They performed an incredibly thorough inspection that gave both me and the buyer confidence in the condition of the vehicle. Rather than just trying to sell repairs, they honestly identified only one issue--a worn right rear wheel bearing. Jessy, the owner, was outstanding to work with. He was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to clearly explain the inspection findings without any pressure. After the inspection, they replaced the wheel bearing at a very fair, discounted price because I had the inspection done there, which I really appreciated. It's refreshing to find an honest, trustworthy shop that values integrity and customer service. Independent Automotive has built a great reputation over the years, and after this experience, I can absolutely see why. If you're looking for a shop you can trust for inspections, maintenance, or repairs, I highly recommend Jessy and the team at Independent Automotive.

Their prices are incredibly fair and they're not going to talk you into stuff you don't need. I went to another place in town that told me I needed $1500 in maintenance and then when I asked again two months later, someone at the same shop told me I needed $400 in routine maintenance. I came here for an oil change and told them that if they noticed anything they thought needed a tune up - I was game as I was about to make a big cross country trip. They came back and said everything looked great. I ran through the list from the first quote I had and they eased my mind. They let me know that they thought all of that was unnecessary and didn't make sense given the past maintenance and state of the vehicle. It was so nice to feel like I was dealing with honest humans. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for routine or necessary maintenance!

The most INCOMPETENT garage I've ever encountered. We brought our Subaru to Greg's for a simple…read morebrake fix. Immediately after their "repair," the tires reeked of burning rubber and the car shook violently on the road. When we returned, they blamed "faulty calipers" -- the same calipers they had installed -- and refused any partial refund, stating they "DON'T DO REFUNDS." What reputable shop refuses refunds for unsafe, poorly done work, especially on brakes that can seriously injure or kill?! We went back a third time because the brakes still made noises at every stop. Instead of inspecting anything, Greg took my husband on a "test drive," speeding to 50 mph and slamming the brakes in a whiplash‑inducing stunt meant to intimidate rather than diagnose. He insisted the brakes were fine. They were not. Soon after, the front wheel made a loud metal‑on‑metal scraping. A second opinion from another shop confirmed our fears: Greg's people had done the worst brake job they had ever seen. They even questioned whether the "new" calipers we paid for were new at all -- the brakes looked two years old, not two months. Greg has ignored calls, refused refunds, and offered zero apology. He only responds to Google reviews. The customer-focused values he advertises on his website are nowhere to be found in his actual business. I'm warning others: DO NOT RISK YOUR SAFETY OR YOUR WALLET at this shop!

They spent two hours on it, 4.2 ltr 6 cyl, it should have taken less than a hour. I filled it up afterwards to check how much my milage improved as it was about 2019 when I had my last tune up, I got 10.3 MPG, was getting about 14.5 around town before I took it to them. It took me some time to take it back because my part-time job was a on-call job. When I went in to tell them it was worse, they made me a appointment 3 weeks out. I declined saying I would take it somewhere else, it took until the first of this month (August) to have time to take it into Goldtech Auto in Reno. They pulled the pugs and wires, The plugs had about 40K on them, completely worn out with huge gaps and the wires were mismatched with two different brand names. They did not replace the plugs and threw on wires they had in the shop, I paid $95.40 for a new wire set and $49.20 for new plugs, plus $165.00 labor plus taxes. Not only did they totally rip me off for $327.75, it cost me time, more money to have it done by professionals and about $200 extra in gas. I know I won't get my money back, one of life's lessons I guess, never take your vehicle to a people who have no idea how to do a tune up.
