My in-laws spend the winter in Mesa and we have eaten at Green Tea several times the past few years when we visit (we live in Colorado). Overall we have had great experience at Green tee - both quality of the food, and the service. This includes our most recent visit of two nights ago. My in-laws were immediately recognized by the woman who takes the orders and she remembered details of their summer & winter travels - this was a nice personal touch. There were five of us and we each ordered a different menu item. Every dish was very good, served hot and clearly made from scratch for each order. The experience was good enough that we are going back again tonight. I have seen several negative reviews posted and those go against my experiences. Perhaps there is new management or some other reason for my much more positive experience. read more

I picked this place since it was closest to my hotel. Delivery was fast, 30 mins so food was super hot when it arrived. The chicken broccoli was good as were the spring rolls. The won ton soup lacked flavor and the won ton itself was so soft it fell apart (maybe this is typical for the area, but in Florida the won ton is more firm.) anyway, I also got the crab Rangoon, which was more like stuffed cream cheese w no crab. They have a min delivery of $15 plus a delivery fee of $1. My total came to $18. This was typical Chinese, nothing special but it did arrive fast and hot. read more

I love the food but the owners are very Rude. I made a mistake on my order called back to see if I could correct it and she told me no the order is on the way. Well I live 2 minutes from the restaurant and it's been 30 minutes and still no food. I over look the rude attitudes because of the food but this has really made me not want to go back. Not exaggeration, this is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. I have several options to choose from near Higley/Elliot and this to me is by far the best. Everything I have tried there is great. I never order soups, usually a menu item and fried rice in different forms. All great. Absolutely horrible service. Average food at best if you're really patient. This is the second time we went to Green Tea. The first time they had just opened and once we figured out that we were to seat ourselves we waited for nearly 10 minutes for someone to come to our table. This place wasn't very busy at all with a couple tables eating and about 3 people waiting for/ordering takeout. We scanned the menu and determined what we wanted within a few minutes. 5 minutes after that nobody had returned to the table to take our order. Within that time I saw two couples waiting to order take out walk out. We figured we'd do the same. Not wanting to judge too quickly we decided we'd give them another chance. This time we wanted take-out. We had some shopping to do at the nearby Sprouts so we placed our order prior to going shopping thinking this would insure us food when we returned. We arrived 25 minutes later only to find that they were just starting our order. After another 15 minutes (40 minutes total now) we finally were given our order. When we arrived at the house we discovered that they had not given us any rice. Zero rice. We called the store to see about coming and getting our rice and the person on the phone could not understand a word we were saying. We kindly told them that we were very dissappointed and wouldn't be coming back. It's unfortunate that they aren't able to recieve the feedback due to the huge language barrier. The food they did provide us was average. We ordered typical dishes such as Kung-Pao Beef, Orange Chicken and Garlic Chicken. Did I mention we didn't have any rice? This place really sucks. Went in on a Friday afternoon. No workers in restaurant, except a child playing in one of the booths. Stood at the counter for 2 mins and no one came out to greet me. I should have left but I was hungry. I grabbed a menu and sat in one of the booths to wait. 5 mins, still no greet. Mind you there is a bell on the door when I came in. I asked the playing child if anyone is working, she ran to the back and finally someone came out. 20ish year old girl and first thing she says "do you know what you want". I said, 'finally ...someone comes out to greet' with a smirk. She did not seem amused or bothered and proceeds with taking my order. I asked for iced tea and shrimp in garlic sauce. Ok....this is why this restaurant gets one star. As she walks away, she takes the napkin in her left hand and blows her nose till she cleared all her boogers. Not once did I see her wash her hands. After she blew her nose she got my drink and was holding it close to the lip of the glass with her left hand. 3 mins later she carries out my food holding the lip of the plate with that same left hand. Of course I mention the nastiness I just witnessed and told her it was disgusting. Do not eat here...ITS GROSS!!!! **I left to eat a sprouts sandwich next door. However the restaurant struggles with the easy part of running a restaurant, which is friendliness and hospitality. I found this place by accident and so GLAD I did! The food is FRESH, super hot, and awesome flavors. I love that the food is piping hot. Everything I have ordered here is BOMB! The flavor delightful. I've been coming here for a couple of years here now, probably 2 or 3 times a week. I alternate between this place and New China just up the street from here. Overall, I have have accepted the lack of service at this restaurant because at least the food is tasty. I always order the same entree for off of the lunch special. Once in a while I change it up as I did today. I arrived about 10 minutes before 3pm and ordered as I usually do. As a small business owner, sometimes I don't have time for a quiet lunch and I have to east as I work, like I did today. A client of mine needed to drop off a laptop to me so I suggested he meet me at the Green Tea to drop off the laptop. I had already finished my lunch before my client arrived and I asked Jenny if she could take my plates that I no longer needed. I continued organizing my folders while working on my laptop. My client arrived and he sat down and we tinkered with his laptop to see if we could get it working, which we couldn't. My client was there about 30 minutes and in all that time, no one greeted Daryl, neither did they offer him a menu - nothing. Daryl left and I continued on working occasionally asking for a refill. I paid my check and left a hefty tip since I was taking up a table for 2 - 3 hours. Throughout the entire time in the restaurant, only 2 people decided to dine-in so there were plenty of seats available. I'm a very caring and courteous type of person as I walked my trash personally to the dumpster outside and across the parking lot. I would feel bad if I left my trash on the table. I walked up to the counter with my glass in hand and requested a refill and that's when the $h#t hit the fan. Jenny pauses and informs me that the owner said I shouldn't have any more refils becuase she refilled my glass 10 times, which wasn't true. Then she continues to begrade me in front of other guests waiting for their order by telling me that I can run my business from here. With that said, she began to tell me that If I wanted a refill I would have to pay for it and that's when I interrupted and said "Really - I was having a working Lunch that ran over and now when I ask for a refill, the owner wants me to pay again - OK. Whatever but you know there are choices - Poeple can go to ther Chinese restaurants. I was bothered because I'm a regular - I wonder how they treat the new guest who frequent the restaurant. She kept looking back at the owner like what should I do and she proceeded to refill my drink telling me you've been here 3 hours and you can't runn a business. I proceeded to pack up and returned my briefcase to the car, I walked back in and left $1.25 on the counter and Jenny says "No - Take it." I said No - You complained about my refill and I believe in paying my way - so here's your $1.25 because you need it alot more than I do honey. THIS WAS TOTALLY un-provoked and if you thought I was abusing the refill policy, you could of informed me in a kind, caring manner and I would be more than happy to pay my share since I'm very successful at what I do. I wish there was a higher authority I can address this issue to and that's what I'm doing now - sharing my experience with fellow guests who can chose to spend their money at this restaurant or decide to go somewhere else. Let's talk about Some Facts - They have their minor children working there all hours a day, everyday which violates Child Labor Laws. The service sucks here - just read other reviews. The tables, Soy Sauce Bottles, etc need a good cleaning as they are sticky to the touch and the menu's are filthy TODAY WAS MY WORST EXPERIENCE EVER AT ANY RESTAURANT IN MY LIFE If they keep loosing guests like me, they soon will be out of business. Even though I gave them my address and cross streets, the delivery guy was completely incapable of finding where I live. An hour after I ordered, I got a call telling me that the order had been canceled. If you can't master the major cross streets in a 2 or 3 mile radius, you have no business passing yourself off as a delivery restaurant. read more

