. They just need a bit of work on the follow through with their quotes. read more

I will never go back, they broke my car, took it for a small problem, got it back with an even worst problem, they seem nice but I was never happy with their service, it seems like every time I called to check on my car they always had an excuse to not give it back, expensive service. I wouldn't recommend this place, stay away, I even compare prices and other places would do the same job for $300 less. Very disappointed my car was fine before I took it there, but after I picked it up, I almost didn't make it back home. I'm only writing this review cause this is the second time I'm very dissatisfied with their job. read more

So disappointed. After hearing this was a woman-owned business, was excited to support. What a waste of time and money. They wouldn't accept the diagnosis run by the dealership. Hands down the most reliable mechanic in the Reno/sparks area. I've never doubted their work on my car because when I go in I always feel like a top priority to them. Their customer service is amazing and have the best quality parts/labor I've ever received on a car.