I ordered food from here a few weeks back and I have to say it was amazing. I've been getting tired of the Chinese restaurant near my house and wanted to try something different. I ordered through grub hub, which was very easy and convenient. However I didn't enjoy the rude phone call I received from the restaurant wanting to know what apartment number I lived in - I live in a house. In very broken English she was yelling down the phone some address which wasn't mine. I corrected her and the food showed up about 15 minutes later. They aren't the nicest here but their food is super good. I'm from the east coast and they have the most authentic east coast Asian cuisine. My favorite is the pork fried rice which never disappoints. I saw that some people had issues ordering from Grubhub. I usually use eat24 and my experience is always great. I've been wanting to check this place out right next to the Sprouts I shop at. The first time I went, I had the chicken and vegetables. Nothing too great, but good. The second time I got the moo goo gai pan. Not only was it the most tasteless chinese food I've ever had, but the most tasteless dish I've ever had anywhere! Blah! I'm not going back. The dishes are very cheap price wise, so in this case you get what you pay for. The restaurant could also use a deep cleaning. These average chinese restaurants are a dime a dozen. If you want the best chicken wings in town and the most amazing, fresh, flavorful Chinese cuisine at a reasonable price, this is THE restaurant for you! A family owned and operated business, they focus on quality cuisine instead of empty window dressing. The only down side is when the youth are providing service on the weekends--the food quality remains exceptional, but the weekend service is not nearly as attentive as during the week. I ordered dinner delivery one evening and luckily for me I wasn't terribly hungry - they arrived 15 minute shy of 2 hours! on top of that, the delivery driver had the audacity to knock on my door expecting a tip. When I called to check on my order, an older lady answered the phone and sounded extremely pissed that I even called. The service was a joke, and the food? even worse. I got lukewarm dishes and had to end up throwing out most of it due to it tasting so bland! I do not have the desire to give them a second chance nor visit their physical location. Their food may be good at some points during the day but for the most part? their food is a wasted opportunity to gain more customers and their customer service is a complete train wreck.
